Inspiration to my VINTAGE/BEACH/SEMI-FORMAL affair:
Since we are getting married on the beach we are going for a very simple look. With white chairs and all white/ivory scheme!Very simple but elegant!!!
We are going to incorporate the coral/peach/apricot aand the blues! The 1st inspiration board is primarily just for the coral color! the 2ND one is the one that I took to my wedding planner :)
I wanted something simple but classic at the same time! As all that have been on this search can understand that its not as easy as it seems. Everything I liked was totally out of my budget, until I found this William Arthur line. I love love it! and so did my FI!!! the envelopes were lined in the blue, which match perfectly to my BM dresses!!! I also ordered the rsvp cards, direction cards, and accomadation cards :)
The Bridesmaids will be wearing: Jcrew Sophia or Juliet style dresses in Vintage Blue
And will be wearing these shoes.. I bought these for all 6 of my BM as part of their gifts <3
And for Jewelry, I have let the girls pick their own. I want them to show off their personalities. With this however, I have limited it to diamonds, pearls, or gold jewelry!!
The Groomsman will be wearing: Jcrew Irish Linen pants with white button downs and black linen ties
The gentlemen will be wearing brown leather sandals!!!
My Groom, Alex added the Jacket to make himself stand out :)
The Dress.. The Dress.. The Dress
I bought this dress 2 weeks after I got engaged! I absolutely love the mermaid style as well and the less is more attitude! I have a long veil and a flower to go in my hair!!! <3
And on me :)
I wanted something vintage with a touch of sparkle so here is what I found... I bought it at JcPenney on sale for 10.00 :)
Its everything I ever wanted!!!
Our Engagement Story:
Since January we had been planning a just the "2" of us beach trip. Having a toddler doesn't really let you have a lot of 1:1 time so we were defiantly in the need of just getting away and enjoying each other. So as we started planning, my parents who have a beach house in Destin, told us that we could go stay there for the week and save money. We were so excited, needless to say!
About 2 weeks prior to us leaving, I was eating lunch with my mom and she tells me that they sold their beach home and that we couldn't stay there! I instantly dropped my fork, honestly about to cry, but before I could say anything she told me that my dad was going to foot the bill and put us in a condo just down the street. So we could still go as planned! Of course I was relieved and thankful! Because lord only knew that I was not going to not go on our "vacation"
So off we go to Destin, we leave on Wednesday night around 5pm putting us there at about midnight central time. It was late and of course it rained the whole way down. We got to the condo and were just so relieved to be there and to relax. Much to our dismay- there wasnt going to be anything to do. As we turned on the tv to get ready for bed, we noticed the weather stated a 90 percent chance of rain the entire week! Super.. right? We came down to relax by the beach but we cant do that! "oh well, I said" Guess we can just sleep??
Alex however was very bummed.. like sad and depressed! It was his birthday and he wanted to relax on the beach with a cold beer on his hands. So we got through the next day and decided to go out for a nice dinner and some dancing. We went to our favorite restaurant and decided to have a little bit too much to drink. We had a great time just being together. However, the next day (Friday was a little different) I woke up sick and just miserable! Way to much to drink would be the one to thank! So Alex makes me breakfast and as soon as I started eating there was knock on the door. He went to answer it and it was our best friend Ryan who lives in Pensacola. We absolutely love him and were so excited to see him! Totally a surprise.
So about a few hours later, Alex tells me to get ready he wanted to go get our caricature picture done. So I get ready and off we go. We arrive to the artist and we tell him we want one with a "beach theme"! Alex is first and is done within 15 minutes. The artist (Dean) tells me its my turn and to have a seat. So I sit there and I sit there and I sit there.. 45 minutes goes by and I'm getting ansy but know one will let me see it! About 10 minutes later, Dean says "okay, I'm done"! Right as I get up to look at it.. In walks my entire family, his family, grandparents, god parents, and of course Caleb. I'm in total shock and cant believe they are there. Alex grabs my hand and tell me to look at the picture.. and I start crying (like a baby)! Its a picture of him proposing. He then got on his knee and asked me to be his wife. After crying nonstop- I finally got "YES' out! It was so amazing and to have my son there to be apart of it was the best part!
