We used 513DJ Ryan Kellinghaus for our reception and we were extremely pleased with them. DJ Tom was our DJ and he was so helpful and flexible with our arrangements. We also used Tom for the ceremony music, which required a seperate set-up. We had a last minute change due to the weather and Tom handled it with ease. He was instrumental in moving the schedule along at the reception. Once we got through dinner to dancing, the music was great and he kept the party going with song selections that kept people out on the floor, which is what we wanted. I would recommend DJ Tom and 513DJ for your wedding needs.

Avious was the DJ for my wedding and he was awesome. He kept the dance floor packed all night long - even got out and sang and danced with my guests. He made everything flow and I couldn't have been happier. Our guests loved him and I would definitely recommend him to everyone I know.

Ryan was the DJ for our wedding at Drees Pavilion. We were extremely happy with the service he provided. We had some off-beat requests for our cocktail hour and dinner, and he accommodated us with everything requested. He was very flexible in meeting with us and walking us through the planning process for the flow of the reception. Many of our guests commented on what a great DJ he was and on how much fun they had at our reception! We were so pleased with Ryan and would recommend him to anyone planning an event!

Ryan recently served as DJ for my wedding at the French House at French Park. Ryan is simply amazing. He is so detail-oriented, and meet with us throughout the planning process to find out what we were looking for in a DJ. We knew after meeting with Ryan he was skilled, professional and the perfect DJ for our wedding. We expressed to Ryan how important it was to us that our guests always be dancing. Ryan had the dancefloor packed the entire night! I have had several guests tell me how awesome our music was and that is because of Ryan. My husband and I have NEVER had so much fun.

Initially, we were torn between hiring a band or a DJ. But now we know we made the right decision by choosing Ryan---he was well worth it, and turned our reception into a party! I highly reccommend Ryan for your upcoming event! He is OUTSTANDING!

Our wedding was August 13, 2011. I (the groom) was tasked with finding a DJ among my limited tasks given to me by the bride so the pressure was on. We live in California but our wedding was in Dayton, Ohio so it made it a little more difficult to find a DJ. I interviewed a few DJ's but when I came across 513DJ's and specifically Ryan Kellinghaus I knew he was the one. He was very professional and has a warm and inviting personality. He has a portal that allowed us to upload songs that we want played, songs we didn't want played etc. His portal allowed us to stay on top of payments and all. I was just amazed at how organized he was and how easy he made the process of choosing a DJ and working with him.

I never knew how special DJ Ryan was as a DJ until he started MC'ing and DJ'ing at our wedding. He truly made the experience the perfect night of our lives. Out of everything we had to worry about that day, the DJ was definitely not one of them. Prior to the event he made us feel so comfortable. We got so many comments from our guests regarding how amazing the DJ/MC was at our wedding. He read the crowd and played all the exact right music. I literally stayed on the dance floor from the time the music started playing to the time the reception had to end. I really didn't want the night to end! We even extended the night an hour because everyone was having such a good time.

We got the package with the up lighting. When we walked in the room the up lights definitely added a level of ambiance that we would never have imagined.

All in all it was a perfect night. DJ Ryan managed all of the evenings activities perfectly. If ever we need to have another event in the Dayton Cincy area we will only use DJ Ryan.

A dj certainly has a big job to keep the one big day going smoothly, and Ryan Kellinghaus has this down pat! My husband and I met with Ryan and were able to describe to him what type of mood and setting we wanted, and Ryan delivered this perfectly on our big day. He is extremely professional and understands a bride and her concerns on her wedding day! The dance floor was full from start to finish, everyone had such a great time, and all of our guests were disappointed that the party was over! I would highly recommend Ryan, and already have, to all that need a great dj in the future.

Do you have liability insurance?

Describe your DJ style:

We are a company of six DJs with unique backgrounds. We are not a cookie cutter DJ company and take pride in matching our customers with the right DJ. You'll work directly with your DJ of choice.

Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?

No limit to song requests. We want to meet with you in person to discuss music and reception details. We prefer a balance between your requests, guest requests and our ability to read the dance floor... it' three part harmony. Already have a strict playlist? We will work with you. Don't have a specific playlist and just want your guests to dance? We will work with you. Let us help you design the wedding reception you envision.

What is your usual attire?

Our standard attire is a suit and tie.

If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?

We always provide all music. Ryan has wireless broadband access as well, with the ability to download requests at your reception (although this is rare because our music libraries are enormous).

How many other DJs do you work with?

We are a family of six DJs.

What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?

There is no minimum amount of time you can book us. Our standard rates are based on four hours.

Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?

Yes. You'll work directly with your DJ of choice prior to your big day.

Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?

We have provided service for many ethnic weddings including Viatnamese, Indian, Jewish, Greek, Italian, Laotion... We celebrate diversity!

Can the client submit a do-not-play list?

Yes. We have an online planning area that includes must play and do not play options. If you hate the chicken dance we hate the chicken dance. If you love the chicken dance we love the chicken dance. We also accept music lists by mail, email, fax or phone.

Do you bring your own equipment?

Our rates are all inclusive and we provide all of our own equipment. No hidden charges.

What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?

We offer monogram lighting, uplighting, intelligent lighting, laser lighting and simple mirror ball lighting.

How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?

We arrive to set up around 90 minutes prior to our start time... earlier if we will be setting up lighting or additional sound equipment. We will request a skirted table from your venue but it is not a requirement.

Do you have any extra space requirements?

No.

Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?

No. We do not use any signs or banners. We offer business cards for those who inquire.

Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?

We are practiced MCs and will provide any announcements that you request.

How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?

The level of our involvement will be determined by you. We are not "line dance" DJs and we do not make cheesy jokes. We do not dominate the microphone. However, we read the dance floor and invite guest requests... if we notice that a particular song fills your dance floor we will immediately think of ten more songs your guests will probably like. Our goal is to get as many guests on the dance floor as possible and facilitate fun. We can get guests to form a soul train or a circle around your dance floor and more... all depending on how much interaction you prefer. We are also practiced beat mixers - we move people and motivate through music.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

We do not take breaks. We do not request meals.

Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?

We don't take breaks.

What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

We always carry backup equipment. We also have backup DJs.

Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?

We book our DJs by name. We are not a cooky cutter service. Your DJ of choice will be on your contract and you will work directly with them. Your contract locks your DJ in on our calendar.

What is your overtime rate?

$75 per hour and we will not inflate our rates on the day of your reception so we often recommend that you wait to decide on overtime until the day of your reception to avoid any unnecessary expense. If you're not ready for your party to end we'll keep it going late into the night.

Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?

We do charge for travel to events far outside the greater Cincinnati area but we will let you know if there will be any travel expenses involved. No hidden charges. We've handled events as far as Ft. Wayne, Columbus and Lexington.

What is the required deposit to secure your services?

We request a 50% deposit to lock in your date with your balance due by your wedding day.
