A Sweet Design

We used A Sweet Design as part of our wedding package through the Odyssey. We were given three bakeries to choose from and we decided on a sweet design. Their cake was delicious during our tasting. It was moist and the frosting wasn't too sweet. They also offered more unique flavors than the basic chocolate, white, marble, etc. We ended up deciding on an apple pie flavor for the bottom layer, oreo for the middle, and pink velvet with a strawberry splash for the top. All of it was delicious. We received many compliments on the taste and look of the cake. People were asking what kind of frosting was used because it was so good. There were also several people that went back for seconds on the cake to try the different flavors. I highly recommend them.

I have used them for my daughter's birthday cupcakes and they were such a hit. I decided to go non traditional for my wedding using the same, we had a beautiful set up. A Small display cake and the rest in cupcakes- EVERYONE loved them!

Top Notch All the way!!! Beautiful cake!! Delicious options!! Very professional! I was nervous about the cake portion of our wedding because at some bridal faires the cake vendors always seem to be like cakes that you buy at the grocery store. Not this place! This place was EXACTLY what I had dreamed off! A beautifully designed cake to make our wedding theme. And because my husband and i are a fan of real frosting and not fondant frosting, we had ordered a couple of sheet cakes to be cut up for the guests....At our tasting the flavors were too incredible to miss out on the real frosting that complemented the cake! My favorite was the pistachio cake!!!! Guests were amazed by it too! And the Oreo cake is always a crowd favorite! Delicious, moist and soft cake!

A Sweet Design was the second bakery that I went to for my wedding cake. I love the one on one you get with cake consultant at A Sweet Design. I felt that they really wanted to hear what I wanted my wedding cake to be. They had a ton of different icings as well as cakes to try when it came to our taste test. Our wedding cake was beautiful. They are reasonably priced and will work with you if you have a budget.

I had a 3 tier cake done in dulce de leche, s'mores and candied almond crunch. Came out beautifully and everyone said it was the best wedding cake ever. We had them put fresh flowers cascading down one corner and it looked amazing. Also they have the best frosting ever! They're worth every penny!

A Sweet Design delivered everything we wanted in our cake. Right of the bat they were friendly and helpful. I loved our visits with them. Their flavors were imaginitive and delicious! I could have asked for a better experience and product! Thanks Ladies!

My husband and I were really excited for our cake, the flavors we picked were amazing, we tried several different places and nothing came close taste wise. However they promised us that everything would be perfect and the cake would look amazing. I had confidence in this bakery but on the day of my wedding, I went to glance at our cake. To every brides horror, I saw a hole and knuckle imprint right smack on the side of our cake! Come to find out from our maid of honor, it was from the delivery guy. He put his hand in our cake so we couldnt get any good pictures of it! When my maid of honor asked if there was anything he could do to fix it, he said "No, its fondant, sorry" and left. We paid ALOT of money on that cake and weren't able to take pictures, I was sooo upset because it was the only thing besides my dress that I cared about. When we called to see if they could refund us for delivery fee, after several phone calls they did refund us. I do have to say, the cake did taste amazing and besides the hole it looked like what I asked for.

A Sweet Design made the most DELICIOUS Red Velvet Wedding Cake for us! It matched our vision perfectly! Everyone said it was the "best cake they've ever had!"

The cake was very simple yet elegant which is exactly what we wanted. It was a lot more affordable than some of the other bakeries out there. The staff is very friendly and they did a great job on our cake. We are looking forward to them making our one year anniversary cake which is also included in the price...much better than having to eat the top tier which will probably taste like freezer burn in a year!

My husband and I are frequent visitors of A Sweet Design, so there was no question when it came to booking our cake designer/baker. Joeleen and the team at A Sweet Design not only made a tasty and creative 3-tiered cake, but they made the whole process smooth and fun. Joeleen came up with the great idea to do a duet of cake for dessert to compliment the fact that we had a duet of proteins for our entree. We went with a banana cream nutella slice of chocolate cake and an espresso slice of vanilla cake. She also worked with us to have the top two tiers of the cake be fake, to cut on cost and time (we had sheet cakes hidden in the kitchen for the reception). I loved that they created the base out of wheatgrass.
Also, at the last minute we decided we wanted to do a macaroon party favor, and A Sweet Design not only stepped up to the challenge, but they stuffed the boxes we bought.

My parents and I purchased our BEAUTIFUL wedding cake from A Sweet Design. We ordered a tiered cake for 150 pp and sheet cakes for the remaining guests. My father who has very particular ideas about his cake got EXACTLY what he wanted for a quarter of what he planned on spending. He was thrilled!!! When the father of the bride is happy... the bride is happy. The cake was beautiful... white and bavarian cream.

My cake turned out exactly as I'd envisioned it. They said they'd never done a mehendi design before, and it looked exactly how I wanted it to. Was very pleased and one of the guests even asked me for there contact info because she wanted them to do her wedding! She thought it tasted amazing, as did everyone else. Loved it!

A Sweet Design made me the most beautiful wedding cake I could ever ask for! I have had so many compliments on not only the appearance but also the flavor. I can't count how many weddings I have been to that had bland dry cake. But A Sweet Design made the most delicious cake I've ever had. I will definitely use them again.

Our cake was absolutely gorgeous and so delicious!

We live in AZ and got married in CA, so my mom did the initial tasting and loved them. We came out this summer and they did another tasting for us so we could decide the flavors - all of them tasted so good! We decided on one flavor of bavarian cream and rasberry, and the other nutella and chocolate. It was so moist, as I know a lot of cakes tend to be a bit dry.

The design was so beautiful. We did a 4-tier round cake - white with black ribbon at the base of each tier. They did like a vine design doing up at an angle. I had a vision of how it would look, and when I saw it day of the wedding, it far surpassed my vision. We got so many compliments not only on how pretty the cake was, but how delicious it was too.

Would highly recommend!

I set an appointment after reading the reviews and since I lived nearby. I had originally planned to make my cake with a chef friend but was looking into less stressful alternatives.

When I walked in for my appointment there were tons of people in there. I stood in the back for 10 minutes before someone finally asked if I had an appointment or even said hello. This is something I could have brushed off had it been the only bad experience of the appointment.

Finally I have a meeting with her and there is other people standing very close by to hear everything. The interview table was squished in the front of the small store and it was a bit uncomfortable. I began to tell her I was originally going to make it, she interupts me and rudley says "well then your not going to like anyones price" She had a bit of attitude and seemed like she just wanted this finished. I felt she was upset because of my comment and it made me really uncomfortable. We continued to the rest of the appointment and she gave me a price quote. She couldnt do my shape because she didnt have the pans and gave me her price. I shopped around and asked and found it was more expensive then everyone I asked AND they were getting more.

I decided not to go with her. If my appointment hadn't been met with such hostility I might and probably would have made a completely different decision. Unfortunatly I was not happy with them . I went with a new girl opening her new buisness. Her cakes were amazing and her prices phenomenal!!

We received such wonderful comments from our guests about our cake. Everyone loved it! It was neopolitan cake with layers of red velvet, vanilla and chocolate cake divided by dark chocolate ganache, cream cheese, and raspberry jam. It was to die for! Thanks for a unique cake that was so elegantly presented.

I LOVE Joeleen and A Sweet Design. Her work was impeccable and the cake tasted AMAZING!! We got alternating vanilla and chocolate cake layers with chocolate mousse and raspberry preserves and it was absolutely incredible. I would highly recommend A Sweet Design to anyone looking for their wedding cake. Everyone wanted a second slice!

We couldn't decide between A Sweet Design and another vendor. It was seriously a toss up. We decided not to move forward with Sweet Design but I had to write a review on how great Joeleen and her cakes are. She seriously has amazing customer service!! She was highly recommended by our DOC and I can see why. She spent a lot time with us and when I asked her if we could try different cakes then what she initially gave us at our tasting..she was more then happy to pack us another tasting to go. She is super talented and I can see why she receives such amazing reviews. Her cakes are moist and tasty and her pricing is super reasonable. I will definitely refer her in the future to friends and family!

A Sweet Design is AMAZING!!! We decided to check this place out because it was just a couple of miles from my parent's house. She had an appointment later in the day which was great because I work long hours and when we got there she was nothing but friendly. The cakes we tasted were fabulous and she was totally willing to listen to the things I wanted for our cake. I wanted cupcakes with a baseball shaped cutting cake and they did it to a "T"!! Four different flavors AND the amazing cupcake tower, decorated in our wedding colors were all part of what we got and we couldn't have been happier!! My best friend even got a job at A Sweet Design shortly after our meeting with Joeleen!! They now have their cupcake shop open and it's amazing!! I'd totally recommend them to EVERYONE !

We sampled many cakes, this place blew everyone else out of the water. Joleen was amazing and patient and she even let me do a second tasting so that my son could help in the process. The passion fruit is the absolute best! The cake was so beautiful and so tasty! Guests were very happy. I can't wait till next year when Joleen will make our anniversary cake! I would highly recommend A Sweet Design!

My sister recommended A Sweet Design when I was looking a special cake for an important occasion. The owner herself helped me create the perfect theme. When it was delivered, it more than exceeded my expectations for design and taste!

While I was ordering the cake, I picked up a few cupcake and my husband loved them.

My wife and I still rave about the cake that Joeleen from A Sweet Design made for our wedding this past November 2009. We had tried all those larger cakeries like Portos, Kings Hawaiian, and some of the smaller places like Helena Wirth Cakes, but A Sweet Design definitely won us over. Joeleen was very professional during the entire cake process, gave us a good number of samples of her work to try, and was very personable in helping us make a decision. We decided on a fresh mango mousse/tiramisu/chocolate raspberry combination for our 3-tiered cake. The pricing was very reasonable considering we had to feed 400 people. We were very nervous, because like everyone else, we wanted our wedding day to be perfect. And it was! Joeleen delivered the cake on time, and it was a beautiful sight for our reception! The cake presented exactly like how we designed it, and the cake was ultimately so delicious and moist! Joeleen even provided a stand so the cake appeared taller. Everyone who had a piece said great things about the taste and flavor. Overall, our cake experience with A Sweet Design was excellent! We highly recommend this cakery!

Our wedding cake actually took my breath away. Joeleen knew exactly what we wanted from the minute we walked in and, more importantly, didn't look at us sideways when we described a Dia de los Muertos wedding cake. It was a pleasure working with her. And, the cake was delicious!!!

Joeleen was absolutely amazing to work with and our cake was absolutely stunning. We had 3 layers, each its own flavor (the chocolate-mint layer was DELICIOUS, and the carrot cake is some of the best I've ever had), with buttercream icing. She is such a warm and inviting person with great communication skills and people skills. We gave her a basic idea of the cake we wanted at first, she let us look at some pictures, and I ended up drawing a picture of the design for the cake that I hoped for. She was so inviting to the process and never once tried to push something that I did not want.
And, her prices are incredibly reasonable on top of all of that. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how great the cake tasted.
I'd recommend A Sweet Design hands down to anyone in the LA area looking for a cake baker.

Our cake was personal, special & SO tasty. A Sweet Design was so patient with us through the design process and finally helped us come up with the perfect design and in budget. Our top cake didn't make it a year due to lack of freezer space and 6 months later, the cake was still moist and tasty. The filling wasn't exactly what we ordered, but I wasn't totally disappointed because the cake was still so good! I was very thrilled to find out that we get a free anniversary cake a year later (now I don't feel bad for stealing my freezer space back). I would definitely recommend A Sweet Design for your big day!

Joeleen was so easy to work with and her cakes are SO good. She had a big selection of fillings and let us pick whatever we wanted. She made suggestions but was very open to our design and mixing fillings up. We were completely happy with our wedding cake.

Joeleen made a beautiful wedding cake for my wedding. The design of the cake was exactly what I wanted and what we had discussed. It was simply breath taking!!! I loved the color of cream ribbon she made and it perfectly matched the flowers on the cake. She is very easy to work with and gave me some great advise.

Joeleen also had wide variety of flavors and I loved all of the smaples tried. I loved the fact that she was ready to provide samples when we showed up on time for tasting. My husband and I chose tiramisu cake for our wedding and it was one of the best cake I had. I was afraid that the sample we had and the actual wedding cake won't taste the same but my wedding cake was very tender and delicate in flavor. My guests loved the cake and many people got more than 1 slices.

You will not believe how amazing Joeleens cakes are...you have to go in for a tasting! I had her cake at a friends wedding and then mine. People kept asking me, "where did you get your cake, it was so moist!" I love her and would go to her again when I need a cake for any occasion.

I am not much of a cake person, but after I tried the black and white cake with bavarian cream and chocolate chips at our tasting I was craving that cake! Her ingredients are fresh, she has hand crafted recipes, and she's very knowledgeable about her craft and weddings in general. I was also so impressed by her portfolio and her designs. When she saw pictures of our venue, she offered to make the design more beautiful and complex for the same price because she felt as a designer she could give us something that matched the mood of our location. The cake came out stunning and looked immaculate for the pictures. We were so pleased to find Joeleen!

Our wedding cake from A Sweet Design was everything we could have asked for and so much more!! Owner Joeleen was such a pleasure to work with. She is so sweet and was always responsive to phone calls and emails, and her creativity and experience really helped us turn our idea into a beautiful reality. All of their cake flavors are delicious, especially the dulce de leche... the best cake I've ever tasted!! A Sweet Design even made an adorable bride and groom cake topper out of fondant for us that was a real crowd pleaser. We're still receiving calls from guests telling us it was the best cake they've ever had and raving about how beautiful the cake and cake topper were. As if all that weren't enough, Joeleen even gave us a bag of goodies at the wedding, including incredible peanut butter cookies and brownies that you can buy at her bake shop, for us to enjoy later. I also love the fact that A Sweet Design will make a mini cake at your 1 year anniversary so that you don't have to try to freeze the top tier of your wedding cake. I cannot say enough good things about Joeleen and A Sweet Design, and I highly recommend them to everyone!!

Joelene is so nice and responsive. She made us exactly what we wanted, although it was hard to decide. All of her cakes were so delicious! People are still talking about how good and beautiful the cake was

Joeleen is amazing! We tasted at Torrance and Rossmoor before, and while they were good, we weren't completely happy. As soon as we walked in I knew we'd found our cake! You can tell right away that she genuinely loves her job. Joeleen was super friendly and creative - as soon as she saw our monogram, she was able to design our dream cake. It was everything I wanted - and at a VERY reasonable price!

As for the cakes - wow - I almost devoured the whole plate by myself! We sampled six different flavors, all very distinct, and they were all amazing. The cake is moist, the fillings are tasty, and I especially like the fact that she has tons of choices - definitely not your standard wedding cake. She can also provide the flowers for the cake, which made things easier - no need to coordinate between baker and florist.

I can't say enough good things about her! I'm so excited to see our cake on the big day!

Update (7/4/09) - I LOVED our cake on the big day. It looked even better than I'd imagined - Joeleen really outdid herself. Also - very importantly - our guests also looooved the cake. We'd ordered a cake for 100 people, and we had 70 at our wedding, and not a crumb was left. I've always been told that most people don't really eat the wedding cake, but that was not the case at our wedding! The colors, the design, everything turned out perfectly and I couldn't be happier. It was delicious - moist, not overly sweet - soo yummy. We're definitely going to be ordering an anniversary cake from Joeleen!

Joeleen makes beautiful and delicious cakes! Our cake came out better then the samples we tried. We were lucky enough to get two days of samples, and we ended up with a 3 tier cake of mint chocolate chip and tiramisu. Our guests complimented us on the taste and the design of the cake. Joeleen can work with your budget and is great with design. She makes great suggestions, is totally professional, has a great sense of humor, and knows her stuff!

No joke, we heard "the wedding cake was worth every calorie" a number of times. We already knew we loved the cakes from A Sweet Design, but our guests confirmed it. I have pictures of some of them with two and three pieces. Everybody loves this cake. We were super excited to tell everyone about our cake and I think that we built it up, but it lived up to the hype. Joeleen and her team set us up with the most fantastic cake we have ever seen. It was unique and special and we loved it. They also did our groom's cake, which was gorgeous. It was a poker table with an Ace High Royal Flush in hearts across the top. It tasted amazing as well! We did specialized flavors and it was still less expensive than the other bakers we tried. And we tried them all. You cannot go wrong with A Sweet Design!

I began describing my dream cake to Joleen as she sketched out the design. We decided on cupcakes displayed on a gorgeous square tiered cupcake stand. I had seen many other cupcake stands that were flimsy and or cheap looking and could not accommodate a large number of cupcakes, but Joleen had a one-of-a kind stand that can be decorated however you choose and make the cupcakes appear stacked just like a real cake. I began tasting many wonderful flavors, all were moist and delicious. I was particularly impressed by the white cake with mango-filling.(I chose this flavor for the top tier, bride & grooms cake). Joleen was professional and helpful in all of our meetings. On the wedding day she arrived on time and set up the most beautiful cupcake display ever! Jolene created a unique and delicious cake for our wedding. I wanted something modern with peacock feathers and my beautiful crystal cake topper. Everyone raved about how tasty the cake was and I can't wait for our 1 year anniversary cake when we can try it again.

Excellent, fabulous, wonderful and the list will go on. Joeleens cakes are amazing I would suggest you have to go in for a tasting. In the ceremony all our guests kept asking about the cake and the innovative creations. Believe me the cake was wonderful and Joeleens did great job. She paid attention to every thing that we wanted. Apart from that her creativity did a miracle in our wedding. The cake was moist and super tasty.

A Sweet Design has the best cakes and I wouldn't imagine going anywhere else! My cake was unique and beautiful for my April 2009 wedding and everyone raved about the flavors... Red Velvet, Pina Colada, and Black and White with Chocolate Chip Bavarian cream and Raspberry. YUM!

Very satisfied, very happy and would definitely recommend. We had a 4 layer cake - absolutely TO DIE FOR. I didn't get to eat anything on the day of the wedding, HOWEVER, made sure I had cake. Everything I was looking for, Joeleen did.

1. Design - I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted but we spoke about the colors, theme, our personality, etc., and made a perfect design. She is very knowledgeable in sizes, unique shapes, materials she can use, themes she can cater to and will help you come up with the best design just for you.

2. Taste - Out of all the flavors, fillings and icings she can do, we chose 3 different pairings for each of our layers and chose our favorite for the top layer. We had Fruit filling with Rum Cream on White Cake, Vanilla Bean Cream inside Red Velvet and Black & White Cake with Coffee Filling. It was amazing and delicious and everyone LOVED it. You also don't have to save the top layer because she gives you a FREE Cake to enjoy on your anniversary!

3. Professionalism - She is super busy but makes time to answer all of your questions and makes sure she has all the details down. They delivered on time, in perfect shape and always kept to all of her appointments and her word.

I plan to use A Sweet Design for all of my party needs whenever I need Cake. She does Cupcakes, too.

Joeleen is remarkable. She was patient with us at the tasting, worked through my pictures of what I liked to come up with a gorgeous design. The cake was so perfect not only was it beautiful it tasted amazing. She is passionate about her work and has cake flavors no one else has. Reasonable prices, for the best cake ever! We went to a lot of the “top notch” bakeries but NOTHING beats A Sweet Design!

I absolutely loved everything about my Sweet Design Experience. Joeleen was a joy to work with, she created the cake of my dreams....it was so beautiful!!!! If I could do it all over again I would pick Sweet Design in a heartbeat:)

A Sweet Design made our cake for our wedding last March 14, 2009. It was the most delicious cake i ever had. Joeleen the owner is so easy to work with, she is so talented! My husband's relatives asked us if we have more cake left the day after the wedding :)

A Sweet Design is an Exceptional Cake by Design business. They exceeded our expectations by providing us with a wedding cake of excellent quality that was not only beautiful, but delicious as well. The price for the cake was excellent in comparison to other cakes that were overpriced and compromised the taste of their cakes with lavish decorations. The owner of A Sweet Design was in one word "Exceptional." She was very attentive to detail and offered suggestions on the cake creation. She was flexible and always available to make any last minute changes that might have been necessary. The result was a "Dream" wedding cake that my husband and I as well as our wedding guests will never forget!

Exquisite crafstmanship at a terrific price. And the taste was to die for. Joeleen is very talented and can work with you to create the cake of your dreams. If you bring her a picture there's a good chance she can copy it. My cake was decorated with a metallicy dust and tons of fresh flowers. Tons and tons of compliments. All 155 slices were devoured.

A Sweet Design was amazing!!!! Joleen did a wonderful job designing the cake and also went out of her way to make sure the flowers were perfect on the cake. She had to deal with my florist from hell, unfortunately, but paid out of her pocket to make sure she had enough flowers for my cake. The cake tastest wonderful and I received many compliments from my guests. I would highly recommend A Sweet Design to anyone!!! :-)

The owner Joeleen Medina was attentive, kind, funny, professional, and made the most gorgeous cake ever. Not only was it beautiful to look at, it tasted fantastic. Our guests are still commenting on how good it was! She not only does Wedding cakes, but lots of other events as well. The cost is very affordable and I highly recommend this business.

I can not say enough about A Sweet Design! They have wonderful customer service and there cakes are so delicious!! I love the variety the have when it comes to fillings. But personally i can not get enough of there toasted coconut with cream filling :). What I also love about A Sweet Design is that you pitch your idea about the cake you are looking for and what you recieve is always more then you could imagine! I look foward to ordering more cakes through out the years to come. Thank you for the cakes you have made for the people that mean so much to me.

i only gave her 4.5 out of 5 for service because i dont think my cake turned out exactly as we had discussed. my cake had a different icing pattern than we had agreed upon, but evenso, it looked absolutely beautiful!
the 3/5 for value for cost is because she is pricey. when it comes to weddings, you get what you pay for. if you get a cheap baker, it will look cheap. her cakes look beautiful, but they dont come cheap! evenso.... my cake from her cost more than the dj!

Joeleen was wonderful to work with. She sat with us and designed the cake exactly as we wanted it. It looked perfect! She was open to ideas, and offered great suggestions. The cake tasting was so much fun! She gives you lots of choices and the combinations she offers are unique and VERY tasty. She was a pleasure to work with, and the cake turned out fantastic!

We had visited about six "recommended" wedding cake specialists prior to arriving at A Sweet Design in Granada Hills. The specialists that had been suggested to us lacked creativity, their recipes were less than drab, and the cost was not in alignment with what they presented to us. We had decided that if we did not find what we wanted after visiting A Sweet Design, then we would just do without a wedding cake.

We made an appointment with the owner, Joeleen Medina. We were cheerfully greeted, and when we sat down and explained what we were looking for, we felt that for the first time, someone was actually listening to us. Joeleen brought out quite a few different types of cakes, frostings and fillings for us to taste. Our eyes immediately lit up after tasting them because one was better than the next.

Joeleen spent as much time with us as we needed to ensure that we were happy with the choices that we made. As we were leaving, after placing the order for our wedding cake, my future husband said, "Now I'm excited."

The cake we ordered was a custom design and very detailed. When the cake arrived the day of our wedding, we just stood there looking at it. It was exactly how we had pictured it, and our guests are stilling raving about how unique and delicious it was. Joeleen is a master baker and very knowledgeable about her craft.

We are sold on A Sweet Design, and would hardily recommend them to everyone.

First and foremost, Joeleen's wedding cakes are the most delicious cakes that we have ever tasted. We had already booked a cake 3 months before our wedding and decided to back out on the cake one month before our wedding to go with Joeleen. She was extremely professional, responded very quickly to our phone calls and emails, and was extremely pleasant to deal with. We met her at a wedding expo, booked an appointment a week later, and 3 weeks from our wedding we ordered a wonderful cake that all our guests loved! There was actually no cake left, and several of our guests went back for seconds. We were lucky that we asked for a 4th tier, which we were able to take home with us and enjoy again the next day (we couldn't wait a whole year to eat it!). Joeleen and a Sweet Design will be our first choice in cakes for all occasions, and we will recommend her to all our friends and family.

Joeleen was amazing. She understood our desire to have a great cake, but not spending a small fortune on it. She worked with us to find the perfect balance between the two. In the end, everyone raved about the cake and asked who the baker was. It was one of the best parts of our wedding day.

Joeleen is fantastic to work with and always so thoughtful in considering your event. The passion fruit filling, an original from A Sweet Design, is light, delicious, and even after the cake tasting I find myself craving that very flavor weeks later. I have been engaged for over a year and been very careful with who I work with in making sure every aspect of my wedding will run beautifully. I have no doubt in my mind that Joeleen is one of the most professional and top notch when it comes to service, reliability, and quality. I highly recommend A Sweet Design!!! I had been on the search for the "perfect cupcakes" for my wedding. What was required of these perfect cupcakes? Well they had to be tasty, beautifully & uniquely displayed, and affordable. Sounds easy, but it was a lot harder than one would think. I went to so many cupcakeries and was ready to forfeit the dream...BUT then I met Joeleen! Joeleen's cupcakes were tasty, and affordable, and better yet she was able to replicate a cupcake tower/display that I had been ogling but could not afford. On our wedding day, the cupcake display turned out even better than I had imagined. It was so beautiful & modern looking! And even better was the cupcakes themselves were so delicious. A Sweet Design has the most creative and delicious cakes I have ever had. The owner Joeleen is such a sweetheart and so talented with her designs, if you can imagine it, she can create it for you. I have used A Sweet design for several occasions and I am blown away every time with the quality of their work and attention to detail. Best of all they are reliable so I never have to worry. Joeleen offers such a variety of flavors and designs that you just can't go wrong and everything is just as yummy as the next.My favorite is the Vanilla Chiffon Cake with Cappuccino Mousse filling. A Sweet Design is by far the best bakery I have ever used (and believe me I am picky!)The cakes are amazing to look at, like a piece of art. I couldn't believe I could find someone who could design these amazing looking cakes that tasted as good as they looked! Joeleen, the owner is so helpful and professional, but also friendly, not an easy combination to find in any business. The chocolate cake with raspberry filling is to die for not to mention the vanilla custard filling with dark chocolate chips! Last but not least, these amazing creations are actually affordable. Now that I have found A Sweet Design I have them do all my events whether it be a birthday party, fundraiser, or to impress guests for a dinner party!

I was looking all over my city for a certain cake. I had the idea and the budget but couldn't find any help. I went to four bakers in my area that didn’t get my vision or come in at the price I could afford. I was told by a coworker of mine that I didn't have to look anymore and to go see Joeleen (owner and baker) at Sweet Designs. She did all of their custom cakes.

I have to say from the moment I started talking to her she already drew what I saw in my head. I was like “okay so how much” and she came in right at my budget with assistance of balloons that were at a store next door to her. I have to say this very clearly.. She said “I will deliver the balloons you bought next door and the cake”. I was in tears. Joeleen is so nice and down to earth. She also speaks Spanish and that helped at the balloon store next door. She has more designs to choose from than I have every seen and she can make what ever you want custom.

This cake was for a surprise party for my fiancé’s 35th birthday but we are getting married May 2008 and we are going to her for sure. You will not go wrong with Joeleen she is the best. The balloon shop next door is not bad either.

After shopping around we knew A Sweet Design was the bakery for us. We were so happy and impressed by Joeleen that we told another couple about her. They are getting married in July and already booked with her.

My entire experience with Sweet Design was wonderful. They offer really great and unique flavors and combinations. The guava filling is my favorite. The cake was absolutely beautiful, and they did a great job in accomodating my requests. I definitely would recommend them, and have already placed an order for an upcoming birthday party.
