Here is a list of Websites that I have found very inspiring and/or practical for wedding planning (other than Project Wedding, of course :-P). This list will grow as I find more Websites I want to recommend.

  • Style Me Pretty has beautiful photo and color inspirations from real (including DYI) weddings.
  • Wedding Wire has several very useful tools, including: 1) a budget calculator that allows you to add or remove categories and distribute your budget as you wish (you are not limited to an automatically calculate breakdown); 2) a seating planning tool that allows you to plan the set up of the whole reception area, a tool that allows you to upload pictures and create an inspiration board; 3) a guest list that helps you track guests as individuals as well as by households; 4) an online binder that helps you keep track of images, files, links, notes, and songs; and 5) several other tools (these are just the ones I was excited to highlight). Note: I've see other wedding planning Websites offer some of these tools as well, but I've personally found Wedding Wire more user friendly and practical.
  • Martha Stewart Weddings has some creative and inventive ideas for DIY projects, as well as photo inspirations and tips on all aspects of the wedding.
  • Real Simple's tag line says it well: Life made easier, every day. This site has practical tips of almost every aspect of life. I loved browsing through Real Simple's wedding planning section for practical solutions to my wedding planning woes.
  • http://savvybeautiful.blogspot.com/, the blog I started after my wedding! I share fun and practical ideas for planning weddings and other special events. I also keep a more comprehensive list of event planning Websites I find inspirational.

Hello,

I hope your wedding planning is going well. I had kept details of my wedding on my bio for 3 years after my wedding. Then I thought it was time to move on. I am sure you will find many other (and current) ideas on newer bios. However, I'd still like to leave you with some of my favorite ideas that other PW members and I have posted on the PW forum. Also check out the photos I collected throughout my wedding planning. I hope these help.

Just for you (and your man): While planning your wedding, remember to keep working on a healthy you and a healthy marriage!

The wedding planning process for me (and I am sure for many other brides as well) was filled with serious emotional highs and lows. I shake my head when I think of all the times I caused myself unnecessary heartache by spending much energy dwelling on things that did not go as planned!

Attitude, as it is often said, can help determine how or whether one overcomes obstacles. So here are two songs that sum up how I wish to handle life. Check'em out on YouTube!

* I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty-handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances, but they're worth taking
Loving might be a mistake, but it's worth making
Don't let some hell-bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance

* We Weren't Born to Follow by Bon Jovi

This one goes out to the man who mines for miracles
This one goes out to the ones in need
This one goes out to the sinner and the cynical
This ain't about no apology

This road was paved by the hopeless and the hungry
This road was paved by the winds of change
Walking beside the guilty and the innocent
How will you raise your hand when they call your name?

We weren't born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe
Believe that the sun will shine tomorrow
And that your saints and sinners bleed
We weren't born to follow
You gotta stand up for what you believe
Let me hear you say yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah

This one's about anyone who does it differently
This one's about the one who cusses and spits
This ain't about our living in a fantasy
This ain't about giving up or giving in

We weren't born to follow…
