Aimee did a wonderful job for my hairdo & makeup for my recent wedding photo shoot on 5/3/2012 at Monterey Peninsula!

Two days before we meeting each other for the first time on 5/3, Aimee asked me to send her a photo of myself (with/without makeup), the desired hairstyle and makeup, as well as the outfits that I'm planning to wear on the day of photo shoot.

On the day of coverage, I wore a purple strapless dress to her studio which located in Milpitas. She applied the foundation using the airbrush technique which had created a truly flawless look. I was amazed when I saw myself in the mirror!

Based on my previous experiences with other makeup artists, I told Aimee to put more blush on the cheeks because it will fade away quickly throughout the day. I'm so glad that Aimee listened to my need :)

Aimee is also very talented in photography. She takes her own photo for her models. Hence, she knows what makeup will suit you and look good in the pictures!

I had a great and satisfied experience with Aimee for her professionalism and passion towards what she is doing. I would definitely recommend Aimee to my friends who are going to have their civil ceremony this year :D

Aimee is a great person to work with. She's soft-spoken, but she offers great ideas and recommendations for hair and makeup. Her recommendations start before the trial. She teaches you how to take care of your skin and she offers recommendations on what makeup to use regularly too. She is very familiar with Asian skin and does a great job, which was what I was looking for. She's also very responsive towards the style I wanted. At first I was shy with all the colors and Aimee respected that, but when I said I wanted some more color so I didn't look so washed out, Aimee added more color to my look without making me look "over done." It was just the right amount. I love that Aimee can judge what was "just right" for me!
She works with an assistant, but Aimee does all the makeup and my hair. Her assistant helped her with the bridesmaids' hair only. She was fairly efficient. She took ~4hours to complete our looks (4 girls total). She's so easy going and easy to get along with! The results are really worth it!

Aimee Lam is fantastic at what she does! I asked her to do my hair and makeup absolutely loved it. The hair was stunning and my makeup was flawless! It was more than I could have asked for, and I will definitely ask Aimee to do my hair and makeup again for any other formal event. Ladies, you will not be disappointed, she is absolutely amazing!

Aimee Lam is an excellent hair stylist and makeup artist!!! She works with her clients needs to work wonders. You just tell her what you want, and Aimee will be able to create the same look and add her own touch to reflect what bests suits the client's hair-type/face shape, texture, etc! She is especially helpful because she is so easy to get a hold of--through e-mail and phone. In addition, she takes before and after shots of her clients to show them how their look will come out on camera. Aimee is very professional and extremely nice. I had a pleasure working with Aimee and hope to continue using her as my personal makeup-artist/hair stylist and would happily refer her to any of my friends and family.

Aimee was simply AWESOME!!! She was professional, attentive, and I really admired her passion for her work. She was very personable and took time to know your needs/ personalities were accounted for (of course, she will be honest with you). I received tons of compliments on my makeup and hair throughout the whole wedding and was glad that I had selected to work with Aimee. Best of all, my makup lasted throughout the day/night and I didn't need any touch up. It was my pleasure to work with you, Aimee!

She is absolutely the best person to choose from. She did my engagement session and she loves to work with you. She can create whatever style you want. I couldn't of asked for more. Aimee is alert and listens to every movement. She even looks at your facial expression while she does your hair and makeup and see if you as an individual is satisfied. She's awesome.
At the day of my wedding. Everyone was sooooo pleased. I woke up with terrible skin. I was a mess. I went through an emotional roller coaster the day of my wedding and i kept crying while she was working with me. I swear, no one would have been able to do what she did. I looked like i was all relaxed and my skin looked flawless. and let me tell you, my skin was not flawless.
Also, my bridesmaids were all very satisfied. She makes sure all her assistants do as she says. She wants each individual beautiful.
She is so reliable.
She always emails me back ASAP and calls me back right away. I feel like i can trust her with my life. She's amazing.
She even air brushed my fiance and my fiance has terrible skin. The air brushing remained on his skin perfectly all day. It was so nice. One of the best vendors to work with. she didn't give me any stress at all. as a bride, it's pretty stressful. but this vendor is the BEST.

simply perfect. i always knew that aimee is amazing. lets just say.... at the end of day at 2am, my bridesmaids and i still look AWAKE. while we were saying to each other "i'm so freaking tired", i would look at their face and think "wow, great makeup. not a bit smudged or worn-looking".

she did my hair and i was told that my hair looks "done", yet not rigid - more natural-looking. she's great.

i know you may be thinking.... oh dear, she's a little on the expensive side and i can probably find cheaper.

but you know what? your photographer's photoshop can't make your eyes so magical and your blush look so well blended. he/she might be able to get out the eyeliner smudges, but its unlikely that they'll add perfect eyeliner to each photo!!!! your lumpy curls or flat hair cannot be fixed by a photographer.

and by the way, my hair's curls LASTED the whole day, even at 2am the same day. she was done at 11am and our wedding day ended at 2am. that's 14 hours of perfect curls.

splurge on your hair and makeup. your photos will remind you that the money is well spent.

Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful. She's a miracle worker because she found a way to make me so beautiful while making my makeup look natural. Think about it. Make makeup look like you're not wearing makeup and yet look like a model. That takes skill and magic that comes out of Aimee's gentle hands. And, when she puts makeup on you, it feels like wind is kissing your face. haha.

During my makeup trial, she did my hair and makeup and then we took pictures. The picture-taking is a big bonus because you want to see how the camera picks up on the makeup and such. One could be skeptical and say "oh, well someone could easily enhance and alter a digital photo." True, but on my wedding day, my friends were taking photos of me and the bridal party all day long. In every friends' photo, I was simply AMAZED that our makeup and hair never showed signs of wear, even when I changed through FOUR DRESSES during the 14 hours that I had the makeup on and hair intact. My bridesmaids and I were done with makeup and hair (me only on hair) and about 12pm. Yes, even at 2am, my bridesmaids and I have flawless makeup.

Tip: Before you come to your makeup/hair trial appointment, be specific with the style of makeup/hair so Aimee can show her skills. If I was like "whatever you want", its like a needle in a stack to get the style that a client wants. I wanted natural-looking makeup and hair that is controlled (out of the way and out of my face) yet romantic and gentle for photos. and she did it. so, help out your makeup/hair vendor and do research before you visit them.

And, she is easily accessible through email. Personally, I don't like calling vendors. With their job, it seems like they're constantly busy every waking moment with their job and regular life. Any question I had about the weight of my veil to the hairstyle that matches all four dresses throughout my wedding day, this woman responded back with answers and options quickly. I know I'm a really picky person with most things in my life, so I was comforted to know that Aimee's skill and experience would allow me to be stress-free on my wedding day.

As a bride, you are probably wondering, "where should i cut costs in?" My answer: Cut your costs in everything but makeup/hair, photography. The vendors in these two categories vary so much within the same price range that you really don't know where to begin.

Aimee is the best! She did my make up for my engagement photos and for my wedding at the Fairmont in Nob Hill. She did the make up and hair for my entire bridal party. My bridesmaids and I rarely use any make up, and when all our family and friends saw us,...there was a flow of compliments! Aimee knew exactly what I wanted even when I didn't know what I wanted. And when the make up was on...it felt like there was nothing on! But what was even more amazing was that our make-up and hair lasted all day! Aimee was attentive to every detail. As the bride, I felt that Aimee was able to take care of all my needs and every detail. She is also a sweet person and very professional. She came to my bridesmaid's aid and even helped bustle and straighten my dress and perform a 911 on my mother-in-law's make-up (my mother-in-law got her make-up done by someone else and let's just say that thank goodness that Aimee is an angel...the minute she caught a glimpse of my mother-in-law's electric blue eyeliner...she completetly made over my mother-in-law in minutes with no extra charge!). I am so happy with Aimee's work and services, I planning to start taking her make-up and hair classes. (And her work as been featured on Say Yes to the Dress on TLC!!) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

She took some pictures of me after the makeover and she sent them to me the next day.

I am so glad that I was able to have Aimee to do my bridal make-up & hair. I went to three other make-up trials with other artists before but she definitely was the best fit for me and exactly the type of make-up artist I was looking for: organized, patient and technically skilled in their field.

I usually feel like people pile on make-up on my face but she made it very natural but still look good for the photos. I noticed that she thinks very thoroughly for my wedding day. For example, she asked to see my photographers' website so she can see how their lighting technique would affect the make-up. My photographers liked to take bright photos so she made my make-up a little darker and it came out perfect in our wedding photos. She also asked to see a rough timeline so she can stay on time. For the trials, she took her own photos and sent them to me promptly. She was also thoughtful by recommending ways to keep my face fresh before the wedding. These were just a few things she did that really made her a great person to work with.

After my mom saw her trial work on me, she asked me if Aimee was able to do her make-up as well! Aimee did a wonderful job on my mom, me and my husband as well. He was very anti-make-up but it looked so natural and very subtle. He is a fan as well.

On the day of my wedding, she came a little earlier than the start time to set up right away, which I appreciated. She was patient and made me feel comfortable the whole time through. The best thing I liked about Aimee is that I could totally trust her work. I didn't have to worry anything related to my hair or make-up for my wedding day. Other vendors I had to follow-up with or ask my coordinator to check on them.

Overall, Aimee is really sweet and very talented with hair and make-up. Hands down, I recommend her to any bride searching for a make-up artist. Not only is she excellent, you can count on her to make you look beautiful on your big day.

I had a little over a month only to prepare for my wedding. One of the biggest challenge: Makeup & Hair... because you wanna look your best on your BIG day! I'm Asian so I was looking for someone who can accentuate my features without making me look like I have a blackeye or something. After 2 weeks of searching, I came to Aimee's website. I loved her portfolio... and just my luck, she was available on my date. It was one of the best decisions I made for the wedding. I LOVE HER WORK! She is by far the best makeup & hair artist ever!!! She's also so sweet.. and just super super super talented in what she does. Her knowledge in makeup brands is just amazing. Her makeup didn't break or run at all. I couldn't ask for a better look than what Aimee gave me. My friends and family were amazed at how good I looked... thanks to Aimee! She didn't use heavy colors or anything, but instead, she made me look elegant & classy. Until now, my husband always look at our wedding pix and told me I looked sooo pretty. Thanks Aimee! You made my day!

i would say that i am very particular and have very high standards when it comes to make-up. my makeup ended up being perfect. she was able to create a look that was soft and natural in person, but still photographed well. LOVED HER!

It was a pleasure & such a blessing to have Aimee as my makeup artist on my wedding day. She's not only a pro, but also a good friend whose honest in giving some advices in makeup preference & also skin tips. Aimee knows how to do a real natural makeup both in person & photos, without feels of having too much makeup. She has very good attention to details, calm, knows how to handle hectic situation.. she is very kind, even tho she doesnt do nails but she helped me polish my nails in that hectic morning.. How awesome she is!

I love the way she makeup my eyes.. the smokey eyes, its glam, sexy, natural & yet so soft & sweet. And she did my hair, too, its very cute and very suits to my personality; she nailed it!

Aimee was very professional and great to work with. She showed up promptly at 5:30am on the day of my wedding and did an excellent job. Not too overdone look.
