Alexa Bridal Couture
Reviews for Alexa Bridal Couture
was in the store on 7/24 when Michelle the owner read some of these reviews and she started ranting about the reviews. She was telling one of the other girls to make up a good review. She was totally unprofessional. I didn't know this site existed until that day. Kate 777 review was a complete fabrication. I since cancelled my order and will lose my deposit. It is a small price to make sure I have what I want on my wedding day.
Michelle has called me 10 times a day. She is threatening to take me to court and even threated to show up on my wedding day. I am filing a police report.
On my previous visits i was also treated poorly. My mother was called "cheap" and my fiancee was belittled. Stay far away from this shop.
By the way I found a beautiful dress at RK Bridal and the staff treated me with respect.
**UPDATE**
Michelle called me this morning and threatened to sue me for slander (sic). She is a desperate woman. I do not know how this boiler room operation stays open. I have reported her to the Federal Trade Commission for ripping the labels out of dresses. It is illegal. Here is the weblink. Paste it in your browers and file a complaint. https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
Update 2
I receved this email from a supporter:
Hi Lisa,
Its a good thing that you cancelled your order. I bought an eve of milady from Le Bella and Michelle actually tried to give me a used, damaged, smelly dress when I went to pick it up. The reason why you heard her ranting and raving about this website is because I mentioned to her that I read over 20 terrible reviews about her on here that same day. And she took my story and fabricated it that very same day. Good luck with your dress.
**Update** 8/6
Here is one of the emails I received from Michelle:
You are a troll, you obviously have nothing better to do than to talk about me
thank you for the article
as you will be harrassed
the site contacted me and gave me your ip address
so I will own your home
your finance it stunned at how sick you are
This crazy lady has moved her rag shop to a new location and a new name:
Alexa Bridal and Rag Shop
1900 Central Avenue
Yonkers NY 10710
Stay away
It is amazing that Michelle would claim there is no affiliation. It shows you what kind of business they were involved in. They are trying to hide from their past scams. If you stop by the store you will see her there. Ther are many other real bridal shops that deserve your business. Davids bridal is about two miles north. Don't take a chance.

Since Michelle Mears moved her business to Yonkers and now calls it "Alexa Bridal Couture", let me share my experience with her when the store was called Le Bella Couture (YES they are one and the same, she had to move because word was spreading quickly about her fly-by-night business model.)
I wish I could give this bridal shop ZERO stars! I have never been so humiliated by a store in my life, they have the worst customer service and the experience there nearly ruined my wedding. I got married this past August and originally went there in January 2007. I liked a dress there and thought the price was right, so I stupidly signed a contract. I never found out the designer and heard from other customers that the owner rips all the labels out so you can't look at the dresses anywhere else. The owner Michelle Mears says that all the dresses are her "custom design," which is a complete lie because I later saw my EXACT SAME "custom designed" dress in a bridal magazine. When I came in for my fitting, the store was a mess and all of the girls there had no idea what was going on, or where my gown was. The girls were nice and tried to help but couldn't do anything but Michelle kept screaming at them. I saw another bride crying that her wedding was coming up IN A WEEK and had no dress! Michelle just ignored her and her whole family, this poor girl and her sister were crying hysterically, it was awful.
I started to get worried and I definitely had reason to, when my dress was finally brought out, it was the same sample I had tried on! One of the straps was broken and it was stained on the hem and on the skirt part of the dress. Michelle insisted it was new. I read the other reviews on this site and the same thing happened to another poor bride. Michelle promised to order another dress for me, all the while saying that the first dress was "new" when it obviously wasn't.
Every time I called after that to find out if the new dress was in I was either put on hold indefinitely or hung up on. The one time I got Michelle on the phone she said that the dress was being shipped but couldn't tell me when it would be in. She then told me I was "harrassing" her for asking about when my dress would be in! Mind you, this was just two months before my wedding! Michelle was rude, obnoxious and unprofessional. I have seen her scream at her employees, ignore customers, and scream at customers. I cannot believe she owns a business. I checked the Better Business Bureau website and she already has 8 complaints for the past 12 months. Seriously, this store almost ruined my wedding. I finally bought a backup dress at David's Bridal where they treated me with respect, sympathy, and got everything done quickly and professionally. This sotre is a joke. The last time I was there (for a "fitting" that never happened), another bride told me that Michelle had called the police on a girl for asking for her money back when her wedding dress still hadn't come in. How is this place still open? It's a total scam!
Please, ladies, DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! There are so many more wedding dress stores that deserve your business.
Also, don't believe that nonsense about her tracking you down by your IP address. You can't be sued for telling the truth, and she could never do that legally any way. Also, I later found out that Michelle kept trying to call her lawyer to send letters and pretend to sue girls who dared to complain about their experiences, but since she has no credit and no money and never paid him, he kept sending bills and she ignored them, so he dropped her.... even the police in town know her business is a joke, they get called on her twice a week because she's a criminal.
I called Alexa Bridal a several weeks ago to see if they had a dress I wanted to see. They said they didn't, but they would order it and have it there for my appointment on Nov 14th. I emailed the owner one week ahead of time to confirm that the dress would be there and she responded, "yes." So, I flew my sister from Kansas City to NYC and grabbed my bridesmaids and we headed up to Alexa Bridal. First of all, two young girls (teenagers?) were running the place and were completely clueless as to what was going on. Second, there was a woman who walked in just before I did and she didn't have an appointment (and I did) and they immediately started helping her get into dresses while ignoring me (the one with the appt!) I had to interrupt and tell her I had an appointment and I told them about the dress that was supposed to be there for me to try on. They knew nothing about it and didn't seem to care about my dilemma. I asked if they didn't have a system for situations like this, like requested dresses being set aside for the brides. They said "no." I asked them if they could call the person who said she'd have the dress in, or the manager. When they did, the manager said she had a meeting and didn't call me back for two hours! When she finally did call back, she said the dress had come in on Tuesday and was confused as to why the girls couldn't find it. They searched everywhere and there WAS NO DRESS! I was so upset at their inability to live up to what they'd promised, their lack of responsiveness when it was obvious there was a problem, and the laxidasical attitude of the careless teenagers running the shop. One girl tried to blame it on move from Dobbs Ferry and renovations, but it was clear that no one knew what was going on. Now, my sister is going back to KC and won't get to see me in the gown that may be my wedding dress. I actually went to David's Bridal today and, believe it or not, had an experience that was one thousand times better!
