Reviews for Abella Studios
I have not had my in studio session, however, I do have the contact sheets in a nice spiral bound book, which might be nice if the pictures were clear. I also viewed my pictures on pictage.com. Ryan keeps saying that the pictures will look much better in the studio than they do online. My question…How is someone supposed to select their pictures from pictage.com if they think all of them suck. I selected 120 photos from almost 800, I am waiting for my next step which is to view the pictures in the studio to create the actual album. I will repost when I see the photos from the in studio session. Ryan says that the in studio session is better than what is online. For the most part, I think it was the photographer; it is my opinion that he did not have the proper lighting for black skin tone or an artistic eye. If you are looking for a lot of non meaning full pictures go with them, if you want photojournalistic please beware.
Brides & Grooms beware. I paid a lot of money and was very unsatisfied with my photos. Ryan the manager is great, the issue is not him, the photographer we had has no artistic talent. He just snapped lots of photos however they were not from an artistic eye. Before you pay any money, you should request to meet with your photographer and to see his/her actual work. I did that however they kept sending me other photographer’s work and said the photographers pretty much shoot the same type of shots. Please check out my photos at www.pictage.com (Mills) August 4, 2007 and let me know what you think. My family and friend viewed my pictures online, not one person sent me an email saying they like the pictures. I also thought I would like the idea of only viewing the pictures online instead of the actual printed proofs. Wrong, i think I would have liked the proofs. I did my homework before selecting this vendor; I went to about 12 other vendors before making my decision. I picked this vendor because the manager was friendly, the in studio sample albums were excellent and the price was better than the other places. If I had the money, I would have selected a photographer in Ridgewood NJ, I think it is called M&M studios. However, I did not want to spend over $5000 for pictures. My friend used Jasmine Photos, (much cheaper than abella studio) she did not like her pictures, but I loved them.
AM I CRAZY FOR HATING MY WEDDING PICTURES
2/27/08 I had my in studio session last night. Everything went well. I ended up adding more pictures to my album. The in studio session pictures look like the pictures online, the computer program they use also has a low resolution, the only difference, they are able enhance/fix/brighten some of the photos, I believe there is an additional fee for this service however, since most of my pictures were dark, she worked with me. I picked 120 photos, the studio put the album together using the photos I selected along with photos they liked to create an album of 36 pictures, and we ended up with an album of 52 pictures. The session was 2 hours, I think that is longer than normal, however the person we worked with was very friendly and did not make us feel like we needed to rush. She was really great, I cannot remember her name. I will post again once I receive my album. Overall, I am happy with the in studio session.

We like them in the beginning, and I had trouble with them towards the end. I don't really have much to say about them, because I didn't get my video yet. I will update when I get it.
I actually really liked them a lot. I had Edwin as my photographer who was awesome! He accomodated every request that I had and my photos came out great. I got a LOT of compliments. My only complaint is that I had asked Edwin to take a couple of night shots of my husband and I on the balcony over looking the NY Skyline and they didn't really come out that great....too dark. I met with another photographer (I think it was Michael Michelle Studios) before signing with Abella and saw some samples of their night shots and they were amazing! I think it's because they used a combination of digital and film and I think the lighting in the sky has to be just right. But they were twice as expensive and then you couldn't ever get your images on CD, which was very important to me.
But overall, I was extremely happy with my pictures from Abella and my album is gorgeous! It was a little frustrating getting the rest of my order from them, b/c I think they are under-staffed in the Fairfield office, but Heather from the East Brunswick office was very helpful and I now have everything. Good Luck :)
