I helped my busy grad student daughter plan this wedding from Ohio, and Cody was a godsend, advising about vendors, helping us organize a complicated outdoor event with attention to detail and superb problem-solving, and offering warm enthusiasm and guidance all along the way. Cody opened her incredible stock of decor to us and helped give the wedding a truly beautiful and unique look that was a perfect match to my daughter's personality and taste.
I have to say that Cody's expertise really shown on the day of the wedding, when rain was in the offing and the outdoor ceremony for 120 had to be moved inside the tent. Cody created a pretty chapel-like setting for the service, and, in an hour when guests were having cocktails in the vineyard tasting house, transformed the tent into a beautiful dining room with candles,flowers, and many lovely details you'd imagined wold have taken hours to put in place. And all with a smile.
I have collaborated with many event planners in my work, and Cody tops the list for client-centered caring, expertise in organization, real skill and style in decorating, and, most of all, going above and beyond, every step of the way, to deliver the experience we hoped for while having our back with vendors and every potential complication. Hire her -- she is the best.

I also would trust all vendors that she recommends. A good example, our hair dresser cancelled on us 2 days before the wedding and Cody had someone scheduled the next day. The lady did a beautiful job.
Bottom line, Cody was well worth the expense and she was the consummate professional.
Cody was the best decision that my (now) husband and I made during our entire planning process. I remember it like it was yesterday; my husband and I had booked a venue that we realized may have been above our budget, we had just returned from our third trip to Charlottesville that week (with our 2 month old baby,) and were discussing the decisions we had made thus far. We had just met with the always wonderful Steve from MS Events. I think he sensed that I was overwhelmed. He gave me Cody's card. I assured him that I had it all handled, that we knew what we were doing, that we could definitely plan a wedding on our own (from 2 hours away.) That night I did not sleep, I emailed Cody at 3 AM. It was the most disorganized and frantic email she's probably ever received. I pressed send and three minutes later, Cody emailed me back. She was so warm and understanding. She told me I could call her (AT 3 AM!) Before I even hired her, she had done all of my hotel blocks for me-just from the kindness in her heart. It took my husband and I less than 6 hours to decide to hire her. From then on out she navigated through any and all obstacles with ease, introducing us to the most incredible vendors, that were consistently conscious of our budget and our vision for our wedding. Cody "saved the day" on more than one occasion. Our wedding day was flawless.
Cody is a beautiful person with an incredible heart. She is a joy to work with, speak to, laugh with. She is in love with weddings and she adores her brides. She goes above and beyond what is expected or imagined. She has been a true blessing to my husband and I. Throughout this journey we have come to adore her and our lives would not be the same without her.
Over the course of my 1.5+ year engagement, working with Cody was one of the best decisions that I made the entire time! From the first day that we had lunch together until the big day itself, Cody was the most important piece of my wedding puzzle (2nd only to the groom:). After about 30 seconds of meeting her, I knew that I wanted to hire her! She was kind, bubbly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic and we shared many laughs while bouncing around wedding ideas that first afternoon:) She was an endless wealth of useful information, ideas, and support throughout my wedding planning process. In addition, her responsiveness is out of this world! Whenever I called or emailed her, she would get back to me within a mater of hours (sometimes even a matter of minutes)! Not only does Cody cover all of her professional bases, but she went above and beyond and supported me emotionally throughout the often stressful process of planning a wedding. I can remember one specific time about 3 weeks before the wedding when I called her up in an overwhelmed state of tearful panic. She listened to me as friend would, talked me down, and helped me figure out solutions to the everything that was worrying me out. The mere fact that I felt comfortable enough to call her in such a state speaks to the tremendous trust that she builds with her brides. She truly makes you feel like you're her only one! All and all my wedding went off with out a hitch! It was beautiful, magical, wonderful, romantic, fun, dream-like, etc.! You could pick just about any positive adjective that you like and it would apply to my wedding:) And the best part about it was that I was able to relax and truly be a guest at my own wedding, knowing that all of the details were in the hands of a seasoned expert:) If you're currently searching for a wedding planner, look no further! After thinking I could plan my own wedding I tried reaching out to several potential vendors (catering, officiant, etc) & became frustrated with half hearted responses so my mom decided to hire a wedding planner for me. After giving Cody a few ideas of what things I liked & my idea for a theme, she had pulled together some pieces from her collection of beautiful & functional decorations to our meeting & I was so excited by how much she understood the aesthetic I was going for. She also had a ton of great suggestions on how I could save money. After mentioning that Cody was my planner, vendors were now eager to set up meetings. Cody was very quick & thorough with her responses to my questions. My husband, mom & dad noted how professional she was & how impressed they were. I decided my maids & I would create our own bouquets- which we did the night before- on the wedding morning we woke up & realized the hotel fridges were too cold & the hydrangeas had died- Cody to the rescue- she told me not to worry about it & that she would fix it- no problem. When the girls & I got to the venue Cody had created BEAUTIFUL bouquets for us- on top of everything else she had to do—I was amazed! On the day of when I saw the ceremony & reception areas I was amazed by all the little details Cody included, the gorgeous décor from her collection was utilized perfectly & transformed my venue from a giant empty room into what I had been imagining. Cody had created beautiful centerpieces & flower arrangements for my guests tables & the head table was absolutely AMAZING!! Throughout the entire process of designing & planning, Cody would stop at nothing to make sure my day was perfect- which it was ☺. My dad made the comment that Cody never brought attention to herself but was always available when & where she was needed. My wedding went off without a hitch & it’s all thanks to Cody. Not only is Cody a top notch wedding planner, she’s so sweet, fun & easy to get along with! I love you Cody!
Cody was a joy to work with! She is super supportive especially during crunch time. She helped coordinate everything between vendors to make things run as smoothly as possible. Her decor collection was fabulous and she has such a great eye. I highly recommend her as your coordinator!
Cody helped us plan our April wedding at Pippin Hill, and honestly, it was the wedding of our dreams. Actually, it was better than what I dreamed! I reached out to Cody when we were thinking about getting married at Pippin Hill. My husband and I both work in DC, and we work too much, so planning a wedding from a bit of a distance felt overwhelming pretty quickly. We look at our wedding in two phases--pre- and post-hiring Cody. The second phase was much more fun!
Cody helped us assemble a wonderful team of vendors, and made spot-on recommendations for folks that reflected our style and what was important to us. This limited the amount of time I needed to spend interviewing vendors. She also handled all the vendor coordination, so instead of me frantically tracking everyone down, Cody ensured everyone was on the same page.
We also loved her decor. It is incredibly fun to go shopping in her collection. With the combination of her objects, and a few special touches that we thought of with Cody, the wedding felt very personalized and just what we wanted.
She took care of all the details and personal touches and was so responsive to what we needed. The week was threatening rain, and Cody was incredibly reassuring, and helped us create a back-up plan just in case of rain. We occasionally found Pippin Hill a little frustrating, but Cody took care of communication with them and alleviated that potential stressor.
Most importantly, we (and our families) were able to enjoy every moment of the entire day because Cody took care of things. I was prepared to deal with wedding day stressors, but there wasn't anything to deal with!
I cannot say enough good things about Amore Events by Cody, LLC. Cody is AMAZING! She made the whole planning process seem so simple. Cody connected us with the best vendors while keeping our budget in mind. Cody was very responsive with all questions & concerns I had (as well as my Mom's). Anytime I felt stressed, a simple phone call with Cody made any worries disappear. We also used her wedding decor, which made the wedding both beautiful and unique. I'm a full time CPA who's work hours don't afford me the luxury of trying to plan a wedding. It was back in September, when I was having a full blown meltdown over trying to plan my March wedding that my mother made the decision to hire Cody from Amore Events in Charlottesville (I live in NoVA). With one phone call, all of my stress and worries faded away. Cody was so warm and friendly and knew absolutely everything I needed to do and who could do it best. It felt like hiring a great friend to help you plan your wedding, it didn't feel like hiring a vendor at all. From the moment we hired Cody, she stayed close to me and went above and beyond to do everything and anything she could to keep me from freaking out about the details. I even called her to rant about wedding details, just like I would call any of my friends. Cody was always patient and helped me through all of it.
By February, Cody had lined up all the vendors and taken over every aspect, which was like a breath of fresh air to me. On the day of my wedding, Cody worked tirelessly behind the scenes, ensuring that everything went perfectly, which it did. When I saw the reception room that she singlehandedly created, I was speechless. She took my vision and executed it beautifully. She thought of things that had never occurred to me and her relationships with the vendors saved me tons of money. Cody did an amazing job pulling off our wedding in a little over a month! My stress was minimal throughout the process, thanks to her. She picked out several amazing vendors for us, and was very responsive to our feedback. On our wedding day, my husband and I were truly able to enjoy every moment without worrying about a single thing because Cody and her staff were so on top of everything! We reveived TONS of compliments on how wonderful the wedding was and how much of an amazing job Cody had done. To top it off, Cody is a very sweet person - a joy to work with!
Cody is the best wedding planner we could have imagined! We were on a very tight budget so paying for a "day of" planner was a big decision. We decided it's one day that we deserved to let someone else handle the details -- WORTH EVERY PENNY! Cody went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! So many decisions, big and small, went into planning and executing our daughter’s wedding day. Without question, the best decision we made was to hire Cody Grannis of Amore Events. Seemingly, we recruited Cody as a “Day-Of” Coordinator—someone to oversee wedding day details. But she proved to be so much more.
From the beginning (10 months before the wedding) Cody made herself invaluable. She welcomed our questions, calls and emails and answered everything promptly and professionally. She made it her job to know everything that was going on with our planning. I felt that we always had someone on call to rely upon. I don’t know how she does it, but she made us feel as if we were her only clients. Without exaggerating, I’d say she responded to 95% of our calls or emails within 15 minutes.
Cody is extremely savvy about all things wedding-related. She knew protocols, practices, etiquette, and had contacts for anything we needed. Included in her services was the development and continued refinement of a wedding-day timeline. This vital tool was central to the big day: everyone knew exactly when they had to be where and for what. On the day of the wedding, Cody worked tirelessly. From early morning she coordinated deliveries, departures, arrivals among a dozen or more wedding vendors. I sense that if anything had gone wrong she would have had a Plan B at the ready. I have no doubt that Cody could have solved any issue that arose.
Cody is extremely hard-working and dedicated. She takes initiative—you can rarely ask her to take care of something that she hasn’t already seen to. At every step, Cody anticipated our needs and acted accordingly. She is super-organized and extremely punctual—two qualities critical in a wedding professional. I sense that Cody genuinely likes and cares very much for her brides and grooms and their families, and the feeling is mutual. We are so lucky to have found her.
Cody was simply amazing. She has a very kind heart and truly cares about her brides. She makes you feel like you are the only bride that she is working with. Cody helped us save money, dealt with every little detail so we didn't have to worry about it, and allowed us to have the wedding we planned in our heads.

My wedding was truly the greatest experience I’ve ever had, and Cody Grannis is at the top of the list of the people that helped make it so wonderful! My now husband and I decided to plan a wedding in Virginia while living in New York City. Cody was the very first person we spoke with, and from our first phone conversation, she provided me with tons of helpful information and advice. We worked with her specifically for day of coordination, but her services as an advisor and invaluable resource began way before. The recommendations she provided for other vendors helped me put together the ideal team for my budget, miles away from Charlottesville with only a few pre-wedding planning trips. She is extremely responsive by phone and email and we were able to meet up every time we were in town.
Cody also has an amazing sense of style and design, and her collection of beautiful vintage accessories really added a lot to the atmosphere of the reception for no additional cost. I complete trusted her, and was delighted to see the decorative touches (escort card table, additional decorations) she added at the reception.
Her kind professional attitude will put everyone from your mom to your officiant at ease – you will have a new friend! She will help you solve problems during the months before (know that selecting and finalizing proposals with your vendors is still your responsibility with day-of coordination), put together a table plan of your reception venue, and will create a timeline with you and coordinate these expectations with your vendors. The best part is, you’ll be able to enjoy the experience the day of and days immediately before the wedding. Everything was handled perfectly by Cody and her team, and I had the time of my life. I enthusiastically recommend Amore Events by Cody!
Cody is awesome. She's absolutely professional, but with a fun and laid-back vibe. Most importantly, she truly cares for her brides (and their entire families--my mother absolutely loved her, too!). We went with "day of" services because most of our arrangements were in place by the time we decided to hire a planner, but Cody still gave us some great recommendations for remaining vendors and coordinated the schedule with those we'd hired. She definitely went above and beyond--meeting with us in person multiple times, talking on the phone, answering emails months before the big day, etc. Her rustic decor items were a big hit--and she added some lovely touches without any direction to do so (i.e. writing "To have and to hold, in case you get cold" on a chalkboard next to the blankets that we'd brought--so adorable). I know that Cody's experience and relationships in the Charlottesville area are invaluable. She was one of the best "investments" that we made for our wedding. I couldn't tell you, though, all of the amazing things that Cody did behind the scenes, the situations she managed, and the ways she helped to make the event run smoothly--because (thanks to her!) I was too busy enjoying my wedding day with my husband, family, and friends.
We worked with Cody for about 8 months leading up to our wedding day and she was a delight to work with! We were planning our wedding remotely from Arlington, so having Cody local to the area was a life saver in terms of vendor suggestions and the invaluable experience she has with event planning in the Charlottesville area (which can present unique challenges). I cannot imagine having pulled off a wedding at Ash Lawn-Highland without having Cody there to work with our caterer and run point with the vendors. This wedding site had some very special challenges to work around (no kitchen, wide spread layout, few bathrooms, etc.) and without Cody there to guide us, we would have ended up with a less-than-optimal guest experience simply because we didn't know what the limitations were at this space. The little touches that she brings to a ceremony and reception are so thoughtful and really help to set your wedding apart from everyone else - especially if you have that rustic, country-chic kind of aesthetic that is perfect for Virginia weddings. For the "day of" planning package, Cody does so much more than just coordinating in the weeks immediately prior to the wedding. She helped us review contracts, pick vendors, generously let us use items from her gorgeous stock of decor, and most importantly, maintained her sweet and helpful disposition, even when we were stressed to the maximum. We love her and would recommend her to anyone looking for a planner in the area!
I cannot speak highly enough about Cody and Amore Events. From the very first phone call, I knew that I had found the perfect woman to plan my wedding. She was warm of heart, an active listener, knowledgeable and confident without a bit of pretense. She's also unspeakably organized and incredibly responsive.
She was my planner, but she was also my confidant and my friend. She came to my dress fitting, met me for lunch, laughed and cried with me, became my florist when I didn't have one and poured wine for my guests when the waiters were busy. (And when I say she was my florist, I do mean that she ordered flowers, designed and constructed every single arrangement. And they were beautiful!) Cody was the wedding guardian angel that I never knew I needed and in retrospect, couldn't have survived without. I cannot recommend her highly enough! Book early, ladies!
Amore Events by Cody is amazing! Because I was on a budget, at first I did not plan on having a wedding planner. However, after realizing how overwhelming and stressful the planning can be my mom and I decided to call Amore Event Co, and that was the best decision ever!! Cody is absolutely amazing!! All the stress we had felt immediately went away. Cody was so so helpful during wedding planning. She is on top of everything and keeps track of all the big and small details so you don't have to worry about anything! She knows all of the local vendors and had great suggestions and recomendations which was so helpful with our budget and decision making. Thanks to Cody we had our fairy tale wedding! Our wedding really was everything that I had ever dreamed of and more. It was such an amazing feeling to know on my wedding day everything was going to be perfect and I wouldn't have to worry about anything! She is so creative and has gorgeous decorations. She decorated our ceremony site and reception hall and they looked absolutely beautiful! Everything went perfectly. She took care of all the details and made sure everything was taken care of with the other vendors so all we had to do on our wedding day was have fun! Cody is amazing! With almost 10 months to plan my daughter’s wedding, and being on a tight budget, we thought we could manage the Wedding Planning ourselves. However, when we found ourselves just two and a half months from the wedding date and still with many dangling details, including unresolved vendors like our caterer, and venue decorations undecided, we realized we were in trouble. And then, my father died, and my time, energy and emotions were focused on a very different family event in another state. That was when Cody came to our rescue (and did she ever)!
As we talked on the phone for the first time, Cody’s voice was reassuring, confident, kind, full of enthusiasm, and just what I needed. She promised we would have a beautiful wedding and she would take all the anxiety out of our planning. She said she wanted us to be able to enjoy the big day and leave all the work and worry to her. She was true to her word!
Within 48 hours we had met and immediately she went to work. With sensitivity, cheerfulness, professionalism, cheerfulness, attention to detail, cheerfulness, confidence that comes from experience, cheerfulness, and tremendous talent she: recommended vendors to fit our budget and goals, reviewed contracts and made helpful suggestions, sent reassuring emails, communicated with all the vendors, prepared a timeline for the day of the wedding, scheduled the rehearsal, ran errands for us, made wonderful suggestions, prepared a table layout for the reception, kept us all on schedule at the rehearsal, beautifully decorated the venue (King Family Vineyard) for the wedding and reception with amazingly perfect accessories from her own collection, and so much more…..
On the day of the wedding, with a beautiful smile and gentle manner Cody worked tirelessly to make sure in every way that everything was perfect. And, it was! I cannot recommend Cody highly enough. She will not only make sure your wedding is the wedding of your dreams; she will become a friend forever!
Cody was dream planner. When my husband and I first got engaged I wasn't sure about a wedding planner, after all I come from a big family who are more than willing to assist on the day of. But I knew I wanted all to be stress free on the day of, so I heard about Cody. After our initial meeting I knew she would be perfect for me, and she was! I couldn't have asked for a more relaxed, stress free wedding. Seriously, every single thing was perfect. Her attention to detail blew me away. Everything was exactly how I wanted, and all my guests loved all the little touches. Cody was a friend, confidant and true life saver throughout the entire process. I recommend her strongly and know she will be a valued person to have by your side during your wedding planning :)
I cannot say enough great things about Cody with Amore Events! Hiring her as our day-of coordinator was absolutely the best decision I made in planning our wedding. She was much more than a day-of coordinator - she met with me on multiple occasions before the wedding to talk details, emailed me on a very regular basis (and would respond to my emails within minutes, usually!), and I could always bounce ideas off her whenever I was doubting something. Her supply of wedding decor was perfect for our wedding, and I knew I could trust her to make our wedding beautiful without giving her very much direction at all. The best thing she did for us, though, was convince us to keep our ceremony outside despite the cold temperature and drizzle - it turned out to be gorgeous and none of the guests minded the weather during the short ceremony. Cody knows how to make weddings perfect, and I would highly recommend her!
Believe it or not my original "day of" coordinator bailed on me 12 days before my wedding! It was a shock and it was awful... I was planning a wedding from far away, and my crazy job takes up every second of my day. I was really at my wit's end, but then I found Cody! I am not exaggerating when I say that Cody jumped in and completely rescued my wedding! She was all over it from day one! She took all of my ideas and made them a reality, even though she was under enormous time constraints, and all while managing several other weddings during what has to be her busiest season of the year. Cody put everything on a workable time line, contacted all of my vendors, resolved several serious issues that we couldn't, and pointed out some issues that I hadn't even realized. Cody and her team also met with me on location to do a complete walk through so that no stone was left unturned and so that everything would run smoothly. Several items from Cody's fantastic portfolio of lanterns, baskets, tables and signs added such a festive and cohesive look to the wedding. With the guidance of Cody's fantastic colleague Jane Maples, who ran the event start to finish seemlessly (as well as Cody's very talented daughter), I have to say that my wedding day was perfect, and I cannot thank them enough for their kindness, generosity, hard work, and attention to detail. I could never have pulled this off on my own, and I am so grateful to have found Cody and Jane! I would not hesitate to recommend Amore Events By Cody to anyone.
There are no words that can describe how Cody contributed- no, created- our perfect day. Our wedding was breath-taking. Every little touch. Cody used her visual creative skills, her vast resource of vintage and classic decor, and her personal style and touch to make what was a fuzzy picture in our head a real-life fairy-tail wedding. But what she did for us was much much more than that. From the very second we first met with her, a year before our big day, we felt dozens of pounds lifted off our shoulders. I remember turning to Chris, my now husband, right there in the parking lot that day, and saying, "I'm so glad we found her." She met with us, sent us emails, and made phone calls to keep us on track with what needed to happen. She told me when something wasn't worth stressing about- and when something was. One of the things Cody was best at was relationships. She has relationships with vendors in the area and is incredible at negotiations. She managed to achieve things for us that we wouldn't have been able to on our budget without her help. She was worth every single dollar in that regard, and more. And more than anything at all- it was the sense of complete relaxation I felt on the morning of my wedding that I couldn't have felt without her presence and help. I knew that in her hands, nothing would go wrong (or if it did, I wouldn't know about it). After all was said and done- we had an amazing year of planning, an INCREDIBLE wedding weekend- and we walked away with someone we now call 'friend.'
In short, without Cody's help, our wedding would not have been the memorable event my husband and I dreamed of. As an out of town couple, Cody played a key role in herding our vendors, working to secure fine details at the venue, and generally running down all the small tasks we had no idea would be a part of the process. Most importantly, on the big day, Cody and her team pulled everything together and ensured a seamless ceremony, reception, and dinner. I'll never forget, as we were cutting the cake, my husband turned to Cody and said, "What do I do?" Without missing a beat, she gave us our cues and kept us on track. We would highly recommend Amore Events by Cody to anyone planning and conducting a wedding ceremony in Charlottesville.
Cody was supportive, friendly, compassionate and very organized. She recommended excellent vendors and was there for us every step of the way. Luckily we did not have any major glitches but I am sure she would have handled them well if we had. I loved working with her. She was the perfect match for us as we planned a long distance wedding.

Had it not been for Cody, I can honestly say my wedding would not have happened. No bride wants tornado warnings on their wedding day, but unfortunately, that is exactly what I got. Cody handled everything with grace and ease and was able to move the wedding to an indoor venue at the UVA campus. She was able to gather all the vendors and organize the move about an hour before the ceremony was supposed to take place. It was truly amazing. The new venue was absolutely beautiful, and Cody remained a calm presence throughout it all! I would absolutely recommend Cody to any bride. She is creative, resourceful, and most of all a friend to the bride during what can be a stressful time. Thank you for everything Cody, you were able to create an amazing wedding, despite the curveball you were thrown!!!
I cannot say enough good things about Amore Events by Cody! Cody is instantaneously responsive to e-mail (which is so comforting for a crazed bride!), her decor is gorgeous, and she has the perfect eye to help design your wedding. Her bubbly personality and passion for making your wedding a dream-come-true is so inspiring and really makes everything so much easier and more beautiful!
The decor we used from Cody's collection really added such a special touch to our day. We loved her shepherd hooks and lanterns, vintage books, tables, and wooden boxes, the vintage mailbox and those old leather luggage pieces are to die for! They made the perfect addition to our guest book and gift tables, and the books added a special touch to our centerpieces. More than that, though, was Cody's eye and vision: She was able to help us pick out the exact pieces that would create a cohesive look to the wedding without over-doing it (when I just wanted to clear out her whole collection and use everything!).
I am an event planner myself, so I didn't think I needed to hire a coordinator, but I wish I had been smart enough to go to Cody right when I got engaged! With Pinterest and so many bridal magazines and blogs these days, it's so easy to just want to do everything. Cody is incredible to work with, start to finish, and I know my day would have been flawless if she had done the coordination too. But even though I was just using her decor items, she was always there to offer support, recommendations for any detail of the wedding, and offer a hug when I was freaking out about the weather or other details. She even came out to my venue with me to walk through the site and my plans so she could offer additional suggestions!

I didn't think I needed a wedding planner at first and I wasn't exactly sure what they actually did. But I hired Cody (of Amore Events by Cody) when I got pregnant and felt too sick to handle it all myself. She enabled me to be focus on enjoying the moment rather than worrying about vendors.
Here are some of the helpful things she did:
-- coordinated babysitting for my guests who have kids (Cody's 15-year-old daughter did a fabulous job babysitting)
--negotiated discounts with vendors that I wouldn't have gotten on my own (she seems to have a relationship with all the vendors in the C'ville are)
-- Suggested creative ideas such as a "golf cart exit" for me and my husband at the end of the night.
--Handled all communication with vendors in the weeks prior to the big day -- this was a HUGE help because I know there would have been too many emails for me to have handled while I was working full-time
Suggested practical, cost saving measures for me to consider. (e.g., i ended up buying a bucket of loose flowers from the florist for a very cheap price and Cody made beautiful ceremony decorations using garden hooks and mason jars that she contributed.
-- Contributed photo frames made of reclaimed barn wood for us to use for table #s at the reception. (She has lots of beautiful, vintage decorative items like this)
--Dealt with unexpected problems on the day of the wedding (for example, there was a big brown dirty spot in the middle of the ceremony location. it looked like someone had just buried their dog. But Cody told me not to worry, and solved the problem herself)
-- Responded to my emails instantly each time I contacted her in weeks before the day
-- Listened thoughtfully to my vision and never imposed her ideas on me.
I could continue with so many more examples, but hopefully this is sufficient to convey that Cody Grannis is awesome! I highly recommend her and I feel grateful to her for the role she played in making my wedding so great.
To start off, I thought that I wouldn't need a wedding planner until a few months before the wedding. Turns out your wedding can be pretty stressful. The minute my mom and I talked to Cody, it was like a huge weight had been lifted off our shoulders. We chose to only have a day of planner. However, Cody went above and beyond and was available and there for us every last step of the way. If I emailed her a question that wasn't too urgent, she would still get back to me within an hour. She was absolutely incredible! Not only was she always available, it almost seemed like I was planning my wedding with my best friend. She has a great way of guiding brides without being judgmental nor to heavy handed. I never once questioned her work ethic or if the big event would turn out okay. Well, it didn't turn out just okay, it turned out amazing! Everything I could have asked for was that way because of Cody. I should mention that Cody is not only a great and well organized planner, she also has a ton of great decor which she does a wonderful job setting up which sets the stage and romantic atmosphere for the night! There is nothing negative I can say about Amore Events by Cody. Cody did an amazing job and is absolutely a miracle worker! I couldn't of asked for more!
Hands-down the best decision I made during wedding planning was hiring Amore Events by Cody! My fiancé and I were planning an out-of-town wedding and we were slowly realizing we had way too much to do and not enough days left to get it done. I did a few searches for wedding coordinators in the area, and luckily landed on Cody’s website. She returned my e-mail in a matter of minutes, and it was such a sigh of relief to find someone who was not only bubbly and passionate about what she does, but also very affordable. When you hire her, you also have access to Cody’s very large and very cool supply of wedding décor items, which she will loan to you and deliver to your wedding site. That was a huge help!

Cody helped me plan my recent wedding at King Family Vineyards in only 4 months, and I could not have been more pleased with how the event came together. King Family Vineyards provides a gorgeous setting for a wedding, but everything must be brought in -- food, dinnerware, linens, flowers, music, etc. That is a lot to coordinate, especially if you are from out of town, like I am. Cody was simply fantastic at working with my vendors to set-up and execute a beautiful and smoothly run event. Thanks to Cody, I was able to sit back and truly enjoy the wedding. Cody's personality adds to her success as a wedding planner. She is enthusiastic, positive and always reassuring. This process was that of an emotional one for me as I lot my mother to cancer a few years ago. It was tough planning my wedding without her - Cody has been such a huge support system for me in this arena. She even came up with creative ways to include my mother in my wedding celebration! Furthermore, I do not live in the immediate Charlottesville area so this the logistics have been slightly tricky. Cody has really gone above and beyond for our wedding! She has been more than accomodating of scheduling appointments with vendors in one day while we came into town as well as keeping in touch with us frequently throughout this process. She always made it a point to keep us involved.
Cody was able to keep us organized and on track without getting us overwhelmed. She has also been able to help us save money in selecting our vendors throughout this process and has been worth every penny that we paid for her to help on our special day! We also used some unique things from her collection which really brought out the theme throughout the wedding.

Cody was the best wedding planner I could have asked for. Initially, I felt that I would only need a day-of -wedding planner, but she was instrumental in finding the right caterer, florist, organist and officiant. She was a perfect wedding planner. She had great suggestions, for which I am very grateful. She compensated for things I did not account for, and would never have known to take it into consideration unless the situation arises, since I had no prior experience in getting married or planning every detail of a wedding.
Cody was well organized. The wedding and the reception was fantastic and went according as planned because Cody orchestrated it all between my guests and all the vendors. Of all the decisions I made as a bride - hiring Cody was the best one I made. She will make you feel organized, supported, and calm throughout the process, and she'll make your wedding look lovelier than you can possibly imagine. I was recently married at Castle Hill Cider in Keswick, VA. Planning my event was a bit of a challenge because I live in Seattle, WA. Cody was instrumental in helping me identify the best vendors, negotiate the best prices, and plan all the special touches that left my guests thoroughly impressed and my husband and I with the picture perfect wedding of our dreams.
She listened to all my ideas and helped to enhance them and she executed every detail flawlessly.
I arrived earlier in the day for photos and as I walked from the ceremony site to the cocktail site to the reception site I couldn't believe my eyes. Even though I had helped to imagine it - there were beautiful details everywhere! I know a lot of people love her collection, and it truly is an amazing perk...but its her styling ability that makes everything come together.
As the guests began to arrive - so did the clouds, and about 15 minutes before my outdoor wedding ceremony we had a huge thunderstorm and had to re-arrange. Cody was prepared - and had prepared me - and swung into action. She had a great idea of reversing the cocktail hour and the ceremony to welcome the guests and give the rain a chance to subside while she prepped the second location just in case. Of course...the rain kept coming. Truth be told, I think it worked out great because I walked down a candle lit aisle in one of the most intimate and romantic settings imaginable.
I'll never forget my first look photos taken outside with a backdrop of streamers (before the rain), walking down the candle lit aisle, or walking into the reception location for the first time. I don't remember being frantic, rushed, or pulled in a bunch of different directions - because I wasn't. I was able to relax and enjoy my day and the day was filled with beautiful details. And, I'm not sure either of those things would be as true if it weren't for Cody.
I could write a book on how great she is, how cool it was to pick items from her rustic and vintage wedding collection, how much my friends and family loved her, etc., etc.,..but hopefully you'll get to work with her and find out for yourself soon enough.

Amore Events by Cody was an amazing and professional help with our daughter's wedding. Cody had so many ideas and was so helpful in guiding us along "the wedding path" and ensuring we didn't miss any important points of wedding etiquette. She answered every email, text or phone call immediately. We had a tremendous storm the day before the wedding - the tent blew over, the lights that had been strung were broken and there wasn't any water or power at our venue. Cody and our family pitched in, cleaned up the place on the day of the wedding; we used generators and tiki torches to light the way - our wedding was outside - which really didn't matter since there wasn't any power....but, Cody pulled off the entire wedding without a hitch. We had a brilliant time - the tent was lite up with lights, fans - the DJ, Cody recommended, was excellent and DuCard Vineyard, where the wedding was held, were just so flexible and again - excellent. I would highly recommend Cody for any occasion - she is friendly, flexible, compassionate, patient and very organized.

What initially attracted me to Cody was her wedding inventory, especially her "cornhole" games....and everything else! I was looking for a day-of wedding coordinator, but I got so much more. She went above and beyond what I expected of her. Like the mess I had to deal with one of the hotels that I had a block of rooms with (they over-booked and we still didn't have all of our guaranteed rooms)....Cody contacted the manager and had even made a personal visit because of the non-responsiveness we were dealing with. She did the dirty work that I didn't want to do! As for our wedding day, I couldn't have been happier with her. From the beginning of my wedding planning, I was focused on the details. Cody knew what kind of theme/look I was going for and she ran with the idea. Of course, it wasn't hard when I loved everything from her inventory. I told Cody she could use whatever she wanted for decorating and details. It was so easy to trust her with the look of my wedding. Everything turned out beautifully, like it was a picture out of a bridal magazine! It's been about 3 weeks since our wedding, and people are still telling me how amazing our wedding was and people really noticed the details. Like the bars made out of wine barrels and a rustic door as a table! I could not have done it without Cody. What I got was piece of mind that I wouldn't have to worry about all the details on the day of my wedding...and that's priceless. Oh, and I can't forget to mention how she saved me hundreds of $$ as she offered to pick up the flowers from my florist and brought her own mason jars and shepherds hooks to my florist to use. I really could go on and on about how amazing Cody was! I keep thinking of how using her as my day-of wedding coordinator was the best money I ever spent on my wedding. And, I feel like I gained a new friend in all of it!

Cody is really wonderful. She was super helpful, professional, and friendly. Cody went out of her way to do us favors which really made us feel like she cared about us and our special day :) She helped us get a great rate on flowers, hooked us up with free chairs, etc...
Cody was also a really great help on the wedding day itself. She setup the entire reception by herself, and still made sure all of our vendors were doing what they were supposed to. I would recommend her to anybody!
Cody put her heart into making our wedding beautiful and worked really hard to make everything run smoothly and to keep everyone happy. Cody planned my September 2011 wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia. I initially hired her for "Day Of" services but she wound up doing so much more!
I never thought I'd be the kind of person to hire a Wedding Planner. I like to think of myself as low maintenance and pretty organized. However, everyone I talked to (past brides, friends, family) said the additional help would be worth both the money and the peace of mind.
They were completely right. Cody fulfilled so many roles in the months leading up to my wedding: ringmaster, negotiator, investigator, financial advisor, cheerleader, and confidant. She balances professionalism with warmth and adapts to your personal style. Ever-organized, she provides suggestions but is never pushy and genuinely takes an interest in you and your wedding.
I interviewed several other planners - some of them with flashier websites and more well-known names - before landing on Cody. I'm so glad I chose the path I did. Not only are her rates more reasonable, she saved me hundreds (if not more) in vendor fees with her cost-cutting suggestions. Plus, she was way more down-to-earth and sweet than anyone I met.

Working with Amore Events by Cody was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding preparations. We had our wedding ceremony in one of the Pavilion Gardens at UVA and the reception at King Family Vineyard in Crozet. This meant that Cody had to work with two sites on one day, coordinating décor, table and chair placement, transportation and guest arrival, wedding vendor timelines and all of our special requests on top of these. When we met Cody we already had relatively specific ideas in place for our wedding. We were blown away by Cody’s ability to take those ideas and make them a reality with results that were even more beautiful than we had envisioned. We found Cody to be generous with her time, responding quickly to any concerns we had and always making the effort to ensure that we were communicating clearly. Amore Events by Cody is also one of the few wedding professionals we found to be truly concerned with our budget. I cannot say enough about Cody Grannis of Amore Events. At every step of the way she offered wonderful advice and had great ideas about everything from the big stuff, to all the little details. Cody is that terrific combination of being extremely easy going yet incredibly organized. She kept us on track with timelines, coordinated between the vendors, and did all of those things we wouldn’t have thought or known to do. Our wedding was supposed to be outside, but due to bad weather, it had to be moved inside at the last minute. If she can do that then there is nothing she cannot do!
From beginning to end Cody was worth her weight in gold. She really listened to our vision of what we wanted, assembled a great team, and found endless and creative ways to stay within budget and on time. From a Wedding Officiant's point of view, I found Cody to be fun to work with, but also really on top of things. She stays cool, calm and collected through to the end. At a wedding at which I officiated this past weekend, the flowers that the bride and bridesmaids had arranged the night before the wedding, were dead, the day of--frozen to death in an overly cold refrigerator, I believe. Cody spent several hours combing the Charlottesville area for fresh flowers that would "go" with the bridesmaids' turquoise dresses. Her choice--yellow tulips--was a good one--simple but elegant--simply elegant.
I will certainly count myself blessed if I have the opportunity to work with Cody again. By the way, although her business is only several years old, she has been in the event planning business for many years--working for UVA.

Amore Events by Cody offers a unique collection of wedding décor, which sets us apart from our competitors. Free access to all these decorations and flourishes is offered to Amore Brides who book partial- or full-planning packages. We have spent countless hours researching and purchasing items and we are constantly adding to our collection. Most of our brides take advantage of this opportunity to further save time and money. For brides that book our Wedding Day Management Package, our décor is available for rent.
How the Decor Works
Amore Events staff will help you select items from our collection to tie into your aesthetic, vision and venue. With our vast experience at many Charlottesville-area venues, we’ll be able to make recommendations for décor and aesthetic to transform the location into the perfect space for your wedding.
On your wedding day, we will transport your selected items to the venue and handle all set-up and break-down of these items at no additional cost. Many brides believe that purchasing their own décor will save them money and they forget the fact that they then need to find someone to bring and set it all up, often relying on a parent or close friend. About Your Planner
Cody Grannis is an award-winning, certified International Event and Wedding Professional (IEWP), holding certificates in Non-Profit Management and Meeting and Event Planning from the University of Virginia. She spent six years planning large-scale events at the University of Virginia before developing Amore Events by Cody. She is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) and the Orange County Chamber of Commerce. Cody also employs a staff of planners and consultants who contribute to her team of event professionals.
