Alohana Weddings

Having to plan a wedding from across the ocean can be extremely stressful. I had searched many websites in an attempt to find the right person to make our dreams come to light. Most websites were all about the photography, or minister. Not much in choices, and not about us. I contacted Alohana Weddings because I wanted to be married at the Hanalei Bay Resort in Princeville. I could not be happier! Diana Gardner was a pleasure to work with. Immediately after signing our contract she forwarded a huge list of choices with websites to choose from for photographers, officiants & musicians. We were able to find the perfect photographer that met our style and the officiant that best fit our ceremony needs. Within a few days all the vendors were booked. Diana even helped locate and book a local musician that was not on her list that we had enjoyed several years earlier while visiting a restaurant in Hanalei. Diana also helped plan our wedding reception and found us the quaintest little restaurant in Hanalei (Postcards Cafe) to buy-out for the evening. All fees were discussed and Diana was able to maximize our budget. The vendors that Diana hired were so professional. The ceremony site and reception were decorated so beautifully. The arch, bouquets and flower arrangements were amazing. Diana listened to my vision and all I can say is that she totally exceeded my expectations! It was the most beautiful wedding I'd ever seen. All of our guest agreed! I would not change one thing! I would refer Diana Gardner to anyone!

The best decision that I made for our wedding was to hire Diana Gardner of Alohana Weddings. I live in Oregon, and when we decided to get married on Kauai, I knew I would need help. Alohana Weddings stood out from other wedding planners immediately, because of the level of knowledge and professionalism that Diana has. Over the course of a year, Diana helped me plan our wedding. She was very helpful and friendly. Once we got to Kauai, Diana helped me with my appointments. She guided us through our rehearsal with ease and confidence (which helped me relax!). The day of the wedding went so smoothly, and it was all because of Alohana Weddings making sure everything was just right. I got to enjoy every moment of the ceremony and reception, and didn't have to worry about a THING. Every penny we paid to Diana was worth it. If we could do it again we would do it the exact same way. I would highly recommend Alohana Weddings!

Diana is knowledgeable, organized and attentive to detail. She exemplifies the true "Aloha Spirit". Her calm demeanor is a real plus. The vendors that work with her are top notch. From the beginning, she made planning our event a truly wonderful experience. She was prompt in answering e-mails, easy to talk with and always positive. The end result was a beautiful wedding - it was truly magical!

Overall they day turned out to be a good experience, however if you want prompt responsive returns to your emails and phone messages (and i'm talking within the week or so) then you will be disappointed with waiting up to a month sometimes for returns in a call or email. Granted Diana was always nice and upbeat with any situation, but the wait can be daunting. Additionally, some packages say you get a keepsake koa wood frame, but you do not receive this. My bridesmaids commented that their bouquets were turning brown. We had also asked for a thick carpet of flowers and were disappointed to see a very thin display. Hair and makeup was supposed to be covered in the package however we ended up paying the salon directly. Overall, we did not receive a few things we asked for, but it could have been much worse. She is a nice lady and a delight to work with when you can reach her, just hope that you catch her when she has time for you, otherwise your in for a stressful ride.

Diana made planning a wedding so easy. I would highly recommend her to anybody. It is a bit scary planning a wedding from so faraway when you feel like to some extent it's out of your hands.... but with Diana you will be in the best hands! She is great at sending links for different photographers, musicians, ministers, everything! She makes everything so simple and stress-free. She was never overbearing but always on top of it. She is familiar with the vendors, the area, and knows all the right people already so it makes it so you don't have to go searching. She is honest about what she does/does not recommend but completely lets YOU decide how YOU want it. Everything turned out just the way I wanted it to on our special day.

At first I had a lot of apprehension about using a wedding coordinator from so far away (I'm in Seattle), but working with Diana was great. She allayed any fears that we had, and was promptly in contact with us about changes we wanted. She made all the arrangements for us-marriage license, salon, etc. All we had to do was show up! Our wedding was so beautiful and we couldn't have been happier. I would recommend Diana if you want to have a stress free wedding!

I found Diana's site easily and was instantly attracted to the perfect packages, both price and what they offered. From beginning till end Diana was amazing to work with and she genuinely had her heart vested in our special day. Living on the mainland, I had complete faith our Kauai wedding was going to turn out immaculate in Diana's hands. Many of my friends commented on how "non-Bridezilla" I was considering it was a destination wedding. Why would I be, I knew every detail was being taken care of, which left me little time to stress. My wedding day was beautiful and I wouldn't have chosen anyone different as a wedding planner. Diana Gardner has the best vendors and she gives you a list to choose from in each category. You will never feel like you don't have options and you will indeed have a variety to decide between. I actually found a photographer in Kauai whose work I loved prior to finding Diana. When it came time to choose my photographer from a list Diana provided me, to my surprise that photographer was on it and of course the pictures turned out breathtaking! My best advice is to choose Alohana Weddings and you'll be in the best wedding hands of the island. Stop looking, you found your wedding planner, it's Diana Gardner!

All around wonderful service and experience provided by Alohana Weddings. We did the Pikake Wedding Package at the Beach House on Kauai. I would highly reccommend Alohana Weddings!!
