Working with John Howard at A2Z Music Factory for our Wedding on March 9th, 2013 was truly a great experience! From our initial consultation John provided the perfect combination of unique ideas and insights as well as flexibility to help us construct our perfect wedding night. My husband and I are crazy about music and dancing so we came prepared with a detailed song list but John was able to introduce us to new kinds of music that we absolutely loved and just had to incorporate into our big day.

My favorite thing about our wedding was the flow of the evening and in the beginning our thought process was a little fragmented. John really listened to us and understood what we wanted and with his extensive experience and knowledge of what works and what doesn't work he was able to guide us into a flow of the night that was perfect and accomplished all we set out to do. One thing we set out to do was have a busy dance floor for the last couple hours of the night and we successfully did so! There was a flow to the dancing that John created as well with his selection and order of songs. Young and old alike spent a lot of time dancing and there were no abrupt transitions from one genre of music to another, which means no one felt alienated or uncomfortable on the dance floor.

John is positively a professional in every way. He helped us create a detailed itinerary, arrived early for set-up, had every piece of equipment imaginable (photo booth & props, uplighting, wireless speakers, inconspicuous microphones for all that required one) AND he helped organize all of our bridal party members to make sure everyone knew where they were supposed to be and when - not an easy task! Because of this preparedness everything went off without a hitch!

We had no doubts that John was going to be great but he totally exceeded our expectations in so many ways. If you want a worry-free DJ experience, we HIGHLY recommend you hire A2Z Music Factory for your event.

No one will work harder to make your wedding the most memorable day of your life than John. A perfectionist to the core (he built his own photo booth machine because the ones for sale didn't meet his standards), John pays attention to every single detail to make your wedding an awesome experience. To cover the basics, YES his DJ playlists are perfect, YES his up-lighting is amazing (and he can change colors with the touch of a keyboard and make the lights beat/change with the music) and YES his photo booth and props are the best out there (we had cardboard cut-outs of famous people, light sabers, fun hats, etc AND our guests got to carry them out to the dance floor). Oh yeah, he throws one heck of a grand exit as well! And everything (equipment, playlists, microphones, etc) is backed up, no day-of disasters allowed!

But beyond that, its John's character and work ethic that stand out. From couple's counselor (my husband wanted to play punk during cocktail hour and I wanted country, lol), to entertainer extraordinaire (he up-light our bar during the reception ceremony to keep with our party vibe) John was genuine, trust-worthy and made us feel like family. He is THE wedding entertainer!

How John exceeded my family’s (very high) expectations.
1.) John helped incorporate a very special father daughter dance, one in which my dad and I got to sing part of the song (using John’s recorder) with other songs that we got to dance to. John even made a last minute (as in hours before the wedding) special edit to this father/daughter song at my dad’s request.
2.) John knew EXACTLY what to suggest for songs when we couldn’t think of ones on our own.
3.) The night of the wedding was absolutely perfect thanks to John’s diligence, preparation, and constant reassurance that he would take care of us as the bride and groom.

What our guests enjoyed most:
1.) The lighting of our reception was the most beautiful and breathtaking. You “felt” how amazing the room looked.
2.) Special bride and groom game, suggested by John, revved up our crowd.
3.) The dance floor NEVER cleared from the minute it opened up! Even people (and their husbands) who self-proclaim themselves as non-dancers were on the floor dancing!

John far exceeded our expectations for what a DJ can do for your wedding day. He was patient and flexible, super informative, affordable, and he truly has a great passion for his work. He is very experienced and creative, he knows the function of a wedding day inside and out, he thinks about all those small details that make your wedding day extra special, and he made our wedding day run smoothly, which is a big big big importance when selecting a DJ. They don't just play music, there is a special talent to it and John is the only DJ I met with that showed he had that something extra! All our family and friends were awe struck by the lighting detials John did at our venue, he was able to turn a conference/banquet hall into a beautiful, romantic, and fun atmosphere. All of our guests complimented John, they all loved the music, and the lighting, everyone had the time of their lives dancing and laughing all night long. Literally from the moment we arrived at our reception John took over and made sure everything went according to plan If something took a few minutes longer or shorter, he just adjusted the schedule slightly to keep us on time overall. His interaction with our guests was outstanding. He knew exactly when to play a specific song to keep our dance floor packed the whole night. We didn't have an exact set list, we let him pick most of the songs and it was incredible. A2Z Music Factory was what made our day absolutely perfect - truthfully better than we could have ever imagined. When we got to the reception hall, I was honestly nearly brought to tears at how amazing A2Z made the place look. The lighting around the room was phenomenal - it transformed the room into a tropical paradise. They even put lights in the fountain in the middle of the room!! The logos with our names and initial were so clear and added an awesome touch to the decor. The pipe and draping behind our head table really set off the room and made us the centerpiece. They knew more of what I wanted than I did - which is why I trusted them to have free reign over what they thought would look best within my few specifications. The photobooth was a huge highlight to our day - we now have an album full of hilarious pictures of all our family and friends. The setup of their photobooth is really great bc you can fit so many people in one picture! And their prop selection is fantastic! Our DJ, Adam, was absolutely awesome!! We met with him a few times before the event and he really kept us on track for all the different things we wanted to do. Thank goodness he sat down with me and we went through a timeline so we could make sure we had everything in order - w/ our choreographed bridal dance, the dollar dance, garter/bouquet toss, father/daughter mother/son dances, and other activities, it was so important we were on the same page with timing. He made it so effortless and made the reception a true party that flowed so smoothly, which was a huge stress relief for me! He was so flexible and brought great ideas to the table in the planning, and then he most certainly brought the party at the reception, which was what was most important to us. So many people told me that our wedding was the most fun wedding they'd ever been to, which is totally attributable to all of the amazing services provided by A2Z! I cannot recommend them enough - I wish we could do it all over again!

A2Z Music Factory was great to work with! John is very down to earth, flexible and personable - very easy to work with. He also isn't just a DJ but he assists with the coordinating the day of the wedding! He was able to assist in keeping the wedding flowing and for improvising if needed. When we met with him, we realized how many things he helped us think about and that we never would have even addressed a lot of those ideas had we not worked with him. He made our night very memorable and we would highly recommend his services!

John, our DJ and the president of A2Z, provided over-the-top service from start to finish. He was friendly, creative, and extremely thorough. He both offered suggestions and listened to our input, catering to our requests.

The sound and music selection was excellent. People did not stop dancing, and he respected our "Play" and "Do not play" lists. He also provided mics for the ceremony and toasts.

He offers a vast array of services. The lighting at our ceremony was excellent, washing the room in shades of purple.

The photobooth was large enough to comfortably accommodate many people. It included many props, was serviced by two full-time techs, and the guests got to keep copies of each photo. Furthermore, the booth came with a customized album including all photos from the booth for the bride and me.

If you are reading this review, stop searching for a DJ. Just go to John. I didn't have any worries during the wedding, and guarantee you will be completely satisfied!

We were so pleased with A2Z Music Factory. They did such an amazing job for our wedding! A2Z worked with us to form a play list that went over really well with everyone. Their photo booth is awesome and has tons a props to use. It's not your typical booth that you step into. A2Z sets up a partitioned wall with a back drop and you can get 10+ people in your picture where as the small booths only hold a few people comfortably. The photo booth album that we received after our wedding is perfect. A2Z really took the time to put it together!
The uplighting around the room looked great. We also had a slide show prior to dinner that they put together. It was perfect - and everyone enjoyed it!

John and his wife an a fantastic team. We was super welcoming when we were starting the planning process and were completely overwhelmed. He had draft schedules, event options, and so much experience to help us quell our fears and put some creativity into our ceremony and reception. He was there from beginning to end, helping with the mics and music for the ceremony and then providing music for the cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. By a month out we had a great plan in place and it was due to his flexibility and interest in making this the best event ever.

We had some timing issues day-of in working with such a large group in a relatively small place and John helped us rearrange some events to keep the party going. Everyone raved about the music and the amazing photobooth that they also provided. At the end of the night we had a great glow stick canopy to walk through for our grand exit and a beautiful scrapbook with all the pictures from our guests from the night, complete with personal notes from everyone. It is something we will treasure, along with the memories from the night. Thanks so much John!

We first want to say thank you for the outstanding work you have done for us. Were amazed from the start and completely happy till the very end. He went above and beyond for us. He is the definition of a true professional. He always responded to every email and request. He was even able to gather rare songs for our very special event. He did a fantastic job getting the people jamming from two totally different cultures. The slide show was a very nice touch and the game was very fun. The end was one to be remembered for the ages!!. John thank you so much for all the incredible work, last second requests, and patience to explain my wife on choosing our songs(inside joke LOL). John did amazing lighting for our wedding at the DAR. He absolutely understood my vision and did awesome pink for our outside dancing on the Portico and orangey-amber inside for the dinner lighting. I loved it and would highly recommend John for anyone looking for lighting - the lighting made the room so special :)

Working with John was a fantastic and more importantly relaxing experience. As the DJ at our wedding, John took away the stress and anxiety that every bride goes through. He listened to every request we had and offered great advice based on his past experiences. Working with John was like working with a best friend if you could imagine. He was there for us, and made sure to make our day the best it could be. He did everything we asked and we all had fun working together. My wedding was a blast and stress free! Coming from a nutty family and marrying into one, John made it so we could still have the fun wedding we wanted, but kept a close eye on things we asked him to watch out for! I CAN NOT say enough about how amazing John Howard is! He was truly a God-send! From the moment we met with John regarding lighting, he made us feel like our wedding was the most important event ever. At the time, we had another DJ lined up for our wedding, but after seeing how detailed and passionate John was about making our day as special as possible, I knew we would not be satisfied with our other DJ (who we were not even allowed to speak to directly). John spent hours (literally) going over every detail of the entire night. He took so much care in every aspect, including coordination with all of the other vendors, that you would have thought he was planning his own wedding! When it came time for the wedding, we knew we didn't have anything to worry about because John had it all covered (and by all, we even mean everything outside of the music and lighting). After the ceremony, he called us up to get a sneak peak of the finished reception area and the look on his face showed just as much excitement as the look on ours! The place looked spectacular! There is no doubt about it, our wedding would not have been the same without John and we can't say enough about how great it was to work with him!

I don't know how we would have pulled off our wedding without John from A2Z Music Factory! Before meeting with John, I was completely overwhelmed with the amount of things that needed to get done before the wedding. After one meeting with John, I walked away feeling 100% better! He was such a professional and knew exactly the questions we should have been asking but just didn't know to ask. He anticipated our needs well and really understood our wedding's unique vision. He worked hard to make sure our wedding was exactly what we wanted and completely reflected us.

John Howard of A2Z Music Factory was recommended to us by our venue, Harbour View, in Woodbridge, VA. John was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. I'm in love with all things lighting, and it was my number one wedding priority. I had only a budget of a thousand dollars which is not much for lighting. With that budget John made my lighting dreams come true with gorgeous red up lights. When I walked into the ballroom I was shocked to see that he had thrown in pin lighting on our cake and guest book table. John also surprised me with "moving heads" so my room changed colors with as the evening progressed. It was everything I had always wanted on my wedding night. When I walked in the room, the lights took my breathe away. John's flexibility with payments truly made things so much easier. I can't wait to have another big event so I can have the opportunity to work with John and A2Z again. His work was magical!!

The lighting was amazing! When I walked into the room it took my breath away. The centerpieces were amazing on their own, but the pin lighting made them really stand out... and the cake looked like it was glowing - it didn't even look real.

The photo booth was the biggest hit. EVERYONE loved it. I am getting emails and phone calls about the photo booth and how much fun our guests had.

I know that my review will not be able to adequately express how AMAZING A2Z Music Factory was for our wedding. The value we got for our money and the planning process with John was perfect – he really ended up being our wedding planner. A2Z provided our ceremony music, cocktail hour music, event entertainment, dance music, venue lighting, live video feed to 2nd floor of reception venue, and event timeline coordination. Again, SO many aspects of our day were handled by A2Z as part of our package.

John helped us plan our wedding with multiple planning meetings over the course of the months leading up to our wedding. He pointed out so many things we didn’t think of. Like most grooms, my husband really let me run with the wedding planning and wasn’t dying to be involved. But, when it came to meeting with John he was always excited to go. He involved us both in the process and made it so much fun – it was more like hanging out than a planning meeting. Jeff (my husband) might just show up knocking at John’s door asking to do it all again!

From the beginning, I was concerned that we were not going to have enough time for dancing with our reception timeline considering at most weddings it takes a few songs to “warm up the dance floor” and get everyone dancing. NOT OUR WEDDING. John filled (okay, OVER filled) the dance floor with the first song. Even my Dad was dancing….. this was the first time in my 26 years I saw him dancing to something besides a slow song with my Mom! John was great at playing music that brought everyone of all ages together.

Most of all, John kept me calm during the planning process and the day of. I’d look frazzled, next thing I knew John was right there saying, “What do you need. I’ll fix it, not you”. Wow. In all seriousness, my wine glass was empty at one point and he was there with a new glass full. John made sure everyone was where they needed to be at the exact right time.

When I first read the reviews for A2Z, I didn’t think they could be true. I researched EVERY vendor I had a ridiculous amount before signing with any of them. These reviews are all true. I really hope my friends use John for their weddings so I can go to one of his parties again!

I used A2Z Music Factory for the lighting and sound system for our wedding at Trump National Golf Club, DC. John Howard and A2Z Music Factory did an incredible job!!! I literally don't have a single negative thing to say and would recommend John to anyone. His passion for lighting is obvious from the first second you meet him. He took control of everything and I did not have to worry about a single thing. He made our room sparkle and thought of things we would need - like a microphone for the officiant and readers - that I would have totally forgotten in the midst of all the crazy planning. I am thankful for how easy it was to work with John and all the thought he put into making sure our day went perfectly. I can not say enough positive things about John and would recommend him to anyone.

John was fabulous! He was extremely flexible with both our schedules and ideas of what we wanted at our wedding. After getting an outline of our evening, he spent hours with us going through all the details to ensure that the reception would run smoothly - and it did! We had an amazing time, and most important, all of our guests are still talking about what a great time they had as well! It was perfect! John will truly put all of his effort into making your reception exactly what you want it to be!

John Howard is amazing! He is the complete package. Not only was he our awesome DJ but also provided lighting which were beautiful.
All of our guests loved the music John played throughout the reception from cocktail hour to the last song. Knowing John was highly experienced, we gave him a few songs we liked and disliked and then allowed John to take control of the music. The outcome was great! He played all the right songs and really drove the mood of the reception. Trust me, he knows music and can adapt to play any songs that fit to you.
John also provided up lighting for our reception. The lights truly made our reception look beautfiul. The day of the wedding, he added a few more lights because he thought it would make the reception hall look better. How awesome is that! He went out of his way to put up more lights for us. To sum up my experience, John was amazing. We trusted John and he did not dissappoint but he went above and beyond our expectations. On such a busy day, all you want is to enjoy the day and not worry about anything; he will make this possible. Trust me, you will not go wrong with John as your DJ. John was an excellent DJ. He always made sure my husband and I were enjoying ourselves and that everything was going smoothly. The "Newly Weds" game was a big hit and we enjoyed it as much as the audience did.

John was such a fabulous and important part of our making our wedding day so perfect! He went above and beyond to make the music, lighting, emceeing, coordination, and so many other functions he filled so smooth. He absolutely exceeded our expectations!

He was meticulous in planning beforehand to make sure every detail we wanted was in place and to keep us the same page for execution the day of. We had several meetings, in person and on Skype, and he was extremely flexible in accommodating our schedule to make each meeting count. The timeline he provided for the reception became the basis for our broader timeline for the entire wedding day and he did an amazing job keeping things moving along, filling us in on what we were doing when, knowing who was speaking, etc. The "newlywed game" he plays with the Barbie and Ken doll and couple trivia was a huge hit to make dinner more fun and get our guests ready to let loose on the dance floor.

We had a longer time frame for open dancing than typical, knowing that our friends and families love to dance and were not shy. John really kept things alive by playing songs from our pre-set lists, but also seemed to sense the crowd and played songs that kept everyone going. He was very organized with the "must" and "do not" play lists. Also, while I am not well-versed on sound equipment, my husband was extremely impressed with John's speakers, bass, light truss, etc.

The sparkler grand finale, coordinated by John, was another highlight of the night. He personally walked backwards with a spotlight on us as our friends and family said farewell, illuminating the path with sparklers. Somehow John even managed to capture one of our favorite pictures of the entire evening of the two of us, grinning ear to ear, surrounded by our friends and family as we left our reception.

We highly recommend John-he's a deejay and day of coordinator in one. While couples may not know what unexpected things may come up on your wedding day, you can take comfort in knowing that John will take care of it all so you can focus on enjoying the big day.

John is AWESOME! Cannot stress how much you should hire him. He is not only a DJ, he is a wedding coordinator and lighting extraordinaire! He was so pleasant to work with throughout the whole process and we could tell that he really cared about our wedding and making it as successful as possible. He spent time going through the details of our wedding day with us multiple times in person. He navigated the difficulties of working with our venue without complaint and ever served as our advocate and pushing back on the venue when they weren’t completely aligned with our wishes. He visited our venue and had great lighting ideas, which were AMAZING beyond belief and truly added to the experience of our wedding. Our guests were on the dance floor the entire night and several commented to me on how great the music was. John was the perfect emcee- I did NOT want a cheesy DJ. During planning, John offered up great ideas, but was always clear that we should tailor everything to how we wanted it. John was professional, but charismatic and truly exceeded all our expectations. Throughout the wedding, John checked in with us to make sure we were doing ok and having fun – he is so thoughtful! We are so thankful and so glad that we picked A2Z Music Factory for our wedding!

My wedding was SO much fun, and John was by far the biggest reason. First, he's a FANTASTIC DJ. The playlist all night long was perfect, with a great mix for the older and younger generations. He got people out on the dance floor, and having a blast. He played music at a good level during dinner (which is one of my pet peeves, I hate when the music is too loud and you have to shout). And during the rest of the night it was just perfect. During planning he had several great ideas to make our reception unique, and involve the guests a little. For instance we played the dating game, where my husband and I sat back to back and he asked funny questions while we held up a Barbie or Ken to answer me or him. Everyone thought it was hilarious, and it made the evening interesting. He was also incredibly helpful. I'm a Type A personality, and he kept reassuring me that he would take care of everything, so I just relaxed, and the night went off without a hitch. He offered to do anything that would help us out (make menus, programs, etc), and he even helped my mom and my husband bustle my dress when I got to the reception. Have you ever seen a DJ bustle the bride's dress?? He's also just a genuinely nice guy, and you can tell he loves what he does (plus he's fantastic at it!). I would recommend him to DJ any event without hesitation. Wonderful!!

John was awesome! It's been a few weeks since our wedding, and people are still talking about how awesome the reception was! John was attentive and made sure we were having a good time and was taken care of (he stopped by the bridal party room after the ceremony asking if we needed drinks or food, seriously the dj did that!) Music selection was great and the candy toss was one of the best ideas ever! Thanks John for all your hard work!

I don't even know where to begin to highlight all of the fabulous talents of Mr. John Howard! He was absolutely amazing to work with and clearly worked so hard to ensure we had an amazing experience on our wedding day! "An experience" is really what John creates for your wedding day rather than just showing up to be a "DJ" for the event. My husband and I met with John and another one of his team members in April and immediately knew we had to figure out a way to ensure he was our DJ for our wedding! During the initial consultation he really focused on getting to know us and what we were looking for in addition to sharing tons of examples of his work on so many levels throughout our discussion. Upon confirming we would be moving forward with securing his services for our big day, we met with John several times before the wedding to ensure the experience was successful. John was flexible in meeting with us whenever we wanted to do so and always spent several hours with us each time (probably because he's very easy to get along with and hilarious so I'm sure there were moments of digression in there somewhere!) He made sure we were comfortable with everything planned for our big day along the way. John provided not only our music, but uplighting in our tent, which was absolutely beautiful and created such a magical effect throughout the evening. It looks amazing in our pictures too! In addition, John pulled off surprising our guests with a bubble machine right after we were pronounced husband and wife at the end of our ceremony, which was such a fun touch for our wedding day! Guests loved it, especially our ring bearer and flower girl who couldn't stop laughing considering all of the bubbles surrounding them (it was thousands of bubbles practically!) The bubbles looked awesome in pictures and video too! One of our favorite suggestions from John & the wonderful memory we'll always remember from our wedding day as a result of his suggestion is focused on sharing personal messages with our parents during the father/daughter & mother/son dances. John had us record special messages to our parents during one of our meeting sessions prior to the day of the wedding and inserted these over the music in the middle of our song selections with my father and my husband's mother. It was so special and I'll never forget my Dad's eyes welling up with tears of happiness! My husband's mother never stood a chance...she was in tears the moment she heard his voice! John also helped us to implement "entrance music" for each member of our bridal party that suited their personality best. It was alot of fun and he made it a competition and awarded $20 to the "bridal party couple" with the best entrance. He also motivated the bridesmaids by putting $20 in the bouquet prior to the toss, which made it even more hilarious to watch the girls fight it out on the dance floor. It's one of our favorite parts of the wedding video! These are just a few examples of how hard John worked to ensure we had an amazing experience! He also visited our wedding site a few days before the wedding and what should have taken him 1 1/2 hours took him over 4 hours considering he was traveling in the remnants of a Tropical Storm and there was over 11 inches of rain that day, which just demonstrates his committment to his work considering I would assume most DJs would have just turned around and not put forth anywhere near the effort he did under the circumstances. I was late getting there too and he still waited around and didn't leave until late to head back home to ensure we covered everything in advance of the wedding day. He arrived early on the wedding day to ensure he had more than enough time to set everything up and assisted with the flow of our event too by coordinating with our caterer, photographer, etc. I can't say enough wonderful things about him! He's amazing at his craft and his committment to creating a memorable experience on your wedding day demonstrates his passion for the craft! The dance floor was packed all night and guests can't stop talking about how much fun they had! If you want your event to be flawless then hire A2Z Music Factory they will make your wedding day perfect! After seeing John be a DJ at weddings before I knew he did a great job and had heard that everyone he worked with seemed to love him. I had already hired a band for the music but I knew that A2Z Music factory also did up lighting. I was talking with John on the phone about doing the up lighting and he let me know that he also has a photo booth.It was only 2 weeks before my wedding and I was so lucky that he happened to still have that day free for the photobooth. I hired A2Z Music Factory to do up lights and the photo booth. Not only did the lights look amazing but the photo booth was such a huge hit. The photo booth had more props then any booth I've seen.If you book John for any part of your wedding he will make you feel so important. I felt like his pricing is very good and he's not like other companies that try to pressure you to book right away. I would recommend the photobooth and lighting to anyone. I have seen John DJ before and I know he's also a great DJ!

I would highly recommend John Howard and his company A2Z Music Factory to anyone wanting an amazing DJ for their wedding reception! John was so understanding during our planning process. I was not living in Virginia during the planning of my wedding, and my husband was deployed in Afghanistan. That made it difficult for my husband and I to discuss details of the reception and get those details to John in a timely manner. Thankfully, John was so gracious and patient. He was flexible, professional, and so personable throughout the whole process. John was adamant about making our vision come to life and he really made the reception personal to us as a couple. I was given the responsibility of finding an appropriate DJ for our wedding. I was asking around and looking on Yelp to see the 5 out of 5ers and how much they cost. We were on a $20,000 budget with hopes of spending more towards $15,000. I found one DJ who was $1,000 and without even meeting him, was about to sign a contract and send him a check - I thought all DJs were generally the same. Before I did that though, I wanted to make sure I spoke with a couple of other DJs, one of which was John Howard with A2Z Music Factory. He was referred to me by a mutual friend in my church small group, but I was told that he may have retired. After a couple of attempts to reach him, John called me back and confirmed his retirement but that I should come over because all DJs are not the same and I need to know what questions to ask. I went there solo because my then fiancée, too was under the same impression that all DJs were the same and I could handle it on my own. I got to John's house and told him about my situation. He advised me to meet with the DJ and showed me videos of his past weddings to show me how they're done. As I watched the videos and listened to him speak of the intricacies, I realized that DJs may be far from the same. When he was done with me, I had spent 2.5 hours at his place and had a full page filled out front and back with questions. I was a little nervous that the DJ was going to let me send him a contract without even meeting him so the first thought that came to my mind was "wow John, I wish you could DJ my wedding". This seemed to spark a flare in John and as his wife arrived, he asked her if they were doing anything on my wedding date. She said no and he said that if the other DJs didn't work out, he'd make an exception for me. On the way back from speaking with John, I gave my fiancée an earful about what we had talked about. I got hold of the other DJ, asked him to meet, and was sure glad that I had John's questions. To the unsuspecting person who doesn't know what John taught me, the DJ would've seemed great; but with the questions in hand, he fell far short of what I was looking for. I told John that I would like him to DJ and he thankfully said yes! And it was for a price that was within our budget. He sat down with my fiancée and I and helped us put our “simple yet elegant” vision together. We had a good time collaborating on what we wanted to happen during the reception, how we would get people to dance, and what type of music would promote a good time and a celebration of God’s goodness. We were going for a big dance party and talked about how we could make that happen on a Sunday afternoon. He didn’t just talk to us about music, he talked to us about the experience and how the food, pictures, music, etc would all come into play. He had plenty of ideas but let us decide exactly what we wanted; it was very fun and painless to go through this process. Come wedding day, John arrived roughly 2 hours before he was supposed to and essentially saved the ceremony! There was a lot of feedback in the speakers so he hooked his up to use for the scripture reading, songs, etc. It was perfect. During dinner, John made sure we were okay and that we were having a good time. It was simple, yet elegant, just like we wanted. It was a very calculated approach with its own free flowing feel that is hard to explain. We knew exactly what was happening, yet it seemed very natural. My wife’s Dad has cancer and John made sure he was attentive to his energy level for the Father/Daughter dance, which was perfect. John, my wife, and I all worked together to start the party. Once it got going, John took it from there and it went just like how we wanted, it was perfect. People who we didn’t expect to dance were dancing and I got to bring out some old moves that have hung in the closet. Everything was very smooth and I’m glad to say that I’ve gained a new friendship from working with John, out of his genuine care for one of the most important times of my life. We got a bang for our buck to say the least and its an understatement to say that John went above and beyond his duties. My wife and I were totally taken care of and will be sure to recommend John to everyone we know who is getting married in the DC area. I'm happy that he has decided to continue to DJ and share his gift with the world; do not miss the opportunity to work with John, you will be so happy you did!

Let me begin by saying you NEED to choose A2Z (John Howard) for your wedding!!!!!! Not only do we know John personally (he's my parents' next door neighbor) and can say that he's just a great person in general, but he's also seriously an amazing DJ!

John worked with us to plan out the unique, fun parts of our reception to make it a special experience rather than just any old wedding you may attend, from the lighting (made an already beautiful room look even better!) to the slideshow (we were sosososo happy with it) to the belt dance (hysterical!) to the Newlywed Game (my guests are still talking about how fun and different that was). We had a very random assortment of guests and we heard from everyone how great the music was! John really does go above and beyond to make sure that you don't have ANYTHING to worry about at your reception. I really can't say enough good things, so stop researching those other crappy DJs and just go with John because I PROMISE you'll be happy you did :)

A2Z Music Factory was recommended to us by our DJ after he heard we were thinking about doing uplighting at our wedding/reception. We got in contact with John to get a quote on our event. John was flexible and helped us get to a price that worked with our budget. We spoke to John a few times on the phone and he was always very professional and helpful.

The day of our event, I went to the ballroom to check out how it was being set up. John introduced himself and right away I could feel that he was there to make sure everything went perfectly. He demonstrated some of the lighting colors for me right then. He was very flexible when I asked if we could lighten the shade of color for our ceremony.

The lighting was BEAUTIFUL. I had to convince my fiance that we should spend the extra bit, but he was blown away at how great the room looked with the extra bit of color. The lighting makes a huge difference in our photos and we also received a number of compliments on the uplighting.

For the duration of the night, John was so helpful and generous to our bridal party and to us. He reminded us to eat and even offered/delivered drinks to my new husband and me! :) He was extremely friendly and we could tell that he enjoys what he does!

"John" from A2Z Music Factory was simply amazing. My husband and I have never met any DJ with the stature that "John" has. He was extremely professional, organized, creative and spent a great deal of time listening to what my husband and I wanted to make our wedding day extra special. John would always state, "You have to set the tone for your ceremony and reception and when you do that, the guests will follow your lead". With John's help, our wedding guests did just that. Marques and I set a fun celebratory tone and John provided the music for my ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Guests were taken back down memory lane to the 1950's and 60's hearing classic hits that some knew the words too (Smile), while transitioning into a little smooth jazz during the reception dinner to add a little flavor to the evening and after guests had a little food in their systems, than everyone hit the dance floor where all of the latest hits were played to keep the crowd on their feet.

John provided the suggestion of the "Bridal Party Belt Dance". My husband and I had no idea what this was but once John explained the details and we were instructed to pull guests on the dance floor with the belts while dancing to "Mambo Number 5", we knew that everyone would be in for a special treat. When it came time during the reception for the belt dance, everyone was on the dance floor from children who attended the wedding, up to senior citizens who had a little pep in thier steps. John helped us create an atmosphere with great music, fellowship and fun were all guests felt comfortable and enjoyed themselves.

John is so passionate about his career and enjoys meeting couples. We met John many months ago and have developed a really good working relationship.

John, provided lightening to make the ballroom where the reception was held, that added a special touch to the evening. While my husband and I were dancing to all the wonderful hits John was playing, we could hear guests saying "Wow", look at these lights! How nice! Look at the different colors. The lightening that John provided really made the night even more special, including the sparkles for our grand finale.

If you are wondering if A2Z is the DJ you want for your wedding, well then your mind is heading in the right direction. John goes above and beyond your expectations. As soon as you sign your contract and pay the lil small deposit of $300 get ready to be blown away. Because you basically just got a wedding planner and a DJ for the price of one. John takes care of everything so that you dont need to worry about anything. You will be able to meet with him pretty much whenever you want. His hours are really flexible. So dont worry about that. You will never have the issue of three days before your wedding when your trying to get in contact with a vendor and they are no where to be found. You are programmed into his cell phone like you guys have known eachother for years if not decades. That was the best thing i like about John.
Upon your first meeting with John you pretty much go over everything you will need to know about your big day. And John is very easy to talk to so dont be afraid to tell him exactly what you want. You will receive a song list of many different genres of music for you to pick and choose from. And if you dont want it played just put an "X" through it. Its that easy. You dont need to go home and do a bunch of song searching on the web because John has already done it for you. Now John only has one rule.....He doesnt have anything to do with your 1st. dance. He wont even give suggestions. That song is for you and your groom to decide 100%. And i thought that was great. It really gives you the feel that he actually cares for you and how important he would like you to take this special day. Once all the music is picked the hard part is over. Then its on to slideshow and wedding itinerary, and dont forget name pronuncation of brides maids and groomsmen,hahahaha! John has a projection screen and theater system in his basement so you will be able to listen to your music before hand as well as see your slideshow as it will look on your big day.
The one on one experience is what makes John and his buisness excel. He makes you feel so comfortable and so right at home. So if after all that ive said you still havent made up your mind on what Dj to pick for your big day, Then your crazy! Im going to continue this review even if you have made up your mind yet because ive saved the best for last. From the moment all of the wedding party entered the room John kicked it into high gear. From the lights, sound sysem, and perfect stage presence John took control of our wedding. Everything flows so smooth and everyone knows what is going on.There will never be a dull moment during your wedding. So be prepared to party. It was the best experience ever for us. So just sit back relax and dont worry about anything, and remember have fun and John will take care of everything.

John Howard was an absolute pleasure to work with. All our guests were raving about him, and he kept our friends and family out on the dance floor all night long. The lights he provides add a ton of ambience to the room and put the guests in the mood to party. We ended up extending our reception by an hour and John kindly stayed on. He plans out and directs the entire reception, going above and beyond to make sure everything is as stress-free as possible for the bride and groom. He was even bringing drinks to us during dinner! John will find any song you request and has so many great ideas to really personalize your wedding reception. We met with him several times before the wedding and at each meeting, he made helpful suggestions that really enhanced our reception. He is extremely reliable, organized, and hardworking. Working with A2Z was probably the best thing I could have done when it came to my wedding! John was amazing and incredibly professional. He worked with us in everything we wanted and even added some Korean music for us in the mix for our belt dance (it was a blast with the Korean adults at the wedding). Our wedding was 5/2/10 and John was absolutely amazing to work with!!! He gave everything we asked for and more. The light show he designed was spectacular and definitely thrilled the crowd - I can't say enough about how we all enjoyed the show. My husband, who is an electrician, was delighted with the light show. We had a fantastic wedding - exactly what we wanted and John played a huge role in that. We wanted everyone, including us, to just have a great time and dance. John made sure that the dance floor was packed from start to finish. He created the timetable/schedule for everyone's reference yet allowed us the flexibility to set the pace on the fly if we wanted to. He worked closely with the hotel staff and the photographer to make sure everything went smoothly and it did. John and his team are extremely professional and fun to deal with! He was kind enough to create a dvd that included our introductions, first dance and a "performance" by a family member that will no doubt be watched over and over throughout the years. After meeting with several dj's and getting a general idea of who/what was around, a friend recommended John...best phone call I made! Upon meeting him there was no question he would be our DJ. First off, the level of professionalism at the first meeting was above and beyond what we had experienced with other vendors. We were confident he would do a great job and he did.
John kept in close contact with us, listened to all we wanted, had a great selection of music, offered to help in any way needed. His use of technology was impressive as was the optional slideshow he created.
We arrived late to our reception due to traffic and John had it all under control. It's awesome when the guests compliment the dj and how he started the party, kept the party going and got us all organized.
John mentioned that it's his job to make sure all goes well and he followed through. I would strongly recommend his services ( as would my photographer who was just as impressed as we were).

I can't say enough good things about John Howard. He really loves what he does and takes pride in his work - and he's just such a great guy. He spent a lot of time with me and my groom, and perhaps even more time with my parents (I was out of town, so they did a lot of the footwork) making sure that he was going to meet all of our needs and give us the evening we wanted. He took to the time to understand my definition of good dance music, and he really delivered. The dance floor was packed all night - I was thoroughly exhausted and happy by the end of the night. If that wasn't enough, John's wife came along and took pictures AND some clips of video. When we came home from our honeymoon, John had dvds with slide shows, video clips, and pictures as well as two framed pictures of us dancing. Bottom line - John loves what he does, you will love working with him, he will deliver a most memorable evening.

John Howard truly loves this job. My husband and I met with him 3 times before the actual date(I have never heard of any DJ taking this much time to work out the details for music and the slideshow....it was great!!), and then had an "on-site" meeting a few days before the wedding to make sure we were all on the same page. He was very flexible, understanding, patient and professional. He also put together a "growing -up" slide show that was played during dinner at our wedding. Nothing can replace this permanent memory that I will have forever. It was great entertainment for our guests too. The day of the wedding, we had to move things indoors due to rain, and he moved things around to accomodate our new surroundings so that everyone could still hear and see the speeches/dances..etc. I never knew of all these changes until after wedding....which was great that I didn't have to be involved making those decisions the day of our wedding. I loved every second of the wedding...but the dancing was the best part, and he made it that way for us. I will always be thankful to him for getting everyone on the dancefloor...to party!!! John Howard (Owner) was just super to work with. We only provided him with a month's notice during a high volume time of year. To further complicate things, I was overseas and my bride to be was in New York. After organizing several threeway conference calls, John put together an excellent program to include a professional slide show that friends and family still comment about. During the reception John managed each phase of the program just as we discussed without having to consult with us. This allowed us to visit wilh guest without interference. I would use the services of A2Z Music Factory again without hesitation.

John was great. He takes your event seriously and works hard at it. Great music and great sound really made our event. He is a mature professional, a wise advisor. I was worry free about our audio at our ceremony and party. He is easily accessible. He develops the agenda with you but can easily go with the flow if necessary the day of your party. Carrie very unobtrusively did the digital photos and John produced a great slide show of the event afterward which will be a treasured keepsake.

I absolutely loved with working with John. He made the entire reception planning process so much easier.

My wedding was classy and elegant with the help of John. John kept the wedding on time and moving. He was the best master of ceremony. He stepped in and handled everything. John knows wedding etiquette, and will help advice you of proper formality as well as ideas to make the day run smoothly. I had the pleasure of meeting him more then 4 times, with him traveling hours to my address and I to his. He even came on his FIRST FATHERS DAY!!!! John's music selection is never ending and his taste is Great! There is so much he offered, I know I forgot something! His pricing does not compare to his services. As you can tell I was very happy with his services and would highly recommend him.

For the reception, John created a slideshow presentation of the bride/groom from childhood to adulthood which everybody enjoyed and complemented how wonderful it was. He also included a special tribute for a deceased family member (father of the bride) that was of special appreciation to the family. He even created extra copies of the slideshow presentation for the grandparents and parents of the bride and groom.

The picture-taking was an added bonus. John’s assistant had taken 100’s of pictures throughout the day and put them into a slide show for us.

It is a big job to coordinate a wedding, and John worked so well with the banquet caterer to assure that everything went smoothly. We felt confident that we were in good hands and were able to relax and enjoy ourselves as the events of the day unfolded!

John Howard of A2Z music is an incredible DJ. He provided unmatched DJ service on the day of my wedding. The preparation started months before; he met with my fiancé and me three times, and spent all the time we needed to make sure we were comfortable with the entire day's events from introductions to music to how the events flowed. He has years of experience, which allowed him to offer advice on what he thought would work best for our event. He found a special dedication song we requested for my aunt and uncle, who were celebrating their 40th anniversary, and also found other Irish songs my family requested. He promptly responded to my e-mails, and was very organized and "did the work for us". When I mentioned I would send him my revised notes to include the changes we had discussed in one of our meetings, he insisted that it was his job, I had enough to worry about he said. He also purchased gifts for my flower girl and ring bearer to save me some time. He really made the day so much more enjoyable because I knew he had everything under control. He is a tremendously nice person, who is professional, knowledgeable, and someone who really cares about making your day the most unforgettable day of your life.

More important than his organization and helpfulness leading up to the event, John is also a terrific DJ. He has a great knowledge of music, and is able to "read" a crowd. He knows what songs to play to get people up dancing, and keep them dancing!

In closing, I would definitely recommend the candid picks package....the pics he gave us are among my favorite! From beginning to end, John did a fabulous job. I am so happy we choose A2Z!

Overall exceptional service with some extra photos. John was great in helping us plan music and extended a helping hand with any other services we needed. I have to give it to him, he had a challenge being that it was a sunday afternoon wedding an 1hour out for most people. So there was not a lot of dancing which John tried his hardest to get everyone out there. A few mishaps, music too loud during the meal and certain songs not playing right (too soft or didnt start at the right time). The extra perk is that he comes with an extra photgrapher who will take some shots as well so you have more backup pictures which is always great. Service was great and so was the price.

A2Z was an amazing choice for us! From taking our unique ceremony into consideration to helping us decide how long we wanted the reception should be to how to exit the festivities, John was great! He had great ideas, was incredibly flexible with our ceremony and last-minute additions and subtractions and oddball requests. John was incredibly responsive via email and phone. After determining that email was the best way to communicate with both of us to make sure that everyone was on the same page, he kept us in the loop every step of the way. We planned our music at the last minute, and this required a lot of last minute coordination. He raised issues and questions that we hadn't thought of, and would assist us in making those decisions.

As a working bride, I wasn't always able to make decisions within a moments notice, but John gently encouraged me with reminders to do things that were "waiting for my approval." I appreciated this tremendously, and I know it led to the overall success of a seamless wedding day.

The Quality of Service blew my mind. A2Z Music Factory has top quality equipment and an endless music selection. Any music that he didn't have, he tracked down with a ruthless efficiency that amazed my husband. People raved about the professionalism of our D.J. and how he kept the flow of the evening going. We had some very specific and non traditional requests for our wedding, and he honored all of them. At the end of the night, the manager of our venue asked if I would provide him a copy of our music selections, because he loved them. He also asked for our D.J.'s card and information and indicated that he was the best D.J. they had ever had for a wedding. He told me that we should be proud of our selection for entertainment, that the guests clearly had a great time, and so did the staff.

The Value For Cost - There were a range of packages to choose from, and my D.J. worked with me to pick the best package for what I was trying to achieve and to stay within my budget. I appreciated his sensitivity to my husband's desire to stay exactly within our budget, but also pointing out things we hadn't considered, such as a sound system for our wedding. He provided microphones and sound for the ceremony itself, which I had opted to not rent due to budget constraints. This would have been a huge mistake, so I was so glad that he insisted we have microphones.

Additionally, A2Z Music Factory offers photography services. They were offered to us, and we did not accept, because we already had a photographer. He brought his photographer anyway, and they captured beautiful pictures. So much so, that I asked them to organize, edit, and create an album using all of our pictures, even our official photographers. I regret not hiring their photographer, because they were amazing photos, and I only have them of the dancing, and venue, not of the family photos before the ceremony. I like non traditional, out of the box photo selections, and he was exactly the style I was looking for. He filled in gaps of photos that I would otherwise have missed and been devastated about later.

Professionalism - Everyone raved about how awesome our music and delivery was. The D.J. arrived looking clean cut, well dressed, and ready to work the night away. We offered him alcohol the entire evening, and he wouldn't partake, because he said he was "working." He dealt with the restaurant staff, my family, and myself to coordinate many things throughout the evening, and did a perfect job. He took it upon himself to scout out the location prior to the wedding to make sure there would be no surprises.

Flexiblity - I was able to book A2Z at the last minute, because he was originally going to be at an out of town conference. I suspect that you would need to book his services much more in advance under normal circumstances. However, what I do know is that they can work under pressure. My husband is a non mainstream music junkie, and we wanted our wedding to reflect that style somewhat, but also entertain the guests. We also decided that we wanted to select our own dinner music and cocktail hour music to reflect our tastes, but that we would completely trust his judgment on the actual dancing. He spent hours working on finding the music we selected on our own, and he honored our request to not play certain genres of music, such as line dancing, disco, etc. He intently watched the crowd and responded to their responses. As a result, I ended up paying him at the last minute to stay another hour, because no one wanted to vacate the dance floor!

I have received countless compliments on the music and friends and family have begged us for the music list for parties. We're not giving it up, but we will give you or D.J.'s name....A2Z Music Factory. If you book them, you will not be disappointed, and neither will your guests!!

Helping and asking us how and what we wanted for our reception made us feel your there to help us make it our own. It was great working with you and getting the reception organized and fallowing our schedule to make sure we didn’t miss out on anything we have planned. A2Z worked with us to customize our service package to give us exactly what we needed. They were very professional and provided top quality service. The DJ took control of wedding coordination and made sure it was kept on schedule, which took a lot of pressure off of us. We opted to have them take candid photos of our wedding and reception ceremony and they did a great job. We actually like a lot of the candid photos more than we like the professional ones. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found them for our wedding.

John and Carrie were very flexible and readily available to provide advice and support during the planning months prior to our wedding. They accomodated our requests and was able to successfully keep the dance floor happening. People were dancing all the way to the end of the night. We would highly recommend and use them again in the future. They were the most reliable and trusted vendor of our wedding night!

John and Carrie were WONDERFUL! I am so glad my mother found them and chose to use their DJ services. I am not sure of the cost, as my parents handled all of that, but I will say that they were easy to work with, professional, and thorough. While John kept the party going, Carrie took hundreds of candid photos, many of which our professional photographer did not even get, and they were great. The fact that John and Carrie are married was also a nice touch. They were dressed nicely at our wedding and very unobtrusive during the entire event. I would HIGHLY recommend using their services. John and Carrie were in communication with my parents a lot, which is not an easy task if you know my dad...I am so thankful we had such a great DJ for a truly amazing night. They were absolutely terrific!

We can’t thank John & Carrie enough for such a fantastic time! I didn’t have any specific ideas of what I wanted at my wedding, all I knew is I wanted it to be fun for everyone. John & Carrie met with me a few weeks before our wedding and helped us with a timeline, playlist, and anything else we might need. They had never worked at our venue before and went to check it out a couple of weeks ahead of time so they knew the layout and what was available to them. On the day of the wedding I did not have to worry about a thing! John & Carrie coordinated everything with the other vendors and if there were any problems I never knew about them. The entire night the dance floor was packed! When it came time to end the night everyone chanted “One more song, one more song”! Now two weeks later family and friends are still calling us to say how much fun they had and enjoyed themselves. They keep telling us what a good job we did, however, we can’t take the credit. The only thing we did was to pick the right people to help us make our wedding an entertaining & relaxing event for all! We wouldn’t change a thing!

We planned our whole wedding in 6 weeks. And as the time went on we only booked a2z about 2 weeks before the wedding date after a few emails and a little waiting to make sure the date was available. John was great in getting what we needed and ready to work for us. He got our songs the weekend of the wedding that was held on Monday. He really helped us pull it all off. Although my family has done 2 other weddings before for my sisters they were the formal church wedding. We did the all in one at one site and they did an excellent job with rehearsal and day of. We were not looking for the tradition everything and they were very easy to adapt to my choices. They helped people get involved did an impromt speech cause stupid us didn't think, well we should raise our glasses when the best man did his. And even gave us a break with not having to kiss every other minute while eating dinner. We had the guests sing a song with love in it. Overall we had a good experience with A2Z. They were even willing to travel about 4 hours to our event.

John Howard, the DJ and owner of A2Z Music Factory and his wife Carrie are a fantastic team! The best money I ever spent. Not only are they extremely reliable, helpful and professional, they are wonderful people. They work well with others (vendors, family and guests), they are extremely organized and take charge. This was the best money I spent and my event turned out exactly as I imagined. John and Carrie were able to envision what I wanted and delivered 110%! John is not just some DJ who shows up and plays muisc for a few hours. He wanted to be informed about my other vendors, time lines, etc. and he made sure everything flowed. If there were any glitches (which I later learned several days after my reception, there were), I never knew about them that evening and to us, our event was perfect. Thanks to John and Carrie, we had no worries. John did a great job in making my guests feel welcome, his presentation was entertaining and top notch and for most of the evening, there wasn't a seat with a behind in it! Outside of eating during dinner, the majority of my guests spent their time on the dance floor enjoying themselves, as did I. At the end of the evening, I recieved numerous compliments from guests and family about how much they enjoyed themselves and that John's trademark belt dance was a huge hit, as well as the many other planned group dances. Since our reception, I've had many inquiries from guests and family how to contact John. It's obvious he and his wife enjoy what they do and also care about the people they are dealing with. You won't be disappointed with this company or service!

A2Z was the "icing on the cake" - from the pre-wedding meetings, to the day of event there was no detail overlooked or problem that they couldn't solve. The care in every detail from meetings to gathering of information, to getting my music list and finalizing a schedule and slide show for reception, this team was on top of it all. They were true professionals and really made sure my vision was carried out, even if it meant going beyond their call of duty, which they did. Many of my guests commented on how well everything went and how much fun they had, it was very much in part to A2Z - thanks for making my day one to remember.

A2Z truly worked with my needs to create a personal experience. I was a reluctant wedding planner--I really could not wait to get the day over with and get on with the rest of my life!! Then I met the people at A2Z and actually started getting excited about everything. They were great with coordinating with my photographer, videographer, and caterers too. I can't imagine having anyone better!

John and Carrie were amazing. We really appreicated how John put in his 100 percent to DJing at our wedding. He cared so much about how people responded to the evening and him and Carrie put in a lot of thought into small details that really made our reception special.
