Also he was very helpful when our day of planner was confusing us a little. If you are planning a civil wedding and you don't want the regular "court wedding", this is a perfect place to get married. Me and my husband were both busy with work and it was very inconvenient for us to go to court to file an application for marriage license.Luckily,we found this place where they take care of everything!All you have to do is show up at your wedding. Gaby was our officiant and she was very friendly and accomodating to all our needs.Eventhough it's just a civil wedding,she made it very unforgettable and romantic experience for us. Alan was absolutely perfect for our ceremony. He lightened the mood with tasteful jokes, made it fun without making a mockery of it, engaged all of our guests, and really tied it together with genuine care and made it feel so special. Alan Katz married us in mid January in Burbank and it was everything I hoped for! I was able to work with him on the phone and online, he was even equipped so that my dad was able to pay the balance by credit card five minutes before the ceremony started. He took care of everything! The ceremony pace was perfect and he added his own touches to keep the guests involved. So Cal Officiant is amazing! Alan answered any questions I had and helped us with getting our marriage license. We chose Roger Lundblade as our officiant and he made our wedding the best experience we could have possibly had. Roger was funny, ad made our ceremony very personable and unique. I had many guests come up to me afterwards and tell me how great they thought he was. My husband and I were married on 1/14/2012 and only had about 2 months to plan everything. Alan Katz was absolutely amazing!! Upon our first meeting we knew that he was the perfect officiant for us! He was humurous and professional at the same time. He helped to keep us calm in the tumultous time we were in. His door was always open whenever we had questions our concerns. Our ceremony was romantic, comedic and memorable all at the same time. We were debating on video taping the event, and ultimatly decided to do so. My mom was sooo glad we did, she said that ceremonies are usually all the same, but after ours she had to admit it was very unique and was very glad we had the video to look back on. We've had so many positive comments about our wedding! About how different and memorable it was. I couldn't have asked for anything better!!

Alan was exactly what we were looking for. He was very funny while at the same time maintaining his professionalism. Quite a few of our guests had asked where we had gotten him from. So we had Alan perform our wedding and all I can say is...awesome job! I had always wanted a traditional wedding with flair and he was willing to give me my flair. He did the Princess Bride wedding speech as my greeting and even tried something new with us since we did a Unity Cross ceremony. He was right there making the rehearsal and ceremony flawless and I can't thank him enough! Even when rain and a plane (no, the rhyming is not on purpose) tried to foil my day, Alan kept everyone, including me, laughing!

Alan was fantastic! Throughout our year of planning, Alan was always quick to respond to emails and phone calls. FUN, FUNNY and FUN.....are three things that i expected for my ceremony. On the day of my wedding, LAUGH, MORE LAUGHING and EVEN MORE LAUGH are what i hear in the audience. Even though i was very nervous because i'm hearing impaired but Alan is very supportive and help me get through the whole process of ceremony. We got married June 18th and I could not have been more satisfied with Alan. My husband and I loved Alan! He met with us and answered all our questions. Walked through all the steps. EVERYONE at our wedding commented on how great Alan was! He was funny & romantic just like me and my husband! Alan is the BEST!

I have to admit I was a little wary at first to pick So Cal Officiant and Alan Katz to perform our wedding. I had looked at the website, videos, reviews, etc and I was afraid it would be all goofiness and no romance. But I was running out of time and my husband-to-be seemed to like them, so I booked them... And boy, words cannot express how wrong I was to be apprehensive! First of all, within an hour or two of contacting them through the website, Alan called me. He remained that prompt throughout the whole planning process. The tools on his website allowed me to create my perfect custom wedding ceremony from home, which was convenient for me since I live out of state. There are so many add-ons and extras available so that your ceremony is tailor-made especially for you. When we did meet with him, he went above and beyond to help us, not only with the ceremony planning, but with the whole complicated marriage and marriage license process. And he's so personable! He allowed me to create my whole ceremony FROM SCRATCH, even working with my husband and I to keep our hand-written vows secret from each other until the ceremony. He also worked with us through last minute scrambling and provided us with many things that we forgot to get ourselves. And the ceremony... It was so romantic and sweet! Alan's funny comments were perfectly timed and in no way over the top. They actually really helped break up the tension, since I was pretty much crying from beginning to end! lol! Carolyn was the most wonderful officiant and made Bobby and my wedding day the best day of our lives. We knew that we wanted a private ceremony. We did not want to go to the courthouse and deal with all the chaos there. I did a lot of research on Officiants and local wedding chapels. I picked a winner. I sent an email at five a.m. on Sunday morning that we wanted to get married that same afternoon. I got a call back from Alan at about eight thirty in the morning. I simply had to fill out the online application and submit it back to him. So, we went and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the location was. Some of these places are really tacky. He escorted us in, it took a few minutes to do the paperwork and get some signatures, we then went into the Chapel and he performed an AWESOME ceremony. He is witty and knows his stuff. This is the guy. I would recommend him to friends, family or anyone I know. By the way, he travels too. If you want to get married at the beach or other location..he does it. My fiance' was nervous. I believe Alan really made him feel comfortable. I am so happy with the entire experience, there is nothing I would have changed. After the ceremony, we went down to Shoreline Villiage and had a great dinner. We sat outside, it was sunny and warm and celebrated our marriage. What a day. Thanks Alan!!!!

We had Carolyn. She was so funny I kind of wanted to take her with me after so the laughs could keep coming. Oh wait, they kept coming anyway. She was great! And trust me, when you planned to go to the courthouse to elope and 30 people come barging in to say they want to see an actual "wedding", it's kind of stressful. 10 hours later, Carolyn handled it beautifully!
As for the chapel, well, I'm not quite sure what to expect from a wedding chapel, but it was clean, the bridal room was nice, large, cozy. The bathroom was clean and stocked. I give it an A+.

Alan Katz is the best wedding officiant ever! From the moment we met him at his office we knew we picked a winner. My husband and I are the shyest people on earth and being as nervous as we were, he made us laugh and really feel comfortable about our ceremony.

The real fun started with our rehearsal where he made both of our families laugh and get together. From creating a secret code (kicks and spins) for our mothers rose ceremony since they were there, to making our families more comfortable by getting chairs for our elderly parents to sit, he even got them to talk to each other... he was amazing.

The wedding was filled with the groom being sick, technical difficulties with grooms vow music, planes interfering, glass crushed on the 2 count and the roses were missing for the mothers rose presentation. Alan pulled it off so flawlessly that everyone was laughing so hard. His timing on jokes was impeccable. Alan made our wedding wonderful. He is funny yet romantic. We did the Elvis wedding because it was a second wedding and we wanted something special. How could Alan not have all 5 star reviews? He was absolutely amazing! Everyone loved it! I loved it! My bride loved it! EVERYONE! My brother and his fiance run a high end wedding photography company out of New York City. They go to weddings every weekend and they said Alan was BY FAR their favorite officiant EVER!
We got married on a pier in Long Beach and Alan would wave to the people passing on boats and include them in the ceremony. A helicopter flew over(it is long beach) and he incorporated that into the wedding! Now everytime Jen and I see a helicopter we kiss and think of our special day.
As I stated above, I got married on a public pier in Long Beach, it was supposed to be a very relaxed low key wedding. Well, the permiting process was a nightmare! The people in the city government bounced us from person to person and wouldn't call us back. This dragged on for WEEKS Alan steps in and gets everything taken care of in HOURS!
If you have a stick up your ass, then Alan is not for you. If you want a day that you can remember, then Alan is definitely your man! Romantic, funny, witty, great!

Alan Katz was the officiant for our wedding ceremony on October 24, 2009 at Ponte Winery in Temecula. He really helped set the tone for our low-key, fun-filled wedding!!! His ceremony took my husband, myself and our guests on an emotional roller coaster - there was laughing, cheering, crying, and more laughing. We had the time of our lives on our big day, and have Alan to thank for that. Many of our guests informed us that it was the most fun they had ever had during a wedding ceremony. He really understood who we are as a couple and what our expectations where for our day. He took charge and kept our wedding party on track during the rehearsal and kept us cool and collected during the ceremony.

We actually decided to use Alan, because my husband witnessed one of his previous ceremonies and got his business card. I would refer him to anyone who is planning a wedding because he really makes it worthwhile and memorable. We will always think of Alan fondly when we look back on our wedding day!

David Daniels married us on Sept 12, 2009 and I'm so glad that he picked us:-) He made our wedding day a truly wonderful and happy experience!!! We met him about a couple of months before the wedding for a consult and he was so personable, friendly and undemanding!!! Alan Katz just performed my wedding in July, I was completely nervous and he worked with me to make sure that I was as calm as possible. My decorators mixed my sand together for the sand ceremony and Alan got me more and saved the day! All of my guest commented on how impressed they were with Alan and my ceremony!! I have several friends planning a wedding right now and I have sent them all to Alan!

I am in LOVE with So Cal Officiant. I originally booked Alan and he TOTALLY 'got' us. They have the option to do a comedic (non-denominational) ceremony which is exactly what we wanted. A couple weeks before the wedding, Alan had to go out of the country but he gave us his top guy David. David was absolutely amazing! He put us at ease with pre-wedding stress, he was able to pick up everything Alan left for him and he had our family and friends in stitches -- they loved him! I HAVE recommended them to friends and will again and again

Our ceremony is still being talked about in glowing terms! I like to think it is partially due to my new husband and myself, but Alan Katz our officiant (and owner of So Call Officiant) deserves most of the credit. We had no problem setting an in-person appointment with him at his office in Long Beach and immediately we felt like he was an old friend. He also took care of the marriage license, so all we had to do was sign on the dotted line. His personality and style may not be for everyone, but if you are looking for someone who is a genuine nice person, loves what he does and is funny enough to be on SNL, then this is your officiant. He made everything so easy and relaxed that my husband and I were able to add our on “adlibs” during the ceremony. During the reception our guests made a point of telling us that it was one of the best ceremonies they had ever seen; loving, but fun like us!

Rev Ralph Barlow from SoCal Officiants provided a beautiful, "short and sweet", ceremony that was tailored to our traditions and time frame. We were lucky to have found him at the last minute and he was very accomodating and professional. Rev. Ralph was EXTREMELY organized!!! He already had a template of his ceremony format(s) which he emailed to us and allowed us to make the changes that we wanted. He was very accomodating and even allowed us to incorporate our own wording and Filipino traditions of the veil, cord and coins. His organization and promptness was so helpful since it made everything so much easier. We trusted him 100% to be there on time and provide a beautiful ceremony for us. Rev Ralph did an amazing job for us on our wedding day and made everything so meaningful and memorable for us. I couldn't be happier with his services!

Our Officiant was David from So Cal Officiants and all I can say is he did an amazing job! We wanted our ceremony to be fun and light hearted, and David captured it and kept the crowd smiling throughout the service. We were so pleased, and David was offered some great advice and helped keep us calm during the ceremony, which was a hige plus!

Highly recommend Edgewater chapel if you want to walk down an isle in front of your family (and unlimited friends watching on the live web cam). Alan was an amazing officiant and will cater to whatever type of ceremony that you desire!

Alan is great at what he does. He can improve when the situation calls for it and is very respectful to the couples' wishes. My husband and I eloped and he was able to sing a song for me as I walked down 'the aisle'. He is wonderful and always available to talk.

My husband and I eloped to Vegas in August of 09, and planned a formal ceremony for family and friends when we returned. We renewed our vows and had a reception at The Vineyards in Simi Valley February 20th 2010. Alan was the officiant and he did a great job! We wanted a ceremony that was fun and lighthearted, just like our romance had been and continues to be.
