I hosted a bridal shower for my future daughter-in-law at Aberdeen Manor, Valparaiso, IN. The shower was wonderful. The south ballroom was perfect for our luncheon. The food was very good and the service was grand. The servers were very efficient and you hardly noticed them doing their job. My guests did not have to ask for a thing. They cover all the details for you and even took the gifts to our vehicles. I enjoyed myself and it was a stress-free event for me.
We just loved the Aberdeen Manor. Everything was perfect and ran so smooth, we didn't have to worry about a thing! Everyone loved that everything was in one location!
Aberdeen Manor is a highly sought-after venue for receptions in Northwest Indiana. The ballroom is absolutely gorgeous! We were slightly disappointed with the food served at the reception and our total cost. However, this is an excellent option for brides who want a lot of the stress of decision-making taken off their hands.
We had our Wedding and Reception at Aberdeen, and It was absolutely amazing! From the moment I walked into Aberdeen, over a year before my wedding, I knew I had to have it there. The venue is beautiful, and unlike some places in the area, it is decorated in neutral colors. (Everything is done in shades of Grey within the ballroom, we viewed several places with bold colored walls, which for a wedding venue i think is tacky.)
Denna coordinated our entire event, and everything was perfect. She was incredibly organized, and didn't miss a single detail. All of the minor issues we had the day of were non Aberdeen related. Denna walked us through everything, making sure dresses were purchased on time, assuring that I kept consistent in my color choices, and with the overall look I was going for. She was incredibly attentive, and didn't miss a beat. The poor woman had her gallbladder removed two weeks before our wedding, and was still present, and had everything under control that day! I was and still am amazed by her!
The hall was set up perfectly when I arrived before the ceremony, it was more than I could ever have hoped for. It literally took my breathe away. The food was delicious, and the staff was beyond amazing! There was no waiting around for them to get things done like I've experienced as a guest at other venues, everything happened exactly as it should have, and they were very friendly and attentive.
Aberdeen isn't just a venue, it's an experience. Denna and Jim Fyock (the owners) make you feel like part of the family, and do everything they can to make sure your day is perfect. I couldn't be more thankful to them and the entire Aberdeen staff!

Aberdeen was the most perfect place to get married. They were very professional and honest. We had an all adult wedding and one of the couples invited brought there kids. All I had to do was tell Megan and she told me to relax and she took care of finding room for them. We also received photos from the wedding as we were leaving! It was the most perfect day!!
My husband and I had our wedding ceremony at The Aberdeen Chapel and our reception at the Aberdeen Manor Ballroom on 9-8-12. Our experience was absolutely wonderful! Our reception was absolutely beautiful! The reception hall was decorated more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. The staff was so helpful in the entire wedding planning process down to the last detail. I bought both my veil and my entire jewelry set from the shop attached to the ballroom. Not only were the prices very reasonable but the jewelry and veil were of very good quality. I can't tell you how many compliments we received when I returned to work after our honeymoon. I had many people approach me and tell me it was one of the most beautiful wedding receptions that they had ever been to. I would definitely recommend this venue to any bride searching for a flawless experience.

The services at Aberdeen Manor are amazing! Denna and her staff are always professional, kind, understanding, organized and helpful. We had a large reception, over 250 people, and every detail was addressed perfectly. They guided us through the whole planning process and the result was better than we could have hoped for. The food was delicious, served quickly and hot. Hard to do with so many people. The venue was beautiful. They offer many lighting options and discounts that really do make a huge difference. Aberdeen Manor was great for planning my wedding. They responded quickly to my questions and were very flexible and easy to work with.
My husband and I had the most memorable wedding planning experience and wedding day that was a dream come true. The family owners at Aberdeen Manor are amazing!!!! They made us feel like family and were always cheerful and welcoming. They ordered samples of fabric when I needed it for the tables, they worked well with my florist and wedding coordinator. The day of the wedding was hot on many fronts. I was told it was the "hottest!" aka best wedding ever. The weather was hot and Aberdeen had water waiting for my guests since we used the beautiful outdoor area. The food was just delicious. Again, many people commented on the food being the best and it was! The bartenders were excellent providing any mixed drinks, the ones you don't expect to have at a wedding. After the reception, Aberdeen had a surprise and it was very special! We would do it all over again without changing a thing as long as we could do it at Aberdeen Manor. As my husband says best, "We should get married more often, to each other of course!"
Our wedding was July 22,2012. WE HAD TO GO LOOK AT ABERDEEN MANOR.When we walked in it was spectacular it took our breath away!!!! The reception hall is beautiful,it doesn't look like your typical convention center/banquet hall.It's gorgeous and elegant,and they decorate!!!!So many places do not allow decorations and do nothing of their own,some allow a few but you have to decorate yourself the morning of your wedding(like there's time for that.)Aberdeen Manor is all about weddings there every bit as involved in the excitement of your day as you are,that's so rare.The garden is just BEAUTIFUL!!!! there is a stone walkway with a little arbor and the pathway continues up to a grand 6 pillar pergola where you say your I-DO'S.Bonus if there is inclimate weather they have a beautiful chapel!!You can choose to have ceiling decor,uplighting,and on and on.The food is FABULOUS!!!! No typical wedding food here,this is 5 star restaraunt quisine!! Everyone is so wonderful you feel more like family then just business.They spend as much time with you as you need planning your wedding day!!You made our Wedding Day truely magical!!!! It was so romantic and so elegant!!!!You gave us the wedding of our dreams!!!! I am very confident that had we gone any where else besides Aberdeen Manor we would have not gotten the beauty and attention to detail that you get at Aberdeen Manor.Our wedding would have been nice,but at Aberdeen Manor you are transported to a whole other level,at Aberdeen Manor we got Our Fairytale!!!! Just a brief story about this wonderful staff. I walked into the door as the groom without my fiance at the time and they were shocked to see that I was one of the first males ever to come alone to pick out INVITATOINS. It was like love at first sight, we laughed about it and than I was treated like a king over there. The owner and her daughter who was about to have a beautiful baby girl spent hours upon hours with us providing input and ideas for our invitations, which ultimately were the most beautiful invitations we have ever seen! The staff was very friendly, always in constant communications and everything turned out better than we could ever imagine!

Being out of town and planning a wedding is hard but not with Denna, everything was done through e-mail and over the phone which worked out really well. I chose Aberdeen Manor nearly eighteen months before my wedding after reading several positive reviews and meeting some of the staff members on a visit. I was planning my wedding from out of town, so I was looking for a venue and staff that was flexible, open, and professional. Aberdeen truly met these expectations for my initial planning. I worked with Meagan as a planner, and she was very receptive to my ideas and provided helpful and insightful suggestions. I also interacted with Carol, who usually works as the bartender for the weddings, who was extremely pleasant and friendly. Most of the staff members I interacted with were superb; however, my interactions Denna, the owner, were less than ideal. I initially decided on Aberdeen Manor because they were so flexible with their vendor selections; however, when I informed Denna of some of my vendors, she informed me that they were not "allowed" - after we had already paid them! When Meagan, another planner, told me that she would be unavailable on the day of my wedding due to her pregnancy, I was pleased for her but less than thrilled that I would have to be dealing with her mother. In all my interactions with Denna, she was extremely inflexible, insulting, and anxious. These were certainly not attributes that I would have associated with a professional who had been in the year for decades! Fortunately, despite Denna's insulting multiple members of my bridal party, calling me the morning of the wedding asking for additional payment, and nearly shoving my ring bearer down the aisle, the wedding went off without a hitch. To her credit, Denna did provide us with a lovely photo book at the end of the evening with a kind note, but it hardly made up for the unnecessary stress she put me and my family through on the day of our wedding! The rest of the staff at Aberdeen is certainly top notch! They were helpful, friendly, kind, and flexible. I would definitely recommend this facility - just be sure you work with Meagan!

Aberdeen Manor was absolutely the best choice for my wedding, if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. The thing that I found most helpful is that Denna was available to answer any and all of my questions within 24 hours. It was such a great help & took so much stress away & was such a big help through the whole process.
They do an absolutely AMAZING job! I didn't have to worry about anything on my wedding day. We finalized all of the plans 3 days before and didn't have to worry about anything after that.
The quality of the the food is amazing. I received so many compliments about everything. I would recommend Aberdeen to any of my friends getting married and their services are top notch!

I cannot say enough great things about Aberdeen and their dream team as I lovingly call them. I was married there in September 2011 and I have not gone a day without talking about how wonderful it was. I knew without even taking a tour it was where my dream day would take place and 2 days after I was engaged and one talk with Megan at Aberdeen we had signed on the dotted line and had ceremony and reception venue and a date. From that day forward for the next 9 months Megan and Denna were wonderful, helpful, attentive, informative and kind. We ended up getting all our invitations done there custom through their bridal store and they were gorgeous! We ordered all bridal party tuxes through there. They are a one stop shop. When the weekend came I stayed there at the Inn at Aberdeen and from the moment I got there Friday afternoon until leaving the Manor Sunday I was treated like a celebrity as if I was their one and only bride they ever had. The chapel is gorgeous and the manor turns into something indescribable and the food....AMAZING! . I would highly recommend it to everyone! Megan and Denna and all at the manor were so terrific whether it was remembering every detail or help with their expertise when I was stressed out, or even clean the dirt from my dress the day of or hand me lipstick for my final seconds before walking down the aisle! At Aberdeen Manor I had a beautiful day and a gret experience!
Every single person that works at aberdeen manor REALLY cares about making your day absolute perfection! I was planning from all the way across the country and they were on top of every single detail, every question, every request, and they are always 5 steps ahead! Denna, Jim,
Trey, and megan are not only wonderful business people but they are kind and caring! There isn't one thing I wish i would have done differently at my wedding and that's thanks to Aberdeen's amazing staff! Also, I highly recommend using any of the vendors they suggest. I used Trans audio for my DJ and Linda Monroe for my cake and it was fabulous!!!
So I can see all of the wonderful reviews on here for Aberdeen, hence why we booked our ceremony with them. Although, we did not have the same experience as these other brides have mentioned. We had the complete opposite experience. Let's start from the beginning, we wanted an outdoor wedding and Aberdeen is the only one who has a back up plan it if rains, plus the grounds are beautiful. So as much as it killed me to pay THAT MUCH MONEY, we went ahead and paid the $750 deposit of the $1500 for two and a half hours on the grounds for the Ceremony ONLY. So we booked the garden in July of 2010 - almost an exact year before our wedding. When we booked we were told we could have our ceremony at 1:00pm or 1:30pm only and could only be on the grounds until 3:00pm no questions asked. That was fine, so then the next question was the rehearsal and when we tried to schedule it, they asked if we were having our rehearsal dinner there as well, and when we said no, they told us we would have to wait 2 months prior to the event to schedule the rehearsal incase another Bride wants the grounds. I found this to be the opposite of what Aberdeen boasts that their brides are "pampered, appreciated and accommodated". This was not the case, clearly it was about which bride was paying the most money.
So two months prior to the event to the date, we called to book the rehearsal. Well since another bride did in fact book an evening reception that night, we could only get in the garden at noon for rehearsal....my mother in law was able to talk to them into 3:30pm because we had out of towners who would not be there by noon. So they agreed to 3:30pm but we HAD to be off the grounds by 4:15pm no later. So we went ahead and sent our rehearsal invites to the bridal party and all who needed to be there. We had several bridal party members take the day off or get off early to make the early rehearsal time.
On June 26, 2011 (two weeks prior to our wedding) we went in to do our final payment and review with Denna. So we paid our left over $750 + tax and went over all of the details. On June 27, 2011 in the evening I received a call from Denna who told me that the bride who booked the evening reception for the night before our wedding informed her just a little while ago that she was having her ceremony there too....so this meant we would have to move our rehearsal up. When we told her that we couldn't do that because not everyone will be in town yet, her reply was "what do you want me to do, have this bride change it when she already sent out her wedding invitations?" then she also made the comment - and this is my favorite "rehearsals are a courtesy, you do not pay for them". So when we called her back to tell her we would just do it at my mother in law's home, she said "thank you, I was between a rock and a hard place and wasn't sure what to do." which obviously she did know what she was going to do....cut our rehearsal because I was the second class bride.
The day of the wedding, we arrived and the ceremony was nice, they set everything up outside like they were suppose to, except that after the ceremony there was not any water for our quests as we had discussed....July + oustide + 90 degree weather should equal water as we were told, but there was not. So the groom said to Megan who was helping us "where is the water for our guests?" she replied with "I wasn't told anything about water, that isn't in our contract." So the groom walked away upset with her attitude and she came back a little later with a single cup of ice water for the groom.
All in all we had a horrible experience and would not recommend to anyone, we paid a total of $1605 for 2 1/2 hours and incredibly rude and unaccommodating service. They might have a beautiful hall and grounds but if you do not use them for your reception, you are second class and not worthy. In my personal opinion they are getting too big for their britches and have lost site of the industry they are in.....making great memories.
Note to any bride planning to use them - READ THE CONTRACT VERY CAREFULLY!
I am so pleased I decided to book my wedding at Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso, IN. The owners and staff are so welcoming and friendly. They go out of their way to make it "your day." Not only is it an elegant venue, but they offer a chapel and a garden setting. There is an endless variety of foods to choose from for dining and lots of decorating options. They are very professional and I couldn't be happier...nor could my guests!
I cant believe how nice the venue was and how smooth everything went. I still have guests calling me to say how the food, staff, and venue was excellent. I wouldn’t have changed a thing if I had to do it again. The staff are more then accommodating to make sure everything is perfect. Plus, they had plenty of options to choose from to make it affordable. I always heard how stressful planning a wedding was but I didn’t have all that stress thanks to the help at Aberdeen. Perfect!!!
I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Aberdeen Manor on December 30, 2010 and it couldn’t have been more perfect! I had less than three months to plan our wedding so it was very important to me to find a one-stop-shop for all my needs and Aberdeen was definitely the place for that!
Every step of the way owner Denna Fyock was there to help me plan the details. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and magical wedding day. The Aberdeen Manor team exceeded our expectations and my husband and I couldn't be more thrilled! All of the Aberdeen Manor staff were terrific - professional, friendly and always extremely helpful! Everyone especially loved the awesome bartender!
AND, the food! The food was to die for! Everyone commented on how delicious and beautifully presented the food was!

Where do I start? I could go on for days and days about how FABULOUS Aberdeen Manor is! IF YOU ARE LOOKING IN NW INDIANA, BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE!!!!!
First of all, I knew this would be the place for my wedding and reception when I fired off my first email, so full of joy and excitement, at 9pm and got a reply back in 20 minutes. I thought, WOW...THIS is customer service! The brains and heart behind it all, Denna, is such a resource it's unbelievable. She was there for me all the way from start to finish - she made every decision easy with all of her years of experience to draw upon. She listened to exactly what my vision was and made it happen. The chapel and the banquet hall were both so beautiful and a nice blank canvas to work with - making personalization a cinch both for the ceremony and reception. You could do as little or as much as you wanted in each facility, but even doing the bare minimum was enough for a stunningly gorgeous event. One of the things I liked best was the price for the reception included everything - I never felt "nickeled and dimed" on things like linens, place settings, etc. Everything was included (of course there were upgrades available but I went with what was included and it was absolutely beautiful). My husband and I both felt what Aberdeen provided was a real value for the money we spent. And having a built-in wedding planner/coordinator like Denna was a priceless value.
And the other thing to mention...is the food is so delicious. Now I know you are saying, wait...wedding food...delicious??? YES YES YES - I can't tell you how many compliments we received on the FOOD! The staff at Aberdeen were prepared, professional and catering to my needs and made me feel like such a princess on my big day.
I could go on and on but that's my two cents. If I had to do it all over again, I would be right back at Aberdeen Manor.

Ladies - if you live in Northwest Indiana, Western Michigan or even Chicago...Aberdeen Manor is an EXCELLENT venue to consider for your ceremony and/or reception. My husband and I were married in the Aberdeen Chapel in Sep 2008 and then had a fantastic reception in their ballroom. The entire staff at Aberdeen is exceptional. They provide extremely courteous and professional service. I worked very closely with Denna Fyock (owner) on the details of our day and she was incredible to work with. She listened to our ideas and offered excellent suggestions to fine tune some things so that our wedding would be top notch! They also provide you with a comprehensive list of their preferred vendors (we used their favored DJ and one of the photographers), which saves you a ton of time from having to research the hundreds of vendors out there yourself. We received many compliments from our guests that our wedding was one of the best and classiest weddings they had ever been too. I know without a doubt that it had everything to do with the way the Aberdeen staff executed our plans. Aberdeen is full service, one-stop shopping..everything from invitations, menu cards, tuxes, jewelry, veils...you name it, they have it. And if they don't...I'm positive Denna and her team would find a way to get it for you. Planning my wedding was a ton of fun and I had zero stress. I have Aberdeen to thank for that. They know the wedding business and are superior people to work with. I could go on and on......
I had both my ceremony and reception at Aberdeen Manor and was very pleased. The owners are very friendly and the personal attention was great. My guests LOVED the fact that we had an evening ceremony and reception directly afterwards just steps away. Food was great as well. I would highly recommend this venue.
Aberdeen Manor is incredible! I worked there for 6 years while I was in high school and college which a big help while planning our wedding! The vendors associated with Aberdeen are wonderful and take care of everything. All I had to do was make the phone calls to book people and I knew the rest would be taken care of. All surpassed my expectations and we had the perfect wedding! Aberdeen offers wedding planning as well and for those of you who feel lost when it comes to planning, take advantage of them! They are experts and know all the special ways to make a wedding perfect! No details goes uncovered!

Every time I entered Aberdeen I felt like I was their only bride... I was always impressed that they remembered who I was by name. From the beginning stages of planning and preparation to the last moment my husband and I stepped out the door at midnight, Denna and Jim (& staff) were extremely helpful, professional and caring. I would recommend Aberdeen to everyone... especially so I could be a guest at a fantastic wedding venue!
Aberdeen Manor is one of NW Indiana's most beautiful reception halls. Trust me, in our reception venue search we went to everyone available hall in NW Indiana. As soon as I walked into Aberdeen Manor, I knew this would be the venue I would book, and I did!
One of the things that really drew me to Aberdeen Manor was that there is no other wedding or event going on at the same time as yours. You get the building/grounds exclusively. This is really a rarity as most places have another wedding/event going on next door to your event! They make you feel special, like a celebrity! All their attention is on YOU, and it should be!
-They were very accommodating, as many of my friends and family are vegetarians.
-A dressing room! This was so nice! It was private and my maids and I got ready in here.
-Deena (owner) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the entire staff was friendly and professional.
-I was presented a photo album on my wedding night, of pictures from the reception! How awesome is it to see pictures the same night? Very thoughtful!
-Beautiful grounds and the chairs here were so gorgeous!
Things that I wish were different:
- They do not allow your photographer to bring backdrops. This would have been nice, in my opinion
