I will say this - Nino is a talented guy, and if there was a catagory for flower arrangements, I would give Nino a 5+.
But parents of the bride can be picky people. They expect the flower vases at their daughter's wedding reception not to fall over, shatter, and destroy the plates, glasses, and linens as the guests were arriving.
Fortunately, the good folks at the venue quickly and professionally removed the remaining tall vases and placed them around the dance floor.

As the evening progressed, more than a few guests remarked what a cute idea it was to put flowers around the dance floor instead of on the tables!

But like I say, parents of the bride can be picky people.
I would look elsewhere.

Nino and his team did an awesome job for our wedding! Nino was great to work with and made our vision come to life. We met with him several times during the planning process and he answered all of our questions and made sure we were happy with everything we received. There were flowers I wanted that were not in season and he went above and beyond to make sure we were able to have them! He stayed at the ceremony to make sure everyone got their flowers and even set the aisle runner in place after the groomsmen unrolled it. Backyard Garden truly care about the work they do and it shows!

Nino brought my exact vision for my wedding to life and I will forever be grateful to him for it. Thank you so much!!! When I first came in to meet with Nino I had a binder several inches thick full of photos and magazine clippings with my ideas. He took it all in and he worked with me to incorporate everything I wanted into my wedding decor while keeping it tasteful and keeping it all within my budget. I got married in Ithaca, NY and Nino had never been to my ceremony or reception venues. He came with me to visit both locations and took photos and detailed notes on everything he saw. He made sure that we were on the same page before moving forward with any of our plans, which I really appreciated. There were times when I really needed his professional guidance on certain things (like my ceremony decor) and he was 100% spot on with his judgment call there. I had only a rough idea about what I wanted for the ceremony and Nino used his creative license to create an incredibly romantic but subtle setting for us to exchange our vows in. I loved my chuppah so much that part of me wants to keep it and put it up in my own backyard! There were also times when I felt strongly about incorporating some of my own personal elements into my reception decor (like my table numbers, my favors and my menus) and Nino was totally flexible, he made it work and he made it work well. He incorporated every single detail that I asked for (from the birch pots, the moss details, the curly willow, the wheatgrass, to every single specific flower that we discussed for both my centerpieces and bouquets/boutonnieres as well as every single outside element of my own that I asked him to include in his design). My bridesmaids loved their bouquets (they held them all night!), I loved mine so much that I used it as a centerpiece for my sweetheart table at the reception, and my guests continue to rave about how beautiful my centerpieces were and how romantic the entire setting was inside our reception tent. Nino and team - I cannot thank you all enough for bringing my vision to life, for being such a true pleasure to work with, and for helping to make the most special day of my life such a beautiful one.

The Backyard Garden did such a beautiful job with our wedding flowers! Nino was completely professional and helped us with the finer details of our reception centerpieces. Nino personally flipped through a website with us, looking at every variation of gerber daisy available to make sure I was happy with the color choices.

Our bridal party bouquets were above and beyond my expectations. They were bold, colorful, and put together exactly as I had envisioned it. The reception flowers were perfect and set up exactly they way we had discussed- I never even had to worry about anything on the day of our wedding. In fact, we had a "mishap" where a corsage was accidentally given to the wrong woman, and Nino fashioned a pin-on corsage at the church for my grandmother. Neither I, not my gram, knew that anything was amiss, and I thank him for that! What a testimant to the service offered by this florist! He even gave us advice on which parts of the decor we should DIY to save money.

Nino provided the flowers for my July 2011 wedding. He sat down with my mom and I twice and made sure he understood our vision for my wedding day. He also had awesome suggestions for our specific reception venue.

Everything came out exactly like I had imagined. I couldn't believe how beautiful both the church and reception venue looked. You definitely get what you pay for.

Nino and his crew are professional and fantastic. They even helped me bring back boxes, etc to my house the next day which wasn't at all related to their job description. He is also great to have around right before the ceremony - he fluffed my dress and got everyone organized. A+++++

We had the pleasure of having Nino provide the flowers for our wedding. I had a variety of different floral decor, including rose petals for the aisle, 5 bridesmaids bouquets of blue hydrangea, a mixed wildlflower bouquet for me, boutonierres for the groomsmen and dads, wristlet for my MIL, two large vases of flowers, and 16 centerpieces. Everything looked gorgeous! I was very impressed. He is very accommodating with what you want and very upfront about what will work and what won't. He's a true professional - just tell him what you want and let him run with it.

After viewing their website, I was very excited to have the chance to work with Backyard Garden. Their portfolio was just gorgeous and creative. I met with Nino who was a sweetheart. He squeezed us in for a consult on a very busy weekend. We filled him in our all the details for our big day and he was flexible on accommodating our ideas. Afterward, he was pretty good about returning emails on time, which was our primary mode of contact. We ended up requesting a boutonniere later on and he was added it in without a problem. Overall, nothing was terribly expensive, but I still feel like it was more expensive than it needed to be. Overall, I believe we spent nearly $700 and all we had was a boutonniere, the bridal party bouquets, three corsages, and ten "centerpieces." When I saw the final products on the wedding day, I was not very pleased with them. The centerpieces, which I requested be a small bunch of carnations submerged under water, were not done properly. They were never attached to the bottom of the glass cube and thus, simply floated around. It ended up looking really boring and cheap, not the elegant centerpieces we had in mind. The corsages and boutonniere came out alright, though maybe slightly large for our taste. The details of the bridal party bouquets were not done correctly. We had requested one bridal bouquet with mostly Lisianthus, a couple white roses, and the stems tied in a purple ribbon. Then we requested that the bridesmaids bouquets be mostly white roses, a couple Lisianthus, and tied in white ribbon. On the wedding day, all the bouquets, including the bridal, were all mostly white roses with a couple Lisianthus and the ribbons were backwards (the bridal was white and the bridesmaids purple). Truly, nothing could have upset us that day because we were so happy to be getting married, but looking back, it's upsetting that I didn't get what I asked for. There was no attention to detail really and that made us feel like not much attention was given to our order. This was probably because there were several weddings going on that weekend and we weren't the ones paying top dollar. We feel like our details got overlooked simply because our order was simple and not a huge moneymaker for them. Regardless of how much we were paying in respect to other clients, I still feel like we should have been given great service (and gotten the items we requested).

We had a great experience with Nino from The Backyard Garden Florist. He is very responsive and professional about what he does. He also pays attention to details and gives us very helpful advices through the planning.

We used his service for all our flower arrangements at the ceremony and the reception. Also the decoration for our wedding cake! On the actually wedding day, he arrived on time and start setting up everything according to plans. He also did a great job putting names on the bags of boutonnieres and corsages so everyone found their piece very easily!

We are so grateful to be able to work with such nice and professional people to make our wedding day a perfect experience for us!
