Working with Atlantic Coast Entertainment for the entertainment for our wedding was fantastic. I can not say enough kind words about all of the help from Erv and Tessa or the fantastic skills of our DJ Becky. From our very first meeting we were pleasantly surprised with their gender-neutral language on all forms (as a lesbian couple we were tired of crossing our groom and inserting another bride) and their willingness to really design and personalize our evening to the fullest. Becky's contributions to our evening running smoothly are innumerable. She kept the dance floor hopping and worked in all of the wedding traditions we wanted and even a couple that were a little more personalized and a little less traditional. Becky went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best wedding reception possible and I truly believe that our night would not have been nearly as amazing as it was without her there. I would recommend the services of ACE to anyone and especially Becky as a DJ. Once again, we could not be more pleased with our experience with Atlantic Coast Entertainment!

One of my close friends recommended Atlantic Coast to me after her wedding--which I attended, so I was very eager to work with them!! The owner, Erv, DJ'd her wedding, so I requested him, and I could not be happier!! He did a fantastic job of not only entertaining, but in helping me organize the wedding party on our actual wedding day (think seventeen rambunctious, slightly intoxicated bridesmaids and groomsmen). He is a seasoned entertainer, and it shows. He followed my (OCD) instructions exactly, but also shined in the areas in which I gave him creative liberty. Our guests were having such a great time from the moment the wedding started, and even got up to dance in between the salad course and dinner course!! I am so, so, so pleased with Erv and his company that I've highly recommended the company to all my engaged friends!!

I can't say enough good things about Erv and Becky! We went looking for a DJ and had some bad experiences. Erv and Becky made it easy to set up and were very cost effective!
My wedding was a difficult group. Becky and her assistant were able to play the music that got people out there and dancing. Not only were they awesome in that way Erv did a "special" first dance song for us that really surprised everyone. In a word...awesome!

I live in PA and was getting married in CT. We had originally selected another DJ and left a deposit. Due to unfortunate circumstances close to the wedding; that DJ was not willing to work with us and refused to give us our deposit back.
That left me looking for another DJ almost at the last minute (2 months out). I found Atlantic Coast and spoke with the owner Erv. I explained my situation and he said that his assistant Tessa would work with me. She was able to come up with a package that suited us and our budget.
Becky was the DJ that we were "matched" with. We met with her and reviewed with her the music that we wanted played and not played.
She was punctual, professional, and personable. She did an outstanding job!!! Not once was the floor left empty!!!! She played music that kept everyone dancing!!!! I really don't know why I didn't find them in the first place!!!!! I would recommend Atlantic Coast Entertainment for your entertainment needs...wedding or special event!!!

Arthur was the DJ for our wedding and did a great job! He was such a nice friendly guy and very professional (even when we wanted to make some last minute changes). I was calling around pricing different places and had contacted a few DJ's...Atlantic Coast Entertainment was next on my list and as soon as I called and spoke to Erv I knew I would be booking them to DJ my wedding. Our first meeting was with Chuck who I found to be very professional, yet at the same time, very laid back. We went into the meeting with barely any ideas and he was very patient with us and showed us all different options we could choose from. He did everything as we had spoken about, did a perfect mix of music for all age groups at our wedding, and was overall an excellent host of the reception. We were very pleased with Atlantic Coast's service and communication with us throughout the planning process. I would highly recommend them!!

Jonathan and I would just like to let anyone thinking of having a wedding reception, that there is a no better full service company than Atlantic Coast Entertainment. They are AWESOME. They gave us an amazing price because we combined 3 services that they offer. The DJ that we had was Becky and she had our guests dancing all night long. We are still getting compliments from our guests about having the best reception ever! A.C.E.'s video and photography service is truly top shelf. The pictures are plentiful and stunning and our video makes us look and feel like we are stars. From our initial meeting with Erv the owner to the last dance at our reception we felt that we had found the best services for our event. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

I had looked at a few other DJ's before I met with Erv from Atlantic Coast Entertainment. After we sat down and he walked my then fiance' and myself through the entire reception process, we were completely blown away with all the creative options that were available to us. Erv created an amazing introduction for us and even took the extra time to help us put together a suprise first dance that he must have spent a very long time on to get it right. IT WAS PERFECT and we had so much fun! Our guests are still talking about the music and the awesome time that they had. I would recommend Atlantic Coast Entertainment to anybody. Atlantic Coast Entertainment came very highly recommended to us, and we could not have been more pleased. We met with Chuck our DJ, and he went above and beyond what our expectations were. We had an idea for our introductions, and wanted to know if he could make something similiar for us, and he had no problem. From beginning to end, he helped us in the planning process, and even made a customized introduction that was perfect. The music for the evening was a perfect mix of classy, traditional and off the hook party, which fit us, and our friends and family to a T. We had a complete change of wedding venue three days before the wedding due to the hurricane and DJ Erv and his team were AMAZING. We had so many compliments about everything from the lighting to the music. We had our wedding in an old theater so there were many different rooms music and sound needed to be streamed into on two floors. ACE made this happen and were PERFECT. We really could not have asked for anything more from them. We had so many people say to us after the wedding "we kept trying to get off the dance floor but the music was so good we couldnt! When you'd try to leave the DJ would play another amazing song!" Really, they are THE BEST. We found out about DJ Erv as he was the DJ at two of our other friends weddings.
Definitely a 5 out of 5, We'd give a higher rating if we could!

ACE was an awesome choice for our wedding reception! Arthur, our DJ, was flexible with all requests and the dance floor was packed all night. I would definitely use them again and recommend them for any event. There were some minor issues with the schedule of events but my wife and I were the only ones that noticed them. Many people commented to us about how great the music was and the overall venue. Thanks ACE for making our reception amazing!

We hired Atlantic Coast Entertainment because they fit into our budget, and while we basically got what we paid for, I was somewhat disappointed in the end, relative to our other vendors who were pretty much all amazing.
After initial meetings with Erv, we were paired up with DJ Anthony. He was nice, but extremely laid back, and spent part of the time during our meetings searching for songs on his computer rather than talking about ideas. During the wedding he did great when he stuck to the playlist I'd provided, but once he started out on his own I wasn't thrilled. There was not much response to how the crowd was doing (i.e. whether they were enjoying his selections). To be fair, our venue had a balcony, which made this more difficult, but after asking for a few song changes using hand signals I was hoping he'd come down and talk to us rather than keep playing the same style music anyway.
He also missed our timeline some, announcing the wedding party early and leaving out the anniversary dance that we had requested. That said, our guests were on the floor dancing pretty much the whole time (except right at the end), and we definately still had an amazing wedding and a really fun night, I just wish we'd shopped around a bit more (or perhaps gone with a different member of the ACE team).

I guess that is why the value of cost was so good. He was pressured by the group to play different music, more dance music, I will give him that pardon. But, he did not keep in mind OUR PREFERENCES/TASTE...NO RAP/HIPHOP at our wedding he was told many times...what was not understood about that. Two extensive interviews with us and many emails/phone calls should of had a grasp of what type of people we were; a differant DJ would of had a UNDERSTANDING of what to play for dancing that fit into "OUR EXPECTATIONS"...out of all the millions of songs he bailed himself out with the top 40 and rap. The adults could not believe the music, they barely even danced. Not being from the area, I also found out I was overcharged as well!

Erv Schmidt Owner and Entertainer of Atlantic Coast Entertainment after careful consideration has responded to this absolutely unfair review of his company and their service: First let me start off by saying that on 06/13/2009 our company performed 7 total events, (3) Wedding Receptions, (3) Birthday Events, and a Bat Mitzvah.
The DJ / Veteran Entertainer at Erica and Franks wedding reception is one of our very best Charles Jones.I have had the opportunity to work alongside him many times and he is an asset to our organization. He is a model employee and sets the bar extremely high for himself in everything he does in his professional life and usually exceeds the goals he sets for himself. Chuck spent more than 3 hours in 2 separate meetings in our office with the couple and corresponded many times with then via phone calls and emails. He did everything and more to ensure the success of the event and even spent many hours acquiring the specific music selections for the event which he paid for himself.
After carefully reading Franks review, I noticed that he states in his first and last statements, two conflicting statements. First he states the "value of cost is good", but then he states, "Not being from the area, I also found out I was overcharged as well" I don't understand how you can be overcharged if the value of cost is good? Frank and Erica were NOT overcharged and they received one of our best entertainers on a very busy day. Now, as for their preference / musical choices for their event...they were very specific about that PRIOR to the event. They wanted no rap or hip hop, this was understood by Charles and he was looking forward to the event.
Not being at the event myself personally...I was forwarded an email that Frank sent to Charles after the event. He stated that Charles played music that he did not want at the event and he was unhappy.
After talking to Charles about the night in question...this was his response in his own words: "I met with Frank and Erica twice in person, and spoke with Frank on the phone one time before their wedding. We specifically talked about the types of music they wanted and I understood clearly, what they were looking for. They wanted a wedding with a lot of Motown, and classy music. On the day of the event, after dinner, I started the dance floor off with music that was within the guidelines of what they had discussed, and I kept it there. After maybe 30 to 40 minutes, I had approximately 6 to 10 people that came up and wanted “new, more fun” music. I told them, that I had specific guidelines, and that I had to stick within those guidelines, and that I was sorry. If there was anything else I could play for them, I would definitely play it. The requests kept coming in, and the dance floor was moderately filled. After a while, Frank came up with a friend of his, and he told me to play whatever his friend wanted. I took Frank aside, and told him, that I would not play anything new, because he and Erica had been very specific and I was going to keep within those guidelines. He told me again, to play whatever his friend wanted, and I again, told him, that my job was to follow their desires, and stay away from anything they did not like. He again, was very persistent, and said to just play whatever that guy wanted me to play. After that, I played one set of top 40 music during which time, the dance floor was packed and even the bride was dancing. I did switch back after that, and stuck with the older music, but felt that the party went very well. After the party, I congratulated Erica and Frank, and Erica said “Thank you, I know that the crowd was very difficult” and she said I did a good job, despite their difficulty. I am a meticulous professional and I am a little more than upset with the fact that Frank would tell me to play music that I told him I did not want to play because of their desires. I understand that after the fact, Erica may have been upset with him, but I told him specifically that my only desire was to make them happy , and that I would not play anything else. It was he that told me to take those requests, even after reminding him of their specific preferences, and that is not fair. Their guests had a good time, and I did my job in a professional manner."

It is business as usual when a client sets VERY specific musical guidelines. However, it is unfortunate, when the client feels pressured by the guests at the event to play requests and they are forced to change their mind about the music that they previously did not want played. Because Frank gave the go ahead to change the music AT the event we did everything as HE requested to please him and his guests. If there was a mis-communication between the bride and the groom with the music at their event and a failure of one of them to stick to the play list that THEY prepared months before their event, we should not be chastised on an open forum about it. We are Professionals in everything we do at Atlantic Coast Entertainment. This review is unfair and unwarranted.
