Laura Hooper Calligraphy

Laura was very easy to work with. I sent her a very detailed email, filled out a few forms, and the order was mailed to me in 2 weeks. It looks beautiful!

Laura is so great. She is based in LA, but I had no trouble workin with her. Her prices were better than a lot of the bay area calligraphers, she's incredibly prompt and her turnaround is amazing. Most important, her work is beautiful.

Laura's work was absolutely beautiful. She did our envelopes and our place cards. She was such a joy to work with, and she made not one mistake! She is also very patient, I kept having changes with my tables therefore the place cards needed to be changed, but it was so effortless for her. I contacted Laura about the placecards for our wedding - and I couldn't have been more happy with the result! Her "Ella" font was perfect for our vintage-inspired (but still whimsical) spring garden wedding. I received many comments from our guests telling me how beautiful they thought the placecards were and how well they fit into our wedding. I only wish I'd known about Laura when we were sending out our invitations or I would have asked her to do the calligraphy for our envelopes as well (we just printed them on an ink jet printer, no where near as nice as they would have looked had Laura done them). Laura also provided the card stock for the placecards, which made the process that much easier and more convenient. Laura couldn't have been nicer or easier to work with, and the finished placecards arrived just a couple of days after I sent her the wording! I would highly recommend her to all other brides out there.

She does wonderful work. She is very nice and has good ideas regarding script styles, colors, etc. I used her for both save the date envelopes and our invitations (inner and outer envelopes). My envelopes all looked great – especially the invites! She made minor mistakes on 3 envelopes, but she quickly fixed them. I would highly recommend her and plan on using her again in the future.

I just got my envelopes from Laura and they are GORGEOUS!! She is amazingly talented and wonderful to work with. I am now going to have her do table numbers, menus, and anything else I can think of!!

While the calligraphy was beautiful, Laura's organizational skills could use some practice.

Not only did Laura lose a few envelopes, she incorrectly wrote a few addresses (wrong zip codes, wrong address numbers) and even wrote one upside down on the envelope! She was also impossible to reach by e-mail or by phone. I left numerous messages and not one was returned.

She told me I could pick up the envelopes in the store - not only did she not show up, the envelopes weren't even left with the clerk so I could just pick them up! She didn't even call to let me know she wouldn't be there (despite the fact that I had given her my home #, cell #, and work #).

I was given a coupon for 50 free escort cards...why bother when they probably wouldn't be done in time?

I found Laura by doing a google search for calligraphers in the Los Angeles area. I was impressed by her website so I contacted her. I was able to get right through and arranged to drop my envelopes off within the next few days. I requested to have the envelopes back within 25 days of drop off and they were done in 6 days! When I picked them up I was blown away. They are beautiful! I had been impressed with Laura's work on her site, but that does not hold a candle to what it looks like in person. Her work is truly exquisite. We are now looking for other things we can have her work on for our wedding. We plan to order sand dollar place cards from her as well. Laura is professional, courteous and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Laura Hooper calligraphy.

Laura was incredibly accomodating and easy to work with. Most of all her Calligraphy was the most beautiful work I have ever seen. Everyone who received an invitation commented on just how beautiful the calligraphy was. It was the icing on the cake for my invitations. I greatly appreciated working with a true professional!

I am a bride from New York and was looking for a calligrapher who matched my wedding style and that’s when I found Laura. I was a little hesitant to send my wedding envelopes all the way to California but after our first conversation she made me feel very secure. A little over a week after sending Laura my envelopes I had them back and they were absolutely STUNNING! Her artistic talent surpassed anything I had imagined my envelopes to look like! Laura is great! She did the invitations for a shower I am hosting and she had an amazingly fast turn around time. I found it easy to work with her and will definitely use her again in the future. Her prices are also very reasonable.

Laura is wonderful is every way! She was quick to respond, easy to work with and very reasonably priced...but above all her work is AMAZING! She wrote every invitation with pristine detail and BEAUTIFUL calligraphy! She was always very helpful, even when sending several lists. I had some addresses written on labels, others directly onto the box and several on envelopes...she did all with great detail and only one error, out of 225 invitations! Laura just completed my save-the-dates, one of the amazing map designs that she does and I honestly could not have imagined a more perfect save-the-date!!! Laura's work is absolutely beautiful, I can't stop staring at them! I can't wait to send them to all of our guests and see their reactions! They really are PERFECT! The best part is that Laura is the best person in the world to work with and made the entire experience seamless. Laura Hooper has been such a dream to work with. She has been prompt, professional and taken responsibility for every detail. She kept up fantastic communications with us and quickly responded to our every query. As an example of her customer service, for our wedding place cards, we wanted to calligraphy dried ginkgo leafs. She offered to test calligraphy a few for us at no cost to see if we liked the look. And, oh my, did we ever! They are gorgeous!

She's also a true artist in addition to being a true professional. We asked her to custom-match the ink she used to the ink on our letterpress invitations. It was perfect. Her writing was a work of art, even more beautiful in person than on her website. Additionally, when we QC'd the envelopes for spelling or punctuation errors, we couldn't find a single mar.

I was so excited to receive my addressed envelopes from Laura. From the samples I saw on her website, I knew that her work was going to be lovely and impeccable -- and it was. I own a invitation business in Canada and when my wedding was coming up, I was searching for a Calligrapher because the ones here in Toronto are sooo expensive. So I found Laura Hooper. I am soo happy I was looking she sent me some samples, and I just loved them. Today I recieved my envelopes for my invitations, and I almost cried they were sooooo beautiful. My mom can't beleive that she did them by hand. Thank you soo much Laura for my envelopes they are sooo beautiful, I can't wait till my guest receive them, and wait to see what they say. Laura did the invitations, response cards, and maps for my wedding. I could not be more happy with the order! Although I live in NY, I found that working with Laura over email was easy. Laura was very responsive and always willing to send me samples of her work and alter her design everytime I had a new idea. She is very prompt (I never had to wait long for anything) and her work is lovely. I thought my invitations came out super nice and the artwork on the map looked unbelievable. Even my fiance, who at first wanted to sent out e-invitations, thought Laura's work was well worth the money. I highly recommend Laura and would definitely hire her again.

Laura just completed the envelopes for my wedding. She was super responsive even at the odd hours that I tend to email given work. She proactively inquired when my envelopes didn't get to her and dropped me a line when they did so that I could take one item off the worry list. In addition to SUPER service, the envelopes were gorgeous. My fiance was floored as he was the one to open the package when it came. He called me at work to comment and that never happens! I would use her in a heartbeat again and I was thousands of miles away - she felt like a vendor right next door.

As an east coast bride planning a west coast wedding, I definitely appreciate vendors who are easy to work with and reliable. Laura has proven to be both; she responds quickly to emails, and returned my envelopes in just under 2 weeks! Once I saw how beautifully they came out, I immediately booked her to do my placecards and other wedding materials. The Ella font is fun, modern, and striking all at the same time, and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of her work.

I cannot even begin to tell you how incredible working with Laura has been! I have worked with Laura on several projects for my upcoming event. Most recently, Laura created a custom map for my wedding weekend and I could not be more pleased! It is simply gorgeous, and I'm so excited for my friends and family to see it! She even drew a picture of my puppy for the dog park on the map.

Laura is never too busy to answer my questions, always responds to me promptly (sometimes within minutes of my email), and is quite honestly my favorite vendor in the wedding world. I couldn't say enough nice things about her, and I'm looking forward to the projects we have coming up for my event!

Laura did the calligraphy for both of our daughters weddings. And, she did a beautiful job each time. Her work is lovely, but in addition, it was on time. You can count on her to deliver a beautiful product when she says she will. I've run out of daughters or I would use her for the next wedding!
