I have been teaching ballroom dance lessons since 2003. Shortly after I started teaching I decided to go back to graduate school and through many life changes (I was married and had a child) I gave up teaching for the time being. In 2005 several of my friends were getting married and so I began teaching them for fun and choreographing their routines. Many suggested I start teaching privately and even posted a review on another wedding website. So many emails flooded my mail box in the first few days that I thought I would give it a shot! So my business began in 2005 in the basement of my parent's home and other people's homes (I used to travel to the client's location if that's what they preferred). Because of the convenience of it, I decided not to go back to the studio and have continued to teach from home.

I know that for many brides the idea of dance lessons is a thrill and for grooms it's torture. I try to make the experience as enjoyable for the groom as watching ESPN... or aspire to. :) Most of my clients have said that the groom ends up enjoying it more than the bride! If your fiance is timid, I try to build their self confidence so that they end up enjoying it rather than feeling like they're being forced to dance. I'm hoping that after the wedding they will be more willing to take you out dancing as a newlywed couple!

The dances that I teach are the waltz, rumba, salsa, swing, chacha, mambo, tango and meringue. Lessons are in 45 minute sessions for $50/couple and are taught in Inverness, Illinois (close to Palatine).
