The Balboa Bay Club and Resort

After looking at over ten venues, we selected the Balboa Bay Club for our ceremony and reception. Abbie and Allison were terrific to work with, and were always friendly, sweet, and respectful of our budget. You don't need to hire an outside coordinator because they are so organized at preparing the details and timeline for each wedding. Everyone at the venue was helpful and professional, from the valets to our room block. I was completely stress-free the day of the wedding because they had taken care of every detail.

Our ceremony and reception site looked perfect, the food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. Yes, their food/drink is expensive, but you get what you pay for - I have never had food at a wedding that tasted like our food did. My relatives told me it was better than a restaurant! Hotel staff was terrific, waited on us hand and foot, and they went above and beyond with the appetizers and alcohol. The entrees were perfectly prepared and presented (usually not the case for event food). Even though we had to pare down a few things due to our budget, the catering group worked magic with our wedding. THANK YOU! Now I just need a friend to get married there, so I can attend another Balboa Bay Club wedding . . .

I could not have asked for a better experiance planning my wedding or at my actual wedding. The Balboa Bay Club's wedding coordinator was very helpful in planning the wedding of my dreams and was on site the day of the wedding to ensure that it ran smoothly. The Balboa Bay Club and their coordinator really made my wedding a dream come true.

Beautiful location. The staffs are fabulous. There is no need to hire a wedding planner. They take care all the stuff for you and make you a stress-free bride.

Great food, great surroundings. Beautiful setting. Not that cheap! They do include a lot in your package and Abbie is very good for the day of. She make sure things run smoothly.

The Planning: I would suggest hiring an event planner for any wedding but the Bay Club was much easier to work with through our planner as she was more competent than the events director at the Club.
The Ceremony: They were willing to be very accomodating with a possible change in venue area due to the weather. We were lucky and the ceremony was beautiful.
The reception: During the wedding, the service from the waitstaff was impeccable. The food was of the highest quality and recieved rave reviews from the guests.

The Balboa Bay Club is exceptionally gorgeous and the service was excellent.

Abbie Reis who handles all the wedding and wedding related events at The Balboa Bay Club & Resort is a hands on perfectionist. She will be there to insure that all the hotel details are followed through by the hotel staff that is responsible for each area. She is a joy to work with throughout the process and will put all your nervousness at ease. Her creative ideas will be an assest to your wedding vision. The Balboa Bay Club & Resort is a wonderful setting whether it be for a bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner or the entire wedding weekend. It has all the amenities you will need without having to leave the property. Beach lawns for casual entertaining, spa and hair salon for the women, patios for outdoor entetaining and a fabulous ballroom for the final evening reception. They also have a room on the second floor overlooking the bay which can host that after wedding brunch with indoor and outdoor seating. It is truly a hidden gem with a most amazing unpretinous staff.
