I am diy'ing the flowers with the help of friends and family. My decision to have real flowers has lead me to choose a flower often viewed as a "filler" flower. Yes, I am referring to the carnation. It's not my first love, but since I want my wedding to have a slightly winter feel, I think they will help accomplish the goal. I am also incorporating peacock feathers into my design. Credits included with the pictures that I have it for. (If you see a photo that is yours, please tell me and I will update the credits or remove at your request. I saved some of the photos a long time ago.) Also one of the pics is my first trial run with artificial flowers.
My first DIY trial
One thing is for sure..Change is inevitable. I've change my centerpieces to lanterns. Here's my first mock up.
I will be adding more feathers to go under each lantern. My goal is to diy placemats for the center of each table. The ribbon will be wider on the middle of the table and now the runner will be magenta.
The mats will be similiar to these.
I'll post photos when I'm done with the DIY.
I went today for a florist consultation because I finally realized that I can't possibly do these alone. I will have two types of centerpieces.
Ok. I need a reality check. I have remade my invitations three times. I must say though, the more I re-design the better they get. I might try my hand at them once more. Here is the latest version.
I'm a little behind in updating. I have actually changed my invites. I wanted to be able to do embossing so I changed my paper to Vellum overlays. Here is a photo, but its not a good one.
They will still be inside the black pocketfold. Oh and the pocketfolds are done!!!
I had my invitations designed by Taylored Designs because I just wasn't in love with the ones I created. I also ran out of time to really perfect it all.
Here's the finished product!
