Anne Marie D'Arcy Photography and Video

I picked Anne Marie because she had such high reviews on wedding wire but I am so disappointed in what I got. She did my bridal portraits and the wedding.

First, I loved my bridal portraits but was surprised that only 20 were edited out of a two hour session.

Now the actual wedding, I felt like she didn't want to be there at all. During the last dance with my husband, I saw her sitting at a table looking at her camera so there were no pictures of our last dance. She hardly took any posed pictures of the bridal party or of me and my husband so I have very little to chose from that I can actually display. She rushed through the formals to the point that several family members remarked on it and felt her mannerisms were rude. There are no pictures of the grounds or of the little wedding details that I tried to put together. ( i.e. center pieces, tables, candles etc). And most disappointingly, there is not a picture of the groom when he saw me for the first time. Anyone who has ever gotten married knows what a blur the day is and it was really important to me to have pictures to remember every detail.

The pictures she is calling "final" don't look like they've been edited at all. There are blemishes on many of them that I ended up have to edit out myself and on several of them, the grooms eyes are closed! I would never consider a picture with closed eyes to be final. Additionally, several of the pictures look blurry, and not in an artistic way but in an out of focus way.

Anne Marie is very nice but overall, I could not be more disappointed. Out of the 250 "edited" pictures, there were maybe 5 that I really liked. So incredibly disappointed that these amateur looking photos are all I have to look back on my wedding day. I feel like I could've paid a friend to take the pictures and ended up with the same quality for a lot less money.

I found Anne Marie by googling photographers in the Houston area. I put the fate of my wedding photography in her hands because I didn't have any referrals to any other photographers in the Houston area. I'm so glad I did! Anne Marie photographed our engagement, my bridal and our wedding ceremony. She was very professional and so much fun at the same time. The pictures came out better than I expected and she let us express some artistic notions of our own as well. She always encouraged us to have fun. She was always responsive when I needed her and the value of service was amazing. We got the most expensive package which really wasn't expensive compared to the other photography packages in Houston. She was always very flexible with me even if I had to cancel or reschedule at the last minute. She was always very nice and professional but wasn't scared to tell me what she thought would look great and what probably wouldn't look as good in terms of poses, etc. I was very happy for her honesty and professionalism. She is worth far more than she charges. I would recommend Anne Marie to ANYONE and will refer anyone who is looking for a photographer to Anne Marie. I hired Anne Marie for my bridal, engagement portraits and my wedding day photography as well as her second photographer Jasmine. they were awesome! They were nice, patient, organized and professional. My portraits look like they came out of a magazine. Anne Marie was a phenomenal choice! We are so glad we chose her to photograph our wedding and that she didn't cost our entire budget! She has great prices and produces excellent work! Anne Marie was a delight to work with and she was on-time and ready to go at the engagement/bridal/wedding photo shoots. She's not afraid to tell you if your photo idea is not the best and she did have some awesome suggestions. That being said, I would be sure to know what types of photos you want - or you might not get them (such as individuals with your bridesmaids/groomsmen). The bridal/wedding photos were turned around quickly, but the engagement photos took awhile. She usually was prompt in answering an email or answering/returning a phone call. She took and we received thousands of raw pictures with hundreds of edits. Just pick and choose what you want to print - definitely the way to go.

My daughter had her 15 birthday in June.It was like a mini-wedding. I got photo and video and Anne Marie provided excellent service. Anne Marie and her team were puntual, professional, responsive, and attentive. The pictures she took were out of this world, she made my daughter look like a model. She capture every special moment. I would definently use her again and recomend her to anyone. If you were thinking of using Anne Marie i would definently say YES!

Anne Marie did an amazing our engagement photos and my bridal portraits. Unfortunately, Anne Marie was unavailable on my wedding date so I hired another photographer. Sadly, the other photographer’s photos do not even come close to the beautiful creative photos Anne Marie gave us. I am so thankful I did my bridals with Anne Marie because I have photos of myself in my wedding dress that I absolutely love. Anne Marie was very professional, courteous and overall such a pleasure to work with.

Anne Marie is AMAZING. I found her on wedding wire and was blown away by her beautiful photos. I was shocked to see that she was within my price range, and knew I wanted to book her even before I met her. Anne Marie was the perfect photographer for our wedding. We had an outdoor wedding at our house and wanted a lot of photos that were casual, unobtrusive, but told the story of our special day. Anne Marie provided all of that. She also was very flexible for scheduling and we have already recommended her to friends for a variety of pictures.

I used this photographer for my wedding and I was very disappointed when we got the pictures back. There were no pictures of my dad and I walking down the isle. Isn't that supposed to be one of the most important pictures of the day? So many shots were missed all night and barely any pictures of my mom or dad were taken throughout the evening, no details of the reception were taken (excet for the cake) and even after pictures of just my husband and I were missing. What makes it even worse is, we paid for an extra photographer so they wouldn't miss anything! If you do decide to use this photographer, I highly recommend telling her EXACTLY what pictures you want, otherwise you will miss some great moments of your wedding, like I did. Your wedding happens once and unfortunately, I cannot go back and "retake" any. On a slightly positive note, I was pretty happy with my bridal portraits. Good Luck!

I really love Anne Marie. She is very down to earth, sweet and makes you feel comfortable. She did my bridals and I was sooo amazed i looked like i could be in a magazine! And I am a bigger girl and she shot my body in ways to make me feel more beautiful! She also shot my wedding day, she did great because it was like she wasn't even there....and got everyone that was there. The whole DVD that she put together was really neat. Me and my Husband were totally happy with her! she was our favorite Vendor for our entire wedding! I highly reccomend her and I know you will be happy :)

Anne Marie is AAAAMMAZING! Loved her! Her work is unique, fresh, classic and beautiful. We couldn't be happier with our pictures from our special day. She also did a wonderful job on my bridals. Not only did she do a great job taking photos, she did a great job with our guests. Our reception turned into quite the party, and as Anne Marie was trying to capture all the fun, she was sat on by someone mid dance off. She laughed it off and went right back to taking pictures. Anne Marie takes fantastic pictures! She is a wonderful photographer and very nice. Her prices are really great, much lower than most photographers we looked at. Specifically the time included (8 hrs I think) and the cost of a second photographer made her the most affordable by far.

We did have a few issues. We did not get our link to a slideshow until 4 weeks after the wedding and we didn't get the CDs of all the photos until 8 weeks. When we did get the CD with photos, we could not get it to work on our PC (brand new). We had to load them onto my parents Apple computer in order to convert the format of the photos, then transfer them to our computer with a USB. We would not have seen any pictures (besides the slideshow) without the Apple. Lastly, we did not receive any photos of the groom/groomsmen pre-ceremony session. A few of these pictures were included in the slideshow, so we know these pictures exist, but I don't think we will ever get them.

She did tell us she was very busy and overwhelmed with weddings right now, so some of these issues could be from that. I think her business has grown too big for just her to handle, and she might benefit from hiring a behind the scenes person to help with the business side of things.

Anne Marie is a great photographer and we will have wonderful pictures for the rest of our lives! I don't mean to complain, but we did have a few issues with the business side of this vendor.

Anne Marie shot my bridals, our engagements and our wedding. She was very prompt on getting our pictures to us and even sent me some prints from my bridal portraits. My mom absolutely adored Anne Marie! I absolutely loved how she captured so many details of our wedding. Her and her assistant shot over 1500 pictures on our wedding day alone!! I was very pleased with her work and would recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. Her prices were also very reasonable and definately worth every cent!!!! Anne Marie did a beautiful job on our Engagement photos she gave us lots of variety by going to several locations and also by using the elements around us. Anne Marie Darcy is the most UNPROFESSIONAL photographer one could come across. AVOID HER. There were so many issues with her that I do not even know where to begin. First, the most important day of my life (my Wedding Day), as a groom, was close to ruined because of this photographer. She left before the wedding was even close to finished. She decided to leave without notice at 9 p.m. when the wedding lasted until 11 p.m. We were given a written contract that she was providing “full day coverage.” She is terrible and would never recommend her to anyone I actually cared about. Further, I am Vietnamese and we have customs and traditions that are very precious to us. One of these customs is that the bride wear an “ao dai” (Vietnamese dress). We informed Anne Marie that my wife would be changing into her Vietnamese dress and we WANTED pictures of it. Nope. Anne Marie decided to leave before my wife could change into it. Therefore, we have NO photographs of my wife in her Vietnamese dress. Needless to say as a professional (I am a CPA) she is about as far as you can be from a professional anything. She also yelled at my wife’s sister for being irate that Anne Marie’s “flash ran out.” Yes – you heard me right, her “flash” ran out. No, our wedding did not take place during the 1920’s. It was 2010! How is she so unprepared? Ask her. So to sum up, she pissed everyone that is close to me off. She made our Wedding Coordinator at an incredibly nice hotel (Hotel Avia) mad. She is the worst photographer you could come across. And to be honest, some of the pictures she took were very good. However, If you want to avoid this trouble, get someone else. I am also not afraid to post who I am. We will be taking her to small claims court. My name is Son Han, CPA. My e-mail address is sonhan.ut@gmail.com. We signed a contract with her to save some money, I regret it now. My wife and I are now hiring ANOTHER photographer to re-do our wedding pictures. We will be going back to the Hotel and re-doing my wife’s makeup so that we have more than 3 pictures of us and pictures of my wife in her Vietnamese dress. This sucks, I promise you. It’s more money and more time.

Anne Marie has been to my ranch in Wharton County several times and taken stunning photos of my beloved Longhorn cattle and children on horses ambling through fields of tall grass and black eyed susans. She spots the magic in a moment, then creates visual poems that are timeless and priceless.
