Alafia String Quartet

Alda at Alafia Strings was great! We hired them for a violin duet at the ceremony, and the music truly made the entire ceremony so romantic. Everyone complimented on how beautiful the strings sounded during the ceremony, and they really added to the entire experience. Alda was willing to work with us on all the music, even adding a non-traditional recessional song! I would definitely recommend Alafia Strings to anyone!

We hired a violin duo to play at our outside garden ceremony. The musicians were professional and timely. The music was absolutely beautiful and the sound was perfect! We received several compliments on how beautiful the strings were during the ceremony. One of my most treasured memories from our wedding was walking out of the ceremony as husband and wife to the Beatles’ “All You Need is Love.” The duo also played Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” which was a favorite of my husband’s ninety-year old grandmother who was unable to make the trip.

Alda of Alafia String Quartet was incredibly responsive to emails, and was a delight to work with. Before we selected Alafia, my husband and I were able to listen to sound samples from the strings online and after we booked, Alda sent us a complimentary CD with many more samples! I loaded them on my iPod and was able to listen to the song selections on my commute, which made the selection process so easy!! Alda had great suggestions as to which songs would work best together, and worked with me to create a playlist that combined both classical and modern works. We were very pleased. Thanks...

I hired Alafia for my cocktail hour musicians and even though I didn't personally get to hear them, without asking people told me what a great job they did during cocktail hour. I hired a violin duo for the hour and they played a mix of contemporary and classical music that everyone, young and older, loved. My only regret is that I didn't get to hear them myself (we were with the photographer during cocktail hour). Also, I'm glad that they were a gift because I probably wouldn't have shelled out the $375 for the hour for them, but again, everyone really enjoyed the musicians.

They were so amazing and made the ceremony extra special. They were able to play fun and unique songs like Journey and the Beatles, which was exactly what we wanted. Alda was great to work with!

we had a string trio for our June 26th wedding and absolutely loved the result. The music selections were beautiful and well rehearsed. We even had the band learn "Happy Together" by the Turtles for our recessional and it was a hit--they sounded great!! I would highly recommend to anyone who dreams of having strings played at their wedding.

They were extremely wonderful to work with! I used a trio for my wedding ceremony. The manager was very helpful and walked me through any questions I had. They sent a CD to sample some music as well once I booked them (which was very helpful). I also loved their blog... it helped me make even more choices by seeing what other brides had picked. I absolutely loved them! We used the string trio and they played our cocktail hour and ceremony. They played all sorts of music that was very entertaining- my guests loved them! They played music from Twilight (because they knew I was a Twilight fan!), Rolling Stones for my dad, and even U2 for my husband!! I wanted a vitamin quartet sound and they totally did that with the trio! I totally recommend Alda and Alafia Quartet!

From my very first email with Alda, the Alafia String Quartet were delightful to work with! We hired a string trio for the ceremony and the cocktail hour. The music was beautiful, several of my guests commented on it! My best friend was singing a song in the ceremony and Alda was very helpful in coordinating with me to accompany her at no extra charge. I highly recommend them!

They are amazing musicians, definitly worth what you pay for. Their prices are set in stone though, so not very accomodating as far as working within a budget. But, they are very professional and wonderful musicians!

Alafia String Quartet was once of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding to make it complete! We did not have a DJ, we went with the ipod thing, so it just made sense to spend the money on having at least a string quartet with our ceremony. We also booked Alafia for the cocktail hour and it was such a huge hit with our guests! They were timely, helpful, and extremely nice! I loved that they have such a huge variety of songs to choose from to be able to make it your own and customize your ceremony music! Alda and the other musicians were excellent and you will not be disappointed!

Alafia played for both my ceremony and cocktail hour. The music was beautiful. It was really important to me to have a unique wedding that didnt include me walking down the aisle to the typical "here comes the bride" instead I walked down to the theme song from the movie Amelie and during cocktail hour they played the beatles, rolling stones and show tunes. My guests loved the classic string quartet with a hip music selection! I definitely recommend Alafia string quartet!

I hired the string trio for two hours; an hour for the wedding and an hour for cocktail hour. My guests loved their songs and they played everything I wanted! No problems, came early and were professionally dressed. Loved them!
