Long before we selected colors, venue, band, dj, etc...there was Alfred Salom Photography. We weren't sure how the wedding would turn out, but we we gonna make sure that the pictures were awesome. And they were! This husband and wife team were so great to work with and their creativity is evident in the pictures. If you are on the fence about hiring a photographer or just using your cousin, then this vendor is not for you. If you are insistent that your wedding is captured by seasoned professionals that you know will give your eyes a feast of visual magic, then Alfred Salom Photography is for you. Friends of ours worked with Alfred and Emma, and once we saw their engagement slideshow, we loved it so much that gave the Saloms a call! We had barely started looking for photographers for our wedding, but despite our utter lack of research, we were not disappointed at all. Our friends and families adored the pictures as well; my mom has our slideshow as a bookmark on her browser toolbar :) From day one, the Saloms were fun and relaxed and their pictures are really top-notch. They are very professional photographers, well worth every penny. We especially love the slideshows they created for us (engagement and wedding) - their creative skills truly shine.
If you are in the market for some fantastic photographers, look no further! We could not have been happier with the Saloms and their phenomenal work :) If we're still living in the Bay Area whenever life's next photographic event comes along, we'll definitely book with Alfred and Emma again.

First off, if you are looking for a photographer for ANYTHING, your search stops here! I would recomend Alfred Salom Photography to anyone!!We used them for our November wedding (and our engagement session). Now, let me tell you- the whole wedding planning process was fun to me, and I looked forward to every minute if it. BUT, I was scared to death about finding the right photographer for us. Pictures were very important to my then fiance and I, and we didn't have a whole lot of room in our budget to spend on a photographer that had the style and expertise that we wanted- we THOUGHT. That was, until we met Alfred and Emma! From the first communication to set up an appointment, Emma (Alfred's wife) responded ASAP (within a half hour I believe!?). When we met them, we felt relaxed and at ease. That's important since beign the subject of a photography session can make one feel pretty vulnerable! We were amazed with the photos we were shown and impressed with their story. Their style was exactly what we wanted and for such an affordable cost. As we left the first meeting while walking to our car, we looked at eachother and both said at the same time - "Let's book them!". We felt like we hit the photog jackpot! The experience we had with Alfred as our photographer was awesome- he is so creative and he seems to adapt to every setting, coming up with unique poses and capturing color, light, and most important- emotion. My husband and I still look at our proofs every day since the wedding and I can remember with each picture what I was feeling and thinking at that exact moment. Our day was captured on film in the most beautiful way!

I was nervous about hiring a photographer, I had a TIGHT budget, especially since my grandfather was paying for is as our gift, and he's old school.."I'll bring a disposible camera" type of guy. So, I did a TON of reasearch and got a recommendation for a bride on the knot. I took a look at Al's portfolio. They were still kinda new to the photography scene, portfolio wasn't extensive since Al was a second shooter and wasn't allowed to keep his images. But, I knew I wanted to book on the spot. I waited patiently though and talked to my fiance and grandfather on the way home, by the time get got to the house, I was calling Emma (Al's wife). I blog stalk Al's work weekley, and everytime we look at the site, we're very happy we hired and LUCKILY found them!Emma handles the business side of the Photography's business...and I LOVE HER! But she already knows that =) She responds soo quickly and thoroughly..and I do bug her a lot.My only regret is not getting an engagement session done =( We had gotten one for free and I wish we had hired Al and Emma and done the second shoot cuz I know it would have been way better than the one we had.

Hiring Alfred and Emma for our City Hall wedding ceremony and bridal shoot was a "gamble" from the start, albeit a good one. We booked them without any referral and paid the deposit even though we have not met up with them to view their portfolio or maybe talk to get to know their creative direction as my fiance and I are not based in San Francisco. But it was a good bet that we took.
Alfred and Emma are a husband and wife team that portrays professionalism right from the start. They arrived early, ahead of the scheduled time, for the wedding ceremony at City Hall. Being punctual on an assignment is really crucial as it just shows how professional you are. I perfectly know that as my make up artist was late for 20 mins in the morning prior to the wedding ceremony.
I can also observed that they are experienced in photoshoots as Emma told me to email her a list of the group photos names of my relatives and friends. She will then have the names downloaded into her phone and calls out the names of the people to take group shots with us in an orderly manner. That really saves a lot of time and we are able to proceed with our outdoor shoots without any delay.
We have 5 locations to fit into a 4 hours schedule of bridal shoot. Nevertheless, we didn't want the photos to turn out slip-shod work. Alfred and Emma are really gracious people that didn't even charge us extra when the bridal shoot overshot by 45 mins. And they are charging by the hour. We are really touched that they are committed to their photography job that they don't mind exceeding 45 mins to take great wedding pictures. When the time was up, they didn't even stop and ask us whether we wanted to extend by another hour. They just kept shooting and of course, we tip them after the shoot.
I was also grateful that Alfred and Emma tried their best to fulfill my wish of taking pictures at Nob hill because of a symmetrical angle that I like, even though the time is running out. Never once have they mentioned that they are going to charge us extra if we go beyond the stipulated time.
Alfred and Emma are also efficient people that will get your pictures and enlargement done on time and they will even email teasers on the night of the wedding. In summary, if you want to get a reliable and professional photographer who are flexible in acceding your request and not calculative about charging you extra for anything, Alfred & Emma are the ones you should appoint as your wedding photographer. They are highly recommended and are worth every single cent that you have paid to hire them. Oh and did I mention that their services are affordable too? You will be rest assured that you are in good hands...

I wish more stars were available because this vendor deserves 10 stars!!!
Finding Alfred & Emma of Alfred Salom Photography was truly a blessing! They were the first vendor that I booked & worked with so they gave me hope that the whole wedding process was going to be just fine. They're uber talented and always put their clients first. Each photo is cleverly and artistically edited but the kicker.... they don't spend months doing it like other photographers do.
I have had the pleasure of working with them at 4 events in the last year -- engagement session with Alfred in Downtown San Jose, boudoir session with Emma @ Cypress Hotel in Cupertino, Reception at Kalesa Restaurant in Milpitas and our Wedding @ The Ranch Golf club with both of them. At each event, they were on location before the designated time, very professional and got along with all of our guests and made them all be a part of the event. Our pro-pics were received literally 1-2 weeks after the event and we were very satisfied with the results.
My husband til this day raves about the boudoir album that Emma lavishly designed and we literally can't stop drooling over our wedding album! Every person we've shown it to is just in awe of its quality and uniqueness.
As we reach more milestones in life, we will definitely contact Alfred Salom Photography to capture more of those special moments for us.

It had been a long journey for me to find a professional photographer whose works weren't snap-shotty, tacky or unnatural for my wedding on Jan. 09 until I finally found Alfred and his team.He truly captured a moment beautifully and turned it into a work of art with some introspective qualities and stories attached. At the end, I couldn't help ordering separate prints besides albums for my family and friends who have given me so many compliments. I placed some of the photos in frames and I'm just so happy to look at them.Highly recommended!!

I can't put it in words how much the pictures Alfred shot mean to us. I have never worked with a photographer before and did not know what to exspect. I set up a meeting with Alfred and Emma to meet and decide if I wanted to hire them and from the moment I sat down with them I knew they were the one. There is something about Alfred that makes you so confortable and it shows in his pictures. During the whole process they both we so proffessional and down to earth. He shot our wedding and he actually went out to the wedding sight about a month before to check it out which was something I just thought was remarkable. He really cares about his clients and I just let him roll with it. I hate people taking pictures of me and was dreading to see myself and this was something important I should have shared with them. Alfred made me feel so comfortable and beautiful in front of the camera I totally forgot I hate taking pictures. What he did was capture our personality on film and was also able to capture the love, romance and joy in a picture and that is something I can hold in my hand and treasure the rest of my life....

I don't really know how to thank you guys for what a great job you did. Saying that they're "awesome" or "great" just doesn't seem to do the photos justice.
You and Al captured so many different moods in your photos from the day, from nervousness, to excitement, to joy, to silliness---all in a beautiful artistic style which was exactly what we were looking for.
We've already received a ton of comments from friends and family on the teaser pics.... lots of "these look like they should be in a magazine", and "When are the rest going to be ready???"
But pictures aside, everyone we talked to kept commenting on how great our photographers were before even seeing the photos. You guys managed to blend in when the time was right (some shots I swear you must have been wearing invisible camouflage because I had no idea you were there), but also be kind and
personable and put a smile on our guests faces when stealth wasn't necessary.
When we were driving home the following day, Kelly said, "I'm going to miss Al and Emma." You both were a pleasure to work with from the initial consult all the way to the final few minutes of your service on the wedding day.
"Thank You" also doesn't seem to cut it....but thank you taking perfect photos on what turned out to be a perfect day for us.
Emma is genuine, organized, straight to the point, honest, and provides suggestions for unexpected/unplanned situations. Al is funny, easy going, creative, and possesses an honest work ethic. These two don't just "take shots" they take the real shots. I was worried that Al would take only a certain fixed number of shots, but during our E-session, he wanted to take more. That in itself, is proof of the work ethic of this husband and wife team.
My husband and I are so happy that they were there for us. The Saloms were an integral part of our engagement and wedding day. They guided us, they tipped us regarding food in the limo, they accommodated us, they assured us, they made us comfortable, they invited us to their house, they took care of us in every sense (sorta like how a brother or sister would take care of their own). In our book, they deserve accolades.
I don't have to write a novel about how great these two are, the wedding pictures and slideshow are a true testament of their hardwork, artistry, and their ability to capture the most precious moments.
I had the pleasure of working with Emma & Alfred on a wedding last year. They were so easy to work with and they're great photographers too! What more could I ask for?
