Deena could not have made me feel more special and I found the dress that was made for me at a very resonable price! She did my alterations for me as well and that was included when you purchased a dress from her. Everytime I went in the shop I never wanted to leave and she let me stay there as long as I wanted and never felt rushed to leave. I have gone back to show her a picture since our wedding and have made a new friend in Deena! I really lucked out!

Overall I had a good experience with A Special Touch. I enjoyed my dress and turned out almost exactly as I had hoped. When I found the dress it was quite a few sizes too big and we decided to rework the entire gown, which would make it one of a kind! Dena is very personable and does make you feel very special as a bride. She did a good job, but there were little things along the way that were frustrating. Example: I bought the dress in February (my wedding in October) and had fittings along the way. I assumed that at these fittings I would be seeing the progress of the reworkings of the dress. Not the case. Everytime I went in I would just basically put the dress on for my own amusement. She did a little work along the way, but the bulk of it came a week before my wedding day. Each time I had to remind her of what we were doing to it. And when I went in to pick the dress up (special trip from out of town), it wasn't ready. Granted, she did get it ready for me same day which was great. I was a little disappointed in the bustle, the side seams and the buttons in the back upon pickup. Luckily I had a family friend at home who could help me fix some things that weren't taken care of. We had a bustle loop come out completely, the zipper and buttons didn't lay flat so we had to put some hook and eye closures to finish that and there was a large silver hook right in the middle of the dress bustle (totally visible on my diamond white gown) so we had to move that. All in all, my experience was good. Dena is very nice, creative and talented, but I think she could do a few things differently to make sure her finishing is spot on. Only mildly disappointed. Would still recommend this shop.

I never had a negative experience with Dena. She made my dress perfect - people said I was prettier than Kate Middleton, which was a cute compliment. She was prompt and professional. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law have been going to Dena for years and have never had a bad experience either. My bridesmaids all had their dresses hemmed beautifully, and the busts all fit well too. A great experience!

This story had, in my opinion, tacky dresses. There were not many classy dresses but the prices were unbeatable. What I do like about this shop is the ability to custom make your dress and your bridesmaid dresses. The designer buys the fabric at wholesale price and then sells it to you at wholesale price. A GREAT DEAL. I plan on clothing my entire party this way.

When i first went into this store, I loved it. Everybody was so nice and made you feel so important. I liked them so much that I had Dena make my bridesmaid dresses. NOw, along the way there were little things here and there that were frustrating (i went in one day for my fitting around 1 oclock and the girl at the front desk, dena's daughter, threw a fit that she was going to miss lunch. then they made me reschedule my fitting, even though i had all my bridesmaids and my mother with me) but for the most part I was happy until the girls picked up their dresses. i mean there were certain things that i had to tell her repeatedly that she would forget to do or fix, but that still wasnt even the biggest problem. when the girls picked up the dresses, they were terrible. they were all different. 2 of the girls had en extra panel added on the back that wasnt supposed to be there, one of the girls had 2 panels added onto the sides of her dress that were very visible (like dena had measured wrong and just threw 2 more pieces of fabric on the skirt), one of the girls had a liner that hung lower than the dress, another girl had a liner made out of almost a burlap material, so you could see how stiff it was under the dress. the neck line was totally crooked on one of the dresses and all the sashes were crooked. they were green sashes with a "keyhole" instead of a bow. the keyhole was not in the center of the back, it was pulled to the left, bc it was too short. and my flower girl's dress was supposed to have a bow on the back, but it didnt. and they were more expensive than we were quoted.but the worst was my maid of honor's dress. she had gone to her final fitting and it just had a few minor adjustments. but when she brought it home to try on the finished product, it was completely different. her straps were so crooked that one was under her arm and the other was in the middle of her breast. the seam that was supposed to be under her breasts(where the top of the sash started), cut across the middle. she was also the one who had the liner hanging longer than the dress. she had picked it up the day before the wedding, and called them as soon as she tried it on at home. they told her they were closing in 20 minutes, so they couldn't fix it that day (REALLY???). so she brought it in first thing the day of my wedding. they told her that she could pick it up in 2 hours. when she came back 2 hours later, they had not touched her dress and made her wait 30 minutes before they even talked to her. she finally tried it on and showed dena what was wrong with it. dena just took the seam ripper and ripped half the seam of one of the straps. she didnt touch anything else on the straps. the neck line was bowed out and when asked about it, dena brought her a piece of double sided tape. this is a dress that she paid $150 dollars for and she was given double sided tape to hold it into place.up until the day before the wedding, i would have suggested them to anybody. but now, i would not suggest them to anyone. not only were my bridesmaids upset that they had to pay for these terrible dresses, but i was embarrassed that i had asked them to buy them.

I used this store to have my wedding dress altered. First, they made three appointments with me for a final fitting and to pick up my dress and cancelled on me three different times leaving me getting my dress back much closer to my wedding date than I was comfortable with. I also tried to use them to get my bridesmaid dresses but after multiple vists to the store and phone calls they repeatily forgot to check on prices for me or follow through with my needs. My dress ended up overall turning out good although the alterations were not 100% perfect. The store seemed nice at first appearance, but seemed to busy to follow through and finish the job they started with.

Well, what can I say. It has been a year and a half since I got married and tonight I received photo books of all my wedding pictures. I look at my dress and get sick and angry. I wrote a review before the final product was revealed --- I wish I had not. My wedding was at the end of July and I went to discuss my dress and place my order in February ----- and by the middle of July, Dena HAD YET to start on my dress -- all she would say is "oh, it will be done in time". She canceled appointments on me at least 3 times. THREE DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING, my dress was STILL NOT DONE!!! She rushed it and made the bust too small. We complained and she said that it would be alright -- I hate seeing it in pictures. The seams pull and the neckline does not lay flat. She rushed through and did a horrid job. To top it off, the $165 price changed to OVER $300 -- we were taken and could do nothing but pay. To this date, I well up in tears when I see the pictures. I WOULD NEVER recommend going to this shop. I wish I hadn't.

I had my dress custom designed through Dana at Special Touch. She is a very gifted seamstress and made my dream become a reality. I was able to get the wedding dress I wanted for about a 1/3 of the price. She also sold me accessories such as earrings and a cute Asian inspired purse. She will let you come in for as many fittings as it takes to get it just right!

Did a wonderful job with my dress. Service was outstanding and her alterations were flawless including the sleeves she added to the gown for me.

Deena (the owner/operator) was very friendly, but was horrible about communication. I was told that my dress was $350 total. I put $100 down to hold the dress and gave her $400 later, the difference to be put towards my bridesmaids' dresses. Well, when I told her 6 months before the wedding that I didn't need the bridesmaid dresses after all, she said I could have a refund, but would I call her back in a couple days. When I called her back, she said I couldn't have a refund, but I could use the store credit for other items. Because I live an hour away, I agreed, but it would have to be later that I redeemed that credit. When I stopped by to pick up my dress and redeem the credit, she said that my dress was $400 and the tax had eaten up the rest of the credit, with just a few dollars leftover. I told her to keep the change and left. :(

The first interaction I had with Deena, I was tickled. She's a very personable seamstress, she found my perfect dress in one try, and she did the alterations free. My dress turned out beautifully, although with a close inspection, I kind of wonder if she was in a hurry when she did the touch-up bead work. My biggest complaint was that I overpaid. Mom put $100 dollars down as downpayment, and I came back and paid in full, with the extra $100 being "put towards my girls' dresses." When we found the perfect dresses for my girls elsewhere, I asked for a refund of the $100. I was told that it would be no problem, it just had to be cleared with Deena. So I waited. A couple weeks later, I called back. I was then told that she could only give me store credit, would I like to buy some shoes or jewelry? I said I wasn't ready to pick those out, I'll call back. I called back later, and was told that Deena does not give refunds, that the $100 was to hold the date for my wedding, and that I only actually had about $30 leftover anyways, because the dress was (and she quoted a price higher than she'd given me the day we bought it).Deena is an enthusiastic seamstress, and a personable one. However right now I think she has too much going on. Her business is slipping out from under control, and her brides are suffering because she can't keep it all together. Unless she cuts back and takes on only what she can handle, I would not recommend her to anyone.

This place is amazing. I took in a bunch of pictures of wedding dresses that I liked. I only liked bits and pieces of each one. I went everyone looking for the perfect dress. The lady at A Special Touch sat down with me and helped me design my own dress. It was designed just for me and fit me perfect. The price was amazing. It was only 750.00 for her to design and make my dress.
