Annie ONeill Photography
Annie was the ideal photographer from start to finish. She was very responsive, incredibly creative, and always on the lookout for little things here and there to make our big day better. Annie is not the type of person to sit back and just take pictures - she is on her feet around the clock looking for the perfect shot and trying to make the best of every second.
After the wedding, my wife and I felt that we would have wanted Annie there, camera or not, just because of the great energy she brought to the event. Her positivity and outward excitement helped to make our wedding care-free, fun, and beautifully documented!
To say Annie was amazing is an understatement. Not only were the lines of communication always open, be it phone or email, but she took all of the stress out of organizing this part of our wedding. Since we were planning for a wedding in one city from another, this was a huge help. But more than that, she did what a lot of other people don't: she listened. By getting to know us through casual conversations about non-wedding-related things (like life, work, family, friends), she really got who we were as people and as a couple. This allowed her to suggest locations and set-ups for the photographs that were totally us without feeling stiff, stodgy, or silly. And when we suggested a spot for photographs (like at a bowling alley that was important to us and our relationship history), Annie not only agreed to go there for photos, she ran with the idea and we have great pictures that completely encapsulate the fun of our wedding day and the importance of that place to us.
Annie was a godsend for us, and she (and her partner, Lake) endeared herself to our friends, families, and guests. The two things people raved about after the wedding? The food and Annie. Across the board, everyone loved her — beginning with us. The photos are beautiful — how could they not be? She's an incredible photographer who approaches things with a photojournalist's eye, which was exactly what we wanted in a wedding photographer. But Annie was more than that to us. She really was an important part of our wedding day, and we can't imagine our wedding without her as a part of it. We were very lucky to have her there, and we're really lucky to now have her in our lives.
The quality and the warmth of the photos helped capture this very special occassion. Annie became part of the event and enhanced the experience for everyone. I highly recommned Annie ONeill to capture the beauty and essence of any event.
We were so happy to have found Annie and Nancy. I had looked at a lot of photographers in the area and decided what kind of photography I wanted, a mix of posed and photo journalistic, and that I wanted to photographers during the wedding to get a mix of guests and us. I had picked up a card for Annie at the location we choose for our wedding and couldn't wait to get home to look at her website. I was really pleased with what I saw and we decided that she would do our engagement photos before we committed to booking her for the wedding. After getting back our engagement pictures we knew we needed to book Annie as soon as possible. In the weeks before our wedding the extra mile Annie goes to making sure you get what you want from your pictures really began to show. She first asked for a list of "must have pictures" and discussed with us how that would work into our time schedule (we had our ceremony and reception at the same location, cutting down on time between the two). Then she carefully planned out when she would be there and start taking pictures allowing me to organize family and wedding party. The night of the rehearsal I was shocked to turn around and see Annie there with her camera walking through all of various ceremony locations (we had an outdoor ceremony with two rain plans). She stayed for each location to see where we would be standing and guests would be seated. Of all of the weddings I have been in/to and friends that have gotten married I had never heard them say their photographer came to the rehearsal. This step to me was above and beyond and really showed when we got our pictures back. In the end our pictures were beautiful and we get compliments all of the time when people see them, including complete strangers.
I can not recommend Annie and Nancy highly enough. We have had some professional pictures taken since and while they were nice, we always find ourselves comparing them to the ones Annie took. If we ever find ourselves back in the Pittsburgh area or Michigan and need photos taken I will not even look for anyone else to take the photos. We couldn't have asked for better pictures and would and do highly recommend Annie to anyone looking for a photographer.
There is not enough great things to say about Annie. We love her! Everyone at our wedding loved her - people are still (3 months later) calling and commenting about the wonderful photographer we had. There was not a moment missed!!! My husband and I both feel that her presence at our wedding added to so much of the beauty of the day. She was a calm warm friendly presence that was not a photographer but apart of our family. She met and captured everyone.
She has been described as a ninja, by my husband of course, because whenever it was time for a picture, there she was, snapping away and then disappearing into the shadows. My father in law said she was like a bird flying all around. The same applies for Nancy. What a team!!!! We were so lucky to find them!!!! I look at my wedding pictures allllllllll the time!!!! I love them, the pictures and Annie and Nancy!!!!
I can't say enough about Annie. Throughout the entire wedding planning she was a source of my sanity. She was always there for me, beyond what any photographer would do. Even after the wedding. She has completely touched our lives. Annie is the best photographer, person and friend!!!!! I would love to offer any other feedback to anyone - my email is email@example.com
Annie was absolutely amazing!! My wife and I could not have asked for a more enjoyable experience! She met with us multiple times before the ceremony to capture all of the information she could on the feel of the wedding and what we were looking for out of our photography experience.
At the wedding, she brought an assistant, Nancy, with her to capture every moment of the day. They arrived 3 hours before the wedding to take pictures of us getting ready separately, and took some beautiful shots we may not have had otherwise. Having the two photographers also gave us different perspectives on the events, such as an aerial view of the wedding and intimate close-ups of the ceremony. Rather than having to run back and forth and missing potential moments, having both present captured everything. Annie and Nancy stayed until the very end of the reception, and even offered to stay for the bonfire afterward to take more pictures. She never pressured us on time or gave a set hour rate- she was there to capture the entire experience no matter what time the festivities ended.
Most importantly, in my opinion, she was the antithesis of many other photography agencies we've had experiences with. She never encouraged us to pose oddly for any photos and was more concerned about capturing a natural moment than a forced one. As a result, our pictures were amazing and truly showed the joy of the day. She was definitely worth every penny!
Annie was fantastic to work with. She sought our input, took time to get to know us and understand what we wanted and the photos turned out better than we could have hoped.
Annie was beyond perfect and we'll never be able to find the right words to describe how beautifully her pictures tell the story of our wedding. You couldnt ask for a better person to work with either!
Annie was there capturing every moment but was never "in the way" as I have heard other brodes say about the photographers they had. We had family members who didn't shed one tear during the entire wedding, crying their eyes out watching the slideshow of our wedding pictures!! We will never be able to thank her enough for everything. When it comes to a wedding the photographs are what you will have 20,30,50 years later and Annie has made stunning memories for us!!! We cannot say enough wonderful things about her. I wish that every bride could have her as their photographer on their wedding day!!!
Annie and Nancy was just the perfect modern photographers. They were extremely dedicated to capturing every detail, non-intrusive, and so professional and nice. We had a blast having them photograph for us, and the pictures are truly wonderful. I really don't think you can find people with better equipment, experience, skill and true enthusiasm. I'd recommend them to anyone, but be sure to contact them early as they get booked quickly!
Annie was wonderful. She was so easy to work with and really made taking pictures fun. Our pictures are amazing and really tell a story. We can relive our wedding day everytime we look at the pictures. Our guests commented on how the photographers never missed anything and we had 500 guests at our wedding. We also had a photo booth and that was just great. Our guests had so much fun with that and it was great way to have pictures of our guests. We had so much fun at our wedding and Annie captured every moment of it.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Annie! Finding a good photographer is one of the best investments you can make for your wedding, because those pictures will be around forever. You want to work with someone who is respectful of what you want, and that really adds a positive vibe to your whole wedding experience. Working with Annie was a pleasure throughout the entire process.
We got married in Pittsburgh, though both of us live in NYC, so we found her through WeddingWire. She was so friendly and willing to work with us to understand what we wanted. She even came over to our apartment in NY to meet us in person after the initial phone call because she happened to be visiting the city over a weekend. She made us feel at ease right away, and her helpfulness with planning a long-distance wedding (she knows everybody in Pittsburgh!) was also great. She recommended a videographer for us, and even made multiple phone calls and spoke to everybody she knew to help us find a wedding officiant! That kind of helpfulness and flexibility were some of the things that made working with her such a positive experience.
Another thing we appreciated was that Annie really does her research on your venue and the wedding party and family. She even came to the rehearsal to scope out the space and made sure she knew who the key people were. On the actual day, she and Nancy both arrived over an hour earlier than their contracted time to take pictures while we were getting ready, and stayed until the very end. Nancy even showed up at the hotel and was taking pictures of us as we were returning after the reception was over! Annie was creative with her pictures and had fun with the wedding party (the wedding was at a museum, so we had fun posing around sculptures and other artwork), and was also really tactful of family situations (divorced parents).
During the ceremony and the reception, she and Nancy got pictures of everybody there - they weren't just following the bride and groom around, and they got beautiful, touching, and sometimes hilarious, shots of family members and guests. She managed to capture every emotion during the day and her photos reflect her photojournalism background - they tell a "story". It never felt intrusive though - they weren't "in your face" at all. She was also extremely quick with the follow up - first a slideshow, and then the whole collection of digital proofs. Absolutely everybody who was seen her work has told us how amazing her photos are and what a great choice she was - people even told us that looking at her work brought tears to their eyes because the images were so touching.
Annie is cheerful and upbeat, incredibly talented and professional, and I would highly recommend her!
My wife and I got married in July and we couldn't have been happier with Annie. Not only were the photographs amazing, but she also spent a great deal of time talking with us to plan out the best places to take the photos and to figure out exactly what look we wanted them to have. Annie even spent some of her own time scouting out different locations and backup locations for us to take the pictures. So far we have received all of our digital proofs and a hard copy of the proofs, both of which Annie gave to us in very nicely presented boxes. We should be receiving our album soon and we know it will be amazing. Thaks again Annie for everything.
Words cannot describe how much I love our wedding pictures! Annie did an amazing job capturing every moment of our wedding. When we got our proofs I felt like I was reliving the whole day. Annie was great about meeting with us to go over any questions we had, plan out our timeline of the day and get to know us as a couple. I would recommend Annie to anyone. She truly is an amazing photographer and knows how to capture the moment. Thank you Annie for giving us gorgeous wedding pictures, we could not have asked for any more!!
My husband and I got married in Detroit, MI. Funny enough-- neither one of us is from Detroit and were at a loss when it came to finding vendors. We somehow stumbled upon Annie O'Neill Photography and I'm so glad we did! At our first meeting, Annie was extremely professional yet warm and compassionate. She explained how she takes great pride in capturing the emotion of the wedding day. It was clear by her sample pictures that she did just that. As great as her formal pictures were, it was the impromtu moments that she captured that drew us to her.
After booking - Annie was eager to get our vision for our day. She took it upon herself to get to know Mike and I better. She even came out to DC (where we live) to shoot our engagement photos at no additional cost! We had so much fun that day and it was clear we made a good choice.
Over the course of the planning process, Annie was very responsive to my many emails that were filled with questions, ideas and concerns. She was always very open-minded to my ideas and made me feel like all my questions were valid!
As the wedding drew closer, she even agreed to attend and shot pictures at our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. She said she likes to attend the rehearsal because it gives her a chance to get to know the wedding party and relatives. This is just a testament to how much pride she takes in her work and doing an outstanding job. At the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner- she reached out and was warm and friendly to our guests. Our guests were already raving about her -- even after the rehearsal!
At the last minute, she said she'd come to the salon on Saturday morning to take a few pictures of us getting ready. This was not originally agreed upon when we negotiated the contract, but she could tell it was important to us and made herself available. After the salon - she went to the venue (Detroit Athletic Club) to meet with our even coordinator and check lighting in a variety of locations. She had already been to the club a few months back to scope everything out.
On the day of - Annie and her team were calm, cool and collected. We got through all our pictures in a timely manner and from what I've seen so far she captured SO much emotion, excitement and fun from our day. Annie was also the last person to leave our reception with us at midnight! Unlike most photographers we met with who only wanted to stay until 10 or so, Annie wanted to capture the fun of the night progressing -- -she did just that and I think she had some fun herself:)
I would highly recommend Annie O'Neill Photography!!! I cannot say enough good things about her. In fact, my husband and I plan on doing a portrait session with her on our anniversary every year!
Annie was one of the most positive experiences of my wedding. My husband and I were completely comfortable with Annie and her team. So many things happen the day of your wedding its hard to remember it all. When I looked at all the pictures Annie took it brought tears to my eyes because each photograph is a memory. I could look at a certain picture and remember exactly what I was thinking and how I was feeling. Being able capture such emotion is hard for photographers but Annie has completely mastered this. She tells a story through her pictures, so friends and family who weren't able to make it to our wedding truly feel like they were apart of the day when they see the pictures. Having Annie O'Neill has your wedding photographer will be one of the best decisions you can make. She makes the entire experience so pleasurable and personable... I have been married for six months now and I still stay in touch with Annie. Everything about this woman, her team, and their work is nothing short of outstanding! I can't wait for her to photograph future events for my family!
Professional, hard-working and made us look like movie stars. An absolute treat all around.
Annie and her partner Nancy showed their backgrounds in photo-journalism in the way they managed to tell the story of our wedding day in pictures. They captured beautiful moments of our ceremony that we'd never have noticed ourselves, like the elusive grin on the always-serious father of the bride, silly moments with the best man and the "I-can't-believe-we-pulled-it-off" expression of joy as we went back down the aisle.
The portraits afterward were just as good, since Annie knew some of the best places in the area for a beautiful backdrop and just the right lighting. We never felt awkward, stiff or posed.
After the wedding, Annie was very helpful in creating an online slideshow to share with our friends, getting us our proofs, giving us copies and printing our favorite picture extra-large to hang on our wall. Altogether, it was a better experience than we could have ever asked for.
Annie ONeill did an exceptional job capturing our special day and providing us with pictures that we will cherish for years to come! We can relive our wedding day every time we look through our beautiful album!
She also took the time to get to know us and made it her personal goal to make sure that we were 100% pleased with absolutely everything she did. We were very lucky to have found and booked her as our photographer - I can not say enough good things about her!
Annie O'Neill was a pleasure to work with. She was extremely responsive and professional. Our photography was beyond what we could have ever dreamed of. We love our pictures! She paid attention to every detail of our wedding. We also loved having Annie with us on our wedding day! I can't recommend Annie enough. If you are thinking about booking her as your photographer, you should definitely do it, you will not be disappointed. I give her an A+ all around!
Annie O'Neill was wonderful. We booked her 5 days before our wedding. Everyone felt very comfortable with her and she made things alot of fun. There was no pressure at all. Our photos turned out great and they looked so natural because we just had a fun doing it. I would definitely recommend her for any kind of photography. Her personality is one of a kind!
Now Annie O Neill Photography took just the right amount of pictures and captured all of those wedding moments that only a camera could capture. The service was very good and I have to say they knew everything about wedding photography. They have been doing this for a long time and gave me one hundred and ten percent satisfaction. It was a pleasure to do business with them.
This photographer's presence was a seamless part of our wedding. There was not a lot of "uh-oh, here come the photographers" business. And when we saw the photos for the first time, we were really struck by their apparent omnipresence. They managed to be in all the right places at all the right moments, without ever getting in the way of the festivities.
They were also very easy to work with on a personal level. We put a lot of passion and creative energy into our wedding - to make it just right - and they connected easily with the memory we were trying to make, and joined us as collaborators. Their approach is warm, human, and improvisational... in all the right ways.
Annie ONeill is a gifted photographer.
She documented our wedding day perfectly.
Her eye is trained and inspired, and she has a positive presence and a

Most delightfully, you can trust her. She is a professional in every sense
of the word. She'll get the shot. You know, the one that youll proudly
display on your mantle for the next 80 years. That one (well, many more than one!) that
shows the love, passion, and beauty of your day. She has a talent for capturing the
warm gestures of life-just as they happen.
Annie worked tirelessly to photograph the whirlwind of activity on our
wedding day. My husband and I heartily and confidently recommend her.
Annie was great to work with. She really put everyone at ease, got lots of great candid shots and didn't seem to be constantly underfoot.
As a person, Annie is warm, sweet, happy, caring and simply a delight to be around - did I mention sweet? Her sweetness is where her magic lies! Annie's photographic experience has encompassed the globe; she is highly sought-after for her documentary, editorial and wedding photography skills and you can find her well-connected amongst her photographic peers both locally and nationally where she imparts her knowledge and expertise to those fortunate to be connected to her. Annie's wedding photography is fresh, fun, intimate, creative, and exciting. Annie "knows her stuff" technically and creatively and is certain to make you happy when it comes to documenting and creating from your wedding day! Annie receives my highest recommendation! I worked as a photojournalist for 16 years, covering a broad range of events from Presidential Inaugurations to Easter Egg hunts, from the Quecreek mine rescue to what’s it like piloting the Goodyear Blimp (I even got to be co-pilot for five minutes!) I’ve had the privilege of photographing the birth of children, and families saying goodbye to their loved ones for the last time. I’ve been named the Pennsylvania Photographer of the Year twice, the Pittsburgh Photographer of the year three times, and have a host of other national awards.
Over the last few years I have photographed an amazing range of weddings, mostly for families in Western Pennsylvania and Southeast Michigan. From an intimate affair with twelve guests (everyone fit in a single limo and we drove around Pittsburgh for three hours), to a lavish ceremony with two THOUSAND. I was one of three photographers documenting the Crown Prince of Qatar’s wedding in 2005.
Beyond all the fabulous weddings, however, I’ve also been offered/lucked my way into some pretty remarkable opportunities. When Oprah brought her crew and their families to Hawaii, I was one of three invited to photograph the week’s events. Even more recently, I worked with three others to document Jennifer Anniston’s 40th birthday party.
