Our wedding was November 4, 2012 and we had our Ceremony and Reception at Astoria; Everything was AMAZING! I worked with Max and Lora and they are incredible! They are always available to help with any planning issues. Max showed me the ceremony room before the guest and it brought me to tears. It was just so beautiful and they do everything with a lot of thought. I could go on and on! I would recommend Astoria to everyone! Thanks to everyone at Astoria that made our wedding day so special :)

The staff at Astoria Banquets are so professional and caring. They want for you and your guest to have the most amazing day and they work extremely hard to make sure that your day is perfect. We got married June 17, 2012 and from the time I walked in the venue to the time we left I was so pleased and happy that everything was perfect so much to the point that I forgot all about the stress from family and friends that occurred earlier that day. The only thing I had to do was show up and they handled the rest. Although I live a hour and thirty minutes away from Astoria, if I were to ever have an event that needed a venue, my only choice is Astoria Banqets. Extremely reasonable, extremely professional, extremely beautiful, just amazing. Thank you Lora and the amazing staff for making our day PERFECT!

The staff at Astoria was great! They were flexible with the package that we selected, and allowed us to exchange services. Also, the price was very reasonable considering everything that was included. Our guest enjoyed themselves and spoke highly about the venue, food and service. I would recommend Astoria Banquets to anyone, and would definitely use them again. Not to mention, when I saw the room after it had been decorated I cried like a baby.

A HUGE thank you to all the staff at Astoria Banquets-especially to Lora. Lora gave us a couple of very special added touches for our ceremony. The food was DELICIOUS-not processed tasting. We, as well as the guests, we VERY pleased with the quality of the food and the drinks. Frank, the bartender, was very attentive and courteous to all the guests and especially to us....always asking US if we needed anything. We highly, highly recommend Astoria as THE PLACE for an exceptional ceremony and reception!!!! 10 thumbs up! !0 thumbs is not even enough! If I would have known about Astoria in the past, I would have had other parties there. 5 stars. The package that we picked included a wedding cake from The Bakery Institute-we had 4 to pick from. It was a wonderful cake and very pretty (they will even customize it a little for you)

We were married on March 31, 2012 at Astoria and we had both our ceremony and reception here. The place was beautiful, the staff was helpful and the food was delish! All of my friends and family members were empressed with the decorations and how well they matched, as well as how good the food is. Astoria was helpful in terms of having everything you needed right there. We had a package that included open bar, dinner, the ceremony and reception. i was so worried about everything being fabolous with being on a budget, but Astoria took care of everything and really worked with my budget and payments. As a bride who did all of the wedding coordination, i can say this is the place to go! Thanks Astoria for making our day one to remember.

I just had my ceremony and reception at Astoria and it was better then expected. I was very pleased with the overall event. The ceremony was decorated lovely. The cocktail hour went well. I was very happy to see no one had to wait very long for drinks and there were plenty of hourderves to go around. The dinner was better then expected and I was pleased to see waiters constantly going around poring wine for all the guests. Overall I feel like I recieved a great vaule for the money we paid and we had a wonderful evening.

Everyone who worked with us at The Astoria was professional, courteous, so friendly and extremely helpful from start to finish. They took the time to answer ALL of my questions and concerns, always, and never made me feel like something I had to say was not important. I was blown away by both rooms the evening of my wedding and I could not have asked for more.

Due to a severe snow storm in the area, we had to push back our ceremony start time quite a bit but they were not worried in the slightest and it really kept my nerves calm. One thing I would have wished for is for the reception to have been able to last a little longer, since we lost a lot of time as a result of pushing the ceremony back. I do understand that all of the staff have jobs to do and families to go home to so it is nothing I won't get over. I would recommend them (and I already have) in a heartbeat!

The Astoria Banquet hall could not have been more helpful. They were all very interested in getting the reception the way we dreamed. The decorating, lighting, tables, drinks, and service were all top of the line. I would recommend this hall for any occasion.

My words can not express the praise I have for Astoria Banquet Hall in preparation for my wedding day. I was assisted by Irene who helped me with the process and was so patient, helpful all the time and just nice throughout the entire process. My now husband Nelson was so impressed with everything and especially pleased with the food.

I can not begin to express how grateful and thankful we are with the overall experience of working with Astoria Banquet Hall. The staff and service that was provided to us on our special day was remarkable. Even though we were running about an hour behind schedule the staff was still so patient and provided excellent service. We (myself and my husband) are so pleased with all the choices we made pertaining to the wedding and appreciate all the assistance & accommodations provided by them. Even the hotel (Wyndahm Garden Buffallo Grove) staff provided excellent service. Again, we are really pleased with how everything came together and turned out. Because of Astoria Banquet we were able to have our dream Wedding with impecable service. We received rave reviews on the decor, service, and food. Thank you Astoria Banquets for helping make this day a Dream Come True, also for making our wedding Beautiful and Stressfree. I would like to give a special thanks to the Bar-Tender Bryan who made sure I had all the drinks I wanted because it was my day. Thanks Bryan, You're the best!

The individuals (Lora, Irene and Max) at Astoria Banquets were absolutely wonderful. Working with them was effortless. Lora was patient and understanding to my wants and needs. She was ALWAYS available for all of my questions. I felt like I was working with friends and family instead of working with people I didn't know. Our special day went so smoothly.

The facility was absolutely beautiful and the food was fantastic! Astoria is equipped to make your event any way you’d like. I feel that our event exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds!

I would recommend Astoria to anyone looking to have an event. I don't think you'd find a more efficient, caring, and qualified staff!

Almost all of our guest said it was the best wedding they had been to and if they ever needed to have an event they would have it at Astoria!

AMAZING!!! The first word that comes to mind to describe my experience with Astoria Banquets. From the beginning Lara was very helpful in making my vision come true. My wedding day was PERFECT, there was not a single detail that we talked about that was missing. The staff was awesome the day of. Especially the bartender (I believe his name was Frank) he made sure my guest were "happy". We even convinced him to take a picture in the photo booth =), he happily obliged. We had a situation were we learned the DJ was a vegetarian the day of the wedding. Our server asked the chef if he could do anything and he kindly made some pasta for the DJ. This made me very happy; and so was the DJ; he kept the dance floor packed ALL NIGHT LONG. I guess a little broccoli can go a long way...
The food was AWESOME, my guest are still commenting on the grilled shrimp and chicken we served. Overall, I had an amazing experience with Astoria. I would recommend them to any bride; big budget or small they can do it all.

EDIT: OMG, how can I forget about the uplighting and Gobo. F A B U L O U S!!!! I was blown away with how good they looked at the reception. I really think Astoria should add more items to their decor. They do a great job with decorating. It is really refreashing as a bride to come to a venue where you can get everything you need for decor. CHECK WITH ASTORIA FIRST before looking into other decor options.

We had a Russian style wedding and the only thing I have to complain about was that we didn't get a menu tasting and they were sort of inflexible about alcohol on the tables vs. Open bar etc. Also it was a very expensive package. Overall though they did a good job and our wedding turned out nicely.

We just had our reception at Astoria at the end of April 2011 and they were awesome! They always returned my calls and were extremely flexible up until the week of the wedding. Our service was incredible the night of the reception. They catered to our needs and all of our guests. Everyone raved about how excellent the food and cake were. The room looked beautiful and they tailored everything to match our style and color scheme. I would recommend Astoria to any of our friends and family members!

Astoria Banquets was great. They were so accommodating and made sure everything was right.Here’s the most amazing thing that Astoria did for me.After we arrived at the hall, the limo took off so quick I forgot my bouquet! We tried calling the driver to come back, but it was too late. I was in the bridal suite, so mad and devastated that I didn’t have my flowers for the ceremony and there came Max with a beautiful bouquet! I don’t know where he got it, but he saved the day and my memories. Thank you so much.

Astoria Banquets truly fit our dream of a wedding! They made every vision come alive as far as lighting, linens, food, desserts, drinks, and overall atmosphere! The venue is gorgeous! The waitstaff was wonderful and all of the coordinators are outstanding. We dealt with Lora, and she went over and beyond for us and is definitely a proffesional! Astoria was amazing! If you are on a budget but do not want to sacrifice quality on one of the most important days of your life, then do yourself a favor and go with Astoria.

We had a small ceremony and reception (50 guests) so we opted for the smaller room because the bar area was so pretty and the color scheme was so warm. It all just fell together perfectly with our fall themed ceremony.

The staff was a pleasure to work with, any questions/concerns we had were addressed right away and were made to feel like everything was taken care of.

Also, we can't leave out the service staff. Our bartender and servers were so attentive and looked like they were actually happy to be there as well! =)

We had a lunch reception at Astoria Banquets on a Saturday afternoon. I was very pleased with the staff and how much they were ready to support and help me out as best as they could. I'm quite the perfectionist, so I was bit worried that things would not turn out the way that I had planned. But they made everything the way that I had hoped for. On the day of my wedding, they took care of everything from set up to break down. Not once did I feel dissatisfied or bothered with questions and etc. I am very pleased with this place! To top it off, the prices were quite affordable.

Irene at Astoria was great! Very accommodating and flexible! I feel that I got an exceptional deal on the whole package (food, drinks, space). The food was pretty good, we had chicken. Staff was very friendly and everyone got their food & cake (which was included in our package and was delicious) pretty fast. The venue was beautiful, lots of neutral colors, big chandeliers, & spacious. We had our ceremony and reception there and they were able to flip the room over very fast. We also had the VIP room for cocktails which was really nice for our guests and it was a huge room. There was a couple times when I would leave a message for Irene and I think she wouldn't get them because I didn't get a call back. Also I remember being shown a bigger bridal suite and the day of it looked completely different and was much smaller. The banquet hall is also located in a strip mall and looks kind of sketchy from the outside, but the inside is gorgeous! Some of my guests had a hard time finding the hall because GPS was taking them to a different place so I would recommend including a map with invitation. One last bump in the road is that they would not allow me to leave some of vases i rented from my florist over night so my florist had to come at 1am to pick them up that night and attached a pretty big same-night pick charge (from my florist). Other than than that everything was perfect and no regrets! Thanks Astoria for making my day go smoothly and including all the little extras at a VERY low price!

The Astoria provided GREAT service and BEAUTIFUL set up on our wedding day. The biggest difficulty was the lack of flexibility when planning the wedding. I felt like we were overcharged for some things and I also don't think it is appropriate that they charge the Cook County Sales tax for EVERYTHING by labeling it all food costs. By charging per plate instead of for other items, they end up charging a lot more.

The people in the office were amazing, very prompt with returning phone calls and informative with valuable input that provided an amazing reception for our guests. The cake that we ordered was amazing and delicious! We even received the top tier to save when we had forgotten to ask for it. I did receive a few complaints right after the reception. The people who were setting up for the next wedding reception were already starting to ask people to leave the hall but it wasn't three o'clock yet. But other than that, it truly was a great experience for us. It's one aspect that I do not regret about our wedding.

I found Astoria completely by accident in a web search. I was desperate to find a venue after our first choice closed down. I was looking for a venue that looked unique...not like every other blank white room with pretty crystals and no color. Astoria looked GORGEOUS in the pictures online so I was just praying it looked that way in person!! And it did! To be fair, it looks sooooo not pretty from the street. Its hidden away in a strip mall, and from the outside you kinda get the feeling "You've got to be kidding." But the inside is just as gorgeous as the pictures! For me, it was everything I was looking for! It looks very historical/Victorian hotel. Just go to the website as I'm going to fail in describing it. Very elegant, classy, and intimate. Its definitely not the biggest venue but our wedding was about 200 guests and we were just fine.

There were very few reviews of Astoria that I'd found online prior to booking. Some were very positive and some were really scary sounding. I fell so in love with what we saw at Astoria and liked the package that we booked with them despite the butterflies the negative reviews had given me. I am happy to say that I didn't find any of those negative reviews to be part of my experience. Our food was AMAZING. We didn't have time to do a tasting beforehand, we just picked things off the list that sounded good lol. I was really worried about that but everything tasted great and our guests were all really happy ^-^. The baker they work with for the cake is to die for!!!! We got a sweet table as part of our package and omigod the cream puffs were soooo fabulous.

Everyone that I dealt with who worked at Astoria was really nice and extremely helpful. Lora and Max were the two main people I was in contact with and they both went above and beyond to accomidate *can't spell* me. Lora basically helped me plan everything and then Max was in charge the night of the wedding itself. He kept checking in with me the whole night to make sure I was ok. He was awesome! Everything went off without a hitch, not a single problem...or at least if there were any, I was unaware. It was a perfect day.

I know that sometimes reading reviews they sound too good to be true, but seriously, give Astoria a shot. I would say that the prices are really reasonable, being average to below average. Its like any other place, there are "upgrades" that you can get, but you don't have to get them if you don't want them. Just be firm about what you want and don't want. We had both our wedding ceremony and reception there and it was perfect from beginning to end. I had an amazing experience with them and all of my guests spent most of the night telling me it was the best wedding they'd ever been to ^-^ Good luck!

Overall we were satisfied with the venue. We really liked the look and feel of the place and the staff was very nice. We did not like that we had to get our wedding cake from their vendor and if we chose not to, it would have cost extra to have them cut the cake and serve it. We were also disappointed that we had made the place cards in different colors so that it would be easy for the staff to determine who had which entree. We told them the system and they said that was great and they understood but when the wait staff came out they were utterly confused as to who had which entree. We would probably still recommend this venue to other people but we would not go out of the way to convince them to go with Astoria.

Laura was great and really sweet to me. She was very flexible with me. I just wish there wasn't such a strict requirement on the minimum number of people we thought would come to the wedding and to book the entire location, but I was pleased with the outcome. Our food service on the wedding day ended up being late and slow to come out, but the food is excellent. I would definitely recommend this place for the affordability, elegance, and flexibility.

I was absolutely blown away by Astoria Banquets. My wedding could not have been more stress free. They work with your budget and give you the biggest bang for your buck. Every single one of their staff members is so friendly (I actually became friends with one of them through my experience), but as friendly as they are they are still very professional. They remind you about everything that is coming up (food tasting, payments, etc.) they are so helpful and answer all of your questions. I HIGHLY recommend them to everyone!

Max and Laura were great to work with and managed my daughter's wedding perfectly. Very attentive to our requests before, during and throughout the wedding night. Servers and bar staff were outstanding, with great personalities, which my guests really appreciated. Food quality overall was excellent and the presentation on the sweets table was out of this world. The line for the desserts was going all night and many people called or emailed afterward to tell us how much they enjoyed the food, but especially the desserts. I highly recommend upgrading to this option. You can spend more and you can spend less, but for the price we found the Astoria to be a great value and one we'd highly recommend. Thanks for being great hosts on the most important night of my daughter's life.

Astoria was great and especially great for the money. We did the winter wonderland package and paid 29.99 per person.

For 29.99 it included: Wedding Cake; no cutting fees, open bar, chair covers, colored napkins, appetizers, centerpieces (all things other places wanted to charge me per person). Obviously it included main meal, etc, but just wanted to list the things a place normally wouldn't include.

I think the only complaint would be, the DJ announced we were cutting the cake and there were no knives and we stood there waiting for a few minutes which looked a bit awkward. But I even feel stupid complaining about that, such a small issue.

As for food we had chicken parmesan and spinach lasagna (vegetarian option). People loved loved the lasagna. And also though the appetizers were great (we did it were they just pick 3 for us on the day, which is cheaper than us picking our own.) Which seems weird not picking our own but worked out great.

We brought our own centerpieces because we liked ours better than the ones included but still used the votives and mirrors that they provided. Which they did not have a problem with.

As for people saying they throw things away? I requested my top tier of the cake and they packaged it up for me along with the entire grooms cake which we decided not cut because we had the wedding cake cut up.) So it the biggest complaint is having to request your items for 30 bucks a person, its worth it!

Our wedding reception was a night to remember and it was due to Max and Irene and all of their staff that helped pull this off. I wanted a place that would have it all, ambiance, class, great food, and all for the right price and the Astoria was it. I called Max with a million questions along with several emails and he always got right back to me and everyone was very professional. My only suggestion is if you have a tendency to get hot make sure the heat is off because it ended up getting pretty hot in there but nothing to ruin the evening, thats for sure. I also used their cake recommendations and that was amazing along with the food Oh my goodness was that good, right down to the green beans that were nothing like Ive ever had. Everyone of my guests were raving about this evening for weeks afterwards. I had alot of out of town guests that we wanted to please and we did. I also used the hotel Wyndham in the area for out of towners and we got a discount because of the Astoria and that was perfect and comfortable for everyone. I wanted so much for this to be a night of romance not only for myself but for all of my guests and thats exactly what it was, Irene stuck around throughout the reception making sure everything went as planned and even helped me with my DJ so I wouldnt have to take anytime away from my night. The waitstaff was so nice and accomadating throughout the night as well. Overall this was a perfect night and Im so grateful. Also I changed my mind on certain decor or ideas and they were always willing to work with me and we didnt want to include alcohol so they allowed me to substitute with decorations so they were flexible in everyway.. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a beautiful romantic wedding reception where everyone will truly enjoy their evening embracing the beauty thats all around them ,with the rooms they are capable of creating for you.

We could not have been happier with all of the vendors that were a part of our wedding! My husband dropped off the guest favors to Astoria the day before which were the main part of the table decor and the staff did an excellent job setting it up. Everything was so beautiful! The staff were very helpful and polite. Astoria has a choice on their baker now too and we highly recommend going through The Baking Institute. The cake they made for our wedding was exactly what we wanted, absolutely beautiful and tasted even better! We cannot even tell you how many of our guests commented on how beautiful and fun our wedding was! Not one complaint!

This is going to be a long review: We had our ceremony & reception at Astoria with the Winter Wonderland package and day of everything went off well except the room temperature was very warm (caused my make-up to melt off)and some of the words on the outside of the building were out and looked tacky also they have no sign on the street so some of my guests drove right bye.
Everyone said the food was good-I have Celiac so I had a different meal. The cake was so-so I hear.
Get everything in writing and hold on to it.

The reason I am upset is because the week of the wedding they(Lora) realized she made a mistake on the final invoice ($793 mistake not a huge amount, but we were pretty broke by the week of) and expected the money immediately and was not very understanding or accommodating and kept telling my mother and I different things and made it seem like we misunderstood her. The woman had me in tears and ready to cancel the wedding the day before the wedding. Lora told me that as long as they had the money before the start of the ceremony that was fine. Told my mother we could pay $300 by credit card by phone the day before and the rest the day of it in a cashier’s check or cash. If we didn't come up with all the money they would just take things out of our ceremony...so they would take things out of our ceremony because they goofed. Moving on-I called the day before to pay and all of the sudden there was a "mix up" and I had to go in the day before to pay. We live an hour away and with a million things to do the day before it wasn't the easiest thing to do and there was little understanding on her end. There was also an error with our down payment, we made it, and then they called and said they made a mistake and it was $822 short.
Another bad thing-they wouldn't let the vendors more than an hour before my event . My DJ was able to get in a 1.5 hour early but he had to call and beg basically. Max, Lora's husband was there the day of my event and everything went well and he's very nice, but it would have been nice if Lora was a little more understanding that week before. We already gave Astoria $11k+ by the week before-it is not like we were the ones that goofed she did and it would have been nice if she was more understanding and accommodating. I had 5 couples ask me about Astoria after our event and I told them of the service we received and they agreed-it wouldn't be worth it to book there. So they lost approx $55k due to rudeness- it’s a shame because the event went off very well. The servers were very nice too.
We had a sweetheart table and the drapery they set up behind it was $200, they allowed us to provide alcohol free wine for the father of the bride and they provided a few alcohol free beers for the FOB, Coat check was $75 for the attendant and then $1/coat. The bar was so-so and they allowed us to have a candy bar. We had family style with Chicken Marsala, Beef Bordelaise, Fettuccini Alfredo, Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes. We also had Chicken with rice soup. If any of your guests do not show up you do not get the food that you paid for. It is in a strip mall-the interior is nice. Like I said there no sign on the street alerting people that they are there and some of the lights were out on the letters on the building. If I had to do it all over again I would not book Astoria-the only reason they are getting any stars from me is because the event itself went well and the rest of the staff was very nice.

Astoria is a Beautiful venue! i fell in love with it the first time i walked in. We rented out the WHOLE hall for our wedding. we had an overall pleasant experience with everyone at the hall. the food was Excellent. all our guest were amazed how good everything from the appetizers to the sweet bar was. but of course there were a few bumps in the road. they aren't very flexible with setting up meetings. so we had to rush around to try and fit everything around there schedules and still make it to other meetings and work. Also we had a few issues with the way they run tastings. You are only allowed to try 2 entrees anything more then that and you have to PAY extra. it was crazy to me that we were already paying a huge amount of money and they couldn't allow me to try whatever i wanted without paying MORE. you also cant try any of the soups or appetizers, and when i asked why they told me " we are confidant in our food and know you will like anything u pick." i hated not knowing what i was getting the day of my wedding! Also be very careful about the contract. DOUBLE check them to make sure what you discussed is what they actually write down. i had a few issues with mine. also i suggest you work with Irene if u go there. she is the most helpful and is willing to work with you. we absolutely loved her!

Astoria Banquets was everything and more.

We rented out the entire venue. Starting with the crystal wedding ceremony, which as absoultely beautiful and then we "flowed" into the reception.

The food, service and professionalism were there on that Day. On your wedding day you want to feel very special and we were treated like royalty.

From the beginnng to the end, Lora, Max, Irene and staff were very easy to deal with. Whether planning the venue, making appointments to meet or changing the seating for the reception, they were always pleasant and very helpful.

Our guests are still reeling about what a wonderful wedding it was, how beautiful the place was, how good the food was and what a wonderful time they had.

Don't let the "strip mall" front fool you. Astoria Banquets is a wonderful place to host a wedding or any other event you may desire.

The experience was such a pleasurable one. Our crowns go off to Astoria Banquets and staff.

Very pleased with all aspects, from initial planning, tasting, coordination, linens and d�cor. No detail was overlooked. We were made to feel that there was nothing to worry about. All the food was terrific and staff gets highest praise for us.. We also had crystal ceremony with them and what a relief to have it all at once, by far the easiest decision we had to make. Our photographer loved it too, all photos came out amazing. THANKS!!

DO NOT GET THE WEDDING CAKE OFFERED IN THE PACKAGE!! Astoria only uses a certain bakery and they are terrible. Thecake tasted like playground gravel. Please opt for the sweets table and invest in your own cake. Other than that, the place was awesome. It was everything I dreamed of and more. Most of the staff was very helpful, but the staff changed often. I always had to call to confirm emails. It was a lot of hastle but it all turned out great. Oh, I can't believe I almost forgot. Astoria is located in a strip mall so there is no place for outdoor pictures (do NOT believe their lies about a garden). There is a wonderful park with fountain (fountain on from April to October) located 4 miles south of Astoria. My picture were absolutely breathtaking. Name of park is North School Park in Arlington Heights. Check it out.

My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding at your facility. I wanted to send a note of thanks to all of the people that made this a lovely and memorable occasion. I am sure you often hear how wonderful your staff is. They made sure every detail was done to the tee! The room was beautiful and comfortable. The wedding ceremony was beautiful and the breakdown and change to the dining facility was seamless. All of the food was delicious, and lovely in presentation. From the wait staff, to the bartender to the managers, everyone was accommodating, friendly and so helpful!

Our guests commented on the lovely time that they had and your staff was one of the reasons for this.

Absolutely amazing! We searched for the right place for so long and were so thankful and lucky to have found Astoria. I had seen beautiful pictures of it on-line before we went to visit and couldnt even believe how gorgeous it was in person. They made the entire planning process so easy and stress free.

My fiancee and I had no idea were to begin and the entire Astoria staff took care of us every step of the way...it felt like we had our own personal wedding planner! Our coordinator helped us pick our colors, linens, and menu! The day of the wedding could not have went better! The food was to die for!!! We ordered the chicken champagne (suggested by our coordinator) our guests couldnt stop raving about it. It was truly delicious.

I never imagine that we would be able to have the kind of wedding that Astoria created for us! It was everything and more then I could have ever asked for.

By the way, the entire place has the more amazing and beautiful crystal chandeliers I have ever seen!!

The outside looks like a hole.. but the inside is gorgrous. They do not provide space for you to rehearse unless you book an actual rehearsal dinner with them. The wedding cakes are outdated. They are fairly prompt at responding to emails, though do not always answer the questions you ask. EVERY thing is an extra cost, so originally we thought it would be around 10,000 but with chair covers, alcohol, etc etc etc.. it came to 14,000. The food quality (and cake) was VERY poor. Appetizers were GREAT, but dinner itself was horrible. I would not choose this location again if I had the chance to do it all over again.

Absolutely fabulous! Our daughter, the bride found it on website, after we went to see many Reception Halls. We all agreed on this one; it had everything we needed. There was even a small garden outside of the bar room. We had 250 guests, so we rented the whole place for that day. We heard over and over from our guests that the wedding was so beautiful, the reception was so elegant, the food was so delicious and it was a lot of fun from start to finish. The dancing floor is large and it was full with guests. Our DJ, Lora’s recommendation was very entertaining.

We couldn’t be happier with our choice. It is an awesome place, elegant, stylish, beautiful linens, cutlery, china and glassware. You will be happy if you are on a budget, or if you have a lot of money to spend. Even a basic package has chair covers and great dinner options. The tasting was a feast not just a sampling.

Our hors d’oeuvres (5 of them) and alcohol were served in the hall, bar room and a little garden outside, so everybody could enjoy the gorgeous presentation of the ballroom before the main meal (soup, salad and main course).

There was plenty of parking, very convenient for our guests.

Our wedding coordinator was very experienced and easy to work with. Lora was exceptionally tactful, polite, flexible and very accommodative to the bride, groom and parents. She made sure that all of our choices were presentable, appropriate and the best for us and our guests. Since we had less people than we anticipated, we were able to upgrade our package easily.
Our daughter fulfilled her dream with a wedding ice cream cake just for the bride and groom and the guests enjoyed many scrumptious European pastries from the sweet table. We also got excellent pictures. The owners and the staff are marvelous people and we got exceptional service. It was a blast and smashing success.

We would HIGHLY recommend to anyone, who wants to have a very elegant and top notch place for a reception.

This venue may not look like much on the outside, but the inside is beautifully elegant. They served prime rib and a tasty chicken dish to my guest at an affordable price, and the food was excellent! Dinner service included hors douvres, salad, soup, the main course, AND they arranged for my cake--all I had to do was pick what I wanted it to look like. I was also provided with a dressing room to prepare in.
My only problem with my evening was a few glitches with planning I was not expecting. The staff was very helpful before the day of the event, but that night a few details I thought had been settled came up. If they say the coat check is complimentary, make sure, and get it in writing. We also had planned on having the bar hidden (it was a dry wedding) and it was not. Little things.

My advice: A great place, just get every detail confirmed in writing!

Like another poster, I got sucked in because the inside of the hall was gorgeous (not the outside! It's in a strip mall!). And, it was gorgeous the night of my wedding. That's about where the good stuff ends.
The wedding coordinator is difficult to work with (we think she's the owner's daughter in law, which explains a lot). She is not terribly forthcoming with information and is pretty inflexible on just about everything.
The night of our reception was fraught with problems- they set up the wrong type of bar (we'd paid for premium and got house and didn't discover this until 9:30 p.m.) and they refused to compensate us for the difference. The food was abysmal- my dinner tasted like it had been drying out under a heat lamp for 6 hours and the real mashed potatoes from the tasting had been replaced by boxed ones for our reception. This was a huge disappointment because the tasting had been terrific and I kept telling everyone how amazing the dinner was going to be.
We had expressed concerns over the amount of room we would have- we had the central and south ballrooms for 150 guests. They assured us that the rooms would hold 200. I have now idea how because our tables were pretty much one on top of the other and there was no room to move.
A lot of the things in our contract we never got, like the appetizers sent up to the bridal suite. And again, they refused to compensate us for this. And lastly, like the other bride said, if you want something back at the end of the night, make sure you let everyone know. We were cleaning our stuff out after the guests had left- we were obviously still in the process of packing things up. We had gone to the car to put some stuff away and when we came back, they had thrown away my bouquet. It had a couple of charms in it that I want to save and I had been planning to preserve it in a shadow box. But, the staff just tossed it in the trash as if it were garbage and were unable to recover it.
I would never have another event here. Ever.

Worst customer service ever. If you do end up choosing The Astoria be sure to keep an inventory of everything you give them (cake topper, cake knife, favors,ect) that you want back after the reception. Also be sure to request the top tier of your wedding cake if you want it. I was not given ours and when I called to ask was told they only give them if you make a special request because they only make the cake big enough for the number of guests to be served. I am finding out now that at least 10 of our guests didn't even get cake because they were not in their seat-not that they missed anything because it tasted horrible. Also we were not given our 30 extra favors (they said they were put under one of the guests tables in a box and that they should have told us). We had to ask to get our cake topper and knife back and they through away the boxes they came in. It takes anywhere from 3-7 days for emails to be returned. None of my recently married friends had any of these problems with their reception halls.

The Astoria staff was great to work with for my wedding reception planning. I lived in a different state and set most of the details after one visit with no food tasting (I had heard good referrals for the hall and catering service). The event coordinator was very easy to work with for my special requests and explained everything I had questions about. We were even able to arrange for a large party to do a longer dessert at a neighboring fondu establishment after my afternoon reception. I would definately recommend Astoria to any couples looking for a ceremony and/or reception hall!

I would recommend Astoria Banquets as the perfect Venue to host you next Wedding or Special Event.

One of the highest compliments that I have to offer is that we didn't have to worry about anything. All of the details where carefully thought out by Our Event Coordinator (Laura). This encompassed the initial planning and coordination’s of our sons Wedding Reception, Cake selection, food tasting, the Banquet Hall Decor, table linens & including the chair coverings, bridal suite, etc. No detail was overlooked and/or missed. In addition, many extra's were thrown in and included that were not apart of the original contract.

The Days and weeks after the Reception, I received many unsolicited compliments on all aspects of the reception. From how beautiful the venue was, the hospitality of the staff and on how delicious the food and wedding cake was.

I just cannot say enough good things about Astoria!

We LOVE photographing weddings at Astoria! We are there all the time and familiar with their beautiful hall. It is an elegant, yet fun setting and we have seen the room transformed differently dozens and dozens of times and each time it is unique and gorgeous. This hall makes for great photographs, and the food is wonderful. Highly recommended!
