Bamboo Beats was fantastic DJing our wedding. Preparing for the wedding, Jojo and Isaac were extremely organized and professional as we worked through the order of events and built up the song list. Isaac did a great job with our fairly eclectic mix of music, and everything just flowed smoothly and felt like “us”. We really liked his style as an announcer as well – just cool and professional, far from the cheesy vibe you often get from wedding DJs as soon as they start talking. Finally, Isaac was excellent at getting everyone out on the dance floor and keeping them moving. He read the crowd well and made sure our guests were engaged – it worked great, and everyone was having fun on the floor until the end of the night. We’d recommend Bamboo Beats to anyone without hesitation.

Bamboo Beats was organized and awesome. Jo Jo and Isaac are a well oiled machine. They helped us plan our our wedding ceremony to a T. We provided a music list/genre preference for all aspects of our wedding (pre-wedding, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing...) and the guests were very impressed. They have an extensive knowledge of R&B and hip-hop music, but incorporated everything we asked for. They provide their own sound system and mics for the officiant and readers. The sets they played were seamless. They kept our guests on the dance floor until the venue shut us down. They were prompt, communicative, and helpful. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The most awesome part: they helped off-set our wedding's carbon footprint!! They are very eco-friendly which is something that is near and dear to my heart. Way to go, Bamboo Beats!

I absolutely love Bamboo Beats. DJ Tecumseh created the perfect atmosphere for our reception, from the cocktail hour to the last dance. He did a great job transitioning from more traditional wedding songs that appealed to every one early in the reception, to more of a dance party later in the night. And he also did a great job keeping the pace of the reception going so people never got bored. Working with Jojo before the wedding was also a great experience. She was very helpful and answered all of my questions quickly. Bamboo Beats played a huge part in making my wedding a success and I'm so glad that they were my DJ. I would recommend them to anyone. You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I were married on October 22, 2011. Our DJ for the night was DJ Cues and he was amazing! My husband and I really wanted to dance the night away with our family and friends and that's exactly what we did. DJ Cues kept the atmosphere up beat and fun and we enjoyed every minute of it. We didn't really offer too many song requests but DJ Cues figured out what we liked and knew exactly what to play to get us all excited and on the dance floor.

Everyone we were in contact with at Bamboo Beats were incredibly professional. We were happy with the service from the beginning during planning until the end. In fact, we both really appreciated that both DJ Cues and his wife made sure to say good bye and thank us for letting them be a part of our day at the end of our reception. Overall a great experience.

I have never, ever written a review for anything online, ever, but I just could not resist. Isaac was the BEST wedding DJ I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. We were married 10/22/11 and I chose Bamboo Beats because I felt that they were really in sync with the type of music I wanted to play at my wedding and I wanted a DJ, not just a human IPOD manager.

Isaac and Jojo delivered and surpassed my expectations. My friends and family have not stopped raving about the music, truly there have been more comments about the DJ than anything else ( including how stunning I was ; ), j/k).

Isaac is a true DJ, not just a songlist player/ MC. He responded quickly and accurately to the crowd and the vibe and the playlist was PERFECTION. I asked for a mix of current hits but wanted a focus on early 90's dance and hiphop with a little blend of motown It was so good!!!

I watched people repeatedly start to leave the dance floor as a song was fading out and immediately running back because the next song was even better!

They did the audio and music for the ceremony as well which was flawless.

I can not say enough and I reccommend Bamboo Beats without reservation....don't miss out on this, I know how stressful wedding planning is and, in retrospect, this was a slam dunk choice!

My groom and I loved and very much appreciated the job that DJ Cue of Bamboo Beats did at our wedding this past fall. So many guests commented on how they liked the music…Many times they wanted to know how we picked the songs and I was very happy to say that DJ Cue did; he nailed it. And I have to honestly say that I danced my feet off and was sad to leave to our get-away song because I was dying to hear what songs he would play next. Having Bamboo Beats at our wedding was the easiest and best decision we could have made in terms of music. Having seen them DJ two other friends wedding over the course of the past two years it was a no-brainer to pick them for ours.

Jojo and Isaac have a clear love for music and place an incredible amount of importance on creating the perfect vibe for each section of the wedding day. They are beyond organized, caring, and overall generous in the steps they are willing to take to make the day go as smoothly and flawlessly as possible.

We told them right from the beginning that we were interested in making our wedding into a large party, with the main goal being that once the dance floor started we wanted it to be packed for the rest of the night. They beyond delivered on this point. At no time did I stop dancing, every song was a call to the floor and for the entire night I got to watch all of the people I love dancing, laughing, smiling, and enjoying themselves. Dance floor = packed!

But if you think for even one moment that packing the dance floor and seamlessly flowing from one rockin' song to the next is all that Bamboo Beats does then you are mistaken. Jojo single-handedly organized the flow of our wedding day starting with the ceremony all the way through when the lights got turned back on at the end of the night. She created a time line, organized what things should happen when, and made sure that we were generally on track with those events. Without her I am not sure that we would have been able to fit in all of the things that we wanted to.

Overall, Bamboo Beats is the kind of DJ where you feel comfortable just letting them do what they do best without having to worry that there will be any sort of misstep. With just general musical guidelines they created the perfect musical moments for each second of our day. I can not more strongly endorse them for any event you may be having. They are unbelievably good at what they do!

Picking Bamboo Beats as our wedding deejay vendor was one of the very best decisions we made when planning our wedding.

I'll admit that I was skeptical when they were initially recommended because we had seen them in action at a friend's wedding and they were both frequently on the microphone and very hip hop focused (which we are not), however, people kept recommending them (our friends whose wedding they deejayed, The Knot website, our venue's coordinator....). When we met with them, I mentioned these concerns, and Isaac followed our requests to the letter.

The actual night of our wedding, our wedding coordinator was mysteriously missing in action and Jojo unquestioningly took over the coordination of the ceremony and segue into the cocktail hour which was an absolute life saver.

This team is organized and customer focused. They have a well developed set of easy to fill out tools set up to prompt you to think about the things you want, and then - they actually follow what you request (unlike some of our other vendors). Though our Canadian/Tacoma-infused/Dance Club/Some Oldies/Some Obscure/A Glee Flashmob in the middle/Some Low Key music combo was not their standard focus, they pulled it off like complete experts in our music preference.

The music itself was varied, well mixed, well timed to balance moods and build a dance floor and they covered every single thing we requested over the course of the night. I both kept thinking to myself how truly perfect it was, and also received many many compliments on how great the music and dance party was.

Bottom line: The music at our ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner was ideal, and the reception dancing was incredibly FUN for everyone who came. Most of all we wanted to host a fun wedding, and, picking Bamboo Beats to control the mood was the definite way to do that.

An extremely pleasant, courteous and fun couple to work with. Jojo and DJ Tecumseh were fabulous at our wedding. We got to Bamboo Beats through a recommendation, and we were NOT disappointed by our choice at all. Right from picking the songs through the day of the wedding...they were a delight to work with. I highly recommend Bamboo Beats and have-twice! They are such a friendly and professional service. We loved working with Bamboo Beats! My husband and I had to plan our wedding from across the country, and so had to do most of the early planning via phone or email. Jojo was super communicative and organized everything-- every aspect of the ceremony and reception were planned out so there were no surprises. We had George/DJ Surreal at our ceremony/reception. He was great-- he was genuinely friendly, professional, and worked with us to ensure the reception/music was to our tastes. Our guests LOVED the music-- he incorporated our music tastes while adding perfect songs to keep the everyone dancing throughout the night.

When we chose them for our wedding DJs, Jojo was super helpful in the planning process. She was resourceful in providing recommendations for other wedding vendors too. When the wedding day arrived, they were top-rate! They were dressed impeccably with smiles on their faces and the ceremony and reception music were beyond perfect! They even faded out the music on all the "right" moments! Wow! The Reception was even more exceptional! Jojo and Isaac ensured the timing of each reception event, buffet dinner, dances, cake cutting, toasts, bouquet toss, garter throw, were on point and streamlined. We were having a hard time finding a DJ we knew would play the "cuts"! We didn't want any corn-ballish music played at our reception, and they truly blew it away with the suggestions we'd given them prior. DJ Tecumseh was able to mix in all the jams ranging from soft jazz, r&b, old school and new school hip-hop and reggae. Everyone was up and dancing until their feet were hurting! Several people brought flats so they could get rid of their heels and party down! Bamboo Beats definitely created that type of atmosphere! If we had to do it all over again, we would definitely select BAMBOO BEATS and you should too! You will be glad you did!!

Hiring Bamboo Beats was one of the best wedding decisions I made. They really listened to what I wanted and made our night so memorable. We continue to get compliments on the choice of dinner music and people telling us what an awesome time they had. I attribute so much of that to Isaac reading the crowd and knowing what to spin and how long to spin it. SO AMAZING. We would not have had such a great wedding without them. Jojo and Isaac are amazing! They did such an amazing job. When we first met, they seemed genuinely interested in our relationship, how we met and what kind of couple we are. We liked the fact that they were a married couple and worked together. Unlike some DJ's I've heard at weddings who are just in it for a few bucks. You could tell that Isaac was really passionate about what he was doing and he had tons of experience. The only thing I was bummed about, was that we were given a little homework assignment to come up with thirty songs that we wanted to hear. We thought those songs would be played during all the dancing, not while we were transitioning from the ceremony to the reception. We missed all of my favorite songs. That could have been our bad too, for maybe overlooking when those songs would be played. But overall, we had a great time and everyone was dancing their hearts out.

I loved working with JoJo. She responds to emails right away and is very professional and a true pleasure to work with.

My only small "complaint" is that there were songs on our must play list that never got played. Not sure what the purpose of a must play list is then? Additionally 2 of the songs on the "do not play list" were played. I was under the impression that if a song wasn't available we would be told and could provide it to the DJ but I'm not sure that was the case. If you work with Bamboo Beats and there are songs that you really want to hear and some you don't, just make that extra clear. Incidentally we had some odd requests like the Chicago Bears theme song that DID get played. Some of the more common ones didn't.

Overall it was a really great experience and I do recommend them.
