A Very Special Day

Aaron with AVSD was exactly what we needed and wanted in a DJ. He was the first vendor we booked and couldn't wait to see what he'd do for us on our big day. ...wow, what a great night we had. I danced alllll night long. Trust me -- I AM NOT A DANCER! I look ridiculous! But who doesn't want to dance on the night of their reception?! Aaron was professional, prompt, met with us twice in person before the wedding, and responded to emails quickly. I am so pleased with AVSD! And - their price was EXTREMELY reasonable. We even got LED lights thrown in. We booked him more than a year out, as our wedding was 11/11/11. I just can't say enough good things. Everything we wanted, he did. He didn't play ANYTHING I don't like (Gaga, Ke$ha, etc) and was just fabulous to work with. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Aaron was our DJ and he did an amazing job! He was able to get the guests up and dancing while playing a great variety of music. I would recommend him without hesitation!

Richard provided exceptional lighting and monogram services to us. When i saw our venue for the first time the gobo (monogram with our name initals in the middle of the dance floor) along with our uplights hands down was the perfect touch to making our wedding a DREAM wedding. We had so many compliments on the uplights inside and outside of our venue. In additional to the great product, richard came dressed for the occasion!!! He looked very professional and I wouldnt have chosen any other company or person to be apart of our VERY SPECIAL DAY :-)

Aaron from AVS was the definition of perfection. Aaron is so professional and met with me several times to ease my worries about song choices, the flow of our ceremony and reception, gave me fun and unique ideas and was all around just amazing. He pays extra attention to details and creates your night... exactly the way you've always envisioned it to run. He has great song suggestions and can help you decide which songs are best for the guests at your wedding. He arrives on time, prepared and ready to work. He also came to my rehearsal which I loved - it was nice being able to run through the day EXACTLY the way it would happen... it definitely calmed my nerves!DO NOT GO WITH ANYONE ELSE... AMAZING, all the review are correct. My only regret is not letting AVSD do all the lighting, and DJ services. If you can, do the love story and play it at your reception, I am still getiing calls about how unique and cool everyone thought it was. Our poor camera guys I know had to have been so hot, but I never remember seeing them once things got started! They worked with my photographer and DJ and I just can't wait to see the video!!! This review just doesn't do these guys justice!!

Having Richard and his team as my DJ and lighting, was the BEST decision. During the planning process, I was very particular with my vendors. Customer service was #1 and he gets a 10+. My expectations were exceeded, which is pretty hard to do :). I did not think it would be that important to sit down with him beforehand to discuss the flow of the event and he let me know this is required and our meeting went fantastic. He sat down with my mom and I and went over so many different songs, made great suggestions, came up with games to play to keep the guests involved...etc. My husband I thought that our wedding would actually be quiet and very relaxed; Richard changed the entire atmosphere and mood of the wedding. The guests had a ball with the games he suggested. I thought I did not want games at the wedding and it was highlight of the evening. Regarding the lighting, the way he positioned the lights and spot lighting to hit the arrangements were perfect. Should I have any events in the future, I will high AVS Day. Everything was perfect and you can tell that he loves what he does. He does not treat you like a business, but he will take time to figure what you want and make it that much better. I cannot say enough wonderful things about A Very Special Day! They provided lighting and DJ services for my January 8 wedding, and they were perfect. They made it easy for me to coordinate everything by phone since I live out of town and did not get into town until the Thursday before the wedding. Aaron met me at my hotel and could not have been more professional and accommodating -- including finding song requests that were a bit out of the ordinary (e.g., a pep band version of Can't Turn You Loose and the Final Four One Final Moment Song). At the reception, Aaron made everything run smoothly and played great music (which several people said was the best selection they had heard at a wedding). Aaron went above and beyond -- when our wedding party was delayed getting to the reception venue, Aaron delayed the food service and brought coffee to the bride and groom while we waited outside for our entrance. He also was the MVP who found the flower petals for people to throw when we didn't know where they were. Aaron indulged our terrible karaoke and happily played music when the couple and the last stragglers returned after a quick lap around the parking lot for more singing and dancing. A very special day made our reception worry-free and perfect for guests of all ages.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of working with Aaron for our wedding at PK Lake. He was absolutely fantastic! He was great about working with us on options for our outdoor setting and offered lots of great suggestions for everything from venue setup for best sound, song suggestions, reception ideas and logistics for our get-away. We both felt very confident that Aaron had a good understanding of how we envisioned our perfect night. Unfortunately, we had an unexpected emergency the day of our wedding and Aaron did a great job of taking over and keeping the party going. I have received so many compliments from guests on the music and atmosphere that he provided. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone I know looking for a great DJ that can also think on his feet. Thanks again, Aaron, for everything you did; we would not have been able to have such a great time(in spite of everything) without you.

I want to start of by saying that my wife and I planned this wedding and had no clue what we were doing half the time. We came across A Very Special Day's booth at one of the wedding shows and really liked what they had to offer. They didn't email me a thousand times or call every five mins. They were very professional. They asked what my budget was and what services I needed. They then were able to set up a DJ that could do what I wanted at the cost I wanted. I was luck enough to get Aaron as our DJ. At the first visit he got a feel for what type of music we wanted, the style of wedding we wanted and catered everything to reflect that. What I didn't bargin for was how much help he was besides being our DJ. He was able to give advice on thing we could do during the reception, ideas for songs we could play, on toasts from the groom, I could go one forever. Two weeks before the wedding he set up a final consultation. We still had a few holes in our music selections and Aaron gave great advice and let us listen to songs that he thought would be a good fit. Of course they were great fits. The music was great. He really kept all the guests dancing and having a good time. He was able to get everyone from teenagers to grandparents on the floor to dance. I would highly recommend A Very Special Day and Aaron to anyone. On top of doing our DJ service AVSD also provided uplights. When we first contracted for the DJ they gave us a voucher for some money to be used towards lighting. The voucher, plus some money of our own provided great uplights, spot lights and a Monogram initial for the wall. AVSD can do it all

Our DJ was Richard McClure and I could not have been more delightfully suprised with his services! As soon as you book your wedding, he should be the very next call! From our brief meeting, he got a good sense of who we were and was extremely adept in translating that into entertaining our guests. He masterfully kept the energy going among my sedate bunch of wedding guests. My husband is a fairly shy person and Richard created an environment where he was able to enjoy the night more than I thought was possible. He truly went well above and beyond all my expectations.

My wedding planner recommended Richard for DJ services with no hesitation, and when we first met him we knew he was our man. Since we were planning our wedding from out of town, he was very flexible to accommodate our schedule, going even above and beyond to do a video session with us when we simply could not meet with him in person. He made our reception so much fun by playing exactly what we requested, and he knew exactly how to emcee and just go with the flow. He also made our reception very special by playing songs that were unique to our culture that was so unexpected. We also decided have AVSD do our lighting, and that gave our wedding the extra 'icing' on the cake. It made our reception look exceptionally beautiful in photos!

Everyone of my guests commented on how great the dj was and were very impressed with how he controlled the flow of the evening. I used the videography and DJ for my wedding. The DJ was Aaron Lehman. He was great and easy to work with. He was always willing to meet up anytime and make changes. He was very helpful on the day of the wedding. I highly recommend Aaron.I didn't have a lot of communications with the videographer, Ryan Brown, until a couple of weeks before the wedding. After talking to Ryan, I felt he knew what he was doing so I left it up to him. He was also easy to work with. However, I can't comment on the video since I haven't received them but I'm sure it will be good.I also used lightings through AVS. Everything looked great. The only thing I was disappointed was the initial monogram gobo light. It was too small on the dance floor. Other than that, everything looked the way I pictured it. Thanks.

Words can not convey how extremely pleased we were with our lighting!!! It was as important to the decor as the carefully planned flower arrangements,tableclothes,cake, and china. We were not confident with our ability to define our lighting needs for the wedding. There is so much that can be done and we have limited experience with lighting technology. Richard McClure with AVSD Productions came up with the perfect plan to create the ideal mood and feeling our daughter dreamed of having on her special day. It was magical!!! It tranformed the entire room into an incredible atmosphere way beyond our expectations!!!!Of all the $$$ spent on wedding, funds for lighting was well spent! ASVD PRODUCTIONS will always have our business not only because they are pros when it comes to detail but they resoled all the breakdowns that can happen when your planning and something goes wrong. Richard was a great DJ to work with. He was the first vendor I hired and did not look for any other DJ's. We also added the lighting from this same company and we were sooooo pleased! My husband and I totally recommend Richard of a Very Special Day to everyone! If you want your reception program smooth, hire them. I did not have to worry about what was coming next during the reception, Richard took care of keeping track of time and making sure we got to the cake cutting, games, dances, etc. He is just awesome!!! The lighting was a hit and everyone loved it as well.

I highly recommend Richard Mclure. He was not only an awesome DJ but an awesome MC and coordinator. He helped make sure everything came together in the wedding and that's something the average DJ doesn't do. His assistants and videographers did an excellent job and everyone was very professional, and they all made sure that we were happy every step of the way. A Very Special Day also did the lighting for our venue, which absolutely accentuated all of the decor that we had and the high ceilings in the room. I couldn't have been more happy with all of the services they provided for my wedding. :)

Richard, from A Very Special Day, is a one-of-a-kind DJ. For my wedding, he provided all the music for the ceremony and reception. He executed everything we asked him to do for us perfectly. Even went beyond our expectations. He has a sound system that is unique to all the others out there. He has great ideas, makes it fun for all age groups, and was the highlight of my wedding. Until this day, my friends, family, and guest of the wedding are still saying how great the DJ performance was at my wedding. My advice, don't risk hiring someone you're unsure of. I've used Richard before, and I'm passing on my own personal experienced that I've had with A Very Special Day. He was worth every dollar we invested in him.

Richard and his staff were AMAZING on our "Very Special wedding day!" Couldnt have asked for anyone better. He did the little extra things that make it all worth it. He was only suppose to be our Dj, but he did so much more. Richard McClure and his staff were wonderful! They provided videography and lighting for my wedding. The event was a huge success in part to A Very Special Day. I had the opportunity to see his work before I even thought about getting married as he did my cousin's wedding as well. The video is great- I cry (tear of joy) every time a see it.

AVSD did a great job with the pre-wedding video, the wedding/reception video, and the DJ gig. The quality of the work was outstanding and Richard's sense of humor added so much zest to the celebration. Showing our pre-wedding video at our rehersal dinner was a hoot...Richard actually came to the rehersal dinner to project it on the restaurant wall. Aaron was a fun DJ and both he and Richard helped with the timeline and planning of the wedding and reception and essentially were my wedding planners!! Richard also gave me leads to other vendors to assist with the decorations that helped save big $$$. I wouldn't hesitate to refer couples(and I have) to AVSD. The videos and pictures of our wedding are priceless and I'm so glad I spent the money to do it right...After everythings over....all thats left is the groom(hopefully) and the pictures/video!!

Richard was absolutely fantastic! He helped us throughout the wedding planning process and provided some great advice on all aspects of the reception. The first time we met with Richard, he asked what I had invisioned for my wedding day. I told him I wanted a big party and for my friends and family to have a blast. He offered a wide range of music and many helpful ideas. Just the other day (2 years later) a friend of mine commented that my wedding was the "most fun wedding" she had ever been to. Vision accomplished! My husband and I have since reffered Richard for several weddings. Did I mention he traveled 2 hours to reach my wedding? It still didn't cost an arm and a leg!!!Thanks Richard!

Let me start out by saying Richard McClure and his company not only was a great person to work with, but I LITERALLY don't think I could have done this wedding without him. He was able to take charge of the rehersal with all of my out-of-town family/friends and he found the very specific music I wanted for our wedding ceremony -- chinese erhu. He showed up plenty of time before anyone else, kept everyone entertained while we took photos, and even made my husband and I "to-go" boxes of our dinner b/c we had no time to sit and eat! Ladies-- if you leave the DJ planning to your fiancee and you end up meeting Richard thank your stars b/c your soon to be husband picked a great DJ!! (Thats what happend to me :D )

Aaron is an awesome DJ! My husband and I are so happy we hired him. In our meetings prior to the wedding, Aaron was great about suggesting music (what would work well and what wouldn’t) and giving us a timeline and order of events for our reception. He definitely knows his stuff! At the reception, Aaron played great music the entire time and the dance floor was never empty. He’s good about making announcements and “emceeing”, but without being obnoxious. The first thing my mom said to me when my husband and I arrived to the reception was “I love your DJ” and she ran up to tell Aaron how much she enjoyed the music. A Very Special day was amazing from start to finish! My guest all loved my DJ Richard and said it was the best wedding they have ever been to! I would recommend them in a heart beat for any Bride who is looking for a stress free day.

It was great! He was able to recommend wireless speakers for our space which worked out really well to carry the sound and he did a great job of going with flow and making adjustments as need.Great DJ and we would definitely use him again!Just want to let you know quickly how great your performance was.Literally everyone could not stop talking about how perfect your song transitions were and how you built the music up to keep the dancing going. I have not been to a wedding that had that much participationand happiness on a dance floor.

A Very Special Day did an amazing job for the low cost of our video. They were on time the day of the wedding despite the horriblel weather. They captured every good moment throughout the wedding and did a terrific job with our video. I would most certainly recommend their services if you are on a budget or even if you aren't. They were awesome!

Virginia of course Richard is the best as he has such talent in music i mean he is providing for people the best music and he could be as good as all popular DJ in the world, but i didn't like maybe the price as it was little bit to high but anyway i was satisfied.

Richard (AVSDay.com) was an amazing DJ. Everything was done to the "T" for all of our requests and specifications. AVSDay is a full service vendor that will provide as much or as little as you require for your event. We used him for the DJ function, lighting, announcing, etc. It was all very hands on, always available for questions, very professional, and not a single mistake was made for our wedding. I would recommend Richard and his crew to anyone who asked for a DJ recommendation. They have a special way of keeping everyone involved, having fun, and keeping all facets of your function running smoothly through all transitions. Richard was great. Not only did they do our lighting, videography, and DJ, but they also went the extra mile and helped us decorate too. He had lots of fun entertainment ideas, and great advice and selection of music. He's easy and fun to work with. He was the best price we could find by far, and by far the best we looked at.

Our videographer showed up early to the ceremony and made sure to get everyone that needed a microphone set up. I got to listen in on my groom talking to the priest about how he knew i was "the one" just before the ceremony began. That is something i will never forget!!!!

Richard to is an exceptional DJ and did a wonderful job at our wedding. He catered to our needs and made sure our request were met. He knew how to set the mood for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The lighting in the reception enhanced the room and made it look beautiful. We overall had an amazing experience, we had some delay hearing back from the videography side. But once it came down to the day of the wedding, everyone was on point. We haven't seen the video yet, but i'm sure it's amazing.

Everything looked great!! The lighting was perfect!! We got colored lights around the dance floor and the plain lights around the sides of the room, it was awesome!! They came on time and I didn't have to worry about a things except getting beautiful for my day!! I definitely recommend getting the gobo lights...They are personalized lights that are amazing, we got some great photographs from that!!!

Initially we were planning on doing the iPod wedding - but I'm so glad that we hired Aaron to do our wedding. I think the biggest thing that I hadn't considered was WHO was going to coordinate at the reception. Aaron worked directly with the venue, our band, and our wedding party to make sure everything flowed perfectly. Since he was coordinating, it let me feel like I could circle around and see guests and he would come and get me as needed.He had a very thourough list for what we wanted and what we didn't want at the wedding. We loved everything he played.Would definitely recommend Aaron to anyone needing a DJ!

We really liked Richard after our first meeting with him, so we booked him. We were given a discount because our wedding was on a Sunday and we were able to get free uplighting (which can be expensive) because of a bridal show special, but his normal rates are a little high. He & his staff were very professional and we got a lot of compliments on how he was great at keeping things flowing and reading the crowd. He had a lot of great suggestions to keep the flow of the buffet line good and to get everyone on the dance floor without forcing them. Everyone had a great time so we would definitely use him again!He wasn't very good at responding to some emails, but only toward the end when wedding season really picked up, so I'm sure he was busy. We were always able to get in contact with him over the phone. We did give him a play list of "must play" songs, but most of them didn't get played. There were a few other very minor mishaps, but like I said, he played good music, people loved him, and we all had a great time!

Richard is very busy so he was a little hard to get a hold of, but it wasn't a problem because the Sales Director was always available. Other than that he was really nice and very easy to work with - definitely excited and passionate about his work. We loved how our reception site turned out with the paper lanterns and lighting, but were surprised that no one set up a spotlight on our head table - a few guests complained it was a little hard to see us.

We used AVSD for DJ and lighting. Our DJ (Shawn) did a really good job. He kept our guest going the whole time and never got off schedule. He also did a good job of feeling what our guest like in music and only played what they would dance too. In my opinion the DJ can make or break a reception and he defiantly made ours fun. The lighting at our wedding was also very good. They set everything on time and in the right spots. I feel like they were a little bit pricier on the lights than I hoped, but it was nice to only have to deal with one vendor and cover two portions of our wedding.
