We got married here and had a beautiful wedding. Really pretty. Service was good too.

BUT

be weary of their policies and practices. My wedding was at least 14-16 people short from the total we gave before hand for dinner, at $120-140 per person it was AT LEAST $1700 in over charge & we didn't get a penny back.

However, that's No problem, it's regulation/policy... blah blah blah... but then when the photography went on a little too long and the wedding started 45min late, I asked for an extra hour so we could still dance and socialize and the venue charged me, immediately... the groom... $500... on the spot... mid wedding, in order to not have the guest kicked out. I got the money from wedding present envelopes. Now, to me, a wedding that starts an hour late, means the "servers" had nothing to do for an hour, and even if they did, it wasn't much, the venue got over $1,700 in money for guests who didn't show and 25% gratuity on top of that. They had no other events after the wedding and we didn't ask for any alcohol or food or service for that extra hour, just the time to dance. Yet, at 9:00 PM when dinner was served, I had to pay $500 CASH for 1measly hour. Did the staff get the $500? Nope. $500 went to revenue for a venue that had already gotten thousands and thousands and thousands up front and plenty of money from cancelations on dinner and 25% gratuity even from the cancelations.

Food is mediocre. Airplane chicken, prime rib was good... we had 13 guest complaints... i don't know what the average is so I won't hold it against their chef. Sometimes its the guest who are too picky.

Also, they charge you additional 25% gratuity for none food and service items as well (for time, space, table or chair covers, anything) and then refund the %25 later... all the while leaving a giant hole in your wedding budget until their refunds post. They blame it on an out-dated credit card system or something... If your charging $500 an hour, you should have some high-tech equipment.
I will always talk about the friendly staff and serene beauty. Lennard,(night manager) the friendliest, kindest, funny, charming man I have ever met. What a great guy.
The staff snuck me drinks when the wedding coordinator forbid me from having pre-ceremony drinks. I love them for it, I might have panicked otherwise.
Grooms who drink, don't come here.
If you like shots, Atlanta National forbids shots. Or straight-up liquor. It must be mixed drinks.

I will never recommend this venue for anyone who has a budget.

They charge $6.50 a chair cover, not including the sash, when vendors charge a well known $1.50/pr chair Go to Angel Chair Covers through google search. Ask for GiGi Wu, she's the owner.

I will leave a similar review of my experience on all Atlanta and GA based wedding sites until Atlanta National acknowledges with an apology and admittance of lack of tact and taste and makes it right. Then I will amend my review to include their ability to rise above and correct an awfully inconsiderate practice.
