A very angry bride and many others out there in your area and around the country!!
I had been looking to find a wedding gown. I had found heard that there were great stores in New York that had carried beautiful wedding gowns so I thought it was worth a trip down there to get something very special!! And that special store was thought to be Le Bella Couture Atelier of Dobs Ferry . I had called the owner Michelle M Mears and she convinced me to come to her store with her kind act she had assured me that no one else had carried what she had in her store and she said that she was a designer, all of her dresses were custom made.
I travelled and spent allot of money to come down to her store to meet her . I went to the store and found a dress that I loved. She had informed me that it was her own design and it was a one of a kind.At first when I got there I was surprised that the store was SO UGLY and trashy it looked like a consignment store but she assured me she had just ''moved in there'' Undoubtedly I believed her because the price was pretty hefty. She had told me that she needed 2500 now and 2400 later when the dress was finished . This was on May 08. After her letting me know that the dress would not be available the next day because of high demand. I was nervous about not being able to get it and went ahead and had paid the deposit with my Master card. Everything seemed very normal we filled out some papers and did some measurements too .I made her sign the contract stating my dress would be done in 14 weeks and then the deal was done I left thinking I was happy and was going to receive a dress.Michelle made me give her the deposit right there on the spot before I left , signed some papers and then left.
I got on the plane feeling a little nervous but O.K and left the town.
Michelle reassured me that she had clients from California that she had BI weekly meeting so I thought it would be fine. She even talked to my fiance on the phone and convinced him. She was such a great liar that he went along with it also.
I am a Canadian and obliviously she thought I was a complete idiot and she thought she would never have to see me again and she cold pull the scam off. Duh it only cost 10 bucks and 1 hour to come to New York!!!
Since the visit I had E mailed her numerous times and I had called everyday. I also left many messages on her phone. I tried calling her because I was wondering why she was not calling me for the other deposit of 2500. So after trying to call her again I started getting worried, After I did a little online research with the Better Business Bureau and found hat she had 12 disputes I didn’t know if that was normal so I checked out other bridal stores and they had 0 complaints. Then I looked at another website that had reviews and found to least 30 horror stories about people being scammed. After all the research and to make matters worse I found that she had lied and the dress she had ordered that she said was her’’ own creation ‘’was actually from a company that had made the dresses Michelle had ripped the tags out of my dress and had claimed that is was a one of a kind. I found out the dress only cost 1000 and she is trying to charge me 5000.
Another disturbing fact is that I also found out that Michelle had moved location and packed up and left changed names and didn't bother to call to let me know she had moved?
I frantically searched all over the net for her and finally found her new Website and store location now called Alexia Bridal Couture Atelier in Yonkers. She had not even called me and let me know that she had moved.
Michelle had promised bi- weekly meetings on the phone.
She still has not called me. So when finally got a hold of her by calling her appointment line with a private number, a woman picked up and I started crying. The woman said that Michelle and the others do not work there anymore and she does not deal with them. She said the bad reviews were other bridal stores writing blogs and none of them were true and that they were jealous.
So she said she would find my order and call me back. I hung up and didn’t really believe the story so I called back and asked for Michelle in a different voice and to no surprise the ‘’ worker’’ said oh one minute!!! I had caught her in a lie!!! Michelle is still the owner and no one took them over. I started crying to Michelle because I was feeling scammed. She hung up on me and I proceeded to call back several hundred times until the worker picked up and she said Michelle ran out of the store. My dress was to be done in October and I still have not received any phone calls or E mails.
After realizing I had been scammed of my deposit of 2500 I said to myself she was not worth the trouble and was willing to loose the 2500 she knew the scam because she did not call me in 125 days according to mastercard if you do not dispute within 125 days you cannot get your money back!!!!! I was very upset but we decided it was not worth our sanity!!!
Shockingly I0 days later I was surprised to find that Michelle M. Mears had STOLEN my Master Card number and unlawfully charged $4000.00 USD without permission or cause.
Michelle had just crossed the line now and had committed credit card FRAUD! Now we are disputing the case with MasterCard and I am in the process of pressing charges against her also getting a very expensive lawyer!!. This is very said because this woman has preyed on countless venerable women. Also this is not just Michelle it is also the workers because they are in on the scam too!!!
In all of this so far I have lost 7000 due to this fraud. The woman’s name is Michelle M Mears but she also goes by the name Lena or Lee. She pretends that Michelle ‘’herself’’ does not work there anymore...
I have a very disturbing website for you to check out to see all the unlucky ladies such as myself. I just want the public to know about her and to protect themselves from such a terrible person, thief and scam artist.
I have sent my story to many newspapers and TV news around the country and the area until she is stopped. And some people are already E mailing me back about my story!!
We need our voices to be heard!!!
How she is still in business baffles me????
Anyone that can help with the case please contact me ASAP
Here is a website that everyone needs to complain to get anything action done for your complaints!!!

Angry Bride

Michelle has moved and changed the name of the store again. Now its -My Belle Boutique and its on Yonkers Ave. How can she keep getting away with being a scam artist.

I'm just here to reiterate what every comment before mine said!
ATTENTION ALL BRIDES!!!!!!
STAY CLEAR OF LA BELLA COUTURE ATELIER AKA ALEXA BRIDAL COUTURE ATELIER. OWNER NAME: MICHELLE MEARS (if you can ever find her in the store).
She treats customers, employees, peers, higher ups with no respect what-so-ever. I've heard complaints about her from many other women. Went around with my friend for her wedding and none of the vendors had anything good to say about her...from the florist to the limo service. Nothing nice was ever said about MICHELLE MEARS (AS I KNEW HER).
And I rated one star just cause you have to rate. I'd actually go for none.
Just be forewarned ladies. If you choose to get your dress from her, then you choose to maybe being without a dress on your wedding day. Don't let her get to you. She'll make everything sound like it's your fault. She fakes illnesses and gets irate for no reason making herself appear like a lunatic. SHE'S A LOSER!!!!!! She doesn't sell one of a kind dresses. I know for a fact that she's even try to sell a gown that was used to model at bridal shows. A reliable, close friend relayed this information to me. Heed my warning ladies!!!!! A David's Bridal dress can make your day just as happy....POSSIBLY EVEN HAPPIER than having to be scammed by such a despicable person.

Michelle always owned the store. She has written almost all the good reviews on this site. She moved her travelling scam to Yonkers Ave and calls it something like My Boutique. This is the third time she has moved. She tries to stay ahead of the people that she rips off. She is never in one location long enough to put up a sign.
Ladies, if you want a dress go somewhere else. I am suing her for my deposit. I never received my dress. Davids Bridal was able to get me a dress in time for my wedding. It was not the dress I wanted, but it was better than nothing.
She refused to take my calls. The children that work in the store are untrained.
Stay away

I contracted with a bridal shop called Le Bella in Dobbs Ferry. They closed and I never got my dress. My father is a retired NYC detective. His old partner opened an agency. Here is what he found. Michelle Mears the owner of Le Bella opened a new store in Yonkers called Alexa Bridal. She runs scams and uses different aliases. She calls herself Lena, Lina, Lee, Mary Michelina, or Michelle. Mears is her maiden name. Garriola is her married name. She sometimes uses Gabriola too. She lives in Yonkers and the apartment lease is under the name Mary Mears. I have her address but I won't post it. You can find it. Check out:
http://www.reunion.com/people-search-directory/L3/129117
I passed by the stor and she was inside. You can serve your subpenas to the store. She had to sign a lease.

The fact is that many whom made allegations against Michele L Mears Garriola were deposed by her lawyer, this Kevin Duffy in Connecticut and my friend was suppeona for this story that was about Michelle Mears , and many people and companies, including media are now being sued for slander, libel and character assignation. My friend was frustrated and admitted to jumping in this riot, just to get out of dress contract. The story is that another bride made this whole story and that it was a vendetta by the same bride whom worked at the Bronx Reporter, and channel 2 and other family in the media. This same bride made a blog to contact all these people and got the senator involved as when, before he was a senator represented this bride in a lawsuit for personal injury, my friend is a paralegal and her boss and firm found this out. Many think she will get tens of thousands of dollars if not millions for this mess. Project Wedding and other media websites are also being pursued for this mess as well, as a forum to post, A A man named Chris has been contacted and refuses to cooperate in this mess and also will be held personally liable for damages.

was in the store on 7/24 when Michelle the owner read some of these reviews and she started ranting about the reviews. She was telling one of the other girls to make up a good review. She was totally unprofessional. I didn't know this site existed until that day. Kate 777 review was a complete fabrication. I since cancelled my order and will lose my deposit. It is a small price to make sure I have what I want on my wedding day.
Michelle has called me 10 times a day. She is threatening to take me to court and even threated to show up on my wedding day. I am filing a police report.
On my previous visits i was also treated poorly. My mother was called "cheap" and my fiancee was belittled. Stay far away from this shop.
By the way I found a beautiful dress at RK Bridal and the staff treated me with respect.
**UPDATE**
Michelle called me this morning and threatened to sue me for slander (sic). She is a desperate woman. I do not know how this boiler room operation stays open. I have reported her to the Federal Trade Commission for ripping the labels out of dresses. It is illegal. Here is the weblink. Paste it in your browers and file a complaint. https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
Update 2
I receved this email from a supporter:
Hi Lisa,
Its a good thing that you cancelled your order. I bought an eve of milady from Le Bella and Michelle actually tried to give me a used, damaged, smelly dress when I went to pick it up. The reason why you heard her ranting and raving about this website is because I mentioned to her that I read over 20 terrible reviews about her on here that same day. And she took my story and fabricated it that very same day. Good luck with your dress.
**Update** 8/6
Here is one of the emails I received from Michelle:
You are a troll, you obviously have nothing better to do than to talk about me
thank you for the article
as you will be harrassed
the site contacted me and gave me your ip address
so I will own your home
your finance it stunned at how sick you are
This crazy lady has moved her rag shop to a new location and a new name:
Alexa Bridal and Rag Shop

It is amazing that Michelle would claim there is no affiliation. It shows you what kind of business they were involved in. They are trying to hide from their past scams. If you stop by the store you will see her there. Ther are many other real bridal shops that deserve your business. Davids bridal is about two miles north. Don't take a chance.

I am throughly horrified!!! You know the saying "Hell hath no furry like a woman scorned"? Well that will be a picnic in the park on a sunny day compared to me right now. I was suppose to get married almost 2 years ago and was forced to cancel my wedding at the last minute because I found out my fiance was sleeping with my maid of honor. So I pretty much as irate as I think I will ever be because everything was almost completely paid for like my wedding dress which I purchased from Le Belle Couture Atelier in Dobbs Ferry. But I went in and saw Michelle and cried my eyes out and she was so comforting and told me it was ok that she would store the dress for me so it didn't changed color and this believe it or not weddings get called off all the time and she is used to this and she will help me through it all. So I believed her since I had no reason not too. I go in and visit at every so often and update any contact information that might have changed and just check it. Well I went a few weeks ago and the store was cleared out and gone. I call my friend who went to look at dresses there and she said she went back in March and it was empty. So I go online today to try and find information and find nothing but horrible reviews but them I find one saying that Alexa Bridal is her new place. So I call and very calmy explain my situation and the girl says that they have no affliation with the other store but that when they went out of business that Alexa Bridal took some of the stuff from Le Belle. She then took down my information and said she would find out what she could and get back to me. I tried calling back a few times after that to ask a question and no one answered the phone after that. Well they have done pissed off the wrong person. You want to try and scam people that don't live here, good luck with that, I heard prison is lovely this time of year. But me? I live locally and I am a mean and spiteful b!tch!!!! I mean come on... I know there are a ton of scams out there but really? Screwing with a bride when it comes to her wedding dress? Are you people insane? We are stressed out and on the verge of being commited to begin with, why would anyone in their right mind want to mess with us? And why would anyone want to ruin a bride's wedding day for them? I just don't understand what is wrong with people these days. How hard is it to pick up a phone and call a customer and say hey, we moved, and we have a new name! Not that hard! Especially when it is to a customer that adored you! Sucks for them, I would have given them 5 stars all the way till I read all of these reviews and realized Michelle actually uses the same BS lines, word for word, on us all! Now she better pray I don't sue her for everything she is worth!!!!
One last thing they said they have nothing to do with Le Belle and never have. Well then why is it when I go on websites that list Le Belle as a vender and I click the link to their website it sends me to Alexa Bridal? Ugh I HATE LIARS!!!

Alexa Bridal Couture is a scam store - don't go there! I have never been so humiliated by a store in my life, they have the worst customer service and the experience there nearly ruined my wedding. I got married this past August and originally went there last January. I liked a dress there and thought the price was right, so I stupidly signed a contract. I never found out the designer and heard from other customers that the owner rips all the labels out so you can't look at the dresses anywhere else. The owner Michelle Mears says that all the dresses are her "custom design," which is a complete lie because I later saw my EXACT SAME "custom designed" dress in a bridal magazine. When I came in for my fitting, the store was a mess and all of the girls there had no idea what was going on, or where my gown was. The girls were nice and tried to help but couldn't do anything but Michelle kept screaming at them. I saw another bride crying that her wedding was coming up IN A WEEK and had no dress! Michelle just ignored her and her whole family, this poor girl and her sister were crying hysterically, it was awful.
I started to get worried and I definitely had reason to, when my dress was finally brought out, it was the same sample I had tried on! One of the straps was broken and it was stained on the hem and on the skirt part of the dress. Michelle insisted it was new. I read the other reviews on this site and the same thing happened to another poor bride. Michelle promised to order another dress for me, all the while saying that the first dress was "new" when it obviously wasn't.
Every time I called after that to find out if the new dress was in I was either put on hold indefinitely or hung up on. The one time I got Michelle on the phone she said that the dress was being shipped but couldn't tell me when it would be in. She then told me I was "harrassing" her for asking about when my dress would be in! Mind you, this was just two months before my wedding! Michelle was rude, obnoxious and unprofessional. I have seen her scream at her employees, ignore customers, and scream at customers. I cannot believe she owns a business. Seriously, this store almost ruined my wedding. I finally bought a backup dress at David's Bridal where they treated me with respect, sympathy, and got everything done quickly and professionally. This store is a joke. The last time I was there (for a "fitting" that never happened), another bride told me that Michelle had called the police on a girl for asking for her money back when her wedding dress still hadn't come in. How is this place in business? It's a total scam!
Please, ladies, DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! There are so many more wedding dress stores that deserve your business.
