ACA Music & Entertainment

ACA entertainment was great to work with. I only had contact once with the dj, Brian Redd, however he listened to everything I had to say. We had everyone on the dance floor. The sound system and lights were awesome.

This company gave us a great deal, but was incredibly hard to get a hold of. I spoke with the DJ on the phone only once, and he said that was enough time to plan for the wedding. His name was Dann Smith. He didn't play enough slow songs, as we had discussed and apparently was rude to the guests- one of my guests requested a song and he said, "Only if you get me a beer, I'm stuck back here with no booze." I didn't think that was very professional. Also, the mike kept malfunctioning and the songs were skipping. I don't know if that was a result of the amount of dancing (or stomping!) but, it got annoying toward the end of the night. Also, he asked us to provide him with some of the music we requested, which I also felt was unprofessional because I gave him the song titles and artist names. He also forgot to play some key songs.

We had minimal interactions with the actual bookers at ACA Entertainment, none of which were unpleasant, but our band was amazing! We got the Rhythm Kings and they were phenomenal. Everyone (including my 85 year old grandmother) danced the entire night. They went out of their way to make our wedding one of the most fun nights of our entire life.

The sound system cut out twice (once during the Horah). The DJ showed up wearing a cowboy hat, when we had agreed over the phone that it was a black tie event. Plus, he had additional hats under his table, including a sombrero, that he was going to pull out during different songs (until our coordinator told him that this was not appropriate).

We found out about ACA at one of the bridal shows that I went to. Once we booked our wedding reception site, we contacted them right away to find out more about hiring a DJs or a band. They basically are the main dj or band music source in the area. Once we started to explain what we wanted and our wedding date, they recommended DJ Dave Hall. Dave was great! He made sure he had all the songs that were important to us, and let us know what his play list would include for all the different parts of the wedding. He had a different part for the meal, and then for the dancing. Upbeat songs and slow songs, everything was there. People loved it. He also brought in all his own equipment, set up without any problems, and was great about getting the dancers going! I was confused about ACA at first, but in the end I loved them and DJ Dave Hall!

I have a very specific taste in music: I listen to a lot of world music, and wanted to bring that flavor to the wedding reception. So, to make this task easy on our DJs, I decided to take hours of my own time, putting together 3 CDs for our DJs. When the reception came, our DJs decided to play only a small fraction of the songs I specifically requested to be played (from the CDs), also repeated a good number of those songs, played several songs that we requested NOT to be played, as well as played several songs that lyrically were VERY unsuitable for a wedding (sad, brake-up type songs). I was also promised to have a light-show with the music.....the light show consisted of a single spot-light which was moved around during the night. I am extremely disappointed - especially being that music is sooo important to me. Do NOT go with ACA!

I have to say one thing. You get what you pay for. Our DJ was very nice but the sales person was not as nice. I should have seen the red flag when I first talked to them but they had a great price. And in the end it was not so great. I think the DJ had good intentions and we did have our wedding on a Sunday. The biggest thing was we gave him an open floor. Our only request, keep people happy and on the dance floor. I think he was more interested in talking the whole time. He got names wrong, some of the dance song we requested for the dances ex. Bouquet toss, garder toss, generation dance, were not what we requested. Also, he kept coming up to us throughout the night to talk. I do not want to talk to him, I have other people I want and need to talk to on my wedding day.

We had a blast with our DJ's (Randy & Dianne) who we found through ACA Entertainment in brookfield, wi. We came across their booth at a bridal show and thought they were a good deal (6 hours for 600). Little did we know they would be a blast as well! They kept great contact with me and really catered to what we wanted. At one point they had us all doing the YMCA with all different hats. They also pulled out all kinds of props and great music! We were dancing all night long and we will never forget it!

Our DJ was Brian Redd and he was amazing! We could not have asked for a better DJ and music company to work with... it's been over a year since the wedding and our guests are STILL talking about how much fun they had and how great the DJ was. We've been to a dozen weddings in the last year for family and friends, and we've come to realize how truly incredible and talented our DJ from ACA really was. Thank you ACA Entertainment! :)

Dann Smith was our DJ. We found him first, not ACA, so this review pertains more to Dann than to ACA. I really liked working with him. He was friendly, helpful and very accommodating and supportive. He handled our ceremony music, "dinner" music and dancing later. He was EXACTLY what I was looking for - a dj who is not too obnoxious or talkative, while still being friendly and engaging. The only reason I marked down quality of service was because I was told the sound didn't carry so well during the ceremony. But it's a huge room with difficult acoustics and it didn't come with an adequate sound system of it's own. (Hopefully this has been remedied with the remodel.)
