The 9th Ward Stompers are GREAT! After seeing these guys perform at the Long Beach Crawfish festival I suggested them for a corporate work function, a New Orleans Haunted Mansion themed Halloween party. These guys are slamming. They had a room of stuffy corporate types toe tapping and a couple brave ones joined the second line. The colleague that hired then said they were reasonably priced and accomodating. They were very willing to work at budget, no hidden costs, showed up on time and in the spirit of things came in costume. So when I saw these guys at a wedding I wasn't surprised. What a fabulous wedding party entrance to this top notch jazz band. And then the entrance of the bride and groom after the ceremony with the whole wedding party doing the second line was so incredibly exciting! It had the whole room on their feet!!
You won't go wrong with this group. Traditional, professional jazz musicians that can definitely get a party going with that New Orleans sound. You won't be disappointed.

A new Orleans second line parade is a scene unlike any you've ever witnessed before. It's the only time I've ever seen a mob totally out of control and not be scared. People's bodies are bursting into spasms because they've allowed themselves to become totally submissive to the happy beat. One of the great joys of my life has been to actually provide the music for this kind of orgasmic response. It does not matter what your age or your infirmity ....as long as you can wave an arm or wiggle your nose, you can participate. It rivals food and sex in terms of the level of stimulation it provides.
New Orleans is the only place in America where this feeling can be captured in its native form...but we bring a taste of New Orleans to Southern California. We bring you a fabulous Second Line along with the smell of red beans and rice, crawfish and blue crabs and gumbo. Our Second Line is the sights and sounds of New Orleans and you will have to imagine the rest.
This band and this site are dedicated to the people and the spirit of the 9th Ward of New Orleans. It will never be the same. They will rebuild but it will never be the same.
