Disappointed. Advice for hiring a wedding photographer: Don't hire them based on recommendations, online pics, how nice they are, b/c that doesn't mean they'll take great pics of you. Meet them in person, make sure they will listen to you & they'll give you the best pictures possible of your day. ALWAYS get engagement pictures taken, they are the trial run for your wedding day!
Amy did not seem to understand what we wanted from the very beginning. At all. She didn’t listen. The pictures were simply sub par. We had 2 engagement sessions to try to get things right….out of 300 pictures, we liked 10. Same with our wedding pictures, we liked 30 out of 1000.
To Amy’s credit, she really did try, and went above & beyond to take pictures that we would like. She asked for examples of shots that I liked, so I sent her approximately 30 shots that I thought would look awesome. She took 0 of those. Waste of time. Lastly, you must trust your photographer. Amy lied to us in our 1st conversation when she told us she had shot weddings at our church before. One week before the wedding (ONE WEEK) she told us our wedding would be the first at our church, and that she & her photographers would show up 15-30 minutes prior to look at the site. My normally calm DH hit the roof!! He could not believe that anyone who is a professional would not want to meet with the bride & groom at the venue before the wedding! Amy did take some pictures that we liked, none of them were “wow” shots. I have to say my absolute favorites would have to be the shots of our first dance with the DJ set up/speaker equipment as our backdrop in every picture(instead of the beautiful ballroom or maybe even our friends and family?). Wow. Sorry it was so hard for you to cross to the other side of the dance floor, Amy!! Don’t make the same mistake we did…we should have hired another photographer.

Amy seemed a bit scattered when we first started working with her but it is nothing to worry about! Her pictures are great and not over edited! She includes 3 copies of the discs as part of the package which was awesome! She was really quick getting the pictures back to us and she is very nice! Very happy!

Amy was absolutely amazing to work with. She put up with our crazy, disorganized families on the day of the wedding, never batting an eye. She was organized and professional. And she was quick in posting preview photos! We had access to them on facebook within days of our wedding! I loved every single picture. I wish I lived closer to Charleston so I could hire Amy again!

I am so pleased with our wedding pictures! Amy is the nicest person and made sure to get all the pictures on our list, and then some! I also hired her second photographer, Buddy, who was really fun to have around other than being an awesome photographer as well! I am so glad that both of them were a part of our wedding! Everyone has raved about the pictures, and she got them back to me before we got back from our honeymoon, which was a fabulous suprise in the mail!

I can't even describe how much of a blessing Amy was for our wedding! We found her early 2010 and booked after much deliberation. For the price, our package was amazing and we were given the rights to our pictures as opposed to paying per print. For a comparable package by another, less expensive photographer it would have been over $2000 and with no rights.
But we didn't have to sacrifice in quality. Amy did both my bridals and the wedding day, and pending me actually scheduling it, our newlywed shoot. She's just been fantastic, does great work, and made my life as a bride so much easier.

Amy has been great to work with! Her photography is amazing and she truly captures those little details that you probably wouldn't remember. I love her ability to capture candid shots and think she is a wonderful photographer!
