Decision made! Simple and lightweight for wandering around the mountains!!
I've been in Jasper this weekend, and have been able to look at the area of the National Park that my caterer has suggested for our reception BBQ/Picnic. The photos aren't great to show the whole area because the weather was terrible and I was trying to stay dry(!) but what do you think? Are we crazy to go full-on outdoors?
So I finally went dress shopping!!
My sister, bestie from England and I went to the new David's Bridal store that just opened in Edmonton...and these are the short listers!! I have no idea what I'm doing with my face (especially the 3rd dress!) my buddy had me singing and dancing all morning and unfortunately seems to have clicked her camera at the wrong times! lol
Any comments would be greatly appreciated - all 3 are so different but I love them all!!!
So this is where I'm trying to go with our wedding; simple, natural, peaceful.
However, I just can't get fuschia out of my head!! Originally fuschia & tangerine, then fuschia & blue - now I'm thinking I'm just going to have to incorporate it somewhere!!
So, we've been talking about our big day and I'm starting to think we're taking on more than we can manage.
We moved to Canada 7 months ago, so we have had to find somewhere to live (currently renting, just put down the deposit for a new development), completely furnish our current house, get cars for both of us, set up secured bank accounts, pay to set up gas & electric accounts...and I love to cook so getting kitchen stuff has cost more than I'd hoped too.
I stay at home with the kids, something we are both very adamant about, so only have FIs salary to pay for everything + try to save for the wedding.
Anyway, our new house is bigger than where we are renting, it has a 2nd living room so we will need to get another couch/chairs/coffee table etc and our boys are growing at a crazy pace so they will need new beds too.
I am starting to think about cutting back on our already 'basic' day - a faux diamond wedding band, my dad & brother doing photography (both very talented at it), no mini-moon but the big thing is our reception. We were planning to have it at one of our fave restaurants in Jasper, but I'm now thinking of going down to the river and having a BBQ. This is what FI and I have always wanted to do, but it didn't seem fair for our friends & family to fly all the way from England for a hot-dog!!
My priority has always been my little boys, so I'm willing to sacrifice anything for them to have a comfortable home - but will I end up regretting it in the end?? I am not willing to change the date because I know as soon as we do we will never get married because there will always be something else more important!!
Watch this space!!!........
A little while ago, I finally got around to sorting out my Alberta Drivers Licence, 2 weeks later FI came home with this for me!!!
I am one lucky lady !
