Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom
Not only is the ballroom breath taking- Jessie and her staff were & are so welcoming, detail oriented, friendly, and professional. We had meetings to make sure we were both on the same page, make sure I was on track with my planning, and to make sure the ballroom would be decorated the way we wanted them to be. My stresses were taken away because I knew Jessie was taking care of things while I was away the week prior to our reception. Jessie was very easy to get a hold of if I needed to get or give any information. The food was delicious - we got so many complements from all of our guests. The wine beer & champagne were good as well. Jessie and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel like the king and queen of our reception. I have nothing but positive and great things to say about this venue as well as Jessie. If I could I would do it again because I had so much fun with Jessie and the ballroom.
This was the best venue I could have ever dreamed of! The ballroom is beautiful, I had both my ceremony and reception there. The turnaround for the two events was very quick (10-15 min). The best feature of this venue by far is Jessie- the onsite wedding coordinator. She was there for every step of the way. She told me when I needed to have stuff done, who I needed to contact, took all of the information and made the day-of arrangements for me. She made my day flow flawlessly and I would highly recommend this venue to ANYONE who wants a stress free wedding day!!!
The Adrianna Hill ballroom was beautiful! I couldn't have dreamed up a better venue for our wedding reception. The moment I walked into the venue for the first time, I knew it was where I wanted our wedding reception to be held. Every part of the evening was a fantastic success! The food was delicious and all of the event staff were helpful, kind and professional.
Not only was the venue perfect, but Jessie, the coordinator, was amazing to work with. She was attentive and creative. During the event and through the planning process, she was extremely patient with us and our indecisiveness and constant changes. She was friendly and kind. She met with us multiple times before the wedding to help plan and was so positive and genuinely excited to see us every time we met. By providing us with helpful documents and reminders, she helped to keep us organized and on top of things that needed to get done. Jessie has great ideas and wonderful vendor suggestions. She went above and beyond to ensure our event went smoothly. She contacted and met with all of our chosen vendors and did a great job of coordinating them all. She is passionate about what she does and will do everything she can to make your wedding perfect. We only had our reception at the Adrianna, but throughout the whole event she was wonderful! She kept the event on schedule and made sure my new husband and I were ready and where we needed to be every step of the way. She even helped me change my shoes a few times! Our wedding day was a dream come true and it wouldn't have been the same at any other venue and without the help of Jessie!
Our wedding was one of the most magical days, and many thanks go to the Ballroom and staff. Jessie the event coordinator at the venue is amazing, she helps you through the the months leading up to the wedding to make sure your day is exactly how you envision. The food was excellent and is one of the many top compliments I have for this place. We wanted to do something different and serve mexican food, and even though it wasn't one of the catering packages, they were totally accommodating and delivered perfectly our request. There was not one thing that went wrong at our wedding and I owe it to the Adrianna Hill Ballroom for what many of our wedding guests have called "the best wedding they have ever been to".
This ballroom is so beautiful I knew I had to get married there. After meeting Jessie it made my decision final. Jessie is so amazing and made our wedding day fantastic. She made sure everything ran smooth and directed all my other vendors on what to do. The food was amazing and I got a lot of compliments from guests about it. My wedding was so great and I owe a lot of it to Jessie.
The Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom was without a doubt everything I could have asked for and so much more. The ballroom itself is elegant and has great vintage touches. The white trim and blue ceiling added a unique touch we just loved. We had the ceremony followed by the reception. After my new husband and I walked back down the isle, all the guests were invited upstairs to the balcony to have drinks, mingle, snack on delicious appetizers and watch us take photos.
The transition from ceremony to reception was made easy and stress free by the amazing Jessie and her staff. Oh, Jessie, the wedding coordinator fairy godmother. She was what really sold us on the ballroom. We loved the all-inclusive-ness off venue/food/drinks/coordinator all in one, but I had no idea how critical Jessie would be in our big day. In preparation she helped us plan every little detail and asked all the questions we didn't even think about. Her list of suggested vendors paid off well too.
Day of the wedding, Jessie and her staff seemed to be everywhere we needed them and always wonderfully behind the scenes. Jessie provided a very helpful timeline of events to all our key family/friends and made everything go smoothly. We had SO much fun at our own wedding, which I've heard can be difficult. With the wonderful staff at the ballroom we were able to just let go and have a memorable night with our family and friends.

We loved the Adrianna and the coordinator for the ballroom. We looked at a million places and knew right away this was the right place. Do be aware that there is no air conditioning so a summer wedding can get really hot. But, if your wedding is in a cooler month or you're able to just "go with it" in the summer, the place is great. The food was really good and the building is gorgeous. One other thing to keep in mind is that there are 2 ballrooms in the same building, so make sure people know which floor you're on and maybe make some signs for the entry-way. We would definitely recommend the Adrianna to people looking for a ballroom for any sort of event. It definitely helped make our wedding special.
There is a lot of details and timing synchronizations that play a great deal in success and failure of any event such as a wedding. The family is involved with the guests and has many other responsibilities and activities that those details would be impossible to keep in mind, take care of, organized and execute on time. On the other hand, Jessie from the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom, was on top of everything, organized, attentive, creative and willing to work with us to make everything happen the best possible way. The setup, wedding ceremony, reception, dinner, dance and everything was so organized and so pleasant and beautiful that we had many compliments and rave reviews, which of course we could not take credit for and gave the credit where it was due, to Jessie and her team.
Without any hesitation and/or any reservations, I DO recommend Jessie the greatest Wedding Coordinator/Planner and oh… yes, the Ballroom (breath taking and so beautiful) to anyone thinking about organizing a wedding party, and I imagine, any other such gatherings. You will be very happy you had the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom as the location and Jessie on your side on every step of the way.
Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom is the most beautiful place to get married. During our search for the perfect venue, we traveled to different places. Some were okay, others were not. Once we stepped inside Adrianna Hill and met Wedding Coordinator Jessie, we immediately fell in love. The place is so breathtaking and Huge! The walls and ceiling blend in the astonishing colors. Everytime we walked in for a meeting, we couldn't wait to get married because the place is so warm and illuminating.
Our wedding coordinator Jessie is the greatest. You can definitely tell that she is a professional and has been doing this job for quite some time. She lets you know that she is here for you and your big day. She puts your wedding first and wants you to have everything you need. She likes to have several meetings, which we enjoyed because it helps put the wedding together. She is so charasmatic and lovely. She gives off great recommendations for other vendors such as: photography, dj, cakes. That was awesome because every vendor we went to would ask us where are we getting married at. Once we tell them the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom, their next question is, 'Are you working with Jessie because she's great!' And she certainly is. Also her staff is wonderful and helpful throughout your big day. And the food is amazing. No complaints from any guests which makes you feel blessed that we picked the right Venue. My wedding was the best day of my life. Everything I could have imagined came true at the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom. From the first second I met Jessie all the way to the final day, everything was more than I could have asked for. The venue is breathtaking, the amenities it offers is endless, the food is fabulous, sound quality is awesome, it photographs great, and most importantly, the wedding coordinator, Jessie, is out of this world. I don’t know if I could have planned it all without her. If I could list every positive word in the dictionary to describe her, I would! My reception alone was 7 hours; it was a mixed-culture wedding and posed many obstacles from food, high guest count, DJ and band, special dances, traditions, and a strict timeline. Jessie and her staff worked so hard all night and went above and beyond meeting my expectations, the whole evening was flawless. It is 5 weeks post-wedding day, and there is not a day that goes by that someone doesn’t tell me that my wedding was the most beautiful and fun wedding they have ever been to, and the ambience of the Adrianna Ballroom had a lot to do with it, it’s just such a magical venue and all the staff are so friendly and extremely hard working. You couldn’t give me a million dollars to say anything negative about Adrianna Ballroom! If you are a bride or groom looking for a wedding venue in Portland, OR, don’t look anywhere else, you will find everything you need at the Adrianna Ballroom and the best added bonus is Jessie, she is absolutely AMAZING!
Where do I begin in explaining the gratitude and amazingness that the Adrianna Hill Grand ballroom and their staff has brought to my life. Initially, when beginning my venue search I had about 12 appointments booked to look at places for my special day. Adrianna Hill was my first stop! Upon walking in the ballroom the feeling of peace, love and elegance was overwhelming. Then I met Jessie...who her beauty and high energy made me feel like we had been best friends for years! She was just as excited for me and my fiance as I was! I was instantly comfortable with her and trusted her with helping me plan my wedding.
Needless to say, I sat at lunch after meeting with Jessie and seeing the ballroom and we decided that there was absolutely no need to go any further, we had found our venue. I met with Jessie about a half dozen times within the year and she helped me stay focused, timely and reassured me that I was not going to lose my mind through this process. Jessie also does the day of coordinating, all of this is included in the package price! The Adrianna Hill has TONS of decor options, so really it is like one stop shopping! You don't have to rent tables, chairs, linens, dinnerware, glassware, or flatware. On top of the basics they have candles, votives, aisle runners, square mirrors, vases and cake knife and flutes that you can use as well. If all that was not enough the food is to die for! The ballroom has so many options for dinner, it is amazing! I was blown away by how much I saved and I still got my dream wedding!!!
I think every bride needs an awesome team around her to make sure everything flows and that is exactly what Jessie does and her staff is nothing short of superior. When I arrived at the ballroom the day of my wedding there were snacks, champagne and a fan. I had a summer wedding and I was very nervous about sweating too much and Jessie took it upon herself to make sure that I stayed cool. There was a minor hiccup due to another vendor and before I could even say anything Jessie already had a solution and everything turned out so much better than originally planned.
All in all looking back if I could, I would get married at least once a month, if and only if it was at the ballroom with Jessie & Tim. They both are great people and genuinely care about your day and making it special for you!
Review of the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom
In July of this year, we hosted our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding reception of 176 guests at the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom on S.W. Yamhill Street in downtown Portland.
Even though the city works to cultivate its “Keep Portland Weird” image, there are a few places which harken back to kinder and gentler days with elegance and grace.
This is the case of the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom. It is a magical fairy tale setting with staff to match. The formal Victorian architecture contrasts nicely with Jessie, co-owner and number one cheerleader. Her energy and perkiness seem boundless, and her attention to detail - impressive, even for a demanding mother of the bride, like me. At times, I seriously wondered if she went home each day and kicked her cat. The small crew which works under her was also professional, thorough and on task throughout the event.
While the setting is stunning and Jessie and staff amazing, prepare to spend extra money on top of the contract price for items which are not included. The linens, chairs, glassware and silverware are all a bit shabby and in need of updating. With 176 guests, we rented water glasses because the venue did not have enough and Riedel wine glasses because of the quality of the existing ones. We also rented chair covers.
If your guests are “foodies” or “wine snobs”, you may want to consider another venue. Tim, co-owner and chef, does the best he can with no on-site kitchen. In addition, the wine is very low end. I inquired about changing out their wine for better wine which we would bring in. Not only was Jessie unwilling to give us a credit for bringing in our own wine, but she also insisted on charging us a corking fee.
The only other negative is that the ballroom is not air conditioned. Our July reception took place in 78 degree weather, and it was a bit warm inside even though the fans were running.
Overall, on a five-point scale with 5 the highest, I would give the venue a 4 (a 5 on cool day), the staff a 5, the food a 3 and the wine a 2. So, if your emphasis is not on food, wine, sparkling glassware and luxurious linens, but, instead on a beautiful setting with a wedding coordinator who does not miss a beat, the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom is your place.

The management at the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom would like to comment in response to this review. Our linens are provided by a linen rental company that provides linens to many restaurants and banquet halls in Portland and are not "shabby". Our silverware and glassware is the same type and quality which is used by many banquet halls and does not need to be upgraded. We are willing to work with our clients to provide the highest quality services and this includes food and beverage. This client decided to select a package which included the house beer, wine and champagne. We offer upgraded wine packages at an additional cost, but this was not selected. It is common industry practice to charge a corkage fee if wine is brought in by the client and also required by the OLCC. We get many compliments on our food, which is indicated in the other reviews. Our ballroom is always set with tables, chairs, linens, silverware and glassware along a selection of centerpieces to show to our potential clients and these items are included in our package prices. We are pleased this client acknowleged our excellent staff, coordination and the fairy tale setting of the ballroom and appreciate these comments.
As soon as I walked into the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom, I fell in love. My mother and I were out touring several venues in Portland, and last minute I called to see if they had anything available. While Jessie was busy in a meeting, they were able to squeeze me in and have one of the co-owners (Tim) give us a tour. I knew it was it. I called my fiance and told him I had found our venue. When I brought him there, he also fell in love and we signed our contract just days later. Jessie made our wedding seem like it was THE ONLY wedding that mattered to her. She made our wedding day so stress free and run so smoothly. Amazing doesn't even come close. We've only been married since June 26th, 2011 and already we have received TONS of compliments on how beautiful our venue was. I felt like Cinderalla at her Ball!!!
Jessie at the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom is just a true treat to work with while planning your special day! The ballroom itself is just gorgeous and such a perfect atmosphere to celebrate in with family and friends! It is a bit costly, but so worth it as you will be taken care of through the whole process. Jessie really does make it all so easy and enjoyable! We have received many many compliments on how beautiful the reception space was that night. We wish every other couple a night like ours at the Adrianna...just magical.
The Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom is an absolute treasure. This was the last venue we viewed for our wedding and we knew immediately it was the one as soon as we spoke with Jessie. The venue is gorgeous and will make your wedding look great without having to worry about spendy or extensive decorations. The pricing structure is pretty set, save for a few discounts depending on when your date is and some other things. But having Jessie be there as your planner, organize all your other vendors, make sure everything is thought of and taken care of, and having her help you run rehearsal and get you through the day? You can't beat that. Everything was perfect for our day and it was all thanks to Jessie and her amazing staff. Jessie is a doll and she has the best attitude. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. We chose this place because it was simple and clear-cut the pricing structure and what you get (which is a ton!). Go with the Adrianna. You will be glad you did.

We got married at the Adrianna Hill August 21, 2010 and it was AMAZING! We were between two wedding venues downtown but Jessie(Wedding Coordinator at the Adrianna) was the ultimate reason we decided to move forward with this venue. The location is PERFECT, we had our guests stay at the Paramount Hotel, our guests could walk to the hotel from the ballroom. The food was GREAT, the venue looked exactly like I expected it to. Jessie is very organized, professional, and responsive. Jessie had everything ready to go, she took care of everything through out the night. I had multiple shoe changes so that I could save my feet as much as possible, she made sure I had the right shoes on for the special moments for pictures, and she kept us on schedule. I loved my wedding day and she played a HUGE part in that.
This venue was beautiful and Jessie was so incredibly organized and on top of things!!! We just love Jessie! We could not have picked a better place to have our wedding! I was also an out of town bride and Jessie made everything run so smoothly that I didn't have to worry about anything! Also - I know many people wonder about the food... although I didn't eat really much of anything - excitement and nerves... I heard from SO MANY of our guests that the food was delicious! So just take that in! :)

The Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom was the perfect place for our spring wedding. The entire team, headed by the lovely Jessie, was the epitomy of professional, knowledgable, helpful, and organized. Not only is the space stunning and the ambiance romantic and classic, but the option of hosting a ceremony and reception all in one was exactly what we wanted. Jessie was a dream wedding coordinator and both my husband and I truely felt she listened to our wishes and executed our wedding day flawlessly in line with our expectations. She met with us multiple times throughout the wedding planning process to ensure we were on a timely schedule to be ready for our wedding. She coordinated all of our vendors politely and appropriately, even the hard to manage ones! She is very special and has a knack for making you feel important. On our wedding day, we didn't worry about a thing knowing that everything was in her very capable hands (along with Mel and Tim, her team)! My husband and I feel very fortunate that we wandered into the Adrianna Hill on accident one weekend and found our perfect wedding venue. If you are looking for a beautiful space, delicious food, charming character, and a staff that will only exceed your expectations, the Adrianna is exactly what you are looking for. They do not disappoint!!
The Adrianna Hill Grand ballroom is the absolute perfect place for your wedding. As soon as I walked into the ballroom I was in love but didnt think we could afford something like this but the pricing is awesome!!! I was able to have my dream day at my dream place and it was fantastic! The coordinator Jessie was absolutely wonderful.....I don't know what I would've done without her through this planning process. Everytime we met she greeted us with a huge hug and smile and made us so comfortable. As for the big day-oh my goodness-I wouldve been so stressed out if it wasnt for her! She made everything go smoothly and anytime I started to freak out or have a melt down she was right there to calm me down and try to fix or help in anyway she could! Jessie and the ballroom staff were absolutley wonderful-they make you feel like you are personal family or friends instead of just someone getting married at their venue! I would reccomend the Adrianna Hill to anyone- the pricing and venue and stuff are all absolutely wonderful!!

What a wonderful venue! It is elegant and vibrant yet comfortable and intimate. Our reception went perfectly. Not only that, but all preparations created a seamless evening of memories, food, beverage, and dancing. Several of my guests said, "this is the best wedding food we've had in a long time". Some said, "I love the ambiance". Others remarked, "It is beautiful and the service is remarkable". I agree with all of them! The owners are helpful and the manager is incredible knowledgeable and attentive. You will be more than pleased with how your wedding day turns out having held it at the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom.
The Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom is a beautiful venue. And the food was excellent! As an out of town bride, the all inclusive package made my life much easier! Jessie, the wedding coordinator, was fantastic! She made the wedding day worry free. The only downside is that the price is almost non-negotiable. None-the-less, a great venue and would recommend (especially to out of town brides!!).
The Adrianna was the perfect place for our reception. The moment I walked in, I knew it. They provided a beautiful atmosphere. With a hardwood floor, beautifully adorned walls and a blue Cinderella ceiling, it was truly magical.
They made delicious food (exactly what we wanted), served the cake and champagne for us and conducted the entire affair without one single hitch. They worked with all of our vendors to make it easy for them and helped the DJ keep track of time. Our planning sessions with them were smooth and decisions were made quickly. They also worked with our crazy centerpieces.:) I felt like a guest at someone else’s wedding because everything was so well organized during the reception. They made the clean up/set up really easy on my family too, so no one was left after cleaning things for hours.
I can not say enough good things about this place. Talk about not having to worry about anything for your wedding day. The food, decor, wedding session, everything is personalized to what you want! It was incredible. The wedding planner, Jessie, made my life so easy that day. She made everything flow how it was supposed to with out any worries. The bridal party was taken care of, everything was set-up before we got there, and the transition from ceremony to reception was incredible!! and did i mention there food is great!!!
The Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom is the PERFECT place for a wedding. We fell in love with this venue the second we walked in and knew this was where we were meant to begin the rest of our lives as one. I too was nervous about the pricing, but we were able to work with the packages available in regards to food and alcohol. The food was wonderful and they have a wide variety of selections, something sure to please each guest. I didn't have to worry about a thing on my wedding day - everything was pre-coordinated with my outside vendors. Phillip, Linda, and the event planning were so helpful during the planning process and were eager to make my day all I dreamed it would be - I really did feel like Cinderella. The ballroom is gorgeous and provides such a vintage, classy atmosphere you don't have to decorate it at all! I would reccommend this venue to anyone!
Miro, our coordinator at the ballroom, was FANTASTIC! She bent over backward to help us have a beautiful reception. And, she was there beside us all night during the reception telling us where to go, what to do, etc. She made this venue for us!
I can not say enough good things about Adrianna Hill! It is the most beautiful place anyone could ever imagine having a reception at. They do absolutely everything for you- set up to tear down. It was wonderful not having to worry about decorating some place on my own. The food was wonderful, the service was superb. Our guests could not stop saying nice things! Their event coordinators are absolutely fantastic. They have an array of packages to choose from for food giving you lots of options. Definitely could not have imagined having our reception any place else!
Thanks soo much - we couldnt have figured everything out without you. Were down in Nicaragua right now enjoying our lovely honeymoon. Everyone in our families loved Adrianna and thought you did such a great job getting everyone to where they were supposed to, even though there were so many of us.

I am constantly amazed how Jesse makes the bride and groom the center of her full attention. There isn't one detail that is left to chance. The Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom is a beautiful and unique wedding venue in the heart of downtown Portland. Historic Victorian ballroom in downtown Portland provides the perfect setting for weddings and receptions. Fully decorated featuring restored hardwood floors, suspended U-shaped balcony, 55' long stage backed by high cathedral style wall, original ornate chandeliers and 35' high vaulted ceiling. Built in 1901, this storybook setting with distinctive architecture has been recently refurbished.
