Alice Millar Chapel
Reviews for Alice Millar Chapel

We chose Alice Millar for its beauty, connection to Northwestern (where we met) and open-mindedness (non-denominational). You need to have an affiliation with the University to get married here, and if you do, then I highly recommend it! The chapel is beautiful and makes for stunning pictures. Mary Kelly, the department assistant/coordinator was pleasant, professional and flexible (we kept changing the time for our rehearsal) throughout planning. Rev/Dr. Tim Stevens married us, and he was fantastic - we enjoyed all of our preparatory meetings with him and got a lot of compliments on his style and demeanor following the rehearsal and ceremony. To echo other reviews, the price is very reasonable as well - much more affordable than the big churches downtown. For music, we did a string quartet - Russel Rolen - that was referred to us via the church. It was delightful.

If you've never been inside this chapel, you're missing out. Beautiful and awe-inspiring. Wedding guests are still talking about it!! Mary Kelly, the chapel's coordinator, is wonderfully sweet and helpful with scheuling, questions, recommendations -- anything you need!! Margaret Wilson, the music coordinator and organist, is incredibly talented and also wonderful at helping you pick out music, organize timing, hire additional musicians (she hired a very talented trumpeter, Matt Lee, for us)! We would not have wanted to be married anywhere else, and I could not speak more highly of the Alice Millar staff!

We were able to use Millar because of my husband's affiliation to Northwestern University. It is a beautiful chapel and really cheap! They don't allow flower arrangements except the one in the front which really cut down the cost for us! (and you really don't need any other arrangements). The only hard part was that we were having the unity candle as part of our ceremony and during the rehearsal we were really confused as to how to light the candle because there was no one on hand from the university right there to show us where to get the lighters. But it all worked out at the end.

What a gorgeous venue for a wedding. The stained glass behind the altar, high cielings, organ, and location were perfect for a Interfaith wedding. The were very accomodating for the musisicians we provided as well. The courtyard area made for beautiful outdoor pictures with our family.
