DJ GREGG was EXCELLENT. He was in constant contact with myself and my Fiance (now husband). He met with us twice (drove to us) and was always available by email.
The online media manager to organize playlists made it so easy. I could search for songs and then add them to my playlist. Once finalized i could send it to him for review. It was great!

Our DJ, Brian Dzbenski and Ian, his helper were fantastic. They kept everything flowing smoothly from the start of the ceremony to the last dance. They were professional, flexible and personable - all the things you want in a DJ. And Brian played a great mix of disco/oldies/new dance, incorporating all the songs on our play list as well. We highly recommend getting the photo booth - your guests get their pictures right there, and you also get a copy. It was so much fun! We initially met with Gregg (the owner) and Brian and instantly felt comfortable with them. They are not pushy at all with any of their packages. They told us all that they offer and let us decide what fit our needs and budget. They were worth EVERY penny!!! Thank you Gregg and Brian!!!!

AFFORDABLE PERFECTION

We picked Ambient DJ Service to provide music during our outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (they also provided us with lighting). From the start, Gregg Hollman's professionalism, communication/responsiveness, and attention to detail were incomparable. The pricing, customized service, and worry free planning was amazing. This is not some DJ service where they have random DJs on call and will overcharge you just because it's a wedding. When talking to people who used other DJ services, they were amazed to hear about our experience with Ambient DJ.

One of the main concerns many people have (us included) is the DJ’s ability to keep the diverse crowd moving and entertained. With Gregg H. mixing and Greg L. (aka DJ Greg Nice) MC-ing, our dance floor was alive till the very end. The overall execution and music selection was on point throughout the entire event. Greg Nice did a great job letting things flow naturally and only provided a little extra “hype” when needed. He was not overbearing and he never put on “a show”
(which is what you may see or hear about at other weddings). They did exactly what we asked, and they definitely superseded all our expectations for a great DJ service.

We hired Ambient DJ to provide music and a video show at our wedding reception. Chris, our DJ, was very responsive to our music preferences, and provided great input when we met with him a few weeks prior to the event. When the day came he was prepared for anything - including the flooding that affected our reception hall, forcing him to move all of his equipment to the other side of the hall. Chris handled with this unexpected event with aplomb and everyone was out on the floor and dancing again within minutes. He played music that a varied audience - ages, races, and music preferences - all enjoyed and mentioned for weeks after the wedding. We would recommend Ambient DJ to anyone.

Gregg did an excellent job at our wedding as the DJ & MC. If you're looking for high quality service that is affordable, then go with Ambient DJ. Music was the hardest part of the planning process but Gregg definitely pulled it all together at the wedding. He got the group up and on the dance floor; even my 90-year-old Aunt did a little dance!! Things got quite crazy within the last 12-24 hours before the wedding but Gregg was really flexible with my updates and requests. Very happy with Ambient DJ, Gregg and Brian were awesome! From the beginning, they were well prepared, professional, and accommodating when helping us plan our wedding. They listened to our every request and were flexible in all aspects. They rocked our reception with great music that totally matched our musical style. Everyone had such a great time, the dance floor was packed and the night was topped off by a couple of encore songs (as requested by guests) at the end of the reception! DJ Gary G made our son's wedding a fun fun time for our family and friends.
The bride and groom didn't give him much help on song choices, and simply asked that the guests sing and dance all night. And we did! So many of our guests said that it was the best wedding they had been to, because the music was great and we did not sit down all night. There was a great mix of oldies and contemporary music, and my only regret is it ended all too soon!The Slovaks family members loved it too.

Gregg was phenomenal! We knew from the start of our wedding planning that the reception music was going to be the most important and difficult part to pull off. We had a very mixed crowd with the Bride's Puerto Rican family hoping for Salsa and Merenque, the Groom's family mostly African American and fans of Motown oldies, plus younger friends looking for hip-hop and pop dance music.

Gregg totally nailed it, he found a way to make everyone happy creating a magical mix of Celia Cruz, Elvis Crespo, Micheal Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire, Pitbull and Baltimore Club hits. People were up and dancing before the salads had been served and the dance floor totally packed before the cake was cut.

Gregg totally listened to what we wanted and met with us twice to make sure he knew what our vision for the night was. He listened to our requests and also made great suggestions when we were out of ideas (ex. he recommended Sean Kingston's 'Fire Burning' to play as the very last song during our sparkler exit, it was a great touch). He wasn't at all cheesy and did a great job as MC. He had just the right energy and kept the night going smoothly announcing group photos and the other key events.

All the guest raved about what a fabulous dance party the reception turned out to be, we couldn't have asked for anything better and would recommend Gregg and Ambient DJ to anyone with out hesitation!

Gregg of Ambient DJ did a fantastic job. Our wedding and reception was at the family farm out in the New Jersey countryside. Gregg was the only DJ willing to drive the distance out there to meet us and do an initial survey of the site (without even a signed contract!). This shows unparalleled dedication and a level of service that is not often found these days. In addition, Gregg's prices were unbeatable by any other DJ service we spoke with. Most other DJ's gave us a base price and then were very quick to nickel and dime us for every little thing. However, Gregg gave us an up front price that included everything. No one could beat it.

On the day of, Gregg arrived on time (well in advance of our event) and looked very classic and polished in a tuxedo. We had unique introductions for each member of the wedding party (with dedicated music for each person), and Gregg handled the narrative and music exactly as we requested. For the actual reception, he didn't talk on the mic more than he had to, but he did well at keeping the party going. He coordinated with our wedding planner to be flexible and adaptable as the schedule changed on the day of. Our party went an hour later than expected, and he had a lot to do with that. By reading the crowd and keeping everyone on the dance floor, nobody wanted the night to end! It was high energy and everyone had a great time!

Gregg is a true professional at what he does. He is thorough, pays attention to the details (just check out his DJ planner worksheet!) and will do everything he can to make your event a spectacular success. We are very grateful for the work he did for our wedding.

I worked with Gregg from Ambient; he was professional and made me feel like this wasn't something he was taking lightly. The music makes the night! People remember two things...the food and the music/DJ. If either one is bad, well...it's not good.

Gregg came to meet Nick and I before the wedding since we were having a bit of an unusual setting and we weren't sure where we were having the dance floor. He took time out of his weekend to come to the house and help us scope out the situation. He offered several suggestions, but basically said, ?Whatever you want, I?ll work with you and make it happen?. He listened to our concerns about music being too loud (we had cranky neighbors to deal with), what music we didn?t want to hear, etc. He took notes, made sure he had captured all our needs and confirmed everything back to us in writing.

The day of the wedding was great. He played just about everything on my play list, and when I missed a favorite song because we were taking pics, he played it again and made sure everyone was dancing! There was a nice mix of slow and fast songs, and we had a blast. He didn?t talk too much or too little, didn?t pass out leis (we didn?t want them, but he can do all that stuff if you want him to), didn?t bother the audience. He had us laughing and dancing all night.

I would strongly recommend this service over so many others that I have seen at weddings. If you want corny, he?ll go corny. If you want him to say nothing, he?ll say nothing! Very accommodating. It was a pleasure to work with Greg. He did a fantastic job, and he kept the wedding going the whole day. I will recommend him to everybody that wants to have a hell of a soundtrack. Chris (DJ Spinz) DJ'ed our wedding in August 2009. He did an extraordinary job. We weren't planning on him provide music for the ceremony, but due to some technical difficulties 30 minutes before the wedding (UGH), he jumped to our rescue. He totally saved the day. Ambient DJ Service was great to work with-they listened, were highly organized and responsive to our needs. My husband and I have quite eclectic taste (alternative/electronic to hip hop to latin to soul) in music and they were able to play all of what we wanted to hear on on special day. Chris did a great job also keeping us on schedule throughout the day as well. Ambiet DJs provide quite a bang for their buck. If you are looking for DJs who are professional, fun and flexible...Ambient DJs are for you.

We had our wedding in August 2009. Gregg was very professional since the very beggining. He came ahead of time and kept the crowd on the dance floor!
He managed to play a lot of songs from my coutry, Chile, in the mix too.

I hired them for our May 2009 wedding through a business connection and my husband -- who's a musician himself, didn't want the kind of djs that scream and get all cheesy -- like you see at countless wedding expos. these guys were fantastic! they came up w/great selections and happily played all the "must haves" we wanted during our reception. they were super energetic but no where near 'over the top.' everyone danced their butts off and we have the pics to prove it, from the 97 year old grandma to the 18 year old college student. i highly recommend Ambient DJs. their prices are extremely reasonable, too!

Gregg was truely an excellent DJ and created the perfect atmosphere throughout the various stages of our wedding. We decided to go with Gregg without hearing him first but based on his knowledge of music and quality of equipment he truely helped make the wedding reception memorable. He has a great knowledge of all styles of music. I am very picky with music and a bit of an indie rock / electronic music snob while my wife loves sinatra and middle eastern music. Gregg met with us prior to the wedding and talked through the various options while listening to our suggestions as well. It was actually a lot of fun planning out the themes and potential songs with him and then letting him make the final suggestions based on the mood and crowd on the wedding day. We were looking for someone that was classy and professional while also able to read the crowd and play the right music to get them dancing at the right times and Gregg did that perfectly. He also did a great job for the cocktail hour with more mellow music mixing classics, indie and electonica. He did a great middle eastern set (my wife is Egyptian) for just the right amount of songs to bring people to the dance floor and threw in some Irish songs here and there for me. I would highly recommend Ambient DJ and Gregg.

Gregg first DJ at my dad's 70th birthday party and he was great. Then my cousin used him for his wedding and I got married in September and called him right away. Chris was our DJ and was amazing. I had a slightly complicated wedding reception involving some non-English speakers, a reception hall that had a separation between the dance floor and the dining area, and a fiancée who requested a slightly unusual centerpiece giveaway-type game. In addition, because I was living out of state until a month before the wedding, I left much of the planning until the last moment when I was in town.
Fortunately, I stumbled upon Gregg with Ambient DJ Service. He went out of his way to accommodate all my requests, including coming up with a game that everyone loved and even finding some traditional Russian music that delighted the Russian guests. He was also very helpful during the planning process, offering suggestions for how to improve everything from the order of events to musical selections. I literally could not imagine my wedding reception having gone any better and Gregg was definitely a large part of the reason I feel it went so well. Gregg was fantastic! My main concern was price because costs can escalate quickly when planning a wedding. He offered me one of the lowest prices I could find in the New York area. Initially, my fiance was concerned that that would mean we were sacrificing quality, but that wasn't the case at all! All my guests raved about how great he was. He stuck to our playlist, wasn't too intrusive, and was perfect with his announcements, even down to pronouncing all our family members' names correctly! Throughout the planning period, he always responded promptly and thoroughly. He was completely professional and took the time to go over every detail of the reception with me. I was extremely pleased with his services and would recommend him to anyone who's looking for a great value!

Gregg was fantastic to work with! He was our most professional vendor, and an incredible value for the services rendered. We acquired his basic package (but had our wedding in the offseason, so he graciously included his uplighting package), and as he kept upgrading his equipment, we simply asked for some of those items (and he provided them free of charge!), and he was always willing to go above and beyond to see your needs met, and that you were satisfied. Example: We custom-choreographed a song for him to play for our first danced loosely based on a few youtube videos, and he was able to edit it for us to match our song! We also had a few friends who helped us organize the reception as well as play some music using their own equipment, and Gregg was always a pleasure to work with for them as well. Gregg from Ambient DJ was a huge hit at my wedding last October. I wanted a low-key reception with some specific songs on the playlist. Gregg was receptive to all of my requests and kept everything feeling just as I had envisioned.

Gregg is awesome. He was very responsive to me and my husband's requests and professional at all times. The music was a crucial part of our wedding and we wanted to make sure that it was representative of who we were. Gregg was willing to work with us, to meet with us on several occasions, and to ensure that our vision was fulfilled. It was the most amazing party -- our guests STILL talk about how much fun they had, and we are very thankful that Gregg was our DJ.

Gregg from Ambient was a great DJ. We couldn't oficially sit down and meet with him because of our busy schedules, so we did phone meetings. Gregg was there for suggestions and paid attention to the songs that I requested. As the night went on the dance floor got less crowded but that might be associated with the fact that people were full and it was a Sunday reception and guests had to work the following day. Otherwise for the price that we paid, Gregg did the job that we hired him for!

Gregg is a great person. We hired him because we did not want an 'in your face' kind of DJ. And he delivers exactly that! Overall we were very satisfied. He got in the blues/jazz we requested during our dinner hour and did a great job with the ceremony music. We did not make it to the cocktail hour, so I can't speak for the music during that portion of the event, but i'm sure it was equally as professional. There were a few 'hiccups' during the reception.. but other than that, we were happy. I learned from this experience that it is very important to give specific playlist suggestions. We had gone over a lot of music and I thought he had a good handle on our choices/selection. I was a little mortified to hear Shania Twain's I Feel Like Woman and Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond -- because they are so not songs I would have approved of...but i didn't want to be a bridezilla and tell him to pull it mid song just because a few people were enjoying it. so i let it be. I thought we really emphasized the focus on 50s rock, 60s soul, and 80s and punk and modern music that would have kept more people dancing. But overall everyone seemed to have a good time.. and that is what is important. Gregg's services are a great value for the price-- definitely check his company out.

Our DJ was the only vendor that we booked directly because of weddingwire.com. Gregg contacted us and even though he lives super far away, he made the 2 hour trek into Manhattan to meet with my husband and I (twice!). Gregg stands out for 3 reasons: (1) PRICE. I really challenge you to find a professional DJ that comes at a lower price. (2) PROFESSIONALISM. Gregg responded immediately to every e-mail and phone call. At each meeting we were able to outline to Gregg what we wanted and he was able to set it up accordingly. He even accepts credit card! (3) Equipment. His set-up is awesome! He also has a really wonderful website where you can sample songs and pick what you'd like.

I would definitely recommend Gregg to other brides. However, after recommending him, I would also strongly suggest that you give him a specific playlist. Gregg really carried out every instruction we gave him to a tee, and the ceremony was great! but at the end of the night when we gave him free reign for the dance portion, we didn't feel like our guests responded to the songs that he chose (my husband and I didn't recognize a few of them as well).

In conclusion, if you are on a budget, but would still like a professional DJ who will work with you tirelessly and treat you wonderfully, I'd suggest Gregg! However, if dancing is VERY important to you then you might want to spend a little more and find a dj that is also into the same type of music as you.

Overall DJ Mike was easy to work with and helpful. He was professional and reliable and we did hear our music requests and then some. The feedback we received from our guests was phenomenal. All had a great time and it was largely due to DJ Mike's flexibility during the event.

We worked with Chris and he was great. He was very accomodating of our requests and everything worked out great. He handled our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception (in 3 separate rooms at one location). All parts of the day were terrific and we were very happy to have gotten them for our wedding.

We hired Gregg initially because he seemed to really know what he was doing. We didn't want a crazy over the top DJ, and he definitely wasn't that at all, which was really great. He and his MC were really unobtrusive on our wedding day, which we appreciated. We only have two complaints: first, during our first dance, neither was paying attention when we desperately tried to get their attention to cut the song short, and unfortunately ended up having to drag our bridal party out on the dance floor unexpectedly because we had to ride the rest of the song out.

Second, despite the fact that the crowd wasn't reacting well at all and no one was dancing, they continued to play nothing but Latin music. It may have just been a miscommunication, but we had wanted that kind of music only during the dinner hour, but it played well into the night until I realized (I was so busy greeting guests I didn't realize no one was dancing) and I asked him to please play more American music. He responded well and instantly made the switch, and then the dance floor was filled for the rest of the night. I only wish he had made that realization himself, without me having to say anything.

Probably one of the most energetic DJ's I know. We worked together at a wedding in the spring of '09, they kept everybody on the dance floor the entire night! Made from some amazing photographs. Highly recommended!

How much do I love Greg? Let me count the ways. He is clearly a consummate pro: deceptively laid back, on top of every detail and creative in his musical suggestions for each part of the ceremony and reception. He is truly a partner who is as enthusiastic about your wedding plans as you are.

Gregg from DJ Ambient is by far the most professional DJ I’ve ever come across. We had the pleasure of working with him at a wedding in Point Pleasant New Jersey, and were VERY impressed. He showed up in a suit, was courteous and helpful, had the right amount of enthusiasm, and did a fantastic job with keeping the party going. I loved that his music was versatile to match the crowd and he seamlessly connected one song to the next—this just goes to show his talent! At one point he even joined in on the photo booth fun (with a yellow boa and his headphones) and left a nice video message for the bride and groom. We will highly recommend him to all of our clients going forward and will be happy to use him for our own personal parties!!

Not only did he play great music all night but he made sure that all the events of the day went perfectly. My team and I had plenty of notice before all of the important events, as a photographer this was invaluable to me. Gregg's professionalism is truly unmatched and his style is great, not the typical overbearing and in your face DJ, but he still had everyone out on the dance floor.
