These services were not something we had thought of when selecting a venue, but we quickly learned are integral to making the process of wedding planning enjoyable. Starting with some inspiration ideas that you provide, they come back with various options and ideas that allow your dream wedding to take shape. At the end we had the wedding of our dreams with delicious food, excellent service and an amazing decor that all our guests loved. The Upper Crust, Jim and Dan in particular, are the only people to work with if you want to plan a Manhattan wedding!

I had checked out a dozen vendors/services before I decided to go with TUC for my wedding, and I wish I hadn't wasted so much time, and I'm taking the time to recommend to other brides not to, because I realized that there are others, then there is TUC. These people, Dan and Jim (and Jeff, the florist), seem to exist on an entirely different plane when it comes to wedding/event planning/designing and execution, and for someone who thought, whatever, weddings are weddings, they're all the same, they proved me wrong. I should also add that for something so superior, they didn't blow my budget too much. I almost felt bad getting so many compliments from my guests, on everything, especially when I barely lifted a finger. If I ever got married again (which I won't), I would sign them again, which is probably the best compliment a client can pay.

Cannot recommend The Upper Crust highly enough! Once engaged, I asked around and was counseled to make one phone call and they were right! Jim, Dan and their team of experts guided us through all stages of the planning of our big day. They specialize in boutique city weddings and were perfect for our 85 guest Saturday evening nuptials. They recommended amazing people (officiant, photographer, make-up/hair) who we adored. We brought in our design ideas and The Upper Crust brought them to life! The food was delicious and the atmosphere simply magical. When costs were climbing, they helped us reign in the budget to where we were comfortable - never compromising a thing. The night of our wedding, I didn't have to worry once because Jim was on top of everything & two steps ahead of me. Confident, classy, elegant and just plain fun to work with, call The Upper Crust. I am about as persnickety as they come and I would recommend The Upper Crust without reservation. They did all of our design and catering and suggested the absolute perfect florist, photographer and musicians. While I’ll never get married again as I’m the happiest bride in the world, anyone else who gets married in New York should do so in the hands of Dan, Jim and their incredible team. Dan was so thoughtful and personal in his approach to our design. Jim’s food and beverage suggestions and management of the planning and staff for the event was no less than stellar. I mean impeccable. Their attention to every little detail was flawless. Our guests were wowed beyond words even though they were a group of experienced world-class party goers! The extended Upper Crust family was as fabulous as its core. Pennington Flowers – stunning. Candela Productions music – the guitarist and DJ were among the most talked about post-party. Laurie Rhodes Photography – incredibly creative and truly captured our personalities in pictures! Bottom line, if you don’t use The Upper Crust for your wedding, you’ll regret it. Seriously.

The Upper Crust made our wedding into something unique, original, and very elegant. They are full of great ideas, and every detail was thought out to make the day perfect.

Having worked in the industry there was no one I would have rather planned my wedding than The Upper Crust. Jim & Dan make quite a team. Through numerous meetings they really listened to my future husband and myself. Took our personalities and made a day that was truly ours. It was beautifully beyond expectations. Our guests STILL talk about how great the food was and they've asked me to get recipes to make at holiday times!

The day of, my intended and I had not a thing to worry about but ourselves and our ceremony, vows etc. We rested comfortably the night before and were full of the ease the day off. Everything went off without a hitch, or if there was a hitch, we weren't aware. It was a great day & with the help of the team at The Upper Crust, a day we'll never forget!

A year after my wedding and friends and family are still talking about how wonderful the food was! Dan did an amazing job translating inspirational photos I brought in into a beautiful event. He, Jim, and the entire team at The Upper Crust were a pleasure to work with.

Dan and Jim re-created our favorite restaurant, which is located in Barbados.
In the end they did the restaurant better than the restaurant itself. The event was perfection from start to finish (we extended the party it was that good). No one, would have know that outside of 91 Horatio the N'oreaster of 2011 was blowing through town. We were happily dining and dancing our wedding night away all thanks to The Upper Crust!

Everything about having my wedding at 91 Horatio/Upper Crust was amazing. From the event planning to the nit-picky details of what song to play during the cake cutting, it was all perfect.
Dan was an amazing inspiration to have around when deciding on decorations, food, atmosphere, and aesthetics.
Jim was an amazing coordinator who made sure everything ran smoothly, that the bride has NOTHING to worry about day of, and who kept things running.
A process I was sure was going to be painful, ended up being fun. We looked forward to going to our meetings, and were excited about everything there was to offer.
On the day of the wedding, everything went according to plan. The food was absolutely phenomenal, I still dream of it to this day. In fact, guests kept commenting to me how good it was, months after the wedding. I absolutely recommend this location and services for anyone looking to have a truly New York, but unique wedding. I can easily say it was the best day of my life, and some of the most stress-free and fun planning I've ever experienced.

Jim and Dan were both amazing in their efforts and professionalism to provide us with the best wedding imaginable! We were new to the city on top of newly engaged and planning the wedding ourselves with very little help. They both were thoughtful and insightful on where our money would make the greatest impact and make the best memories. Jim is an immeasurable resource for all things weddings while Dan has amazing vision for what a wedding should be. Our guests are still talking about the delicious food, beautiful space, decorations and fantastic reception! The Upper Crust handled all the components of the day including the DJ, officiant and flowers which allowed for a seamless event. I really could not look back with fonder memories and know that others can have the same experience!

Dan and Jim created the perfect wedding for us - the design was superb, the food was delicious, and our families and guests had a wonderful time. We had both recently started new jobs in high-stress, long-hours professions and the team at 91 made planning the wedding incredibly easy - they were so accommodating and pleasant. The design element was really the most wonderful part - Dan conceived of a hanging trellis for the ceremony, which was raised to create a hanging ceiling for the dancefloor later on. The flowers, linens and lighting transformed the space into an elegant, intimate venue. My parents' friends were floored by the scene created. I also can't say enough good things about the servers and bartenders - really professional people.

TUC threw a phenomenal wedding for us that my family still raved about a year later. They found the perfect NYC venue on very short notice, listened to our creative inspirations and brought them into reality and served delicious food. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Dan and Jim at the Upper Crust are truly amazing. My wedding was pure magic. Everything was beautiful and elegant. The food and wait staff were incrediable. My family and guests are still talking about the wedding that was almost a year ago. Dan and Jim were very gracious and were very detailed in the planning to make our day truly amazing. I still look at the pictures and can't believe that was our wedding. The flowers were gorgeous and the ceremony music was perfect. I was not an easy client but Dan and Jim were paitent with me and took all my ideas and concerns to heart and reassured me that everything would be beautiful and it was. The upper crust is a top notch catering company. They provided great service and went out of their to make sure everything I requested was available. These people are like friends you wish you had all the time.

For our wedding, it was really important that our foodie guests, traveling from afar, were treated to the kind of fare that New York is known for. The Upper Crust certainly delivered one of the best tasting, beautifully presented, and well rounded menus we've ever enjoyed at any wedding or private event.

What's more, we could not have been more fortunate to have Dan Fehlig plan our entire event at the loft and garden at Rockefeller Center. From thoughtfully working within our budget to transform the raw space indoor/outdoor space using light design, creating unconventional floral arrangements, providing extremely professional and likable staff, and coordinating all our other vendors, to the last minute details of providing parasols for an unexpected heatwave, Dan was on hand to oversee every detail so that all that needed to be done is for my husband and me to show up and enjoy.

Years later, our friends recall ours as one of their favorite weddings to have attended for the food, staff, personal and unique experience The Upper Crust created for us. Thank you Dan and James for making everything about our wedding day truly amazing.

We went to the Upper Crust thinking it was just a catering company. Boy were we wrong. TUC assisted us with almost every aspect of the wedding. They immediately helped us find a venue for the ceremony and reception (Ramscale Studios)--it was exactly what we were looking for. Through several planning meetings at their office, we picked out a menu, decore, flowers and all those little details you don't know exist. They have a real knack for getting to know the type of party/event thhat you and your spouse want to create--they have big vision and incredible creativity. At times, this big vision can translate into a high cost, so we had to scale them back a big on budget but they were receptive. The space turned out beautiful--the staff helpful and our planner made sure everything was running smoothly and no detail went unnoticed (down to wiping down spills on the dance floor so no one would slip). Jim was our guy and man can he do weddings. Many people said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I agree!

Our wedding was nearly 18 months ago and everyone is STILL talking about it.

People still rave about our wedding and tell us it was the best they had ever attended. Despite a torrential downpour that was well out of their ability to manage, Dan, Jim and the entire staff of the Upper Crust managed to create a cozy sophisticated atmosphere that was reminiscent of something you would see in a style magazine without being pretentious. The decor was absolutely perfect, and totally customized for us. Dan helped us realize our vision without allowing us to become a cliched cookie cutter wedding. There was absolutely no stress involved in the planning because it was made clear that every detail was thought of and attended to before we could worry. Jim was absolutely responsive to every phone call and any "do you think we should" type question, and never made us feel as if we were one of a long list of clients; rather it felt as if we were the ONLY clients. The food was exquisite; mushroom ravioli, lamb chops, an amazing soup starter, and a chocolate fountain and a cheese course instead of the traditional wedding cake. I married the most amazing man that day, and I married him in the most amazing venue with the best service and most fantastic food. It was better than I ever could have imagined, and I would have Upper Crust plan another event for me in a minute!

The Upper Crust has a knack for tasty nibbles. My favorite is the crispy spring roll filled with duck. The staff definitely knows how to work a room - I always know when attending a party catered by them that my drink will always be full and I will never be far from a tray of passed hors d'oeuvres. To top it all off, when working with The Upper Crust, you get to put your event into Jim's capable hands. He is skilled at going above and beyond while making it all look effortless!
