This is a wonderful place to have a reception. They have several rooms that you can book and use, including the main entrance which is perfect for a ceremony. I think what made Artspace a wonderful choice is that it is not a usual location, and this wasn't a usual wedding. It's a art studio, but there was a large room that we were able to use for the reception. It's a practical choice, too, because they do have a kitchen which the caterers were able to use as well AV equipment to rent. They were also able to put us in contact with several caterers that they recommended, as well as amateur photographers who were trying to make a start in the wedding business, and decorators. I felt that they wanted to take care of us and our wedding plans. From the moment you walk in, it's a wonderful feeling. We did become members of the Circle of Friends because we want to show our ongoing support for the Artspace.

Ceremony Review:

We rented the Artspace as the place for both our wedding ceremony site and reception. In the lobby, which is a bright ariy space, we were able to exchange our vows to a large group of friends and family. There is a PA system, or a sound system with speakers (or whatever you want to call it). This is where they generally recommend people get married, because of the space and style of the room. The accoustics in the room are really good. We had hired someone to play the cello and violin and it sounded beautiful. The Lobby, as the area is called, can be rented without renting the whole building, and it's a great option because you're surrounded by beautiful art. I think it's a great place to be married if you're looking for someplace inside and don't want to be married in a church. We liked it because it was open, kind of like being in a park, but we didn't have to worry about rain.

Reception Review:

This place is amazing. It's an art studio/gallery that lots of local artists display their work in. You can rent the entire building for a party. I've been to one other party here, and I loved it. The gallery room where people could sit was able to hold 100 people, and then we also booked the lobby so that friends could join us after the meal. It was hard deciding what sort of party we should host, because the place can hold more than 100 people, but it would mean having groups on two floors. We decided on a small sit down dinner for 100 close friends and family, followed by the ceremony in the Lobby, followed by more appetisrers for everyone. In this way everyone was able to enjoy their time, and everyone felt like they were a part of the party. If you're going to have over 200 guests, though, maybe not this place. It's spacious, but you don't want it to be crowded.
