I could not have asked for a better place to have a young, fun, and unique wedding than the 20th Century Theater. Everyone told us how much fun they had at our wedding, how unique it was, and how awesome the food was. The venue and the catering was very competitively priced. We were having a budgeted wedding, but we visited and looked everywhere. Their catering was so good that it was actually better than caterers that charge twice as much. It was so convenient to have them caterer the food and set up our wedding, it was just one less place to have to call and keep up with. The staff was so friendly, they kept complementing how beautiful our wedding was. The only incident we had was that their planner was on maturity leave and they had no organization without her! Thankfully she came back in time for our wedding though! They mis-booked our tasting, and a couple other things, but they did make up for their mistake in the end. The venue was just beautiful, and spectacular for the budget. Mark, Carry, and Lindsey were so friendly, i am glad to of had them be of such importance to our special day.

Really great venue, if I could I would have another wedding there. Very flexible and had a lot to offer including popcorn all night and the food was really good. The in house DJ Mark Santangelo was the best!!

We had the pleasure of working at this venue with Lindsay and the great staff there. They really work hard to make sure your event runs smooth. We worked with them there on October 07th 2012 and made a memorable evening for our client. Many thanks to all the staff at 20th Century Theatre. We really appreciated your help. Sincerely, Rob & Jeff {say i do}

The team at 20th century was amazing. They were so helpful and accomodating. All the guests had a great time and Mark Santangelo- the in-house DJ- was great too. He had "text to screen" which was a huge hit.

Mark and Lindsey we're great to work with up to the day and even the day of! Then I had the reception begin... it started at 7 pm. The food was supposed to be floating appetizers, and they gave me a buffet with one person holding a tray of pinwheels that were set down after a half hour. All the food was picked up by 9:30 pm and the bar was closed by 11 pm... they pride themselves on 'partying all night, the place is yours till you say so'- lights were on and linens picked up by 11:05 pm... And to top everything off, valet ruined a side mirror of one of my guests that waited 40 minutes just to get his car....
Like I said, great planning, emailing, working with us, but the day of ruined all the preplanning. My guests still tell me it was beautiful and fun but they left hungry and waited well over 20 minutes for their car...

20th Century Theater was phenomenal as our wedding venue! Really, we just can't say enough good about them.
Every single person on the staff was incredibly nice and accomodating to us, our wedding party and our guests. I wish I had caught all of their names. They were so patient, relaxed and flexible with us all. Especially when we had to come back the next morning to find our lost car keys (we found them!) and load up the rest of our items.
Lindsey answered all of our emails timely and with helpful information. It was a little scary planning a wedding from 500 miles away but she made it painless.
Mark Santangelo did lighting that was beyond what we could have imagined. The venue looked like a movie set. It was exactly what we wanted.
The owner Mark Rogers was amazing to us. He really cares about how you feel and that everything goes the way you want it to.
The food was incredible and people are still raving about it. The servers were wonderful and the bartenders were fantastic.
The venue's prices are very affordable and you get a lot of bang for your buck. The extras they offer are also great. We had valet parking, a champagne toast for all guests, and uplighting.
All of our friends and family are still talking about how much fun they had and some guests are even planning to have vow renewals there. We have had a lot of parties in our time but this was definitely the best party we have ever had. We could not have found a more perfect place for our ceremony and reception.

Pros:
- Extremely flexible: whatever you want to do, they will do what they can to help you do it. Also there's no strict time limit, so you won't get kicked out of the venue. We were there until at least 2 AM. Also, I didn't like their vegetarian options for the dinner entree, but they were very accommodating and open to suggestions from me. We ended up doing Spanokopita, which turned out to be a huge hit with our guests.
- Great Service: on the day of the wedding everyone from the servers to the bartenders to the valet were very friendly. I used to work weddings as a banquet server and I was accustomed to poor attitudes among the other servers, but no one seemed to have this attitude- or at least they do a great job of hiding it!
- Food and bar package: the prices for the catering were very reasonable and I got very positive feedback from guests. The chef was willing to work with us to create the perfect menu. The bar package was great too. They have a large selection of beers and then let us select two more for them to bring in.
Possible Con (it worked for me, but may annoy others)
- Lindsey and staff were very laid-back, which I appreciated, because it made me feel less stressed. We had a pretty informal line of communication open at all times. I liked being able to email her whenever. However, if I were more a type-A bride, I might be annoyed by the lack of formality and pre-planning. (we didn't really nail down all the specifics until the week prior)
-Parking: There really is no convenient parking, so you have to buy the valet package.
- Location: It's located conveniently close to Xavier University, but not near any decent hotels. We were very disappointed by this because we didn't want guests to have to drive too far after the reception.
This site is great for those looking for...
- Unique venue
- Vintage feel
- More intimate setting
- Live music

We wanted somewhere that was not your traditional reception hall... and we found it here!!! Lindsey and all the staff were very helpful in planning out details and dinner menu, she gave us some very good suggestions. They were awsome the night of the wedding, they were veyr plesent and the wait staff were very professional
the food was great! And I would recommend the light package to everyone! It transformed the room with all these diffrent colors.
I cannot say enough good things about our experience and the kindness of all the people at the 20th century theater!!

They were pretty good beforehand and they were helpful but on the day off we got almost zero help. The people that were there were pushy and rushed us. They served the top teir of our cake after peoplr told not to. And served alcohol to underage guests after they told us they would be checking ids. Overall disappointing.

Lindsay and company did a wonderful job. The food was delicious and they were the most flexible of any venue we considered. Our guests enjoyed the party and so did we!
GUEST

I didn't have my ceremony here, but this was my reception venue. It was a blast! The staff did an excellent job! I couldn't of had a better reception. It was the greatest party of my life and all my guests said that it was the time of their life and a moment they would never forget. The food was amazing and so was the service of the staff. I couldn't of found a better reception venue and a better staff to work with. Amazing night.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and the space was beautiful.

I loved them! Mark has an in-house caterer, and we worked together to create a fantastic menu to accomodate some seriously picky eaters.
The theater was amazing~we barely had to decorate because of the lighting, and they had the room switched from ceremony to reception so quickly!
We also took advantage of the "Friday Night Wedding Special", so we nabbed the place for only 750 dollars, which enabled us to splurge more on the bar and the food.

My husband and I didn't want a traditional place for our reception. Hotel after hotel and ballroom after ballroom, it all really looked the same and didn't feel like us. When we finally found the 20th century, the retro movie theater/music venue feel hit the right note. With the lights on it needs improvement, but with the lights down and the exposed brick wall and stage revealed, a live band and the star-like ceiling lights, it was perfect. They had no time limit, were completely flexible, and very chill about the whole experience. Red, black and white were our colors, and the popped in this setting. Make sure your photographer can take pictures well in low light. Also be sure to keep a copy of your contract and that you hold them to the details as discussed in your contract signing because a lot of things were promised that were forgotten long before our ceremony. Get it in writing because they're quick to say we can do anything, and will pretty much do anything you ask, but put it in writing and get a price on every special detail or there will be confusion. Also, they were pretty inflexible about food tastings. We were out of town and they only wanted to do a tasting at a scheduled time. The food was ok, not stellar, but they had to hold it for about 30 minutes because our wedding ran late due to a late organist so that may not be entirely their fault.
GUEST

The staff was fantastic. We didn't have to worry about anything at all. We even had a popcorn machine from somewhere else and they ran it for us. I would definitely recommend this venue. People loved how different it was. The staff really knows their venue and made great recommendations for us.
