Chuck and Vera were the best choice to be our dj. They went above and beyond what was ask. Vera help que the bridal party when it was each girls turn to go down the asle and Chuck made sure everything was going great. We decided to use Chuck because he was a family friend. We are very happy that we did. We were not an easy couple to deal with as we didn't finish picking out our song selection till the last possible moment and was still able to accomidate us. I found their commitment to service refreshing. Our event was not a wedding, but a fund raising event for a local children's non-profit organization. As you can imagine, our budget is less than desirable for most DJ services. I believe the attitude & commitment to professionalism expressed by the owners of A Sound Choice proved that there are still good quality companies out there who understand what it means to be a service based business. I especially appreciated their flexibility when something unexpected occurred at our event, causing them to become the rescue crew. They really went above & beyond their call of duty. They were extremely pleasant to work with and I'm sure we will enjoy having them again considering how well they took care of our event DJ needs.

A Sound Choice DJ (Chuck) was wonderful. He defianately helped in making our day memorable. Even though I have been married for a year and a half, everytime I hear special songs that Chuck played for us I get teary eyed. Music can make such a beautiful memory and I am so happy that Chuck was the DJ that was able to provide this. The pride that Chuck takes in his work and to making it all about the bride and groom is very apparent. Chuck and Vera were amazing! They made our ceremony and recpetion run so smoothly. They are both very approachable and did everything in their power to make our wedding exactly what we wanted. It was great to have Verakeeping us all organized. She was wonderful at gathering the wedding party and making sure we were all where we needed to be for those special times during the reception (toast, speeches, entrance). Chuck is an awesome DJ. We still get compliments on how fun our reception was. No one wanted to leave the dance floor and he knew exactly what to play based on the crowd he saw. There was never one of those awkward moments where people stop and leave the dancefloor because the song wasn't appropriate. I guarantee you will nothing but impressed if you book Chuck and Vera to accomodate your wedding!

FAQ for A Sound Choice DJ Entertainment
Disc Jockeys (DJs) are very popular because we can play anything under the sun and usually have a larger repertoire than a band. Many people prefer this option to a live band, and it is definitely a less expensive alternative. DJs come in all shapes, sizes and energy level, all with varying styles. DJs range from absolutely great to most obnoxious. Some feel they are the evening's entertainment and will bring strobe lights, costumes, props and games - usually quite inappropriate at a wedding reception.
The ideal professional DJ is someone who is neat, dresses appropriately, and has high-quality equipment with no loose cords or wires exposed. They will also have a large (and legal) music selection of songs, welcomes input from the bride and groom, has a nice speaking voice but doesn't use it unless there is a good reason, uses a cordless microphone and carries an insurance policy. A great DJ makes a good party even better. They will play mood music for the meal portion of the evening. The DJ may also act as an emcee, if you wish, and announce your arrival at the reception, announce when the food is being served, call individual tables to the buffet line, and announce the toast, cake cutting, first dance and bouquet and garter toss. A professional DJ can 'read' the crowd and can get everyone on the dance floor.
Because some companies have several DJs working for them and you may not know who your DJ will be, arrange to meet with the actual DJ for your event to describe how you would like the reception handled. Also discuss your choice for your first dance, whether there will be a father/daughter dance, and whether the parents and wedding attendants will be joining in and when. Most importantly, let your DJ know your music preferences. Most DJs don't want a specific song list for the whole event, although special song requests should be honored. No matter which DJ you choose, you are not on their books until they have your deposit and signed contract. We received a call from a groom who was desperate to find a DJ for his wedding two weeks later. He and his fiancée thought they had a DJ reserved because six months before, they had talked to a DJ they really liked. The DJ knew the date of their wedding, and the couple thought that was all they had to do to reserve him. When they called, he had another wedding booked for their date. The DJ had not received a deposit or contract from the couple and thought they decided to hire someone else. Don't let this happen to you - follow up and book the DJ you like so your date is held for just you. Some DJs book events for the most popular dates up to a year in advance.
