As the lead wedding planner at Weddings by Kennedy, it takes a dedicated and creative team to make every event we do a success. I’ve done everything from weddings to social and corporate events, asking the best and most talented of Austin to work alongside us to pull-off fabulous events. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Christian and his musical genius for the past two years.

I chose Altared Weddings for my DJ. I was given Christian as my wedding DJ. Christian was absolutely amazing. He is not like most DJs you will run in to while planning your big day. He doesn't just plug his computer in and play music off itunes. I mean I could do that! :) He actually mixes music and ensures your music flows flawlessly. I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. He not only ensured music transition was effortless, he also coordinated everything from getting my bridal party together to walk in, to the toast, dances and more! Altared Weddings did a phenomenal job with our wedding. They were responsible for an engagement video, DJ, lightening and the videographer. They were extremely easy to work with and very attentive to all our questions. I would recommend Ryan and his crew to anyone who needs the services! We have not seen the final wedding video but if it is anything like the engagement video, we will be very happy!

David, our Altared Weddings DJ, was responsive and friendly in communication before the event. When the big day rolled around the ceremony music and sound went off without a hitch. Music was played during dinner and when it was time for the dancing, David was spot on. Playing music from the songs I suggested, getting tunes on to get the crowd dancing, and as the reception thinned from family to close friends (the younger crowd) he judged the mood and we danced until the very end. Two out of town guests said they wanted to hit a dance club while in town but after our wedding, they decided not to--knowing they had just attended the best dance club in town. *Don't worry if you don't want that much grooving at your event--we requested and wanted that vibe.*

I own an event space and plan to hire David and Altared Weddings again, for parties, and definitely plan to refer other brides to their services.

Our wedding day DJ was Christian with Altared Weddings. Christian went above and beyond to make our music just right for our big day. I received a phone call the week of our wedding to just go over some of my music preferences. Christian was very easy to talk to and I felt very comfortable knowing that he was going to be in charge of our music.

On our big day I was not let down, Christian was an amazing DJ and he had such a great upbeat attitude. I was confident the whole night that he was playing the perfect music for our wide variety of guests. Christian was very talented at finding the mood of the majority of people and then playing the perfect tunes to get them going. He also got people dancing that I didn't know would ever dance!

Having Christian be our DJ was one of the best decisions I made. He is the perfect DJ. We received many compliments on how great our DJ was.

Ladies and gents, don't waste your time or money looking for some pre-teen with an iPod... if music and party time is a priority, do not hesitate to call Ryan, set a meeting, and book them. It's worth a restructuring of budgetary funds if you want a real DJ who provides the backdrop of the best night of your life....

"Satisfied", "Five Stars", "Amazing" just don't cut it when it comes to describing the videos we received from Altared Weddings. I'm just in awe. I've had SO many comments that their love story that they created for us was the most touching, captivating five minutes that really captured everything about the day so perfectly. It really felt like a trailer to the best love story. And I'm SURE they'll do the same for you. If you're wondering whether or not getting a videographer is worth it - I can tell you that Altared Weddings was more than worth it. And they're so professional, I barely noticed them at the reception! Beyond happy with their work, their team. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend.

A very good experience all the way around. My daughter's wedding was in an outside location where there was no electricity, but with their quiet generator, they were able to get sound to the wedding for music as well as the Officiate. They were more than accommodating and we were very pleased. And the dance music at the reception was also awesome! It was a better party because of their service!

On November 5, 2011, I married the love of my life at Old Glory Ranch and our wedding was awesome! Let me begin with stating that I was the most lazy, unorganized bride during the entire planning process but I had a lot of energy around three things: the food, the booze, and the music. Ryan of Altared Weddings was a great find after many hours of researching. When we met with Ryan during our first meeting it was obvious that he totally got the vibe we wanted for our big day. He was a total pro keeping the party going till the wee hours of the night. The guests were out of their seats dancing and having a great time which was our ultimate goal. I would highly recommend Ryan of Altared Weddings for any occasion.

RYAN was PERFECTION!!! All of the details that go into a wedding can get pretty daunting...the DJ portion of my wedding was my LEAST traumatizing. I had a few select songs that I wanted for first dance, etc. then I had picked a few for certain friends to be played during the dance. The rest was mostly left up to Ryan and his own professional opinion based on the sampling of music likes and dislikes that he had from me.

The dance was STELLAR!! Everyone danced the WHOLE night and a bride could not ASK for a better DJ!!! All my guests raved about how great he was and about how FUN the dance was.

I TOTALLY recommend Ryan and his team for any of your functions; you will NOT be disappointed and he will take a huge burden off of your plate if you do not have the time to pick every single song.

I was very happy I hired Altared for videography services at my wedding. The interaction I had with Ryan and Tyler before the wedding, the services provided by Tyler on the day of, the final product of the Highlight Film, and the professional packaging of their product were all top notch. The Altared staff were incredibly friendly and easy to work with. While at the wedding, Tyler did a miraculous job of blending into the crowd, yet still capturing every important moment of the night. The highlight film was perfect! It was fun to watch, captured our emotions throughout the night, and received rave reviews from all of our family and friends who watched it.

Tommy was our DJ for our wedding -- AWESOME! Everyone came up to me during the night and said the music was really good. Even after the wedding, we received raving comments about the music and Tommy. He has club experience which was a quality we liked about him. We wanted it to be a big dance party and it definitely was. People who normally don't dance, were on the dance floor. He knew what the crowd liked and went with the flow of the night. I was worried that we would have to supply him with all the songs - I didn't have the time for that. We gave him the genres we liked and he put together a great song after another throughout the night. He knows his music! Thanks Tommy!!

Ryan and his team were amazing to work with. Although the video won’t be here for a couple of months, it was awesome to work with them. The lighting was amazing in the venue. It really brought it to life, and we couldn’t stop dancing in the Gobo. Highly recommend them for lighting, as they made the cake look so beautiful. They were extremely nice and very helpful during the wedding. Based off of just working with them, we give them A+ for being prompt, accommodating, patient and willing to please. We love working with Ryan and the DJ's review is not a reflection on his company what so ever, but we had to be honest.

Christian-- the DJ--- This review is hard, because we love Altared Weddings and Ryan the owner. Originally we booked Ryan to be the DJ, and he called 2 weeks out asking if Chris could be substituted in. I agreed because Chris had really awesome reviews on Weddingwire. We told Chris that we wanted to recreate the dancehall theme of where we met. We wanted primarily new country, with some top 40 dance songs every now and then. What we got was a bunch of old country, with some old top 40 in there. They had a song questionnaire that I spent months working on, and every song I asked to be played during the dancing, was played during dinner. I was really disappointed with that. Also, Chris played my last song, in the middle of the reception, and I was beyond done at that point. He did get our ceremony, 1st song, and songs with our parents right, so that is why we are giving Chris better grade than failing. I just wish he had done what we asked, because no one really enjoyed the music. Christian apologized at the end of the night for playing the last song, but you can’t get memories back… I appreciated his professionalism and had he really understood what we wanted, I think he would have been awesome.

My husband and I were very privileged to have Christian DJ for our ceremony and reception, and we must say that we had an amazing experience! Christian was very much in contact with me before our wedding day, helping us organize our music selections and figure out the time line for the day. He was very flexible and very much at ease, which in turn helped me feel much better about our big day! We have nothing but good things to say about Christian and Altared Weddings! We HIGHLY recommend them!

Ryan was the DJ at our wedding this summer! He was awesome! He was very flexible when our wedding schedule got off a bit! He worked well with our wedding planner and was on top of the play list. I would highly recommend Altared Weddings! They helped to make our wedding day great!

I'm thrilled with my decision to go with Altared Weddings. Had 80 ppl at my wedding in Fredericksburg and many people danced that I didn't even think WOULD dance at my wedding...great music selections and very professional. nothing cheesy. They have a wonderful online tool that you are able to add songs and modify as you are doing your wedding planning. This was a great way to communicate exactly what you wanted and what you didn't want, ryan had it all down on paper and read from it all night, i notice those things. I'm still receiving compliments about our wedding entertainment. The rates are very reasonable for the quality level, i have planned entertainment for several charity functions in the past. I'm very glad that we invested in quality entertainment for our wedding.

Christian was great. He played the perfect mix of our music tastes--90's r&b, 80's pop, texas country and current hits. He transitioned the different genres of music perfectly. He was a great emcee and was on top of our timeline all night.

Definetly the best part of my entire wedding... they totally captured all the details and stuff i missed in the rush of the night...i just got my video back and it's absolutely amazing!! an absolute MUST!! love these guys!

We just recently got married and had Jeremy for our Dj. He was extremely easy to work with and his professionalism was outstanding. Absolutely could not have done a Better job. He showed up very early and had everything prepped and ready before the evening started. My bride and I have very different tastes in music. I'm more country and western and she is more of the classical/oldies type. Jeremy not only found songs we enjoyed but also created a playlist that had both of our tastes of music. He exceeded our expectations an kept the night exciting. He even had games for the crowd to play and also fun games for me and my bride, over all I would definitely recommend Jeremy for your next special occasion. Very polite, very professional, an evening we will never forget.

Ryan and his entire team at Altared did a fantastic job! We did a lot of shopping for these services and Altared became our clear choice because of how personable and professional they were. Their follow up from start to finish was great and they truly took time to make sure every detail was perfect.

These guys were great!! And our DJ, Jeremy, was awesome. He traveled a long way to meet with us before our wedding, and the day of. He helped me out by burning a CD of the Ceremony music, and overnighted it to us so we would have it for our rehearsal. He then did a great job, with excellent equipment, during both the Ceremony and the Reception. A very good value for the money.

Christian did an amazing job of feeling the party out and keeping people dancing. We thought we knew how it would turn out, but our older guests ended up doing a bunch of dancing so he played music to keep them interested and then transitioned to younger stuff later in the night.

Best compliment: People danced the whole time, even though about half the wedding was outside, and we really had guessed wrong on the music our guests would enjoy most. The dinner music was exactly what we had picked out and was perfect.

This was one of our biggest wedding expenses and well worth it! They provided our DJ, videographer and did all of our lighting. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone!!!

What I most appreciated about Altared Wedding was their ability to find some somewhat obscure songs I wanted played at the ceremony. Additionally, the chapel was very small and I feared the DJ would stick out and mess with the intimate atmosphere. But Ryan was not noticeable at all. After the ceremony I asked family if he was even there. I heard the music clearly but had no clue where it came from. Ryan was also very flexible as the evening schedule needed tweaking.

We had the pleasure of working with Altared Weddings as our DJ and worked with Christian. Christian was great to work with. He was flexible in meeting with us prior to the wedding and was very knowledgable in music. I felt very comfortable allowing him to take the lead. He did not do any cheesy DJ stuff and was simply there for the music and announcements. We also had the pleasure of working with Ryan who was very professional and cares very much about his business. He is careful to match each bride and groom up with the best DJ that he can. I loved the questionnaire and the easy access to an online account for payments.

Ryan was a fabulous fit for our wedding reception! He seemed to have the same sense of humor we did. Everything flowed so well and the night could not have been any better! Given an outline with approximate times for the night, Ryan made sure we were ready for everything like the announcement of our arrival, the first dance, the bouquet/garter toss, etc. I filled out the online sheet about 2 days before the wedding and (given that that was not much time) everything was spectacular. He is very quick to respond to emails which makes getting in contact extremely easy.

Great DJ. Played whatever we wanted and stood out in the cold for us. It was freezing.

We used Ryan & Altared for our November 2010 wedding after researching numerous DJs. Music was very important, as our family and friends love to dance, but we wanted to avoid the "corniness" that we had seen at other weddings. Ryan has an energetic, fun personality, but as others have noted, he was all business when it comes to execution on the "day of" for your events, as well as the final product. Working long distance, we were able to create the song list (with multiple last minute requests), arrange for a slideshow, lighting, etc.; yet kept it all within our budget at a very reasonable cost. We actually only met him in person for the first time the week of the wedding! Then, we presented perhaps the greatest challenge he's ever had - the groom was hospitalized and missed the entire dinner and reception. Ryan had to quickly reengineer the song and our pre-scheduled plans, but he didn't miss a beat (no pun intended.) He had an excellent sense for the vibe in the crowd and never once played a song that jarred with the mood. We had dozens of guests tell us afterward that he was the best DJ they'd ever had at a wedding.

We interviewed a lot of DJs. So I am relieved to report that we chose the right one. I’m so happy that we chose Christian. He did what we wanted, played what we wanted/when, and also brought his real-life DJ skills to the wedding. He wasn’t just a wedding DJ, he’s a real DJ. Plus, his laid back personality fit right in with our wedding style. I would definitely recommend him.

Altared Weddings Productions was AMAZING every step of the way. We used their DJ service and their video service and they were great. From making plans with them from the first day we picked them to the day of the wedding... They were awesome and VERY easy to work with. It is obvious how passoniate they are about what they do. I would recommend to anyone!

I can't say enough great things about the guys from Altared Weddings! Tommy was our dj and we had a blast getting to know him and picking the music with him. Since we were from out of town, they were all really accomodating to meet when I was in town planning and the week leading up to the wedding. Ryan and Will came with another assitant for the videography as well. We love the work we've seen of theirs and can't wait to see what they are putting together for us. They were so nice and really wanted to make sure the evening went as we wanted. We even added the ceremony music less than a week before the wedding and they made it work without a problem. Our wedding was mostly family but these guys blended right in! Can't wait to see the videos!

Ryan was our reception DJ and we are very much impressed with his service. He is professional and quick to respond to any calls or emails. We supplied Ryan with a list of songs we wanted played and told him to add in any additional songs he wanted; he added songs that fit in very well with our song list. All of our specific songs (first dance, cake cutting, etc) were the songs we requested. He stayed on top of our timeline which kept the afternoon flowing smoothly. Highly recommended to everyone!

Oh my Gosh! I was a 49 year old bride and really just wanted the fun captured on film for my kids and grandkids but what I got was the most fantastic film that captured our wonderfully special day! Ryan and Will were all over everything for me and I just let them run the show. I had too many other things to worry about and the result was FABULOUS! I would recommend them to anyone who wants to capture special moments on film and photos! Love these guys!!!

Ryan Guthrie was one of the easiest things about our wedding, which is worth gold on your wedding day! I really cannot say enough about him. He was super accomodating, even when we had to make some last minute location changes for his set up. He spoke the right amount, interacted with crowd the right amount, and played the music we had on our list. He had nearly everything we requested, and the one or two he didn't have, he got for us :). There really isn't a better choice when it comes to a DJ. He was absolutely wonderful!

DJ, Ryan Guthrie, had all the equipment necessary for our event and had it all set up prior to the ceremony and reception which was no small feat as we used several locations at our venue, Star Hill Ranch. He kept the activities flowing all night from announcing the wedding party at the reception to guiding guests outside to see the new bride & groom off. We provided a general idea of the type music we wanted and he did not disappoint. A true professional and super nice guy!

Ryan was everything we could have asked for in a DJ. Being in the event field we know how hard it can be to make sure everything goes smoothly and as planned. Ryan managed everything on our agenda exactly as we had wished.

I completely trusted them and they did a GREAT job picking out music for the different parts of the evening (cocktail/appetizer portion, dinner, dance music). We used Altared Weddings for both our videographer and DJ.
We met Ryan and Will when they came to do our save the date video before our wedding. They are great guys and so much fun to work with. Our friends were excited to "be stars" with us as they filmed us doing a potluck dinner night. The video turned out really cute and all of our guests were able to see it on our website before the big day.
For our wedding, Will came with two assistants. They were so professional, I didn't notice them filming!
Christian was our DJ and he did a awesome job of playing all of the songs we requested.

We hired Altared Weddings to handle the music for our wedding ceremony and to DJ our reception. Having been to plenty of weddings with cheesy DJ's, we were a bit nervous about hiring a DJ for our own wedding, but Altared Weddings was great. The one thing that we really liked from the start, was that Christian, our DJ, didn't just play a set playlist like a lot of wedding DJ's we've heard. Like a true professional, he mixed all of the songs and really took notice to what people were dancing to and made his next selection based off that. There were a few small mess ups, like when he played the wrong song for cake cutting - even after we had listed everything out in their online application, but at least he chose a good song to play instead. All in all, if you're looking to hire a DJ, don't hesitate to hire Altared Weddings, they are true professionals and we'd use them again.

Ryan & Altared Weddings are the best out there. Whenever I have a wedding or an event, they are the first ones I call upon. The fact that they are great at what they do is one thing.
