Rob Alberti’s Event Services, DJ & Lighting

Allowed my bride and me to enjoy our affair and not worry about the music or flow of the evening. Knew when to play the right songs to either slow it down or get it moving. Worked out all the details ahead of time and went with the flow when changes occurred. Also, ceremony got moved inside due to weather, Rob made the ceremony look totally different from the reception which was held in the same room through the use of the uplights. Extra cost, but worth every dollar. Would use them again for other parties as only plan on being married once.

We chose Rob Alberti after seeing him DJ a friend's wedding. We could not have been happier with his services. Not only was he accommodating and responsive (meeting us at a coffee shop local to us), he was also extremely helpful in the planning process. During the wedding itself, Rob was a calm presence, letting me know when we needed to move things along and keeping things on track. The guests raved about the flow of the event and the dance floor was never empty. I will recommend him over and over again in the future.

Amazing what these guys did to a simple room. The decorations coupled with the lighting gave our room a feel of sophistication and elegance. The lighting changed with the activities and created a magic atmosphere. Loved every minute of it. Thanks to Brian and Rob.

Rob listened to our requests. When I felt like my guests were enjoying a certain song I'd ask for him to pump it up a bit and put something that will get the guests back on their feet and he did it right away. My guests said it was one of the best weddings they have been too. Music was great for all ages.

Rob Alberti provided the custom lighting for our event. We were wed and had our reception at the Society Room of Hartford. He discussed in detail with us the layout of the venue and recommended lighting custom tailored to the Society Room. His expertise in lighting did not disappoint and our guests (and even the venue) would amazed at how his lighting TRANSFORMED the venue throughout the evening. For our ceremony, Rob Alberti provided a white wash uplight of the venue which made the Society Room glow a slight gold color. It was INCREDIBLE. For our wedding we went with a "winter wonderland" theme. Therefore, for cocktail hour and dinner, Rob Alberti provided an ice blue uplight wash with snowflakes on the ceiling. The colors and feel were incredible.After dinner later into the evening Rob rotated the uplighting colors giving a great atmosphere for us to dance the night away.Rob was incredible and I would recommend anyone looking for custom uplighting for their venue to seriously consider Mr. Alberti.

There were many interruptions at my daughters wedding with ambulances and fire trucks and delays in guests arriving because of shuttle problems. Mr. Foley's professionalism and flexibility were greatly appreciated. He went about and beyond the call of duty.Thank you.Anne Novak

My husband and I could not be any happier with our DJ, Brian, from Rob Alberti's Event Services (After Hours DJ's). We initially considered After Hours DJ because of their affordable price. We contacted Rob to let him know we were interested and he quickly set up a time to meet. We met Rob at a local Barnes and Noble, so it was very convenient for us. When we met with Rob, he showed us our different options and did not push the most expensive packages on us. (Another thing we liked is that the meeting was very tailored to us - we had met with another photography vendor who kept talking for 2 hours!) He was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed in order to make a decision (everything he gave us was also online, so if we needed to reference it later and didn't have the paper with us, it was easily accessible).After deciding that we wanted to book with After Hours, we notified Rob and he quickly assigned a DJ to us. We learned that our DJ would be Brian, and had access to his contact information. I can't remember if we contacted Brian first or if Brian contacted us, but I guess that doesn't really matter. We booked with After Hours with plenty of time before our wedding, but we wanted to meet Brian and he quickly agreed to meet at a time and place that was convenient for us. We immediately liked Brian. He was very friendly, gave us a background of his experience, answered our questions, and offered advice when we asked his personal/professional opinion. We had told Brian how important we felt the DJ was for a wedding, that they could make it or break it. We also told him that we were looking for a DJ who would listen to what we wanted and would also use his professional judgement during the reception. He definitely did this.Something else I should mention is that my husband and I wanted to do something different for our reception. We had made three slideshow music videos- 1 to play before the wedding party was introduced, 1 during the father/daughter dance, and 1 during mother/son dance. We knew that this would have to be done through our DJ so asked for another meeting with him. When we brought it up to Brian he told us that it was different and that he hadn't done that before (because we had made the slideshows with music on our computers already) but he had done music videos with other functions before and would find a way to make it work out. He made sure that he had all of the videos and that they all worked through his computer with the projector he had - obviously this is something that my husband and I were nervous about because we wanted it all to work out...and it all did! Brian went to our reception site a couple of hours early to make sure everything worked out, did a few trial runs, and everything went off without a hitch!We had mentioned to Brian that we wanted as much time dancing as possible. There was a time during the dinner when the next course wasn't expected for another 10-15 minutes so Brian came and asked us if we wanted to do the parental dances during that time, so we did, and that allowed for more time dancing! He was so professional the entire time and came to us without intruding or leaving the other guests hanging to let us know of what we would be doing within the next few minutes (cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter toss), so we were never caught off guard.This is probably more information than I probably needed to put, but I just want to express how pleased we are with Brian and After Hours. I would definitely recommend them for anyone! They absolutely catered to what we wanted - no funny gimicks or "surprises." Their motto is "If you remember the music, you'll never forget the times." This is absolutely true. My husband and I will never forget how much fun we or our guests had. We received many compliments of how much fun everyone had at the wedding and we truly believe a large part of that is because of Brian.

Brian Birrell was the DJ for our wedding, and he was very helpful and always made himself available to us when we had questions or problems before the wedding. On the big day, he was able to transform our vague suggestions for the types of music we wanted to hear during the reception into exactly what we wanted. He had what seemed like the entire room up and dancing all night! For our first dance at the reception we had requested he play a slower, acoustic version of a song for our first dance that he didn't have, and he was able to slow down the version he did have for our dance on very short notice (it was INCREDIBLE). I can't say enough good things about Brian, and about the service he provided us and our families at our reception. From setting up the sound equipment for the ceremony to DJ'ing our reception Brian was very knowledgeable, patient, courteous and professional, and made our wedding better than I ever could have imagined. Our families are still talking about it!

Rob was a DJ for my husbands sisters wedding. We liked him so much we booked him for our wedding. Rob is very organized. He did everything we expected him to do. Everyone was dancing all night and was having a great time on the dance floor. He followed our "do not play" and "please play" lists very well. I would refer him to anyone!

Amazing DJ!! Rob did an awesome job at our wedding, we thoroughly enjoyed working with him from the very first meeting to the day of. He was there to answer any questions we had from beginning to end, gave advice and did a great job playing everything we were interested in. We used Rob for our wedding in August at the G. Fox room and he did an incredible job! Our music was tight -- we danced all night long -- and he kept the evening flowing smoothly. He also came in with his amazing lighting situation and dramatically impacted the mood and feel of our party. We LOVED his lighting!! The only word that could describe Rob Alberti is "amazing". He not only helped us through his services, but listened and gave advice on other aspects of the ceremony. The music itself was perfect, and when we found out that we needed to be miked the day of so that people could hear us for the ceremony, he was right there with the needed equipment. I would highly recommend Rob from After Hours for any wedding. He was always very professional, organized, followed up, and asked all the right questions prior to the event to make sure our wedding went smoothly. We gave him a general outline of must play/don't play songs, and he seamlessly filled in the rest. People were dancing at our wedding before dinner even started! He pronounced everyones names correctly, kept things running smoothly, was never cheesy or hokey, and most importantly kept everyone dancing. The wedding cd after the wedding was an amazing touch which just went above and beyond our expectations. Rob did an amazing job!

We used Rob Alberti, what a professional guy. He made us feel extremely comfortable and relaxed. We didn't even realize, but our ceremony was recorded by Rob and we were mailed 4 cd's with music from our reception and our ceremony dubbed into our song, it was an amazing surprise. We couldn't have asked for more from Rob!

Martin was our DJ and he was great! We wanted a no cheese, play what we want and not what we don't want type of DJ and he stuck to everything we discussed before the wedding. He had a great presence over the reception and kept the night going with lots of fun songs for dancing! All of our guests had a great time! You can't beat the value either if you are looking for a great dj to get the job done right!

We had a wonderful experience with Rob at After Hours DJ. The meetings beforehand went very smoothly and we were very confident that the music at the reception would be perfect. The night of, all of the songs that we had requested were played and Rob read the crowd perfectly for the rest of the music he played. All of our guests had a fabulous time and the dance floor wasn't empty for a minute! Our reception was at a hotel and even the people who worked at the front desk told us how much fun they had listening to the music being played all night. We got married in August and I was lucky enough to have all great vendors, Rob Alberti being one of them. Rob was our DJ and did the lighting for our special day. Every guest had something great to say about the lighting. It really made our reception "pop". We even had our names in the center of the dance floor which was designed by both Rob and myself- it looked amazing! Rob even sent us the exact design in a holiday ornament around the holiday time which I thought was very thoughtful and shows that he cares about his clients even after the contract is fulfilled.Rob responded to every one of my emails within a day or so, he helped out with every question I had, he kept a very practical timeline which made me feel better that things were getting done. He knew exactly what he was doing and it showed before and during the wedding. We even had some weird family issues that might have complicated introductions but he took care of it like a professional and it went smooth. Every part of our reception was perfect and I would recommend Rob's services to anyone.

We had Tony Simmons as our DJ and he was great. Everyone was on their feet dancing from the start. He was able to keep the older crowd dancing along side the younger people. Everyone was impressed. Tony was even able to incorporate traditional ethic music seamlessly without causing a mass exit of the dance floor. Highly recommend Tony.

Rob did a fabulous job. He was really willing to work with us to incorporate our choices of music but still making sure everyone had a great time.

Tony Pluta was our DJ. He was extremely flexible and willing to play whatever music we had on our playlist. During the wedding itself he was responsive to all of our requests and he was nice enough to stay 1/2 hour later. He did not have his own agenda and was truly there to help us and make our wedding great. Thanks for a job well done!

Rob Alberti was our After Hours DJ. He did a great job tuning his reception performance to our preference for a more understated/unobtrusive DJ and for our musical tastes. And despite laying low, he still managed to keep the reception humming along on time, and kept just about everyone dancing for most of the night. He also coordinated seamlessly with the venue staff and was completely self-sufficient, so it was one less thing we had to deal with.He also mic'ed our ceremony so not only could everyone clearly hear us, but we also got a recording of our vows. We highly recommend Rob.

Rob was our DJ and worked very well with our other vendors, and getting everything set up. He was easy to get in contact with, and had a lot of resources, like a music suggestion database, to help you. He also mic'd our ceremony, which was a huge help. Rob is not the DJ who is going to talk much or get in the mix of things with you or your guests. If you are looking for a professional DJ who will play the music you want, then Rob is a good fit.

Tony was a great dj at our wedding and played music that we asked him to. He was also very flexible with getting equipment ready for our ceremony so my husband and I could sing a song together. The price is a bit high but overall worth it for the quality. The only complaint I would have is that he was difficult to get in touch with the week before the wedding but once we spoke with him he was very apologetic and made sure that everything we requested was done. Overall great experience!

Does great at mixing in requested songs with his own selections. Keeps people on the dance floor.

We had booked this service for our wedding on 08/21/10. When we met with the DJ to finalize our agreement everything seemed awesome and we both liked what we heard, we had booked him for a 5 hour wedding with a basic lighting kit package. Half of our family is polish and it was extremely important that the DJ played polish music along with all of the other songs through out the night. The DJ said that would be no problem thats he has done numerous polish weddings and that he'd play appox two fast songs then a slow song and would mix in polish songs. After we left the meeting he handed us a "worksheet" to fill what songs we wanted for the processional, recessional, flower toss etc... and any songs that we wanted to be played specificly during the night. We spent quite some time over the next few weeks choosing the music that we wanted played at the wedding including names of polish bands and artists that we wanted played to help outLike I said everything seemed great until the wedding day. The DJ showed up with out the lighting kit that we agreed on with the DJ package. He had butchered almost all of my groomsmens last names even thought about 2 mintues before he announced them he came over to them to ask how to pronounce them. For one of my groomsmen he only said the first three letters of his last name! He didn't even look at the "worksheet" that we filled out for him. He had to come up to us numerous times to ask what song he should play next and he didn't even have some of the songs really and had to search for them. He barely played any polish songs during the whole event the one he did play was a polish christmas song. The only time he played polish music was after I asked him numerous times during the night and eventually I got extremely mad and yelled at him and then he finally played it but by that time there was only 15-20 mins left to the night. He didnt even follow the two fast songs one slow song pattern that he told us that he would. We had plenty of people at the wedding that didn't even get to dance and had come up to me saying the DJ service was horrible. My own father did not even get up to dance because of the music that the DJ was playing the whole night. I can go on forever about what went wrong with this DJ service. I am extremely disapointed in their service especially what they charge for it. An Ipod play list would of worked a lot better than this DJ. If your looking for a middle school or high school dance DJ this service may work for you BUT I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDED THEM TO ANYONE FOR YOUR WEDDING. I feel embrassed that we have hired this service to entertain my family. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.
