A Day to Remember Wedding & Event Planners

Lora Ward was such a valuable asset for my daughter who was planning her Sacramento wedding" long distance". Both Stacey and Joe are actors living in New York City who wanted their wedding to be near Stacey's home town of Davis.

Lora was key in helping make this dream wedding come true. I suppose many couples who are planning their wedding find their Wedding Planner or Day Of co-ordinator first. Not us.

The Crocker Museum Ballroom was selected as the site for the Ceremony with an evening reception in the courtyard of the Firehouse Restaurant in Old Sacramento.

In late December we met with Phillip Rice of Phillip Rice Designs and East Sac Florist. After our initial meeting with him, we were so excited by his "vision" and his talents we were certain that he was PERFECT for Stacey and Joe's wedding. There was only one problem. He was already booked for a wedding in southern California the day before our scheduled wedding! He reassured us that he would be able to handle the "decor and floral" elements but that he would not be able to be our coordinator for that day. After a few minutes of thought, he recommended Lora Ward as someone who was experienced, warm, motherly, unflappable and who was adept at handling details.

Stacey and Joe (who were visiting for Christmas) were able to meet with her one evening just after Christmas. They were impressed by the scope of services she could assist them with and that she was willing to do as much or as little as they required.

My first meeting with Lora left me confident that she could "mother hen" are far-flung group and keep us on track. "No Worries." is her motto and became mine. If I was worried, I would send her an e-mail always knowing that I would receive a prompt and well thought out reply.

Lora led us to other talented and vital members of our Wedding Team. The talented Matt Brys of Extreme Productions (D.J. and lighting), Jennifer (hair and make-up) and Sara who came to the last minute rescue and produced lovely escort cards.

Stacey handled many aspects of planning her day while in New York. Lora was always there to advise, suggest and support Stacey and Joe's vision.

Because the majority of the wedding guests were out of state, this became a destination wedding weekend. John and I were happy to open our house and to be hosts for various events. I could not have survived the Wedding Day without Lora! I knew that she had every last detail under control and that I really did have "No Worries"! As the father of the bride said, "Lora was a wise investment".

Thank you Lora Ward for being exactly what we needed! My husband and I were planning our wedding long distance (with great help from my parents who are local). We live in NYC, so most of our communication was email and phone calls. We had a floral/event designer (the tremendous Philip Rice at East Sac Florist), so Lora was needed for all the unglamorous details. My bridesmaids & friends who had been married and been through the wedding process were super-impressed with Lora. She's no-nonsense and gets stuff done! She is on top of every detail, which is what you want and need on that day and the days/weeks/months leading up to it! I felt Lora was here to serve me. As selfish as that sounds, she listened to my concerns, needs, and wishes and we were great collaborators. She has a great sense of humor and big personality, so she is fun to have around--like a Mom, but without the baggage! We had a very honest, considerate, and fun dialogue, which I will miss now that the wedding is over. Lora also led me to our DJ, Matt Brys, after meeting me and my husband, getting to know our personalities and matching them. I'll be honest, I'm a bit of a control freak-- my husband and I are both actors in NYC and have a lot of experience with putting on shows, etc. I also have experience with event-planning at non-profit. Lora made calls and suggestions that were so useful. I was resistant to some of them, but in the end, Lora was right on the money! No matter your need, Lora will be there! I highly recommend her!!!!!

Lora Ward made all our wedding dreams come true! We worked with her for a little more than a year on our 11/13/10 wedding at the Citizen Hotel. Every vendor recommendation Lora made was exactly suited to us. On the day of, we did nothing but soak in all our wedding dreams. If you are looking for a planner in the Sacramento area, you have to meet Lora Ward!

All I gotta say is.. LORA IS AMAZING! She definitely goes above and beyond to make sure all needs are met! With a baby on my hip, it was very difficult to get anything done with the wedding - well when we hired Lora, everything turned around! She made our June wedding the most wonderful experience EVER! I have to say, I wouldnt have it any other way. She was very patient with me when it came to getting back to her with my final decisions, and she wasnt pushy at all about any suggestions. She had wonderful ideas that suited me to a Q and was very much on schedule with everything! I had no worries throughout the whole planning process thanks to Lora! Not to mention, after all the hard work she put into making the day extra wonderful, she was such a joy to be around! After getting to know her, she became so close to the family that she would have been on the invite list anyway! Bottom Line: She is a Wedding Angel!! We cant wait to hire her for my sister's wedding or any future events! :)

Lora Ward is every Mother of the Bride's dream come true! We had a beautiful backyard wedding for our daughter Becca and Son-n-law Dustin in Orangevale and it could not have turned out more perfect. As any mom knows, the stress of your kid's wedding is tough enough with all the decision making, appointments, lists of people.... it goes on and on. Lora became my best friend during this whole process, when I couldn't be there she took over and she was very conscientious of Becca's preferences and our budget. Believe me that is a balancing act to behold. She managed that with class, flare and the most beautful wedding day I could have ever imagined for our girl. When our other two kids decide to get married, you can bet we will have Lora helping us with those as well.

I just want to give a shout out to Lora...You are Amazing!! Hands down, The BEST wedding planner out there!! :)

I am still in the process of planning my special day. My wedding date is May 8, 2010. Lora has been a Godsend!! I thought planning my wedding would be a piece of cake....HA!! Once I got started, I quickly realized I would need help. Lora has been everything I could have asked for in a planner. Our initial consult was amazing. She was ready to roll up her sleeves and get down and dirty. Let me tell you, She KNOWS her stuff! She has years of experience and great organizational skills. She has fun, creative ideas and her vendor referrals have been fantastic. I am more than pleased with the progress I've made and I am very excited for all that is still to come. She has kept me on track and been there for me every step of the way. I can't wait to see how everything will come together, but I KNOW it will be Fabulous! I have great faith in Lora.....She rocks!!!

Lora was absolutely amazing! She was a life saver when it came to planning everything for our wedding and for coordinating the entire day from morning to night. She was able to coordinate all the vendors and other aspects of our wedding, which made the entire experience of planning and the day of the wedding to be stress free! Her experience and wisdom of weddings is so crucial to the planning process. She planned/organized things that may have been forgotten if not for her experience and if she wasn't there to coordinate. The small yet special things that may have been missed if it weren't for her. Everywhere I turned she was there to make sure that we had everything we needed and wanted. We never once had to think about anything besides soaking in the memories of the day. We had so many complements on how beautiful our day was and how nicely the day flowed. She catered to all the guests and vendors to ensure their experience was beyond their expectations. Those memories will last forever because of everything that she did for our special day. We owe everything to her for making our wedding day the most happiest, memorible and everything we ever dreamed it would be. Thank you from the bottom our our hearts. I recommend her to anyone that wants their wedding of their dreams to become a reality!

My mom and I knew as soon as I got engaged that we were going to need the assistance of a professional to make life less stressful. Lora did just that. She was easy to work with and always there to answer questions. She took the guess work out of finding different vendors. She always had great suggestions and the vendors she recommended were wonderful. She made the wedding day completely stress free and truly amazing. I would recommend her services to anyone in the market for a wedding planner.

Lora was the best planner I could have imagined. I got married in Sacramento (I live in Austin, TX) in November 2008 and she was instrumental in my long distance wedding planning.

Her ideas were wonderful and her recommendations were spot on. She was full of ideas (things I'd never thought of or seen in magazines) and had samples of most suggestions so I could quickly see where she was going with an idea and decide it if was something for me. And, as a side note, she does not get upset if you say "that's not for me" she just provides more ideas and keeps going.

Lora helped me tremendously with vendors since I live so far from Sacramento. From her suggestions we chose our officiant, musicians, transportation, favors etc. (All at good pricing.)

Lora was in touch with me regularly, making sure I had everything I needed and that I was staying on top of things. Since I live so far away it was easy to get out of planning mode and great to have someone check in with my regularly. She saved me more than once when I forgot something. She was always one step ahead and made sure that my day was beautiful and went off without a hitch.

And I will say, I threw a few curve balls her way at the last minute and she ran with them.

Finally, the day of my wedding, I did absolutely nothing. I let all my vendors handle their area of expertise (and left Lora to oversee everything) and everything was perfect! She communicated with all the vendors, the location, etc and everything went smoothly. She even made sure we got out the door from the reception on time and that all the final details were wrapped up as my husband and I headed back to our hotel at the end of the night.

So glad I had her. She made sure everything was perfect and was worth every dime. I highly recommend her! I learned that it's not always necessary, nor ideal, to have your wedding coordinator be a pal or your friend or someone super duper friendly and nice. I was after professional, responsive, and someone who understood our vision. Lora was great for that job. She had to stand up to our venue coordinator a bit to get our vision seen through, and she did a great job.

Lora Ward, owner of A Day to Remember is a long-time wedding professional. She immediately made my fiance and I feel very comfortable and relaxed and honestly, we could not have pulled our wedding off without her. We had a lot of glitches come up with locations, finances, family, etc., and Lora took it all in stride, helped us make the necessary adjustments, pointed us to the best vendors, and just made everything work out beautifully. One thing Lora did for us that I really appreciated was pointing out several things we thought were "must-haves" that she told us were really not essential and a waste of time and money. She was right, and we saves quite a bit because of her suggestions. She's extremely flexible and can work around any budget. We highly recommend her!

Planning a long distance wedding started off being overwhelming, but hiring you was by far the best wedding planning decision that we made. You truly did tend to all the details…having someone with your expertise to guide us through the process, and do much of the legwork, was invaluable. Our wedding was incredible
