Alan Katz was our officiant. The ceremony was short and sweet. He kept all of us entertained and laughed throughout the ceremony. Our guests are still talking about our ceremony. We will always remember this special day. Thanks Alan.

We used SoCal Wedding Officiants for our wedding on 10/10/10. Our officiant was Carolyn and she was fantastic!!! From the time we first had a consult to the morning of the ceremony, through the ceremony, all the way up till time for her to leave, she was GREAT! They were very professional and always seemed super excited to handle our ceremony. Our nerves were calmed by her friendly and relaxing persona. We couldn't be happier with how everything went. Carolyn is funny, friendly and fantastic! Thank you SoCal Wedding Officiants!!!!

The service was more than I could ask for, they kept in touch throughout the wedding process making sure all paperwork was set up and ready to go for the big day.For the money you couldn't beat them.

Alan was great! He was very patient, and listened to what we wanted, making fabulous suggestions. As a result, everyone really enjoyed the ceremony, especially the bride and groom (me).

I have to say that Alan was AWESOME!! He has a wonderful sense of humor, and it really was a wonderful time. We laughed through out the entire ceremony. He was nice enough to lets wait a little extra time for all.our guests to come, which was great, since some of our guests were late due to traffic.
When Art and I were signing the paperwork, Alan could see how nervous we were and started to do jokes, and that put us in a more relaxed state for the ceremony. We are truly appreciative of how he was able to be so professional, relaxed, and funny on such stressful. day.
I happened to wear a Nightmare Before Xmas scarf, and Alan had incorporated it in the wedding, and we even sang some of the song, which made the guests laugh as well.
I would truly use this group for a wedding. Budget wise, it is very comparable to any church, and is a very comfy, relaxed setting.

Alan was amazing, he made everyone laugh and cry at the same time. He also didn't read out of a book and we were really impress how he memorized what to say all while keeping good eye contact with our guest.

Alan truly has a heart for those seeking marriage, his aim is to grant only what you wish to hear from your ceremony.

I could not have asked for more. Alan's professionalism and humor were unparalleled. He went above and beyond to make our special day as perfect as it could have been. First of all he had all of the legalities already taken care of for us and made that whole aspect of it simple and worry free. The ceremony was also more than i could have asked for. Alan truly speaks from the heart. Highly recommended hands down.

We had David Daniels as our officiant and he was great. He has a very calming demeanor which made me very comfortable that him marrying us. Since we didn’t belong to a church it was important for me to have someone that made me feel comfortable and wouldn’t push any beliefs on me. He gives suggestions on ceremony structure but ultimately will do your ceremony exactly how you want it. I was very pleased. We created our own personalized ceremony and he performed it exactly. He did forget one small poem in which I reminded him of but he still did a good job.

Alan Katz was definitely a really cool guy and absolutely hilarious! The only down side was the price...extremely high for an hour of work. I suppose if I had utelized the phone consultations or other services offered in that price package, it would have been a little easier to swallow. Truth be told, I really didn't need to ask questions or use him for anything except the ceremony. Believe me, I am in no way complaining about the service...he is worth it!

If you are not on a tighter budget, I would recommend him though, simply for the fact that he entertained our guests during the ceremony, and made the ceremony a great, light-hearted affair. I had people ask me after the wedding, if he was a comedian...apparently so! He was extremely easy to get a hold of, get along with, on time, and very professional in every way, I just wish he could lower his price a bit...I have one more daughter to get through!

He arrived at about 4:30, the ceremony started at 5:00pm and the ceremony was over at about 5:25pm.

Alan Katz was definitely the best officiant Ive ever seen. I am so glad I chose him as my officiant. Ive been to so many weddings where the ceremony was so monotonous and boring. Not with Alan, he made the ceremony unique and funny. Everyone was laughing. He was very entertaining and knows how to please the crowd. On the day of - he came VERY early so he can coordinate with the on-site coordinator and other venues. He came to see me in my bridal room to calm my nerves down and reassure that everything was going to be ok. If you are looking for an organized, very entertaining, UN-boring officiant- stop looking and save yourself some stress.

Our ceremony is still being talked about in glowing terms! I like to think it is partially due to my new husband and myself, but Alan Katz our officiant (and owner of So Call Officiant) deserves most of the credit. We had no problem setting an in-person appointment with him at his office in Long Beach and immediately we felt like he was an old friend. He also took care of the marriage license, so all we had to do was sign on the dotted line. His personality and style may not be for everyone, but if you are looking for someone who is a genuine nice person, loves what he does and is funny enough to be on SNL, then this is your officiant. He made everything so easy and relaxed that my husband and I were able to add our on “adlibs” during the ceremony. During the reception our guests made a point of telling us that it was one of the best ceremonies they had ever seen; loving, but fun like us!

Alan did a handbinding for me & my husband's 2 year anniversary. It was unusual circumstances, as we were celebrating a reconciliation more than an anniversary! It was heartfelt, very personal, and so incredibly special. Fabulous Officiant, FABULOUS service!

It really was the most amazingly beautiful ceremony, and I can’t possibly imagine it getting any better than that. You truly made that day special for us, and it was undoubtedly the happiest day of our lives. I will never forget it, and I will never forget you. I’m so glad we found you.
