Matt Nathanson did a great job as our officiant. He was so responsive and more than willing to talk to us over the phone. We were married in Scottsdale but our wedding was planned from New York. Matt really personalized our ceremony and did additional research on our religions (e.g. traditions such as breaking the glass and drinking a cup of wine). We had an interfaith marriage (Jewish/Muslim) where we wanted a Rabbi but due to the non-congressional setting, it was impossible to find one (especially planning from New York). Then we found Matt on theknot.com and he agreed to marry us. We liked that he provided us with a starting point and was willing to work with us from the start. We did not meet Matt in person until the Ceremony Day. He was very calm and well-spoken on our wedding day which made the ceremony go over very smoothly and more relaxing. I would definitely recommend Matt to other couples.

I wanted to say a huge thanks to Matt Nathanson for a perfect wedding & rehersal. I wish he could have stayed to hear the wonderful comments about the ceremony. Guests thought that Kimbely & Matt's best friend married them, that is such a wonderful compliment. One of the best parts of my wedding was having Matt Nathanson as our officiant. He was so helpful throughout the whole process. Whenever I had questions I could email Matt and he would get back with me same day. I didn't find any other wedding vendor who would do that for me. Although we were one of many clients he had, Matt always made us feel like we were the most important. Matt didn't even need to be there for the rehearsal. He was familiar with the location and everything went smoothly with the ceremony. I didn't have to worry about a thing, which is good, because brides always have a lot to worry about on the wedding day. I loved the sample readings he provided for us, it made it very easy for us to choose and feel that it reflected our beliefs and feelings my husband and I had for one another. Matt gave our wedding a very comfortable, personal feel which is exactly how we wanted our wedding to be! After months of planning and dealing with facilities, caterers, photographers, flower and cake people(arrggg...), Matt provided EXACTLY what my wife and I wanted in a down to earth, personal, calm and confident marriage ceremony. It just felt right!

We planned our wedding from another state and "met" and worked with Matt via phone calls and e-mail. He was flexible working with the long distance and our ceremony requests. We when arrived in AZ, Matt met with us and took the time to get to know us better. Because of his experience, he thought about aspects of the ceremony that we hadn't considered and made everything very easy. Matt made the ceremony something unique and special for both of us. Our family and friends have commented on how well he did with our ceremony. We could not have been happier with Matt!

Matt was fantastic. My fiance and I at last opted for a small simple ceremony prior to our vacation (which we turned in to a honeymoon). He and I work in separate states, so we needed to do nearly all of the coordination by phone and email. I contacted Matt and he was incredibly responsive, worked with us via email and phone, and performed a really wonderful ceremony for us and a couple of friends and family. He was extremely flexible, and I was so glad he was able to accomodate our oddball wedding ceremony time choice (a Thursday morning!!). Would highly recommend him to anyone!

Matt is an amazing officiant. We liked him the moment we met him. He is easy to work with and is very organized. He made our ceremony very easy to plan and I never felt stressed. As far as the actual ceremony went, it could not have been more perfect. I liked that Matt adds just the right amount of humor to the ceremony. Our guests were laughing right off the bat. He was awesome to work with, very organized upon our first meeting, providing us with examples and wording to help us design what kind of ceremony we wanted, and arrived to our wedding early to make sure he was going to do everything exactly the way we envisioned. He personalized our ceremony expertly, telling "our story" to people that may not have known our background as if he had known us for years. There were laughs, there were tears, and many people came up to us and told us it was the best wedding ceremony they had ever attended. He made it a day to remember and I'll be forever grateful. If you hire Matt, you will be too.

I received so many complements on our ceremony. Guests loved the informal way Matt conducted the service. He had my husband and I fill out a questionnaire and incorporated it into the ceremony. My husband and I were married by Matt November 30, 2008 at the Orange Tree Golf Resort. Matt was wonderful, everything we could want! Matt Rocks! We had all kinds of family drama to work around and Matt was professional and very accomidating. We wanted a very very short ceremony and he delivered beautifuly. Matt is very responsive to email as well as phone and is on top of his game. He met with us more than 5 times. I forgot to get our Marriage license the day of and Matt didn't make me feel like an idiot. He even meet with me 2 weeks after the wedding to sign the marriage license at no extra charge. Matt provided great guidance in developing exactly the ceremony we wanted while still being completely flexible to add in aspects that were important to us. His energy and focus created a ceremony that was even more beautiful and meaningful than we had imagined. There wasn't a dry eye in the place! He is a lovely man with great insight and was really there to realize what would be meaningful to Marry each other. It wasn't about 'him marrying us' but providing the space and rituals for us.

We held the date about 9 months in advance and he was professional and available any time we needed him for questions, etc.The ceremony was perfect and several of our guests made comments about how great everything went. We would strongly recommend Matt as an officiant for other weddings. He is also very helpful with ideas for your ceremony, vows, etc.Very flexible to make your ceremony religious or not(ours was not very religious....)Strongly recommended, zero complaints. My husband and I are of mixed religious affiliations and neither of are active members of a church. We were really looking for a simple ceremony with religious undertones without being churchy or stiff. I found Matt's website after looking all over the web and finally thought we had found what we were looking for. After our first meeting, I was totally at ease with this decision, all of our personalities just clicked and I knew this was who I wanted to marry us. Matt is very easy going and funny. We had a number of ceremonies to chose from with tons of different vows and my husband were able to find a ceremony that would really fit us. Now, no offense to Matt but I really don't remember one word he said during the actual ceremony, that part was a total blur. But I heard later it was great. Thanks Matt. This was really the one no brainer decision.

Matt was amazing. He met with us beforehand and from that meeting he had a good sense of us and the kind of ceremony we wanted. He's thoughtful and sensitive and wrote a ceremony that reflected just what we felt about each other and our kids. It was easy and not at all awkward. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend Matt.

Matt was wonderful throughout the whole process from initially meeting with us and asking us what we wanted in our ceremony to choosing the right readings, vows etc. to the actual wedding. Matt gave my wife and I exactly what we wanted for a very reasonable price. We did not think our 'ideal ceremony' existed until we met Matt and went over what we wanted. The ceremony lasted about 12-15 minutes, was laid-back, meaningful and fun! Those are all the aspects of our ideal ceremony that we expressed to Matt at our first meeting, and he delivered. Matt was helpful in choosing from his various readings and vows by offering suggestions and ideas while at the same time not being pushy or insistent and ultimately doing exactly what we wanted. we are not a traditional couple and we loved that Matt embraced and encouraged us to create a ceremony that reflected us as a couple. He has great energy and we both clicked with him the minute we met him. He led a beautiful personalized ceremony and really listened and captured our vision of what we wanted in the ceremony.

Matt was great! We loved how flexible and accommodating he was to our needs and wants. We received many compliments from guests! Some people even said that it was the best ceremony they have ever been to.

We found Matt online and he got very high reviews so we decided to schedule a meeting with him. After our first meeting I was sold. Matt is very likeable, he’s extremely nice, easy to talk to, very open and laid back. In addition, he’s very organized, which I really appreciated. I wanted to know what was going to be said in our ceremony. It was important to me to know beforehand the order of the ceremony, the vows, etc. Matt has lots of material that he has prepared and can use in the ceremony and he is willing to work with you to get a ceremony exactly like you want it. I had several specific requests and he accommodated every one of them. He allowed us to choose readings that were special to us. Most importantly though, he tailored our ceremony to us. We didn’t want a religious ceremony (although he does those as well). Instead we wanted a ceremony that was about us, unique to us. And he did just that. We had several guests tell us that our ceremony was one of the best they have ever heard. Because it was so unique and personalized to us. Before the ceremony he had us write down 10 things we loved about each other and 5 aspirations for our married life – then he used the things we said and the stories we told about each other throughout the ceremony. So it was special for our guests, and really special for us. I highly recommend him, you will like him and your guests will tell you how special the ceremony was.

Matt is very easy to talk to and understands the needs of the couple. He is very professional and is quick to respond to emails and phone calls. My wedding was the perfect day and he helped make that possible.
