Reviews for My Wedding Blooms
Our wedding was perfection. Everything was created to our exact liking to the slightest detials. Along the way, we made some changes together and it all work out.
I love Kerim and Carlos! From the first meeting we had with Kerim I knew I felt comfortable with him. He went through a bunch of files on his computer showing me dozens and dozens of photos of different types of flowers, colors, arrangements. It was impressive. He really knows his flowers. Anyway, he put together a gorgeous arrangement for my bouquets, centerpieces and other decor. I got so many compliments. It was great.
When I first met with Kerim we instantly clicked and I was so excited about my flowers. I felt like I was getting a good amount of flowers for the price and he had some great ideas. The trouble started as time went on.
When we went to see our centerpiece mock-up we were very disappointed. First of all, he used pink roses in it instead of purple because the flower mart had not had any pretty purple ones and while that's not his fault, it was difficult to visualize what it would actually look like without the right colors. It was also a very odd share and my Fiance and I tried to work with Kerim to make it look more like what we had in mind. As we tried different things with the mock-up Kerim seemed to get very frustrated and when his next appointment knocked on the door an hour later he let them in and completely ignored us. He didn't even say goodbye. He just stopped talking to us about our centerpiece in the middle of the discussion.
The next meeting, about a month I believe before the wedding, we were talking about the votive cones that we were putting led candles in. He had promised to coat them in wax but was now showing us a sample that was only 1/2 covered in wax. It looked terrible and he explained that he didn't think it was a big deal. We compromised by using crushed white glass in the votive holders along with the led candles. (I must say, I loved this and it was his idea!)
I felt like he was constantly balking at my ideas when we met with him. I'd tell him what I wanted and he'd tell me that he didn't think it would look good etc. While I appreciated the guidance I ended up feeling that I had to go with his vision and not mine.
The day of the wedding had it's good points and it's bad. I had explained to Kerim numerous times that I was worried about him being late and that there would be extra traffic on the way to my venues. He was supposed to stop at the hotel to give the boys their bouts first and then come to the wedding site. He called 1/2 hour after he was supposed to be at the hotel saying he was running late (and he called me not my coordinator even though he had her number) and said he'd meet the boys at the wedding site. I had wanted pictures of the boys with their bouts at the hotel so this ruined this plan.
He was then an hour late to the hotel. My amazing hair/make-up artist stayed there longer than planned just so she could still put the flowers in my hair.
The bouquet arrived with different purple flowers in it then we had discussed. I had given him a picture of the purple flowers I wanted and these were not them. Close, but not quite.
My biggest disappointment came when I saw the bridesmaids bouquets. I had given him pictures of round bouquets with white calla lilies and we had discussed him putting light green accents in the maid of honors and light purple accents in the bridesmaids. The bouquets he brought were long stalks of flowers, not round at all. And the Maid of Honors accent color (which filled more of the bouquet than anything white) was bright pink/purple. Not the right color at all (and he knew what the color was because he was providing the linens in the right color). I honestly hated the bridesmaids bouqets.
I will say that the ceremony arch and centerpieces were beautiful and just what I wanted. He really pulled through on those. I can't compliment them enough.
Because they were late, however, his assistant was scattering rose petals out of an old cardboard box down the aisle while guests were already seated. This did not look good and it took away from the site.
Lastly, we had asked him to decorate this wooden arch that was above the cake table with some greenery and amaranthis. We showed him pictures of the arch and we paid $50 for this and it was never done.
I emailed him several times about it when I returned from the honeymoon asking for my $50 back and he replied back to me once about something else but never got back to me on this question. He never even answered why there was nothing on the arch.
In the end, some of the flowers were very pretty but some of it just wasn't what I wanted. The stress of him being late on the wedding day after I'd begged him not to made me very upset. I found him to be more emotionally inveseted in his design than invested in doing what the client wanted. I can recommend Kerim if you really stay on top of him and you have no vision for your flowers and can let him take over but otherwise I think you should look elsewhere.
Kerim exceeded my expectations! He was so great to work with the entire step of the way. Even Brent was thoroughly impressed (and that doesn't come easy). I didn't have a specific floral vision in mind, although I went in not wanting tall centerpieces - until Kerim invited us to swing by his wedding (also at the LARCG) to check out his amazing, beautifuly, tall centerpieces. I changed my mind to tall centerpieces then and there!
Kerim made all my floral wedding dreams come true! He provided gorgeous bouquets for me and my gals, boutonnieres for the guys, flowers for the mothers, petals for the aisle and flower girls, a floral arch for the ceremony (which we put over the cake during the reception), centerpieces, cake flowers, and an arrangement for our lounge area - and everything was GORGEOUS!
Kerim officially expanded his floral business into a more full-service wedding business, including rentals and a day-of coordinator (named Ana), just in time for us to try them out. All the rentals we got from him were great, especially the chivari chairs and the furniture for our lounge area! Brent and I had so much fun taking pictures on the lounge furniture. And the lounge area was a bit hit with the guests, especially those who weren't into dancing but still wanted to be close to the festivities. TIP: Consider keeping an open mind with your flowers, maybe just a color palette and a few flowers you definitely don't want (like no carnations, for me).
Ana was definitely one of our best wedding investments! Because LARCG doesn't come with a coordinator (like a hotel would) and because you have to arrange everything yourself (ceremony and reception set-up), Ana was invaluable as she dealt with all of that. Ana provided a great timeline for me and another version specific to the vendors. She constantly checked in with me during the planning process to see if I need anything. (She got a quote for me from our alcohol vendor, which was really above and beyond her day-of duties.) She's also done more than 20 weddings at LARCG (including Kerim's!), so she knows the place (and its rules) inside and out. The only question I had to answer all day was how to pronounce someone's name. Ana took care of EVERYTHING! She made sure that the set-up and teardown happened without a hitch. If there were any fires, I certainly didn't know about them. TIP: If you can afford it, DEFINITELY consider getting a day-of coordinator. Despite all the planning you put into your day, you don't want to act as a planner ON the big day. Let someone else take care of the hassles while you enjoy your day!
We love, love, loved our bouquets and centerpieces!! When we first met with him we discussed my vision and showed photos to him of things I liked and disliked and he put together a stunning wedding for me! My guests were fighting over the centerpieces!Thank you Kerim.
I agree with everything that has been said! My wedding isn't until 2007, but after meeting with Kerim I am so not stressed about how the flowers will look. I did not think I could afford many flowers at the ceremony, let alone the reception centerpieces. I was wrong. Kerim calmed me down and we worked it out and now I'm getting more for my money than I had been quoted from other places. My wedding is going to be full of flowers and I can't wait.
Update: I love Kerim! We developed a fun friendship over the course of the year planning my wedding. He worked with my budget and was responsible for all flowers, linens and other rentals. He saw to every detail and executed well. Absolutely wonderful experience – can’t recommend him enough. There is a reason why he’s one of the most recommended florists in Los Angeles!
Kerim is the BEST. He helped me organize my thoughts and pinpoint what I really wanted. I was about to change my mind about the centerpieces a week before the wedding and he still was patient with me. The flowers he delivered were amazing. I love that he personalizes his service. He is more like a friend than a vendor. When I changed my aisle decorations last minute, I was extremely shocked at how gorgeous they came out!
I would say that Kerim is the way to go. I don't regret a penny spent on him.
Pre-wedding Grade: 4 stars
Wedding Day Grade: 2 stars
Unfortunately, I didn't have the same great experience with My Wedding Blooms that other people have had. Everything was fine leading up to the wedding -- Kerim was very responsive to e-mails and calls and had great ideas -- but the execution was lacking on the actual wedding day.
The flowers arrived close to the promised time of 8:30 a.m., but there was a major problem: the mothers' corsages and the gardenias for my hair were missing. There was a box for the corsages that was filled with packing material, but the corsages themselves were missing. The employee who delivered the flowers promised to return with the missing ones in 15 minutes.
Forty-five minutes later, we had to leave for the church and ran into the employee in the hallway with the missing flowers. Once we arrived at the church, we discovered that no pins had been provided for the corsages or the boutonnieres and had to ask our coordinator to bring some to us. All of the waiting made us late for our pictures, which ended up being more rushed than we wanted. The men have no flowers in at least half of the pictures.
The aisle arrangements were stuck onto the chairs with double-sided tape but kept falling off -- only about half of them were still on when I walked down the aisle. The flowers that my mom had put in my hair (because they arrived after the makeup artist had left) kept falling out. Eventually, we ended up putting one of the magnolias from the back of the cake in my hair because we couldn't get the gardenias to stay!
I had a very small wedding (two bouquets, four boutonnieres, six aisle arrangements, five centerpieces, an aisle runner, and a cake stand) so it was even more frustrating that things went wrong. So, unfortunately, I can only recommend Kerim if you really stay on top of him and make sure that he delivers everything he's supposed to. Everything looked nice, but it was so frustrating having to wait around for it that it really diminished my enjoyment of the flowers and added unnecessary stress to our wedding day.
Also, looking at the pictures, the centerpieces we ended up with look a lot less lush than our samples were, though it's possible it was due to a miscommunication.
We got married on 6/2/07 at the Ayres Hotel. What can I say about the fabolous Kerim that hasn't been said already. Kerim truly blew me away on our wedding day. He made all of my floral dreams come true, everything is what I wanted and more. I'm one of those brides that take obsession to another level, but Kerim put me at ease everytime we met. He truly is such a talented artist and has such an creative eye, I always trusted his opinons. We had over 100 roses in each of our centerpieces plus hundres more for our ceremony and Kerim gave us such a great deal. For what we got we should have been charged double!
Ladies you can't go wrong working with Kerim, he's amazing!!!!
I have a few pics in my bio if you'd like see. Please contact me with any questions, i'd love to help. Good luck and Congrats to you all!!
Kerim and Carlos were fantastic! They were very sweet and nice people which is very important and they worked hard to make my wedding gorgeous. The prices were great and their flowers and service was outstanding. The only problem was that I had a hard time finding his office. I drove right by it! LOL. But that was mapquest's fault.
I booked my wedding on May 10th, which was the day before Mother's Day. At the time of booking, I didn't realize that Mother's Day weekend was the second most expensive time of year to buy flowers. I went to Kerim and had very little knowledge of flowers or what I wanted. I showed him about 20 pictures of 20 very different centerpieces, bouquets, and accent flowers. Kerim got a feel for me and my style and came up with the perfect arrangement of centerpieces and bouquets without me even telling him exactly what I wanted! I was amazed with the sample centerpiece because it was perfect and I didn't want to change a thing! It was absolutely gorgeous!!! Kerim was friendly and easy to work with throughout the process and the price was extremely reasonable (especially for the weekend I chose). He was punctual on the day of my wedding and everyone was so impressed with the flowers. He did a fabulous job and I would strongly recommend him to anyone who's interested in a reliable, creative, intuitive and talented florist.
I just booked Kerim for my wedding after reading all the great reviews and so far he's been great. I met with him twice because I was unsure of my colors and the direction I wanted to go the first time. He was very patient and gave me some great ideas and when I went back a second time with a more detailed plan of what I wanted, he seemed just as excited as I was. He was able to work within my budget (which was my biggest worry), and his prices were lower than other florists I met with.
Kerim did both flowers and rentals for my May 2008 wedding. When I initially went to him I had some general ideas of what I wanted and he helped me to create a vision for our wedding. Come wedding day he was spot on. He did a wonderful job with all of our florals and rentals. Wonderful wonderful experience with Kerim!
Kerim is the BEST!!! He truly exceeded my expectations as a florist!! He went ABOVE and BEYOND to make my weddign amazing ....even going so far as to decorate my cake with flowers!!! I did not have a big flower budget AT ALL And he totally worked with me from beginning to end!!!! I HIGHLY reccomend him!!!!
The hype is true! His flowers are BEAUTIFUL. Most importantly I did not have to worry about a single thing. His company came through beautifully.. In the last minute rush I was busy with my DJ and a few other details.. I never once had to worry about if the flowers were taken care of. The bridal party flowers were delivered to our two locations on time and the night before the staff had been at our reception hall with us to help us set up the table linens & pedestals. I can't say enough good things about it.. Please see my photos for examples.
From start to finsih, Kerim was wonderful. The banquet room looked beautiful. I ordered my linen rentals, lighting and chivari chairs from My Wedding Blooms as well and everything turned out exactly as I had envisioned. I highly recommend Kerim at My Wedding Blooms to all brides.
The flowers for my wedding were GORGEOUS, thanks to Kerim. I am one of those brides who initially didn't care about flowers, but as soon as I told Kerim what our wedding colors were, he had a ton of ideas from linen colors to my then-groom's shirt and tie color combination. As a result, EVERYTHING looked well-coordinated, crisp, and elegant. I loved all of the flowers he suggested, especially the cymbidium orchids and green roses - they really added a fantastic pop to our three-piece centerpiece. I had the three varying sizes of vases, which worked amazingly with the square theme we had throughout the whole event. Additionally, during our final consultation, he made a substitution that made our centerpieces even better than I expected. He made sure to ask if that was okay with me, and I told him to do whatever he wanted because I trust him!
Our gazebo was stunning, and I honestly was awestruck (so was my photographer!) when I saw my bouquet. It was soft and very pretty, not overly done. My bridesmaids' bouquets were beautiful and worked so well with the color of their dresses. Everything was ready when I got to our venue, and because I was late, one of the things I regret is that I wasn't there early enough to properly thank Kerim for all the work and effort he put into making our wedding truly amazing.
From the moment my husband and I met Kerim, we have enjoyed working with him. He took the time to listen and understand our vision and executed it perfectly! I am constantly receiving compliments on my flowers from the photos I have shown colleagues and friends. I absolutely fell in love with my bouquet. I actually cried when I had to throw it out! Silly, but true. I would highly recommend My Wedding Blooms to any bride. My husband and I loved every meeting with Kerim, he is vivacious and fun to work with, as well as extremely artistic and professional. The wedding day went flawlessly and we couldn't have been more pleased to have known and worked with Kerim for our very special day. Without him, our wonderful vision for our day could not have been achieved! Thank you Kerim!
I booked MWB back in May of 2006 for my 2007 summer wedding based on all of the wonderful reviews on this site and others. He was great on our first meeting and we hit it off immediately. I never even had a second thought about my flowers until shortly before the wedding because I knew they were in good hands with Kerim.
We had our final meeting with him 2 weeks before the wedding to confirm our plans and he let us know he would stop by our reception site that week to have a look at how he would hang our lights with his chiffon swag. I called him several times that week with no response and then twice the week of my wedding with no response. I followed up with our reception site the day before my reception and they let me know he had never come by and they also had not received a return call from him either. I finally received a call from him the morning of our wedding when he let me know his assistant was on his way but running late.
From the moment his assistant arrived at my hotel (an hour late - literally 5 minutes before our pictures) the disasters began. We had planned on having crystals on my bouquet and instead of crystals I had pieces of Styrofoam in my bouquet uncovered by the crystals that were supposed to top them. Kerim later explained that the blue crystals took away from the bouquet but I wish I would've at least had the option of asking for a clear crystal instead of him making the decision for me.
I also asked that he wrap the base of the flowers with a ribbon that was from my husband's grandmother's bouquet which I had given to him in our last meeting. When the bouquet arrived not only was it not tied on it, it was no where to be found for quite a while before we finally found it, taped to a bridesmaid's bouquet.
Then we arrived at our ceremony site... unfortunately Kerim was not able to do the actual decorating and his assistant came instead. Not only had we given Kerim given specific instructions on what we wanted for the ceremony but pictures and color swatches as well. Although it was never admitted, according to our wedding planner, he had forgotten to bring the chiffon swag that was supposed to drape the aisle way. According to a few people at the church, they had to come up with something and all they had in the back were some very old and sad looking strips of tulle. He also forgot the blue ribbon that we wanted to tie the flower arrangements around the pews with and although I did not want pew clips he used them instead (charging $35 per pew clip) of which 5 actually ended up breaking before the ceremony. Not only that but our guests and Pastor were actually having to attach them on to our pews with twist ties shortly before we walked down the aisle! We also requested a large amount of flower petals to be placed over our aisle runner (as we weren't big fans of the aisle runner Kerim offered with the flower print on it). We ended up with very sparse petals because the large box of petals that he brought "had to be thrown away before the ceremony because our church wouldn't allow them to be used on the aisle runner." We later found out it was due to the thin aisle runner they the church was afraid they would soak through. Our church hostess also told us that he came with only a small box of rose petals and she did allow them to use much of that box.
Then we arrived at the reception hoping things couldn't get any worse...and to his credit...I did give him one star because our centerpieces were what we had wanted, as well as a flower arrangement at our escort card table (which we had viewed and approved a couple of months earlier). However, he also forgot to bring the chiffon to hang the 3,000 lights we had purchased (and had hand spray painted white) so he decided (on our behalf) to not hang them at all. We also discussed having a large amount of flower petals at our cake table where we found maybe 5 roses worth of flower petals scattered around. Considering they had to "throw away" 15 dozen roses worth of petals, it was a shockingly sparse arrangement of flower petals at the cake and reception tables. We never got an answer as to why the "large box of petals" couldn't have been used at the reception site after they decorated the church.
What I had thought was our biggest splurge and safest bet for our wedding, ended up being my biggest disappointment and cause of stress and frustration on our wedding day. I think MWB has gotten too busy for their own good and may be scheduling more weddings than they can handle. Although Kerim is a nice guy and refunded me the cost of my bouquet, if there was one thing I wish I could go back and change about my wedding it would have been our florist.
They took some ideas and made them into a dream come true. When I got my bouquet and saw the amazing center pieces for the first time they took my breath away. Kerim truly has a gift with flowers. The only thing that the company needs to really work on is keeping up with their phone calls with their clients. Overall, the flowers were amazing and totally affordable. Anyone would be lucky to have him do their wedding.
After hearing how wonderful My Wedding Blooms is, I made an appointment to meet with Kerim. From the beginning of the consultation, he did not listen to what I wanted. His vision was very different than mine. He was making my wedding "modern". I hate modern! I told him (and showed him pictures) of the bouquets and centerpieces. He changed them entirely and I left feeling so upset. He never asked me about my budget and he seemed rather pricey. He is great if you do not have a vision in mind, but if you do steer clear because he really doesn't listen to what you are saying.
Kerim did my ceremony and reception flowers, cake flowers as well as linen rentals and everything was absolutely beautiful! Everyone loved the centerpieces at the reception and I had many guests asking if they could take them home. I was so pleased with the look of everything I could still cry when thinking about it (corny, I know, but true). My bouquet was deep red with roses and peonies, and as a special little surprise touch he added a rhineshote pin with my initial to it. It was simply gorgeous! This is the best decision I made...hiring Kerim! I love that man.
Our flower order was very small, and I underestimated how much I would adore the flowers. I know nothing about flowers so for our alter and sign-in table arrangements I told Kerim the general shape and size I wanted and showed him pictures of the location. He took it from there and the results were perfect. Our bouquets… I absolutely fell in love with them. I showed him a couple pictures and he replicated them perfectly. He took the style of my dress into account so that the size and shape of the bouquet complimented the whole look. I loved my bouquet so much I took it on our honeymoon to decorate our room! Five days after the wedding it’s still going strong, so I’m now attempting to dry it. If I’d known how much I would love it I would have made arrangements to have it preserved.
Flowers was one of my biggest concerns, not so much because I was picky about them, but because I was going in 20 different directions with my theme and I was getting concerned about the outcome. I first met Kerim and presented him with all of my ideas and cut outs, as well as a nice stack of magazines with tags on the pages that had something that I liked. He first asked me several questions to determine my theme and vision, then he asked me to point on my own pictures the elements that I liked about a certain picture. After viewing several pictures, he told me that he knew what I wanted and then he started to show me on my own pictures what I liked about them and what I didn't liked. He sketched a piece that had the elements that I liked into one single arrangement and I fell in love with it (in Paper). When I went to see the mock up centerpiece, I couldn't believe my eyes, it was just was I always had dreamed of.
The day of the wedding, just when I thought I couldn't get any better, Kerim blew me away with flower arrangements that were more amazing that what I saw at the centerpiece viewing. He was my favorite vendor during the planning process and he's my absolute favorite now after the wedding. He orchestrated the fusion of colors on the flowers and the linens so beautifully that it really looked like a fantasy dream wedding. He arranged the lighting, the linens and some rentals for me, he is Amazing!
Strongly recommend him, he's worth every penny.
UPDATE:
Last night when I got home, I found a package for me, it was my Bouquet that Kerim arranged the freeze drying. Kerim was right, it was just AMAZING!!! I was on tears and I couldn't get enough of it, I even wanted to bring it to work today. He has come through and gone above and beyond any of my expectations. I have no words to express my satisfaction with this person and his company.
I would give Kerim a 9 out of 10. In our correspondence before the wedding he was great, very accomodating. I was unsure of what I wanted and he was able to guide me in creating a look. My only 2 complaints were from the day of the wedding. A few of the boutonnieres were the wrong flower- still nice, just incorrect. All the bouquets and centerpieces were gorgeous. Also, the woman who came to deliver and set up was a bit rude and impatient, not the best person to represent the company. Overall, I was very happy and I received numerous comments on how beautiful my flowers were.
