Acorn Bed and Breakfast

Our stay here at the Acorn B&B was more than we ever imagined it to be. Marietta & Hal are amazing and keep every little detail in mind. We wanted a very intimate ceremony and they made sure we felt special on our wedding day. I can not stress how wonderful this place is and how inviting and friendly the atmosphere is. I am so glad I stubbled upon the Acorn and found these 2!!! We loved everything from the ceremony, pictures, breakfast, cottage and most of all the hospitality!!! Thank you both for an AMAZING stay and a WONDERFUL wedding!!!!

Marietta and Hal made our wedding day unforgettable! Every detail was taken care of when we arrived. The grounds are beautiful, and our room was very comfortable. We had a short, but memorable ceremony and got to celebrate with them afterwards. I would highly recommend this venue, Marietta and Hal truly love what they do. We cant wait to come back to celebrate our anniversary!

Trent and I had a lovely ceremony at Acorn B & B. Hal and Marietta put us at ease and made us feel welcome the moment we arrived. They were very kind and upon showing us the spectacular nature area where we would have the ceremony we knew we had found the right place to begin the rest of our lives together!! Every detail was covered, the cottage had two bathing areas for us to get ready, we were not rushed, we had a chance to cool off and prepare on a hot June day in Texas. Marietta even found us a local place to board our puppy, so we knew her first night away from us she would be in good hands. Hal was very to the point in his delivery of the marriage ceremony and vows (which was nice considering the heat), Marietta took some lovely pictures of our journey to and from the alter. Afterwards we had a champagne toast, a petite wedding cake and a memorable conversation with our new friends :-) we will always treasure our special time at Acorn B & B. We woke to birds chirping and newlywed bliss followed by a scrumptious home made breakfast and a lovely photo album of the handsome groom and silly me!! We hope to visit again for anniversary's in years to come. I would highly recommend Acorn to brides and grooms that enjoy a special destination wedding for two or a small few, in the low stress comforts of a garden and bubbling brook set in the Texas Hill Country. i am so glad we stumbled across the acorn bed & breakfast for our wedding. after speaking with marietta, i felt so comfortable allowing her to handle all the details. she was so thoughtful and caring. when we walked through the gate the first time and saw the "secret garden", i knew in my heart that this was the place that i wanted to be married. marietta helped make our day an intimate filled event, and there is not one thing i would have done differently. we have gotten so many comments of how charming everything was by guests and our day was certainly one, we will never forget. we are going back for our 1st anniversary!!

We were looking for a private and intimate place to get married, and I came across the Acorn Bed and Breakfast website. I called and spoke with Marietta and from the moment I spoke with her, I knew this was the place for Jesse and me to become husband and wife. We were not disappointed. This was the first marriage for the each of us, and Hal and Marietta made it very special and memorable. You know down in your spirit when you are exactly where you are meant to be and that was the case for us. The Lord could not have made the day go any more perfect. We felt like we had known Hal and Marietta for years. We highly recommend this venue for anyone who wants a beautiful and peaceful place to become one flesh and share it with two of the most caring, loving, inspiring and compassionate human beings. Hal and Marietta are definitely carrying out their calling on this earth. We will never forget the way both of them made us feel. Plus, after the ceremony, we celebrated the beginning of our new life together with some delicious champagne and their precious Briard dogs! It made our special day even more special because we were able to share our joy and excitement with people who will forever hold a place in our hearts.

And to top all of that off, we stayed in their lovely guesthouse for our first night as husband and wife. It was perfect! Then, we were served the most delicious breakfast the following morning.

The Acorn Bed and Breakfast and Hal & Marietta are truly gifts from God, and we are thankful and grateful to God for allowing us to meet then and share one the greatest moments of our life.

With both of us in college, we wanted a small, intimate, affordable wedding. Acorn B & B was the perfect option. Marietta and Hal were the perfect hosts. They took care of every aspect of the wedding, even down to the small details. The venue was like stepping into a secret garden. The landscaping is green and beautiful, even in mid August during a south Texas drought. They supplied fans and cold bottled water for the guests and sparkling cider for a toast. After the wedding they followed up with a beautiful photo album as well as special framed pictures. This was the perfect wedding, one with wonderful memories for both us and family.

My husband and I wanted a very small intimate wedding, just bride and groom. We are from the DFW area and I searched the internet with a vengeance to find the perfect place. I was looking for something in our area with not much luck in what we were looking for. When I stumbled upon the Acorn Bed and Breakfast. I knew this was the perfect place when I saw the pictures on their website. I really liked the idea of your wedding being outdoors and the landscaping was just beautiful. I called the next day and Marietta was so sweet and personable. They were able to accommodate us on the day we wanted, even with it being a holiday weekend. This date was not negotiable for us and could have easily been a deal breaker for us.

Marietta kept in contact with me on a regular bases leading up to our wedding date. Once I had made the initial call I never had to call again she made sure that everything was taken care of.

Hal preformed a wonderful ceremony for us and we could not be more pleased.

Aside from the ceremony one of the best memories that we walked away with was how sweet and personable Hal and Marietta were. After the ceremony they had a bottle of champagne for us and we sat and talked with them for a while. Great wonderful people and we cannot thank them enough for making our date so special.

My fiancé and I are having a large formal church wedding in August 2011. My dream has always been to be a stay-at-home-wife and this is something that my fiancé is very supportive of. Since the plan all along has been for me to stay home anyway and since I have been chronically stressed out with trying to work full time, plan a wedding and do everything else we decided to elope over Memorial Day weekend 2011 so he could go ahead and add me to his health insurance so I could go ahead and quit my job a few months early and focus 100% on the big wedding.

The civil elopement ceremony was primarily for insurance purposes since we are having a church wedding in August but going to the courthouse just seemed so impersonal and depressing. We still wanted the civil ceremony to be something special and romantic since it would mean that legally we would be husband and wife even though we wouldn’t be telling anybody about the elopement until after the August wedding. We spent lots of time looking on the internet all over the state of Texas for a venue that could perform the civil ceremony over Memorial Day weekend and nothing really clicked with us until we found Acorn Bed & Breakfast.

My fiancé is the one who found Acorn and he is the one who corresponded with Marietta over the phone before hand. He said that she was so nice and personable and that he had a very good feeling about her. I loved the outdoor venue the minute I saw it online but I have to say that it is even more beautiful in real life. It was so lush and green (even though Texas is in the middle of a drought) and the fish pond and waterfall made it perfect. My fiancé and I are both nature lovers but we really wanted a church wedding which ruled out an outdoor wedding so we were thrilled that we were able to have our civil ceremony outdoors in such a beautiful setting. Hal, Marietta’s husband, is the officiant who preformed our ceremony and he did such a wonderful job and made it absolutely perfect.

Marietta took pictures before, during and after our ceremony and she even put them in an album for us. They turned out great! After the ceremony Hal and Marietta offered to open a bottle of champagne with us so they could toast us but my fiancé doesn’t drink and I’m not much of a drinker so they toasted us with Ginger Ale. It was a very nice and unexpected touch and it was great being able to sit in a lovely garden and immediately share our happiness with somebody else.

I would highly recommend Acorn Bed & Breakfast to anybody who is considering eloping. Why go to a cold impersonal courthouse or JP when you can have a lovely outdoor ceremony in a beautiful garden in the beautiful Texas hill country? Not only was Acorn Bed & Breakfast the perfect place for our elopement we could not have asked for more perfect hosts in a more perfect setting.

We wanted a small no fuss/stress ceremony, but pretty and intimate. We got exactly and more what we wanted. Beautiful grounds, private, lovely guest house that is clean and quaint. Our day was beautiful and perfect. Marietta and Hal were the perfect host and provided us with information we needed. We hope to go back for an anniversary some day. Recommend highly!

We had a private groom and bride ceremony at the Acorn and it was exactly what we had envisioned. The guesthouse was adorable as was the entire town. Marietta and Hal worked very hard to make everything perfect for our day. We hope to visit again in years to come. Thanks Acorn !!

We had our wedding at the Acorn Bed and Breakfast and could not have been more satisfied. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, through much care on the part of the owners. Even in January, the trees and ivy were picture-perfect. Marietta worked with us and was always beyond helpful and kind. She wanted to make sure every detail was right for our big day and it was. You would be hard pressed to find a more friendly proprietor who makes it their goal to make sure you enjoy your time at The Acorn. While we didn't stay overnight at The Acorn, we did dress and prepare in the guest house for the wedding. It was wonderfully decorated, fully furnished, and immaculate. We fully plan on visiting our wedding site again in the future and I know we enjoy our stay there. Oh, and I haven't yet mentioned all of the extra touches. Hot cider for our wedding guests, great photos of the ceremony, and a photo album lovingly organized. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our experience!

We had such an unforgettable and sweet Wedding experience. We had such an amazing Wedding. It was so beautiful and enchanting. We loved every minute of it and will never forget it and know we wil be back to visit. Marietta and Hal are very sweet and really want it to be about the couple. She even does some photography and some fun extra things to make it special. We also stayed the night there and it was very private and fully furnished. It has a nice tub with fun bath bubbles. My favorite thing about staying there was their amazing breakfast that they serve in the morning and now they even have bread for people with wheat allergy.

this place was excellent if i every get married again i will defiantly be here.

The grounds are so well-tended to and the venue is quaint and intimate...A lovely sanctuary with lush landscape and romantic gazebo! The dear couple that run it are warm and treat their visitors like family...Their guesthouse is detached from the main house, which provides privacy...Such an inviting and charming bed and breakfast!

Marietta and Hal run one of the secret jewels of the Texas Hill Country. Their service and friendly welcoming hospitality are sure to charm anyone visiting the Acorn. For wedding services and receptions, the facilities are wonderful and well maintained, providing a unique and satisfying experience.
