Athena Bridal & After Five

I found my dress at a bridal shop other than Athena, but knowing it was a small locally owned business, I chose to order it through them to help them make a profit. The person I dealt with, Rhonda, was so wonderful and helpful. Rhonda called the dress maker to get the pricing, which was around the same as the other store, then ordered it. I came in to see the dress once it had arrived, and was told that I had to pay over $200 more than I was originally quoted, and also that Rhonda was no longer with them. I was devastated. She had been so wonderful and now that she was gone, I felt as though they were trying to take advantage of me. I ended up haggling with them, and paid about $100 more than I would have at the other store.

The store stored my dress until my wedding, and had it steamed the day before the wedding. They also gave us a nice garment bag with the dress. Overall, I was satisfied with this company, but they really do need to brush up on their people skills.

Really enjoyed working with the staff of Athena's. I wanted to unique, silver dress and they were the only place in town where I could find one. They made me feel like the only bride they had everytime I called or came in. They also stored my dress there for free until the day before the wedding. It was pressed and ready to wear when I picked it up.

I bought my prom dress at Athena’s, so I knew they had a nice selection of wedding dresses. I went in wanting something simple and fairly cheap, less than $600. The salesperson was good about showing me dresses that were in my price range. She was the one who even told my mom, “don’t break the bank” over a dress because it’s not the most important part of the wedding. She was right. She also showed me a beautiful princess dress. It was not what I thought I wanted until I tried it on and saw how beautiful I looked. I liked this place because the saleslady told me not to go beyond my budget but also showed me dresses until I found one I liked. I had two appointments here, and they paired me with the same sales rep both times which made it easier.

I have gone wedding dress shopping with so many people, that I actually knew which store had the dress that I wanted. When I called to make the appointment, I even explained to the person over the phone which dress I wanted. They had pulled three dresses for me that looked more or less the same. I liked that they understood and actually appreciated that I knew what I wanted. I would have been happy with all three, and was glad they didn’t try to pressure me into trying a different style or getting a veil. I don’t have the body of a twenty-year-old, but the dresses were very flattering to my size and body type. I felt like a princess! The women in the store made me feel beautiful, and because it was a slow day they took time to get to know me and my wedding situation, listened about the kids. I bought the dress in less than an hour, and it was a great shopping experience.

I had a bad experience here, but I still bought my dress here. There was a mix-up, and when I went to pick up my dress it was the wrong dress. Luckily someone working there remembered me, and the dress I originally tried on, and realized that there had been a mix-up and my dress was there, it was just under another brides’ name. I would have died otherwise. I was glad they were able to fix the problem and find my dress, but they looked panic as they looked for it.

I was surprised, but I actually found the bridesmaids dresses before I found the wedding dress. The bridesmaids dresses were beautiful, lots of veils, and it reminded me of an ocean. I was so happy that the salesperson brought me teal color dresses to look at, especially since I said I only wanted blue. She listened to what I said, but then still brought me something that was different but fit into my wedding vision. I loved the whole staff at the store, because they were just so happy and nice to me. I think they felt bad that I didn’t find a wedding dress there that I liked, but they were nice and suggested other bridal stores in the area. I think you know you’ve found a great staff of bridal consultants when they will actually send you to another store if they don’t have what you want in stock.

I actually chose a prom dress as a wedding dress. The prom dress was more what I wanted, because it was more fun looking and sexy, and the sales person who was helping me find dresses that I liked didn’t mind me going through the prom dress section on my own. There was two that I liked, one bridal dress and one prom dress, and the bridal dress was almost twice as much but looked nicer, and the prom dress was fun but was made of cheaper material. I was happy the sales person told me to go with the dress that made me happy, because I felt that she really believed that a bride should at least have the dress she wants.

I bought my dress here and I was happy with my dress. I think the customer service was okay, I do not think they are the most professional people. The girl who worked with me was rather depressing, I almost wanted to send her away. I stayed in the store and bought the dress because they do carry nice dresses, and they were a few hundred dollars cheaper than elsewhere.
