Aveda Institute

My wife, her bridesmaids, her mother and my mother all went over to the Aveda Institute on the morning of the wedding. Their hair and make-up looked great, but it took a really long time. Because this is a school there was a lot of waiting invovled because instructors have to approve all the work. My suggestion is for something like a wedding, go to a real salon or have someone come to you so that things are not behind. Otherwise the work done well great.

I was a bride on a budget, but boy did I get a huge bang for my buck. The student who did my wedding day hair scared me a little because she said I was the first updo she's ever attempted. Luckily mine was a half-up style. I brought a picture in to her and she and two other instructors jumped in and executed it to look even better than the photo. I had a beach wedding so I wanted waves, not curls. To my surprise they created the most beautiful waves with a STRAIGHTENER, yes I mean a flat iron. Wild, huh? Needless to say, I was absolutely thrilled with the results.

This place is awesome! The Institute is a training facility for hairstylists, aestheticians, and massage therapists. The Aveda Institute was a great alternative for my bridal party. We had our hair and makeup done at the salon. It was less pricey than other vendors in the area.. and they were able to do a phenomenal job with the entire party! Even my fussy flower girls - one stylist did the most adorable braids in my niece's hair -- she looked like an angel!
