I bought my dress at the very first Bridal shop I tried dresses on at and it was by accident. A year and a half before my wedding (we had a 2 year engagement), my mom, niece and I went to Amelishan to just try on some dresses see what I might like. I'm not sure how long we were in the store, but that also included finding my mom 2 dresses that day. The sales consultant was very helpful, she showed us the layout of the store and what dresses we could find in the different areas. She picked a few dresses that she thought I would like based on my description and we were able to take our time and pick out dresses as well. I don't remember how many dresses I tried on, but it was the very last dress I put on...that was the one. I purchased the dress that day, thanks to the extra incentive of 10% off if I purchase the dress on my first visit. It was nice that Amelishan stored my dress for me until a couple weeks before my wedding. I didn't have to worry about it getting ruined or my fiance seeing it. All in all very good to work with.

We got it all at Amelishan!! I loved my experience at Amelishan. I found my wedding dress in my first visit in to the bridal shop. The two associates who helped me, Amanda and Michelle were so great. They were very helpful in picking out dresses to try, and choosing my dream dress. Every time I went in after that, they were so sweet and so pleasant to work with. Michelle then helped me find the perfect bridesmaid dress to go with the look I was trying to find. AND my Mother also found her dress there! Each of these got a discount because I was in the reward program, so this was a great bonus! They even sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers the week before my wedding. I was soo so happy with Amelishan bridal. On top of this the groomsmen and dad's got the tuxes from Amelishan too. Absolutely no complaints. They contacted each of the groomsmen when they arrived, were able to work with 4/5 out of town groomsmen, and overall everything was great! Very happy with Amelishan Tux department. My husband got his tux rental for free and the guys got a discount because I bought my wedding dress there and was part of the Amelishan Bridal reward program. This was a great bonus!!

I bought my dress, my mother's dress, my bridesmaids dresses and rented tuxedos from Amelishan. The alterations service they offer is top notch. I had a ton of lace on my dress and Joyce pratically had to rebuild the whole thing but you would never know - she has a magic touch. The other dresses were perfect and I received discount on everything since I bought my dress there which was great savings for the entire bridal party. The tuxedos had to be back on Sunday by 1 PM which was a pain.

We purchased my dress, bridesmaids and my mothers dress at the store. Everyone we worked with was wonderful, knowledgeable and easy going. Joyce did EXCELLENT alterations! My dress fit like a glove!

Worth all the driving!Amelishan is about a 1/2 hr away, one-way from my house. They coordinated all of my wedding party's attire. We bought my dress & veil, my bridesmaids dresses, and my flower girl's dress. We rented tuxes for my groom, his groomsmen, and our fathers. Everyone involved appreciated the professionalism in this locally owned store. Each member of the staff takes great pride in being a part of a couple's special day and proves it through their interaction with their customers. I definitely recommend being a rewards member with the store for some bonus savings! Their alterations staff is amazing as well. I will be recommending Amelishan to any brides-to-be I know-- they certainly put chain stores like David's Bridal to shame...

I bought my dress for my July 2011 wedding from Amelishan. Their dresses are beautiful and most of the women that work there are nice, but I wasn't very happy with my experience. They failed to tell me that the dress I bought was a wrinkle-prone fabric until after I ordered and paid for it (so my dress was wrinkled on my wedding day). When I went in to try on my dress I had an appointment and they treated me like I was bothering them and stuffed me in the back. After you pay for your dress their treatment of you definitely goes downhill. Their alterations department was terrible. The woman in there was rude and decided to do the fitting on my chest when I wasn't wearing a bra (even though I told her I would be) so on my wedding day when I was actually wearing a bra I could barely breath (I wasn't able to eat anything at dinner and actually had to take my bra off halfway through my reception to keep from passing out!). If you buy your dress from here ask lots of questions about it and definitely get your fittings done elsewhere.

I am a plus size and the selection of dresses to try on was amazing. Plus they helped me picked out the dress that was perfect for me. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to get the dress of my dreams here, and gorgeous bridesmaid dresses. The appointments went very well, our salespersons were helpful but never pushy. Every time I came back in I was greeted with a smile, my dresses all arrived on time and in perfect condition. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them, thanks so much!

I bought my wedding gown here and don't let the location fool you. It is in the middle of no where and the strip mall might lead you to believe this might be a less then stellar experience but i loved this place. It had a great selection, esp. for a voluptuous bride like me. The girl who helped me was so patient and sweet and really sincerely seemed to want to help me find exactly what would work for a double wedding the would be taking place in Hawaii on the beach, but also in the cold October WI air upon returning home. She worked with me and let me try on dress after dress till I found "the one". Definately come here to bye your dress. You won't be disappointed. I had a pleasant experience with the alterations lady and my dress turned out great. My only complaint would be the fact that it was hard finding a evening appointment to come in for alterations. I was told they all fill up quickly but that leads me to think that maybe if business is that good that maybe having a second seamstress to help with evening appointments might not be a bad idea. They were accomodating though and I was apprecaitive of that.

I worked with Kim to get my wedding dress. She went through every aspect to make sure I got the right dress, shoes, veil ect. When we had a bridesmaid appt our lady (not Kim) showed us to the dresses and left. I had to pin and hold the dresses for my girls..very disappointed :( The dresses came in on time and everything fit fine. My husband got all the tuxes there and they were perfect.

I'm from Chicago so I was a bit skeptical when my Wisconsin friends took me to a dowdy strip mall in the middle-of-nowhere Wisconsin for my wedding dress. They had all bought their dresses there, so I figured - why not? oooo baby am I glad I went!! The shop is really nice inside and they have a HUGE selection! I ended up leaving with my dream dress - the very first one I tried on! The women there were so sweet and I know I got the dress for a steal compared to what I would have paid in the city. It is well worth the two hour drive north! (though I ended up doing alterations in the city - the driving back and forth would have been way too much) Highly recommend!!

I purchased my bridal gown as well as my bridesmaid dresses from Amelishan. My dress was absolutely gorgeous but I didn't like there policy of ripping the designer tags out of the dresses and not letting me take pictures so I could compare. I worked with Megan the couple times before I decided to get the dress and she was so patient and sweet. The bridesmaid dress experience on the other hand was pretty bad. I had an appt. for 5 of us to come in for trying on dresses and they gave us 1 small room and most of the other rooms were booked with walk in's trying on dresses for prom. And no one helped us at all. Seamstress did an okay job but was really overpriced and was very angry all the time. I almost felt like I was going to get yelled at if I spoke. Overall the Amelishan experience was good.

They are very nice and very helpful. If you are looking for dresses in a wide range of sizes this would be a place to stop at. They not only have dresses, but Tux's as well. Because they are a private company they go out of their way to help couples out which is very refreshing from some of the bigger companies you may have already stopped at.

On my first visit, I worked with an extremely helpful associate who helped me find a perfect dress. I absolutely loved it. When my dress came in I tried it on and took it home. (I had heard nightmares about their alterations person, so I decided to take it somewhere else). When I got home and started looking at the dress more, there was beading that was missing. (The only beading was on a "belt" and it was very obvious that it was missing). I called the store and spoke with the manager. She told me to bring it back in and they would fix it and call when it was done. I live 40 minutes away from the store...so taking it there and having to pick it up was going to be a huge pain. Due to my complaining, they were able to fix the beading while I waited for 30 minutes. I really did appreciate that. If you're looking for a good selection of dresses, I would definitely check it out. Just make sure to really look over your dress before you take it home.

I love Amelishan Bridal! They were the first dress boutique I went to for my wedding dress and the only one. The day I went shopping was a last minute decision so I didn't have an appointment and didn't really expect to walk out having found my wedding dress. Well I was wrong! Most of the ladies there are very helpful and professional. I loved working with my consultant, she made me feel very comfortable, didn't pressure me at all, and I felt like I was buying my dress from my best friend! She even helped me pick out my veil and made things a little more accomodating for me financially seeing as I wasn't expecting to have found "the dress" that day. I also went to Amelishan for my bridesmaids dresses. Our consultant wasn't as helpful as I expected her to be but we were able to find someone else to help when we needed it. Over all my experience there was amazing, the good far out weighed the one bad experience, and they were super accomodating for me when I moved out of state 4 months before my wedding. All of our dresses were beautiful, and definitely were worth the prices we paid (which were excellent in comparison to what we would've paid at other boutiques). I personally didn't use their alterations department because of my move but have gone to them before for a previous wedding. I found their work to be excellent, despite not loving the lady's personality she is very precise and made my dress "fit like a glove". I highly recommend their services to all future brides!

I got my dress, the bridesmaids dresses and my tuxes all from Amelishan. You can't beat the selection. The service was great in the tux department, but hit or miss in the dress department. Some sales associates were very friendly and helpful while a few others were a little rude and unhelpful. Many of my friends have had similar experiences there. The fact that the designer labels were removed from the dresses was a big turnoff too.

Amelishan Bridal is an amazing place to go for all your wedding dress/tux needs. I went there not expecting to find my dress and I wanted to leave with five. I ended up picking the perfect one and from then on out that was the only place I went for the rest of that stuff. We got the bridesmaid dresses there, the bridesmaids and myself got all of our fittings done there and my husband and his groomsmen/fathers got their tuxes in the tux shop located at Amelishan. It was the perfect place for all our needs!
GUEST

I ended up buying my dress from Amelishan because they do have quite an extensive selection of dresses. my initial appointment was good and i ended up making a purchase, but i didn't get much in the way of suggestions from the consultant. when my dress came into the store, i went in to try it on and they essentially handed me the dress and that was it. my friend and i were on our own with taking it to the dressing room, trying it on, examining it, etc. i flagged someone down to ask about alterations because i had a couple of modifications i was hoping to make to the dress. the alterations women was not agreeable with my about the changes i wanted to make. based on the overall experience when my dress came in, i made the decision to take my dress with me that day and go elsewhere for alterations.

Amelisham has beautiful dresses. They have many to look at and you are able to pick out ones yourself, unlike other bridal shops. They dresses are very reasonable. I bought mine during their annual clearance sale and saved almost $800. The seamstress is not part of Amelisham- take alterations elsewhere. The seamstress is over priced. I paid almost the same for alterations as I did for the dress.
GUEST

Totally worth the drive. The dresses are beautiful and they will make you feel like a princess.

First, they don't have tags in any of the dresses, so finding anything out about them takes a lot of investigating. If they had a good business, they'd put the tags in and not worry about customers leaving for a different store. There are two great things about this place, they have a large selection of dresses and they have plus sizes to try on. The woman I worked with originally was nice, not too pushing and very helpful.Everything else was awful. I was treated so rudely at a bridal show by a worker. I told her I had already purchased my dress from them and had a few questions and she blew me off completey and made a rude remark. Another time I went in, they showed me where the bridesmaid dresses were and left me and a friend to do everything on our own, they offered NO help!I bought my dress there and never returned.

This shop has it all. Besides dresses and alterations, they have a wonderful selection of men's formalwear. The staff is polite and knows their stuff!
GUEST

I loved my dress and the tuxes were really nice and yet not as expensive as other places! They have many name brand tuxes too which was awesome and the staff was very nice!

Amelisham shines in the fact that they have SO many dresses to try on in a very large range of sizes, and they are all very different. The lady you are assigned when you first try on your dresses are very kind and helpful. But after that is where they falter. Sometimes the phone doesn't get answered, or your transferred and have to sit on the line for awhile until someone can pick up the phone. If you happen to just be stopping in to pick something up or drop something off, you usually had to wait in line just to talk to someone about why you are there. And just a word of advice - YOU CAN TAKE YOUR DRESS ELSEWHERE TO GET ALTERED! They generally discourage it because they have an in-house seamstress but she's not really a part of Amelisham.. and is very expensive. Overall, the dresses are unique and beautiful, and if you have shopped around already and fall in love with a dress here - go for it. They'll do a great job, you've just got to have patience.

I had many bad experiences with Amelishan throughout the wedding planning process. The staff was very nice when I was dress shopping, but became pushy and helpful after the purchase. I didn't feel like the information they gave was ever completely accurate and they were often snotty and unprofessional during visits. There were many times when I couldn't find anyone to help me wven though I had an appointment and the store was not busy. The one good thing - they have a large selection of dresses and carry some designers not easily found in the area.
GUEST

I absolutely loved my dress, but wasn't a huge fan of the service received. They were quite pushy, telling me I had to get my dress ordered, even though I knew I had some time. They also refuse to tell you what the brand name is of the dresses you try on, which I guess a practice in some dress shops, but something I had never experienced... However, the selection was unbeatable, which is why I purchased from them.

If you're coming from Milwaukee or further south or west, Amelishan is TOTALLY worth your drive. The service is personal and excellent and the selection is unbelievable!! We got everything there…the alterations, my undergarments, my dress, the maids dresses, the tuxes, my mom's dress, wedding day accessories!!! They also have a great member program good for discounts on tuxes and maids gowns and mother and grandmothers gowns, etc. They also have an in-house videographer, photographer and DJ service. It truly is a one-stop shop! See Elizabeth when you go! She's fabulous!! Ingrid in Men's Formal is also a pleasure to work with!

Overall would not recommend. I made the mistake of purchasing a dress here on my first day out shopping. It was high pressure "get 10% off if you buy TODAY." While I loved my dress, I do not agree with their business practices. They rip the tags out of the dresses so you cannot tell the designer. My first trip there, they were very helpful while trying to sell me a dress. A few months later when I went back to pick up the dress and look at flower girl dresses, we received terrible (no) service, even though we had an appointment and it was not busy.On the upside, they do have a ton of dresses, so it may be helpful to go and try a bunch on just to see what styles you like. I would not recommend actually purchasing here though. I have also heard nightmares about their alterations department, though I personally did not use them.

I was so impressed from the first time I walked into Amelishan - my mother and I decided after our first visit that no matter what dress I chose, Amelishan was our choice of WHERE to buy my dress. We had shopped around for so long, visiting every bridal boutique we could research in southeast Wisconsin, but the helpfulness of the staff and the way they did everything they could to make my wedding day perfect was very impressive. They were so personable - they even remembered my name when I walked through the door on my second visit. They had a HUGE selection of gowns and they also had the biggest variety of bridesmaid gowns & colors I had seen anywhere (WAY better than David's Bridal). Amelishan is an all in one stop bridal shop - I got my dress, slip, alterations, veil, jewelry, undergarments, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, tuxes, and even my mom's dress all in the same place. I felt like I had gained a whole new group of friends by the time I left with my wedding dress the day before my wedding. Amelishan was definitely top notch!! I would recommend it to any bride-to-be!
GUEST

Amelishan was a great place to find my dress and the dresses for my bridesmaids. The selection was great, but not as GREAT as the service. They were so helpful and made you feel completely at ease. They didn't just shove you in a dressing room by yourself, trying to get into those crazy dresses without any help. The prices were reasonable, you could find something in any price range. They have so many accessories. I ended up getting my veil, headpiece and necklace from there as well. My mother-in-law even got her dress there. Also, they have a seamstress right in house to do any alterations you may need. When you become an Amelishan bride, you feel like a Queen!!

I purchased my wedding dress, veil, and bridesmaids dresses at Amelishan and was thrilled with their service. They were the first store I went to and they got us in without an appointment. They let me look through the dresses and choose as many as I liked, to get a sense of my style and what looked good on me. Although they had the dresses hanging out on the floor, was a much more intimate experience than places like David's Bridal (which I visited later) where you feel like you're in a department store. Amelishan is more like a boutique, and the staff were all very nice and helpful. I ended up buying the first dress I tried on at Amelishan, but not until I had shopped around at 5 other stores in Madison and Appleton. It took about 4 months to come in after I ordered it. I also purchased dresses for my 4 bridesmaids there and my veil. Actually, when I ordered my dress I also ordered a tulle veil, and when it came in it was more fluffy than I remembered (though it was the same thing I had ordered). I found another veil that I loved and the owner let us make the exchange, even though it was against their "official" policy. That kind of personal attention is why I'd recommend Amelishan to anyone.Note: Amelishan is affiliated with a seamstress who works out of their store. We had her do our fittings and she did good work, though her personality was a little abrasive. I heard from a bridesmaid that her prices were a little high too, so I would consider shopping around for a seamstress.
GUEST

Great dresses for my bridesmaids and very helpful staff...but a little hard to get to and we had to take ALL of the dresses at once, not let the girls pick them up individually. But still, beautiful place that was fun to visit. Lots of selection!
GUEST

I bought my wedding dress during the fall sale and got a great deal buying it off the floor. They have TONS of dresses and the shop is huge with multiple dressing rooms. It's like being at David's Bridal but with the service of a small family owned store (which it is). I also got my maids dresses, flower girl dress, and tuxedos there. I didn't have any problems and received a discount on everything because of their rewards program. Everything was shipped to us within three months and and tuxedos were correct the first time.

Loved the woman who runs the bridal shop. The dress was high quality and worth every penny.

We got two little girls’ dresses for a very reasonable price, good service and the girls got a little fairy to go with their dresses.
GUEST

I loved my dress. Got a GREAT price.... some were nicer then others. Others more helpful than some. Overall, I would go back though. Nice small store where you can get attention you need.

From the minute I walked through the door I was in love with the store! Roxanne and Shannon made me feel like I was more than just any other bride as they helped me pick out my dress. They were enthusiastic and caring every time I walked through the door! I was able to find the dress of my dreams! They also helped me choose my veil and jewelry to compliment my dress. We also got the tuxes and bridesmaid dresses at Amelishan's. We had so much fun trying on different dresses. Shannon helped us pick out a dress for them that would compliment mine. The staff was patient with us as 7 bridesmaids tried to agree on one dress! I was so happy with how our wedding party looked. Everything was coordinated perfectly. After their experience at Amelishan's, almost all of my friends have gone back for their own weddings!

The people at Amelishan were friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. My wife was able to find a beautiful dress – exactly what she dreamt of – for a price that did not break the budget. Alterations were also done here, and the dress fit perfectly and for a reasonable cost.

Pleasant service for the most part, if you are not plus size. Unfortunately my MOH was treated poorly. She's a size 26, she knows she's a 26, she has a mirror at home, she doesn't need someone repeating over and over how heavy she is and how they aren't sure if she will be able to fit into the dress. What is there not to be sure about? Take the measurement, look at the chart, and then give the woman a yes or no answer. Don't detain her for an hour for a measurement appt. They also did my alterations. If I had it to do over again, I would have done them myself. The seamstress was stressed, busy, and very unpersonable. It was as if I was wasting her time. I loved my dress though, even though it was still too big for me.

Prices were great. I rented my cape from here and it was just what I wanted!

Amelishan Bridal had very nice dresses and excessories but their customer service was absolutely dreadful! They had me in tears, they hung up on my mother when she called to get assistance. The problem began when I received wrong information about whether or not my bridesmaid dresses were ordered. They told me they were orderd but they were still waiting for measurements for a bridesmaid. I was worried whether or not the dresses would arrive on time. Happily the dresses did arrive but the measurements they did of the bridesmaids were not accurate. They recommended much larger sizes than necessary. The dresses were way too big for a number of my bridesmaids. They needed massive (and expensive) alterations.Further, I am tall and needed a longer slip to go under my Aline dress to get it to lay correctly. They told me they would order a tall size slip for me. When I called to check in this they said they did not have such thing, and had no idea how to get one. The best they could do is order a regular size slip, have me buy it, pay for alterations to try and make it longer and they said "no guarantees" that it would work. I obviously did not take them up on this. My wedding was beautiful and I loved my dress (which I was able to buy off the rack and didn't have to order) but they made what is supposed to be a fun process a very stressful undertaking for me! Maybe they've improved, but I was disappointed they were not even sorry about the customer service problems and took no responsibility for errors!
