My wedding day went smoothly thanks to An Urban Affair. I have already recommended them to my bride-to-be friends.
My fiance and I had not attended many weddings prior to ours and it was very helpful to have someone to ask advice and just bounce our ideas off of. Ellen helped keep us on track with our planning and really made our day perfect. Ellen and Marcia are extremely professional and having them there on my wedding day let me focus on the important things and not sweat the small stuff.
At first my wife and I were going to plan our wedding ourselves, hoping to create an event that reflected us uniquely. The sheer number of moving parts made the process difficult, so we called in Marcia from An Urban Affair. She and Ellen were responsive, organized, on the ball, and in a word, superstars. They quickly understood and embraced our vision, thought of all the little details we would have missed, pointed us to vendors who suited us perfectly, and advocated for us wonderfully. They were able to get better prices than we ever could, it probably saved us money to hire them in the end, not to mention the fact they were more than worth their fee simply by themselves. The wedding went off wonderfully, and we have many thanks to give them for the fantastic job they did.

Marcia is hands down the BEST wedding planner in the city (and my mom and I met with SEVERAL others before deciding on Marcia)! Marcia was extremely organized during the entire planning process. She would respond to my millions of emails immediately. She completely understood my "vision" from the moment we met; after that, she basically knew exactly what I wanted even before I did! Our wedding exceeded our wildest dreams and though we loved all our vendors, my husband I feel very strongly that Marcia is truly the person to thank for our perfect day! Marcia and the team at An Urban Affair did an exceptional job preparing me for my wedding and easing my mind as Day of Planners. They did an amazing job on the actual wedding day- rolling with the punches or rain and hail while and making me feel like a queen. I really enjoyed that I was able to focus on my new husband, my family and friends instead of worrying about details.
What was even more helpful was the use of her portfolio and expert advice to find vendors and receive first hand references.

Marcia and her staff at An Urban Affair truly made my wedding a seamless day for the entire wedding party. As the bride, I was concerned with remembering last-minute details and having to put together a schedule for my wedding day, but the staff at an Urban Affair took all my worries away. Her timelines, vendor recommendations and overall responsiveness made the choices I did have to make easy and fun.
Marcia, the owner, was nothing but professional the entire time we worked together and went above and beyond the scope of her role many times. She was upbeat but realistic and we really enjoyed the time we spent with her. She knew exactly where to place her staff on the wedding day and no matter if it was the church, my condo, my parent's home or the trolley, Marcia had someone there to help and direct. It was a perfect day! And Marcia and An Urban Affair really helped to make that possible. She is not pretentious or snotty, which are some of the characteristics I found in other wedding planners during the screening process. I cannot say enough great things about Marcia and her staff. Marcia and her team were absolutely wonderful to work with. I was thrilled that I found her and couldnt have asked for someone better to work with. We met early on in my planning stages and then again a month or so prior to the wedding. She went above and beyond not only on the day of our wedding but during the planning stages. When I was having a hard time getting an overall idea for what the room/ flowers she went with me to meet with my florist. She contacted everyone of my vendors and met for my final walk thru when I was unable to attend. She offered great advice when needed. She is professional, friendly and very knowlegeable. Her team was wonderful as well on the day of our wedding. We had assistants helping with every part of the day. There was someone with me the entire day whether it was when I was getting ready, at the church or in the bus when we were taking pictures around the city. Marcia and her team were always one step ahead and I did not have to worry about a thing on our wedding day- which is exactly what I was hoping for in a DOC.

I cannot say enough good things about An Urban Affair. I used the "day of coordination" but it was so much more than that. This has to be, hands down, the best day of coordination package for the money. Marcia kept up monthly with me and made sure I was on track with all of the things I needed to have done. They gave me a personalized to do list by month so I knew I was covering everything I needed to. Three months before we had an "update meeting" and from that point they really start helping you to make sure all your contracts are in order and your vendors know what is going on. I honestly know that I could not have planned my wedding, and had such a phenomenal time the day of, without all of her help.
Marcia was a godsend. She has the perfect demeanor for wedding planning, always taking everything as seriously as expected, but also laid back with a great sense of humor. She does a beautiful job understanding and accomodating both bride's and groom's perspective and needs, which I feel is a rare gift. A friend recommended An Urban Affair for day-of wedding coordination services. My family doesn't attend a lot of weddings; I had a blended family, a tight schedule during the evening and a million little details to coordinate between the band, the schedule, three families' worth of pictures and many other critical points I never even thought of. Marcia and Kate at AUA were an absolutely godsend. Our wedding went off (almost) flawlessly and I give most of the credit to these ladies. For a wedding novice, their services were by far the best investment we could have made in planning a successful wedding.

- Luxe Coordination, hands-on guidance from a professional consultant, beginning with a budget consultation, followed by a customized planning timeline for you to follow, with a monthly check-in email detailing your “to do’s” for that month, budget & style specific vendor recommendations, tips & tricks to help with interviewing vendors, and your consultant will be available to answer any questions that come up during your planning. This way, you still experience the whole process, with a expert at the ready to guide you every step of the way.
- The Finishing Touch, day of coordination at its best. We will contact you 2-3 months prior to your wedding to go over all the fabulous plans you’ve made, collecting copies of your contracts, asking about the details and advising on the flow of the day.
